Billie Eilish Parties To Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” Drake Diss

It seems like, after her listening party for her new album HIT ME HARD AND SOFT, Billie Eilish went out to have a great time with some friends. Inadvertently (and unsurprisingly, given that it’s the number one song in the U.S. right now), she then “took a side” in the Drake and Kendrick Lamar beef, as she partied to the latter’s “Not Like Us” diss track against the former. It’s a small clip and just one of some friends hanging out, but people will probably still make their assumptions and jokes about the whole endeavor. Even some OVO die-hards out there can’t deny that this cut might have a longer shelf life than the average diss track.

Still, this development is particularly interesting because of the history between Billie Eilish and Drake in particular. For those unaware, she had revealed that they texted each other when she was still underage, and then defended The Boy against criticism insinuating an inappropriate relationship or advance. “The Internet is such a stupid-a** mess right now,” the Los Angeles artist told Vogue. “Everybody’s so sensitive. A grown man can’t be a fan of an artist? There are so many people that the Internet should be more worried about. Like, you’re really going to say that Drake is creepy because he’s a fan of mine, and then you’re going to go vote for Trump? What the f**k is that s**t?”

Billie Eilish Vibes Out To “Not Like Us”

Millie Bobby Brown, who Drake also had text message exchanges with, expressed a similar sentiment when he faced scrutiny for this before the Billie Eilish situation. Of course, this all carries a different context now with the Kendrick Lamar beef in mind, and especially with a song that makes such heavy accusations in as catchy of a way as “Not Like Us” does. While we probably won’t hear a specific statement from Billie Eilish on that anytime soon, it would also be unfair to just assume her feelings based on what a DJ put on at a function.

Meanwhile, “Not Like Us” continues to impress both critically and commercially, so it’s likely that Billie Eilish will hear it at least a couple more times while on a night out. Perhaps that’s the biggest oddity about the Kendrick Lamar and Drake battle’s fallout: seeing the rest of the industry react or shy away. Maybe there isn’t much to break down here. But as we wait to see if this is really the end, we can’t imagine how this wouldn’t be a big point of context for fans of either side as their careers move forward this year, and the next one, and the next one.

Kendrick Lamar’s “Good Kid MAAD City” Re-Enters Billboard Top 20

Kendrick Lamar is winning 2024. The rapper has been crowned the victor in the highly-publicized battle between him and Drake (rightfully so). He scored his second solo number one with “Not Like Us,” and he also secured number three and six hits with his other Drizzy disses. It gets better. Lamar’s iconic victory has inspired fans to dig back into his catalog and stream his albums at a rate they haven’t been streamed in years. The proof is in the numbers. The rapper’s seminal 2012 debut, Good Kid, M.A.A.D City, is selling like a new album.

DJ Akademiks, the man who championed Drake throughout the battle, ceded Lamar’s dominance. He pointed out the rapper’s debut was on pace to sell 26K copies the week of May 12. To put this staggering number into perspective, the album’s first week of sales (with a hit single) was 242K. This means Lamar has amassed over 10% of his original first week sales without doing any sort of promo or repackaging. It all stems from the quality of the music. The 26K in sales will be enough to push Good Kid, M.A.A.D City into the top 20 of the Billboard 200. Another staggering achivement for an album that’s over a decade old.

Kendrick Lamar’s Debut Is Back On The Charts

The irony of Good Kid, M.A.A.D City doing so well in 2024 is that Drake is featured on one of the album’s biggest songs. “Poetic Justice,” the album’s fourth single, peaked at 26 on the Billboard Hot 100. It also peaked at number eight on the US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, eventually going 2x Platinum. The rest of Lamar’s catalog has also seen a sharp spike in popularity. Billboard reported that streaming for Lamar’s music went up a staggering 49% from May 3-6. By comparison, Drake’s numbers were down 5%.

