YoungBoy Never Broke Again Welcomed Post Malone And The Kid Laroi For His Relaxed ‘What You Say’ Single

YoungBoy Never Broke Again has been making the most of his house arrest in Utah (as documented by Billboard in February). He dropped I Rest My Case in January, and it’s followed by Don’t Try This At Home today, April 21. We already knew the newer album housed “WTF” featuring Nicki Minaj, as the single was released earlier this month, but the roster of featured artists doesn’t end there.

The video for “What You Say” featuring Post Malone and The Kid Laroi also dropped today.

The Isaac Garcia-directed video begins with a comic-book-like animation before we find YoungBoy Never Broke Again cooling by the fire at night in the snowy Utah mountains. (Posty also resides in Utah.) YoungBoy boasts in the chorus, “F*ck what they say / I done made it out the storm / Check my bank, I made new commas / I can’t take no break, I’m way too young.”

About 90 seconds in, The Kid Laroi emerges from the woods and joins in on the hard-earned bragging, “All this drama, baby, I’m too rich for that / All these commas like I’m an aristocrat.” Post Malone brings it home, sitting on a snow mobile and singing about giving people “somethin’ they can copy off” and refusing to “have my baby rockin’ knockoffs.” (Post became a first-time father last year.)

On the same day, The Kid Laroi is showing his softer side with the solo single “Where Does Your Spirit Go?” Post Malone is also fresh off the release of the similarly introspective track “Chemical.”

NBA Youngboy Drops $200K On LA Release Party That He Can’t Attend: Report

NBA Youngboy’s new album is nearly here. Besides The Last Slimeto, he hasn’t necessarily plotted out full rollouts for his projects. Instead, he surprises fans with bodies of work and sells thousands of copies in the first week. Part of it is a result of his house arrest conditions. Since he hasn’t necessarily been able to leave his home in Utah, he’s been locked in the studio and delivering some of the best music of his career.

In a few weeks, he’ll unveil his forthcoming project, Don’t Try This At Home. After dropping a handful of records, including “WTF” with Nicki Minaj, it looks like he’s trying to rally his fans and industry friends in Los Angeles for a massive release party. However, he won’t actually be there. According to TMZ, he’s coughed up $200K to rent out Elevate Lounge DTLA on April 20th for the event, even though he can’t attend physically. 50 Cent’s Branson Cognac is reportedly sponsoring the event while DJ Carisma holds it down on the ones-and-twos.

With the album due out on April 21st, we suspect that he’ll provide fans with atleast one more single before dropping the project in its entirety. Prior to the release of “WTF” with Nicki Minaj, he dropped off “Next,” “Demon Party,” and “Members Only.” The upcoming project will include 33 songs in total. Hopefully, we see more collabs on the project besides Nicki Minaj. However, it looks like we’ll only find that out closer to the release date.

The rapper explained that the title of his album is inspired by the state of the rap game right now. As someone who has fought some serious charges, he said that he feels a lot of rappers aren’t actually about the things they rap about. “Entertainment and reality is very different. What I do think, some of the entertainers make their entertainment their reality also,” he said. “A lot of people who you see today, that’s 100% who they is… But I guarantee you bro, the majority of them… nah.” Are you looking forward to NBA Youngboy’s new album? NBA Youngboy Taps Nicki Minaj For “WTF”

NBA Youngboy’s revving up for the release of his next album. As the rapper transitioned from Atlantic Records to Motown earlier this year, he’s become a bit more open to the public with interviews. Even though I Rest My Case boasted no features, his upcoming project, Don’t Try This At Home looks like it’ll have a few collabs on there. He hasn’t revealed the tracklist yet, but we do know that Nicki Minaj will appear on the album.

This morning, YB came through with his new single, “WTF” ft Nicki Minaj. The new single boasts production from Dom, Kenoe, Wayv Beats, Yetty, and Yo Benji. YB and Nicki deliver a melodious effort over luscious strings and looming 808s for their new collab as they scoff at their competition. NBA Youngboy kicks off the record as he details his success and the envy that comes with it. Then, Nicki slides through with an impressive 16 before emulating YB’s flow for the latter half of her verse.

NBA Youngboy & Nicki Minaj Do It Again

YB and Nicki Minaj have formed a strong collaborative streak over the past three years. The two first linked up on Mike Will Made-It’s “What That Speed Bout?” in 2020, which proved how strong their hit-making capabilities are when they work together. However, it took two years for the YB and Nicki to work again. When the Louisiana rapper came through with his album, Ma’ I Got A Family, Nicki served as the sole feature on the single, “I Admit.

