Stream Drake’s “Miss Me” Featuring Lil Wayne In Celebration Of His 37th Birthday

At the age of 37, Drake has a more impressive resume than most of his contemporaries. Days before his birthday (October 24), the Canadian confidently celebrated tying Michael Jackson’s Billboard record thanks to his For All The Dogs album, which also marked yet another No. 1 debut for him. After a few years of consistently dropping diverse new music, Drizzy recently confirmed that he’ll be taking a break from the studio to turn his focus toward his health and wellness.

Thankfully, fans won’t be suffering too much during the 6ix God’s hiatus, as he has an impressive discography to keep them going. In honour of his birthday, we’re playing throwback hits like “Miss Me” featuring Lil Wayne to commemorate all of the greatness Drake has achieved throughout his career so far. Even early on, the Scorpion artist was confident in himself and his abilities – not to mention in professing his love for the Queen of Rap.

‘Breaking Bad’ Stars Bryan Cranston And Aaron Paul Made Drinks And Danced At Drake’s Birthday Party

For one night, Breaking Bad turned into Drake-ing Bad (sorry).

Rapper Drake, who released his eighth studio album For All the Dogs earlier this month, turned 37 years old on Tuesday. To celebrate, he held a birthday party at Casadonna in Miami, Florida, with two celebrity bartenders: Breaking Bad actors Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul. According to TMZ, “the two stars showed up floral shirts and all to Drake’s Miami bash… which likely served as an easy promotion for Bryan and Aaron’s Dos Hombres mezcal brand.”

In a video shared on Instagram by Drake’s producer BNYX, Paul can be overheard telling someone that a “Negroni is the easiest drink to make.” What about a Vodka Red Bull? Actually, never mind. I’m not going to argue with Jesse Pinkman. He’s been through enough.

“It’s important for Bryan and I, as founders of this company, that [our business partners] know that we are doing the work. We don’t want to just slap our names on something and let other people do the work,” Paul told MSNBC about Dos Hombres. “This is our baby, and we’re incredibly proud of our baby.” He added, “It’s brutal, but we have a good time doing it.”

Please enjoy Bryan Cranston getting loose on the dance floor. You deserve it.

Drake’s No. 1s: Here Are All Of His Songs That Topped The ‘Billboard’ Hot 100

With his latest album, For All The Dogs, Drake has accomplished a feat only one other man has. Drake matched Michael Jackson’s Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hits record, thanks to his collaboration with J. Cole, “First Person Shooter.” While a lot of that has to do with streaming, that’s still a pretty impressive accomplishment considering just how much there is to stream these days. Here’s a look back at all of Drake’s Hot 100 No. 1s, which have helped him fascinate the world for well over a decade.

“What’s My Name?” — Rihanna Feat. Drake, 2010

Drake’s first two No. 1 hits came courtesy of his collaborations with Rihanna. The first was a result of Rihanna’s Loud single “What’s Might Name?” which lasted for one week at the position.

“Work” — Rihanna Feat. Drake, 2016

Rihanna’s dancehall-inflected Anti single recaptured the magic of their prior collaborations and improved on the formula, spending nine weeks at No. 1.

“One Dance” Feat. Wizkid & Kyla, 2016

“One Dance,” from Drake’s 2016 album Views, spent 10 weeks at No. 1 and was Drake’s first chart-topper as lead artist.

“God’s Plan,” 2018

Until “God’s Plan,” Drake’s Scorpion standout, the one knock against him was that he did not have any No. 1s as a solo artist. This record not only shattered that last obstacle but also started him on his history-making run in earnest — he’s had a No. 1 in every year since.

“Nice For What,” 2018

Another Scorpion single, “Nice For What,” spent 11 weeks at No. 1, making it his best-performing single ever. It not only replaced “God’s Plan” but it was also later supplanted by another Drake single — in fact, the next one on this list.

“In My Feelings,” 2018

In My Feelings” replaced “Nice For What” in July, giving Drake three No. 1 hits in 2018. It only fell short of its predecessor’s record by one week, fueled by a viral dance craze that presaged all the TikTokery to follow.

“Toosie Slide,” 2020

Drake’s obvious bid for TikTok trending status low-key worked. For a throwaway from the mixtape Dark Lane Demo Tapes, it certainly outkicked its coverage, although it only spent one week at No. 1.

“What’s Next,” 2021

Another non-album single, “What’s Next” appears on Drake’s Scary Hours EP and appeared at the top spot on the Hot 100 for one week.