Good Kid, M.A.A.D City has also maintained its critical standing. Many cite it as the greatest hip-hop debut of all time, and one of the genre’s greatest albums, period. It’s frequently been compared to the likes of Illmatic and Ready to Die. It currently has a Metacritic score of 91, which is his second-highest behind To Pimp a Butterfly. Drake’s highest Metacritic score, by comparison, is Nothing Was the Same with a 79. K. Dot fans stay winning.

T.I. Commends J Cole For Bowing Out Of Kendrick Lamar Battle

J Cole’s decision to delete his Kendrick Lamar diss “7 Minute Drill” and issue an enthusiastic apology onstage was controversial, to say the least. At the time, many thought it was a weak move, and wished he would have stuck things out. Since then, of course, the consensus has shifted, as most fans and peers now agree that he did the right thing after seeing how Kendrick’s beef with Drake played out.

During a recent appearance on Big Boy TV, T.I. shared his take on the situation, commending J Cole for knowing when to bow out. According to him, the rapper made a good call and might have saved himself a lot of trouble. “I feel he chose peace and tranquility,” he began.

T.I. Praises J Cole For “Mature” Apology

“You gotta have thick skin and really be unfazed and unbothered,” T.I. continued. “And we don’t know the temperament or the sensitivity of Cole’s dynamic. We’ve never seen Cole upset. We don’t know where that would take him… I think that was quite mature of him.” T.I.’s not alone in thinking that J Cole was right to apologize, as Benny The Butcher had a similar take that he shared earlier this month.

“Honestly, you can see how gossipy and everything that this battle’s turned into,” Benny said at the time. “Do you blame him for not wanting to be a part of this at this moment? Do you blame him? I don’t. I probably would’ve went about it in a different way, but it’s like a gossip battle. It’s not like a rap battle, it’s like a ‘telling each other’s business’ type of thing, so I wouldn’t want to be a part of that.” What do you think of J. Cole deciding to delete his “7 Minute Drill” diss and apologize to Kendrick Lamar? What about T.I.’s take on it? Boosie Badazz Thinks Someone Could Have Gotten Hurt Amid Drake & Kendrick Lamar Beef

It’s no secret that Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s lyrical feud got pretty ugly, and according to Boosie Badazz, the situation could have escalated even further than it did. During a recent appearance on Ari Fletcher’s cooking show Dinner With The Don, the Louisiana-born performer revealed that he doesn’t like rap beef. He explained that while nobody was physically injured this time around, that’s not always the case, and it’d be a tragedy if someone had been.

“I don’t like rap beef,” he began. “Cuz what if somebody shoot Drake up? The whole world gon be sad… Somebody shoot Kendrick Lamar a** up? Chop his a** up? The whole house gon be quiet.” Boosie’s remarks have sparked a debate in TheHipHopWolf‘s comments section, with fans arguing about whether or not he has a point.

Boosie Badazz Doesn’t Like Rap Beef

This isn’t the first time Boosie’s aired his unfiltered opinion on rap beef, however. Back in April, the “Wipe Me Down” artist took to Twitter/X, urging fans to stop supporting it altogether. This was right after the release of Future and Metro Boomin’s album We Still Don’t Trust You, as listeners began to speculate about any potential Drake shade. Boosie similarly warned that things could get real in a hurry, even before Kendrick and Drake dropped their most explosive diss tracks.

“EVERYBODY GASSING UP RAP BEEF SMH ALL EXCITED SAYING THIS HIP HOP,” he wrote. “WELL EVERYONE N THE CREW NOT GO SEE IT THAT WAY . N WHEN IT POP OFF ‘IT REALLY GOES DOWN.’ SO WHEN SOMEONE FROM ONE OF THESE CREWS DIE, DONT SAY THEY ST*PID SMH GO SUPPORT THEM N COURT LIKE YALL SUPPORTED THE RAP BEEF.” What do you think of Kendrick Lamar and Drake’s beef? What about Boosie Badazz’s take on it? Do you agree with him or not? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Lil Yachty Fights Fan Over His Drake & Kendrick Lamar Beef Comments: “Suck A D**k”