With Nicki Minaj revving up for the release of her next project, it feels like we could expect YB to return the favor. Over the past year, Nicki’s hinted at the release of her follow-up to Queen. Though she hasn’t revealed a title, she recently dropped off the single, “Red Ruby Da Sleeze,” which has been making the rounds on TikTok and radio. Hopefully, we’ll get a new single from her soon. Check out YB and Nicki’s new collab above.

Quotable Lyrics
Cross YoungBoy, then you cross the Queen
All them internet games turn boys to memes
Keep sleepin’ on the team, we gon’ pause your dreams
They want action, tell my n***as, “Cause a scene”

NBA Youngboy & Nicki Minaj Announce New Single “WTF”

We could count on a feature from Nicki Minaj on NBA Youngboy’s Don’t Try This At Home. On Tuesday afternoon, Ja Morant’s favorite rapper announced that he and Nicki would be sliding through with a new single titled, “WTF,” on April 7th. Along with the upcoming collaboration, NBA Youngboy will also unveil the official pre-order link for Don’t Try This At Home, which will consist of 33 songs in length. With Don’t Try This At Home due out on April 21st, the upcoming NBA Youngboy and Nicki Minaj collab will certainly set the tone for what he has in store.

The Baton Rouge rapper and the Queens icon are certainly no strangers to each other, having developed a strong rapport throughout YB’s ascent to stardom. Mike Will Made-It brought them together on “What That Speed Bout?!” but prior to that, Youngboy let his affection for Nicki known on the single, “Nicki Minaj.” Most recently, they teamed up on “I Admit” off of NBA Youngboy’s Ma, I Got A Family. Perhaps, we could expect YB to return the favor when Nicki Minaj drops off her follow-up to Queen.

NBA Youngboy x Nicki Minaj Coming Soon

NBA Youngboy’s forthcoming project will mark his second release under the Motown banner. Following a prolific run with Atlantic Records in 2022, the rapper kicked off the year with the release of his latest project, I Rest My Case. The 19-song effort appeared with no features, which isn’t a surprise for NBA Youngboy. However, that might be where Don’t Try This At Home differs. Hopefully, Nicki Minaj won’t be the only feature on the project.

Beyond Nicki Minaj, there have been a few hints of features on Don’t Try This At Home. During a conversation with Akademiks, NBA Youngboy hinted that he worked with Lil Wayne for one of the tracks. Additionally, DaBaby, who YB worked with on Better Than You, could also appear on the tracklist for NBA Youngboy’s next album. At this point, it looks like Motown is positioning the upcoming release from the Baton Rouge rapper to be his biggest to date, especially since he’s been far more open to media lately. We’ll keep you up to speed on anymore news on NBA Youngboy and Nicki Minaj’s forthcoming release.

NBA Youngboy & ZAYEL Join Forces On “Members Only”

NBA Youngboy and up-and-coming rapper ZAYEL have a certified heater on their hands with their new collab, “Members Only,” which arrived with a set of visuals where YB debuts his new tattoo. The two rappers collide over smooth, bluesy production for their latest offering, which finds them ruminating about the harsh environments they came up in. ZAYEL takes it back to where it all started when his first starts, sharing details of his school days before eventually, reflecting on the risks that come with the streets. It’s an honest and grim verse, though it’s also an excellent introduction to ZAYEL for those who only introduced themselves to him through his collab with NBA Youngboy.

Still, it’s NBA Youngboy who comes through with an impressive verse for the second half of “Members Only.” This time, NBA Youngboy comes through swinging, reflecting on his own rags-to-riches story on his record with ZAYEL. The rapper’s militant energy shines across through the record. “I can tell you I ain’t the one to f*ck with, this sh*t get bloody, boy/ Rolls Royce, I remember I used to ride around in stolen cars,” he raps on the record. NBA Youngboy precisely lays down what he’s about and everything that made him who he is in a succinct verse. Hopefully, we hear more energy like this from him on his next project.

NBA Youngboy Collides With ZAYEL For Their New Collab

Despite the violent imagery scattered across his verse, NBA Youngboy appears to emphasize his latest mantra about entertainment vs reality on ZAYEL’s “Members Only.” The rapper’s currently gearing up for his upcoming album, Don’t Try This At Home, which he teased during a rare appearance on Rap Radar, where he also described how a lot of rappers aren’t who they appear to be on wax.