“Way 2 Sexy” Feat. Future & Young Thug, 2021

In 2021, Drake returned with Certified Lover Boy, an album that wasn’t beloved but still managed to garner a one-week No. 1 — likely as a result of this goofy video.

“Wait For U” — Future Feat. Drake & Tems, 2022

In 2022, Drake again landed at No. 1 by virtue of a feature appearance — this time, with his new toxic twin Future. This song also has the distinction of making singer Tems the first African artist to debut at No. 1.

“Jimmy Cooks” Feat. 21 Savage, 2022

The song that kicked off Drake and 21’s productive partnership, “Jimmy Cooks” was the only traditional rap song on Honestly, Nevermind, which likely lent to its popularity among fans who were thrown by Drake’s seemingly sudden swing into dance music.

“Slime You Out” Feat. SZA, 2023

Drake’s first-ever collaboration with SZA might not have been popular among peers and critics, but it was with their fans, debuting at No. 1 on release and later appearing on Drake’s eighth studio album For All The Dogs.

“First Person Shooter” Feat. J. Cole, 2023

Drake and J. Cole’s fifth collaboration resulted in Drake’s 13th No. 1, tying Michael Jackson’s record, and J. Cole’s first, throttling one of the negative narratives about his career to date.

Houston Teen Takes Out Billboard to Invite Drake to her Sweet 16th Birthday

Houston Teen Takes Out Billboard to Invite Drake to her Sweet 16th Birthday

A 16th birthday is usually an epic event to remember- whether its a party or getting a drivers license. However, one Texas teen is hoping to make her celebration extra special, taking out a full-size billboard to invite Drake to her Sweet 16th Birthday.

Houston teen Miya Garcia took out the full billboard on Interstate 10 in Houston’s Jacinto City area with the help of her mom, Sonia Ramirez.

The flashing billboard features Garcia on one side and Drake on the other and reads: “Drake, you’re invited to my Sweet Sixteen.” It’s signed, “Your biggest fan, Miya” and includes that it will take place in December 2023 at Alexia’s Event Center in Corpus Christi, TX as well as her Instagram and TikTok handles.

Ramirez, who purchased the billboard for her daughter, told People that “she asked if we can get a billboard since he is now a Houston resident and he could possibly see the invite. She is such a positive girl and has hope that he will reach out soon.”

Drake, who recently announced that he will be taking some time off of music to focus on his health, also touched on plans to set up a secondary residence in Houston.

So far, no word if he’s sent Miya a RSVP.

Drake Seems To Be Recording A Video For ‘First Person Shooter’

Of all the songs on Drake’s new album, For All The Dogs, the one that appears to have had the biggest impact is “First Person Shooter” featuring J. Cole. And why not? It features the long-awaited reunion of the two titans of blog era rap, pairing them for only the sixth time in their parallel careers. It turned out to be a smart match; the single shot to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 despite not being promoted as a single or having a music video.

That state of affairs may be changing soon, though, as a video that recently surfaced on Twitter (never X, never) depicted what appears to be Drake shooting a music video on the roof of the Scotiabank Arena in his native Toronto for what fans believe will be the video for “First Person Shooter.” Their belief stems from the fact Drake is standing on a platform made up of square tiles and the one he’s standing on is lit up.

This would appear to be a reference to Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean” video, in which the King Of Pop dance-walked across similar light-up tiles as he sang. The connection is even stronger considering Drake references Michael Jackson’s Billboard hit making record in the lyrics from “First Person Shooter,” rapping, “N****s talkin’ ’bout when this gon’ be repeated / What the f*ck bro? I’m one away from Michael / N****, beat it, n****, beat it.”

Incidentally it’s “First Person Shooter” that actually tied Drake with Michael Jackson for most No. 1s in Billboard history — although his accomplishment is built on streaming rather than pure sales. Still, in the increasingly crowded marketplace for new music, it might be every bit as impressive as Drake thinks to keep people’s attention for over a decade of chart-topping hits, because while you can fake streams some of the time, it’s not exactly cost-effective to do it for as long as Drake’s been a hit-making champ.

Keep an eye out for the “First Person Shooter” video, and check out Drake’s video for the album’s other big standout (albeit for a less impressive reason), “Another Late Night” with Lil Yachty, in the meantime.