Lil Yachty can’t seem to catch a break, as whatever he does regarding comments about the Drake and Kendrick Lamar beef are bound to land him in some form of hot water. Moreover, now that the battle seems to be over, most reasonable people are accepting and receptive of debate, different perspectives, and hot takes, especially when they don’t come from an overtly biased place. But one massive Drizzy fan took issue with the Atlanta creative showing respect to K.Dot, and allegedly trying to play both sides while claiming neutrality. Despite being a good friend of The Boy’s, Yachty took serious issue with this regardless.

“Lil Yachty also thinks that the song where someone calls his so called brother, a certified PEDOPHILE multiple times, is BANGING!!!!” the fan wrote on Twitter. “u making s**t what it’s not, everybody and they mama kno what side I’m on,” Yachty responded. “U fans be over doin s**t. I didn’t go into any specifics of the songs. Stop tryna spin narrative.” “man get the fck off my face with this BS,” the fan replied. “i simply reposted your OWN WORDS – you said you don’t think drake won or lost, you have respect for the guy who called him a certified pedophile & said that song is banging. what kind of friend are you? you stayed silent watching your friend’s character get attacked, you actually made it worse with that interview. PICK A SIDE OR SHUT UP.

Lil Yachty Bickers With Fan Over Drake & Kendrick Lamar Beef

“Suck a d**k nerd,” Lil Yachty clapped back. “it wasn’t my beef to speak in. f**k u want me to do? Jump on a feature? I said I felt like nobody won. The whole thing was stupid to begin with. When I support him I’m d**k riding, when I dont say s**t i switched up. This internet s**t is so lame. Can’t win. nobody knows u.” “you are absolutely shameless,” the fan retorted. “‘loyalty is priceless & that’s all i need.’ no because what side are you on actually? you literally said you don’t think drake won or lost & that you have respect for both him & kendrick. how are you trying to stay neutral when your so called brother has been called a pedophile by the same guy you say you respect?

“the whole world is against him & the only time you said something you made him look bad,” the fan continued against Lil Yachty. “what kind of friend are you? bruh i can’t take this dude seriously lmfaoooo it wasn’t your beef to speak on then why’d you go on an interview just to say you respect the same guy who called your brother a pedophile? & say his song where he screams certified pedophile repeatedly- banging? if you want to stay neutral keep that same energy all the way & shut up. you’re being dense on purpose & we see right through you p***y.”

Lil Yachty Divulges Thoughts On Kendrick Lamar Versus Drake Battle Mentioning Him

After a long period of (almost) silence, Lil Yachty’s finally spoken out, via his A Safe Place podcast, about the beef and battle between his good friend Drake and Kendrick Lamar. Moreover, he specifically said that a lot of people congratulated him for being mentioned by K.Dot and Rick Ross, who was also beefing with The Boy, but that he didn’t want any part in it. The Atlanta artist remarked on his respect for both Kendrick and Drizzy, and called it a “cool thing to watch” that taught him a lot. One interesting revelation or claim is that he knew that one or all of these artists mentioned him before their material came out, although he didn’t specify which track or post despite a heavy hint that it was “Euphoria.”

Finally, Lil Yachty said the beef wasn’t serious. Not only that, but he said it won’t get serious due to the distance between the two combatants and them being “rich as f**k.” Also, there were some thoughts on how people already picked Kendrick Lamar over Drake before the battle even began. “Drake was deemed a loser in this battle before it started,” he believes. “Because people don’t like him, and haven’t, and he’s won for a very long time.

“And he’s sat at the top of the throne… Honestly, respectfully, I think he still sits on top of the throne,” Lil Yachty expressed. “I think that even if opinionated masses would say that Kendrick won, I don’t think that people are going to stop listening to Drake and Drake’s career is going to flush, you know?