Ahead of his collaboration with ZAYEL, NBA Youngboy formally announced an April 21st release date for his next project. Don’t Try This At Home will reportedly consist of 33 songs in total, though it’s unclear if “Members Only” will appear on the tracklist. Prior to this, NBA Youngboy shared singles like “Next” and “Demon Party” in anticipation of the album. Check the new single above.

Quotable Lyrics
Cop shit, don’t run and tell the Feds, they know I knock shit
Knife on the yard, play, I send a n***a to the shop, bitch
Behind the bars, I shut a nigga down, they know how Top get
Ben, tell a n***a, “Fuck ’em,” once he released, he gon’ get blitzed

NBA Youngboy Drops New Single “Next”

NBA Youngboy is undoubtedly taking things to new heights this year following an incredible run in 2022. There’s no doubt that YB is one of the biggest rappers right now, ascending to the top through an organic buzz. The influx of music he’s dropped through YouTube turned him into one of the biggest artists on the platform while amassing millions of fans worldwide and transforming into a generational talent with an indelible imprint on the rap game.

The rapper released roughly eight projects altogether in 2022 with the majority of these efforts arriving in the latter half of the year. Projects like The Last Slimeto and Ma’ I Got A Family helped close out his deal with Atlantic Records before beginning a new chapter of his career with Motown Records. He already blessed fans with I Rest My Case earlier this year, which found him diving into the Playboi Carti-esque lane a bit deeper. However, with a new project on the way, the rapper has fans anticipating his next move.

NBA Youngboy – “Next”

With Don’t Try This At Home expected to drop in the near future, NBA Youngboy sets the tone with the release of his latest single, “Next.” The rapper returns with an exhilarating banger that finds him pushing back at his competition and flaunting his wealth. However, it also showcases his growth, from producing street-centric bangers to trying to appeal to a much wider audience than before. It’s a party anthem that provides us with a bit of insight into what we should expect from him on Don’t Try This At Home

NBA Youngboy shared details about his forthcoming album during his recent interview with Rap Radar. Following the launch of his “Stop The Violence” campaign, he explained that he was going to really talk his sh*t on his upcoming effort. However, he doesn’t want his fans to try and mimic his actions. ““I’mma be talking crazy on there,” he said of the project. “I’mma show you Murda Man… but I’m lettin’ you know, though: Don’t try this at home.”

Quotable Lyrics
I make all these bitches come and take it off, boss shit
Got that bitch doin’ right, buy that bitch a outfit
I ain’t have red on the first night, told the bitch blue this shit
I want head on the first night, I can make her mouth fit

NBA Youngboy Details New Album & Dissects Entertainment Vs. Reality

NBA Youngboy’s entering a new era in his career. Following his departure from Atlantic Records in 2022, he kicked off his contract with Motown at the beginning of the year. Shockingly, he’s been more open than he has in the past. He’s interacting more with the media and appears to have a change in perspective surrounding the entertainment industry as a whole. Perhaps, it’s part of contractual agreements but it’s clear that fans appreciate the influx of content he’s delivering.

This week, the rapper sat down with B.Dot and Elliott Wilson for the latest episode of Rap Radar. He confirmed the title of his forthcoming album, Don’t Try This At Home. “I’mma be talking crazy on there,” he said of the project. “I’mma show you Murda Man… but I’m lettin’ you know, though: Don’t try this at home,” he added, explaining that he doesn’t want fans to recreate anything that he says on his records. In a sense, this statement falls in line with his “Stop The Violence” campaign. “It’s all entertainment, bruh,” he continued with a grin on his face.

NBA Youngboy On Entertainment Vs. Reality

YB explained that there’s a line between entertainment and reality. Though some things are intended to keep audiences engaged, he feels as though reality can spill into the art sometimes. “Entertainment and reality is very different. What I do think, some of the entertainers make their entertainment their reality also,” he said. “A lot of people who you see today, that’s 100% who they is,” he added, explaining that many rappers aren’t necessarily faking a persona. “But I guarantee you bro, the majority of them… nah,” he said.

He explained that many individuals simply create the perception that they live through the hardships of the streets. He explained that a lot of rappers carry weapons in their music videos. However, he questioned whether it’s actually an accurate representation of what they’ve experienced. “Man, you got to dig a little deeper sometimes, bro,” he said. “Alright, now look at his mama. His mama ain’t no gangsta, so how the f*ck is he a gangsta? That shit don’t be adding up, bruh.” Check out the clip above.