Pusha T Used “The Story Of O.J.” Beat Even Though No I.D. Asked Him Not To

No I.D. is a producer who has worked with some of the biggest names in all of hip-hop. That’s why when he recently sat down with Stereogum to reflect on his career’s worth of beats there was plenty to choose from. He discussed songs he made with Killer Mike, Big Sean, Common, Kanye West and more. He also discussed Jay-Z’s critically acclaimed 2017 album 4:44 which he produced the entirety of. They honed in particularly on the beat for “The Story Of O.J.” which has become just as well known for a different song entirely.

That song is “The Story Of Adidon” one of the most legendary rap diss tracks in recent memory. In the song Pusha T took aim at Drake, revealing to the world that he was hiding a secret child while using an offensive picture of him in black face as an album cover. No I.D. revealed that Push asked for his permission to use the beat, but he declined. “I told his manager, Steven Victor, he called me about it. And I was like, ‘No, that’s not even the spirit of the song, bro. Why would you pick that one?’ That wasn’t lack of love for him and what he was doing and his art. It was just, again, there’s times I don’t wanna be involved in certain things, because it’s not me.” Check out the full article below.

No I.D. Didn’t Want Pusha T Using His Instrumental To Diss Drake

Pusha T hasn’t slowed down dropping new music recently. Last year he dropped the album It’s Almost Dry. The album had features from Kanye West, Jay-Z, Lil Uzi Vert, Kid Cudi and more. Just last week he popped up in a strange place. He and Chad Hugo participated in a remix of French synth-pop band Phoenix‘s song “All Eyes On Me.”

Push is also still getting play out of his older records as well. He released a line of 10th anniversary merch for his 2013 album My Name Is My Name earlier this month. What do you think of Pusha T using No I.D.’s beat for “The Story Of Adidon” against the producers wishes? Let us know in the comment section below.

Nicki Minaj, Drake & Chief Keef’s ‘For All The Barbz’ Is The Ultimate ‘For All The Dogs’ Album Snub Response

After months of teasing their long-awaited collaboration, Drake and Nicki Minaj’s unreleased track did not make For All The Dogs. However, the Queen Radio host’s new freestyle track, “All The Barbz,” is the ultimate response for the notable album cameo snub. On the record, Minaj reclaimed her Young Money Record comrade’s “All The Parties” to hold fans over before the release of her forthcoming album, Pink Friday 2.

She kept Drake and Chief Keef’s contributions to demonstrate how sorely her bars were missed in the body of work. For Minaj’s verse, she took a moment to address the subtle jabs she sent seemingly and received during the 2023 VMAs (where she served as a host and featured performer).

“VMAs was a family reunion / First time in a while I seen all of my sons / Keep it a hundred, keep it in a trust / If I lose ninety-nine, I still keep it a buck / I don’t hear you hoes / I make the movies, I give you bitches cameos / Here we go, he tryna make honey nut like Cheerios,” spit Minaj seeming to refer to foes Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, and Latto some would include Doja Cat in the mix as well.

That would seem to be supported by another fairly topical line: “I get these b*tches scramblin’ when I throw the bait / One sub kill five b*tches, OceanGate.”

Listen to Nicki Minaj’s “For All The Barbz” above.

Pink Friday 2 is due on 11/17 via Republic Records. Find more information here.

How To Get Free Dave’s Hot Chicken On Drake’s Birthday

Drake’s birthday is coming up and for the second year in a row, Mr. October’s Very Own is giving fans the gift of free food via the Dave’s Hot Chicken chain (in which Drake is an investor). The chicken chain, which started in California but has since expanded to Colorado, Florida, Illinois, New York, and more, has quickly become a fast food favorite, and Drake’s involvement has certainly been at least a factor in its growing popularity (check out Uproxx’s rating of their sandwiches here).

How To Get Free Dave’s Hot Chicken On Drake’s Birthday

On Monday, October 24, you can get a Dave’s Hot Chicken slider or tender at every Dave’s Hot Chicken from 11 am to 9 pm local time. You’ll just need to download the Dave’s Hot Chicken app and scan it at the counter. Unfortunately, you will have to go to the restaurant, as this offer isn’t available online or through third-party delivery apps like DoorDash, GrubHub, or Uber Eats.

It’s probably fair to say that Drake’s had a pretty solid year since last October 24, when he turned 36. He had a highly successful tour with 21 Savage, dropped another album, For All The Dogs, and even released a book of poetry. So what will he do for his 37th year? Take a break, apparently. He’s certainly earned one.