Yachty Speaks On The Court Of Public Opinion

“I said to Drake, I told him, ‘I don’t feel like you won or lost,’” Lil Yachty concluded. “Rappers have lost and then lost everything. […] I think Drake will still be in everyone’s rap Spotify at the end of the year at the top. He can still drop hits and it will still control the summer. I think that Kendrick made very smart moves, and I don’t think Drake would disagree.”

TI Claims Drake Vs Kendrick Lamar Ruined Things For Other Rappers

T.I. is no stranger to rap battles. When he was beefing with Shawty Lo, the Atlanta rapper went to Lo’s neighborhood and shot the music video for the diss record “What Up, What’s Haapnin’.” He knows how to be disrespectful. That being said, TI is not thrilled with the direction that the Drake vs. Kendrick Lamar battle went. He recently went on Big Boy TV to discuss the fallout of the battle, and asserted that it has been harmful to some of the other rappers who have tried to drop in 2024.

TI made it clear upfront that he didn’t care about rappers lying. He considered it to be part of the game. He told the radio host that his focus goes towards the wordplay and the writing. “All this sh*t they saying can’t be true,” he asserted. “I mostly listen for the double entendres, the metaphors and the skill in which they present their art. They hard. I think it’s good for the game.” The Atlanta icon was less positive with regards to what the battle has done to other rappers. He pointed out that Drake and Dot sucked up all the oxygen in the room with regards to hip-hop, and everything else has been effectively drowned out.

TI Also Praised J. Cole For Choosing “Peace”

“I will say this,” TI added. “They done kinda f*cked it up for some other who were planning to drop in this period.” The rapper has a fair point. Gunna recently dropped a new album, One of Wun, and most of the attention was on the bars that could be perceived as digs at the 6 God. TI, himself, has been working on completing his final album, Kill the King. There isn’t a release date yet, but the Atlanta rapper definitely had no plans of dropping a double album in the midst of the biggest rap battle of the 21st century.

TI also talked to Big Boy about J. Cole’s decision to avoid the battle. While many industry veterans have criticized the rapper for buckling, TIP was complimentary. “I feel [like] he chose peace and tranquility,” he noted. “You got to have thick skin… We don’t know where that would take him. That was quite mature of him.” Fans are still waiting on that TI album, but he did recently drop a killer freestyle over West Coast instrumentals.

Common Reveals Whether Drake & Kendrick Lamar’s Feud Went “Too Far,” Recalls His Own Drizzy Diss

It’s no secret that the explosive rap beef between Drake and Kendrick Lamar reached a new peak earlier this month when the artists took aim at each other’s families on “Family Matters” and “Meet The Grahams.” Things only got messier from there, as Kendrick went on to drop “Not Like Us,” accusing Drake and his OVO Sound colleagues of being “certified pedophiles.” While the feud had hip-hop fans everywhere tuned in, some felt as though things went a bit too far, though Common disagrees.

During a recent appearance on 7PM in Brooklyn, the Chicago-born MC weighed in on the viral battle, revealing his criteria for a solid diss and revealing whether or not he thinks it’s even possible to take things too far. “In a battle, first of all, I think the criteria is that you’ve got to have lyrics… Saying something that’s like, ‘Man, I’m lighting this n***a up.’ The lyricism is there. It’s got to be lines that punch, they punch, like you’ve got to hit. And I like wordplay with that too.”

Common Doesn’t Believe Drake & Kendrick Crossed The Line

“But,” Common continued. “If what you’re saying is just clever and it’s got punch, to me that’s part of it.” He went on to praise both Drake and Kendrick for the style they each brought to the battle, noting how that took things to “another level.” As for how far is too far, Common says late or sick family members are off-limits to him. He notes that while he’d usually not go after family at all, he did so on his own Drake diss years back, “Stay Schemin’.”

