Diddy Recalls Sleeping On Friend’s Floor During “The Love Album: Off The Grid” Release Party

Diddy celebrated the release of his new project, The Love Album: Off The Grid, at Brooklyn Chophouse Times Square’s 47 Below over the weekend. During the event, he reflected on sleeping on the floor of his friend’s apartment.

According to a source for Page Six, Diddy “had an emotional moment talking about their friendship” with the space’s owner, Robert “Don Pooh” Cummins. “Me and Pooh — he used to let me sleep on his floor in his apartment,” Diddy recalled, as captured on video by photographer Johnny Nunez. The two met while students at Howard University.

The event was a star-studded affair overall, with Diddy welcoming Mary J. Blige, RZA, Jim Jones, Fabolous, Jaylen Brown, and more. Additionally, Diddy brought along Yung Miami of the City Girls. They reportedly treated guests to a selection of satays, dumplings, salt and pepper lobster, shrimp fried rice, and steak.

The run-in with Cummins isn’t the only time Diddy’s gotten emotional while promoting his new album. Speaking with Access Hollywood for a recent interview, he detailed the making of his Kim Porter tribute on the new album. He explained that his late partner still visits him in his dreams. “I got with Babyface, and I really told him the story of me and Kim, and I showed him this picture, and I said, ‘Babyface, I know your voice will penetrate the heavens above. I need you to sing this song to Kim, and I need her to hear it so she can come and visit me in my dreams,’ and that’s the story I really told him,” Diddy shared. He added: “And we started writing the song, and I was like, ‘I feel like I really want to make sure she gets the message’ and I call John Legend, and I was like, ‘John, I need you to sing to the heavens above’ and that’s how we got ‘Kim Porter.’ And she has come and visited me in my dreams.” The Love Album: Off The Grid is available now.

NBA Youngboy Drops $200K On LA Release Party That He Can’t Attend: Report

NBA Youngboy’s new album is nearly here. Besides The Last Slimeto, he hasn’t necessarily plotted out full rollouts for his projects. Instead, he surprises fans with bodies of work and sells thousands of copies in the first week. Part of it is a result of his house arrest conditions. Since he hasn’t necessarily been able to leave his home in Utah, he’s been locked in the studio and delivering some of the best music of his career.

In a few weeks, he’ll unveil his forthcoming project, Don’t Try This At Home. After dropping a handful of records, including “WTF” with Nicki Minaj, it looks like he’s trying to rally his fans and industry friends in Los Angeles for a massive release party. However, he won’t actually be there. According to TMZ, he’s coughed up $200K to rent out Elevate Lounge DTLA on April 20th for the event, even though he can’t attend physically. 50 Cent’s Branson Cognac is reportedly sponsoring the event while DJ Carisma holds it down on the ones-and-twos.

With the album due out on April 21st, we suspect that he’ll provide fans with atleast one more single before dropping the project in its entirety. Prior to the release of “WTF” with Nicki Minaj, he dropped off “Next,” “Demon Party,” and “Members Only.” The upcoming project will include 33 songs in total. Hopefully, we see more collabs on the project besides Nicki Minaj. However, it looks like we’ll only find that out closer to the release date.

The rapper explained that the title of his album is inspired by the state of the rap game right now. As someone who has fought some serious charges, he said that he feels a lot of rappers aren’t actually about the things they rap about. “Entertainment and reality is very different. What I do think, some of the entertainers make their entertainment their reality also,” he said. “A lot of people who you see today, that’s 100% who they is… But I guarantee you bro, the majority of them… nah.” Are you looking forward to NBA Youngboy’s new album? Let us know in the comments.