“For me, I wasn’t like ‘This is too far.’ I just was like, ‘Damn, this is a really incredible battle,’” he added. What do you think of Common claiming that Drake and Kendrick Lamar didn’t go too far on their diss tracks? Do you agree with him or not? Stephen A. Smith Picks His Winner Of The Drake Vs. Kendrick Lamar Beef

The Drake and Kendrick Lamar feud has finally died down a bit. After Kendrick’s release of “Not Like Us,” it seemed many had sided with the Compton rapper over Drake. Last week, ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith spoke about the beef, saying it went entirely too far. He stated that it was inappropriate to make such insensitive and personal allegations as well as to bring up family members and subjects like pedophilia in a rap beef. Smith was adamant in his position of the beef being overkill and straying away from what he believes to be what rap feuds are for proving who is the better artist or lyricist. Overall, Stephen A. seemed taken aback by the viscousness of the beef. Now, he has finally decided to declare a winner.

It seems like the landmark choice for the winner of the Drake-Kendrick Lamar beef is Kendrick. Everyone has pretty much assumed Drake has thrown in the towel, even though the Toronto rapper had the last word. Although he released the latest diss track, it was drowned out by a much better and much more bumping song in “Not Like Us.” Stephen A. Smith has declared Kendrick the winner for that very reason. Drake seemed like he wanted it to end, and Kendrick wanted to win.

Stephen A. Smith Declares Kendrick Lamar Victorious Over Drake

It’s simple for Stephen A. Smith. He says the winner is Keendrik because “Drake wanted to squash more so than Kendrick.” he then says, “I personally believe both of them lost to some degree with how personal they appeared to be willing to get, and I don’t think anybody wins in that.” He continued, “If you the one who want to surrender, then usually you’re the one who’s losing. That’s just logic.” His take is pretty much the consensus. Drake wanted it to end more than Kendrick. Kendrick seemed fine, going back and forth for however long he needed to.

Stephen A. Smith previously expressed that he hoped the quarrel wouldn’t escalate into violence. He also gave J Cole credit for ending the dispute a few weeks ago. Stephen A. Smith seems to have found the entire experience unbelievable and finds it hard to comprehend how far it has come. Overall, Stephen A. claims that, in the end, the rivalry is made them both appear bad.

DJ Akademiks Blames Meek Mill For Drake’s Loss Against Kendrick Lamar

DJ Akademiks has been a key component to the Drake and Kendrick Lamar feud. Overall, Ak is someone who has been fed information by the OVO camp. He even got to premier the official version of “Push Ups” on his stream. Moreover, he was one of the first people to listen to “Family Matters” as soon as it was released. However, in the last week or so, he has had to admit defeat as Kendrick Lamar dominated the charts with “Not Like Us” and “Euphoria.” Not to mention, “Meet The Grahams” was scathing as well.

Recently, Akademiks was on the Full Send Podcast where he gave his take on the feud and what went wrong. Interestingly enough, he blames all of this on Meek Mill. Although there is a reason behind this madness. As he explains, Drake came into his feuds against Pusha T and Kendrick with a feeling of overconfidence. In Ak’s eyes, that confidence only exists because of how Meek fumbled his beef with Drake. At the time, Meek was a battle rapper while Drake was still that kid from Degrassi. Consequently, Drake was the underdog. Since Drizzy came through with the win, he became extremely confident, and that confidence has now come back to bite him.

DJ Akademiks Speaks

This is essentially the thesis that Akademiks lays out. Additionally, he goes on to say that had Meek Mill left the ghostwriter accusations for a diss record, he would have won the beef. Instead, he hastily took to Twitter and lost. Throughout the clip, Akademiks also makes sure to insult Meek’s intelligence a bunch of times. Given how much Ak hates Meek, this is not a surprise in the least bit.

Let us know what you think about this hot take from DJ Akademiks, in the comments section down below. Do you believe what he is saying here is valid? Or do you believe that he is letting his hatred for Meek Mill cloud his judgement? Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world.
