Dominic Fike Quite Literally Bared All Onstage At His Los Angeles Concert

Dominic Fike is baring all. Not only on his second studio album, Sunburn, or in the revealing interviews he’s given during the rollout, but also, onstage. Fans at Fike’s Los Angeles concert last night (August 9) got quite a show, as he briefly (no pun intended) undressed on stage, as he was switching outfits.

In a clip captured by fans, Fike is seen removing his shirt and pants, stripping down to nothing but his skivvies and socks.

Fike later shared the clip to his Instagram story, captioning the video “Thanks la I’ll be back home soon.”

This summer has proven to be a breakthrough season for Fike. In addition to his tour, he released Sunburn in July, and also contributed to the Barbie soundtrack.

In an interview with Apple Music 1’s Zane Lowe, Fike admitted that while he’s garnered much of a large following — particularly since his role on HBO’s Euphoria — he’s a little bit uncomfortable with fame.

“…if it were up to just me, you would never see me on [social media],” said Fike. “I mean, I would use it just for drunk posts at 3:00 AM, ‘f*cking killed this boy in Smash.’ Like dumb sh*t. Because I never think to make a post about a song that I released, that’s just not in my DNA. I don’t know. I’m never like, ‘Oh, got to post about this sh*t that I made last night.’”

Dominic Fike Paid Tribute To Angus Cloud, His Late ‘Euphoria’ Co-Star, With An Emotional Speech On Stage

Last night (August 1), Dominic Fike put on a concert at 713 Music Hall in Houston. There was a significant fog over the performance, though: Angus Cloud, one of Fike’s co-stars on HBO’s Euphoria, recently died at 25 years old. During the performance, Fike took a couple minutes to speak about it (as Stereogum points out).

As he absentmindedly played guitar, Fike said to the audience:

“Um, so I guess I lost a friend of mine recently. He died the other night, which is wild to say because I’m not really… I don’t deal with grief often. I haven’t had a lot of death happen around me, and this was the first time I feel like I knew the person well enough to cry over and feel something, you know? It was weird.

I was on my way to get a massage, which sounds so f*cking stupid, at the time, and I got this call. And it f*cked me up, obviously. I still got the massage, I felt really stupid. He probably would’ve been like, ‘Yeah, go ahead,’ you know? Even this tonight, I was sitting in the green room, and it felt… You know when things just feel, like, trivial? Like, you feel really small, and the timeline gets sort of stretched out.

I sometimes look at people like sparks. I zoom out, and I think people have wavelengths. And if you zoom out far enough, you see some people, probably not a lot of us at all, but I think if you zoomed out millions of miles, you would see this kid’s spark, you know. You could see it from so far away, even if it was a short flash. He would light up a room, any room he walked in. He’s a f*cking good dude. And he would have been… I felt stupid, though, coming out here. Like, this is so stupid, go do a show, act happy. But he would’ve wanted me to do that. He would’ve been like, ‘No, just f*ckin’ do the show, have fun.’”

Dominic Fike Brings Florida Vibes To Your Headphones With “Sunburn” Album Featuring Weezer

A few years ago, Dominic Fike was a relatively low-key artist, best known for his affiliation with BROCKHAMPTON. Now, however, he’s made a name for himself as a main character on one of HBO’s biggest shows, which could only be topped by the arrival of his sophomore album. Sunburn, a 15-track release with just one guest appearance from Weezer, landed this past New Music Friday (July 7), and so far, fans seem to be loving it even more than Fike’s 2020 debut.

On What Could Possibly Go Wrong the Florida-born artist operated solo across 14 titles. “Why,” “Superstar Sh*t,” and “Chicken Tenders” have become the most popular tracks in the years since, helping to propel his career to new heights. Ahead of Sunburn, Fike shared “Dancing In The Courthouse,” “Ant Pile,” and “Mama’s Boy” as singles. In addition to that, he teamed up with Metro Boomin for “Mona Lisa,” which also appears on the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse soundtrack.

Dominic Fike Shows Off His Eclecticism On The Trippy New Single ‘Mama’s Boy’

Dominic Fike recently announced his sophomore album Sunburn arriving next month. So far, the singles “Dancing In The Courthouse” and “Ant Pile” are out, and now he’s back with “Mama’s Boy.”

At less than three minutes, the track is an off-kilter, sputtering journey that offers an immersive atmosphere. This track also follows the release of “Mona Lisa,” his song for the deluxe version of the Across The Spider-Verse soundtrack.

Shortly after the unveiling of his new record, he’ll be hitting the road on the Don’t Stare At The Sun Tour, which kicks off in Indianapolis and stops by Philadelphia, New York City, Boston, Baltimore, Austin, and more.

Fike is most known for his role as Elliot in Euphoria, though he flaunted his musicianship on the season finale with a five-minute song on an acoustic guitar that left watchers bewildered. “The last year and a half was kind of a rollercoaster, in a weird way,” he said in October. “A lot happened in my personal life, I think. I took a break from music and whatnot. And eventually, I kind of hopped back on … and started working again.”

Sunburn is out 7/7 via Columbia. Find more information here.

Dominic Fike Shares ‘Mona Lisa’ For A Deluxe Version Of The ‘Across The Spider-Verse’ Soundtrack

Today (June 2), the soundtrack for the Spider-Man movie is out, lengthily titled Metro Boomin Presents Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse Soundtrack From And Inspired By The Motion Picture alongside the release of Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse. However, there’s a track that doesn’t appear on the album that’s definitely worth a listen.

Dominic Fike’s “Mona Lisa” appears to be a part of the deluxe version of the soundtrack. The artwork for the song reads: “I made a song for a superhero movie… This is the cover for now.” It begins with his smooth vocals singing intimately against acoustic guitar before a beat imbues it with more energy and he eases into a chill flow: “I know you like your space and distance / Yeah, you don’t take admissions / They told you not to date musicians / Yeah, but can’t make you listen.”

Fans are eagerly awaiting his forthcoming album Sunburn, which will be arriving in July. The singles “Dancing In The Courthouse” and “Ant Pile” have listeners hooked so far. The singer also just announced the Don’t Stare At The Sun Tour, which will kick off right after the album is out. It’ll hit cities all over North America.

Dominic Fike’s New “Ant Pile” Single Finds Him Reminisicing On A Past Lover

Back in 2020, Dominic Fike offered up an enticing debut project in the form of What Could Possibly Go Wrong, on which he delivered 14 featureless tracks. Since then, we’ve seen him make his acting debut on season two of HBO’s Euphoria, quickly becoming a fan favourite among household names like Zendaya and Jacob Elordi. Now that he has more free time to pour back into music, the “3 Nights” hitmaker is gearing up to drop his sophomore album, Sunburn.

The singer shared the big news earlier this month, along with confirmation of a July 7 release date. So far he’s given us one single, “Dancing In The Courthouse,” which was followed this New Music Friday (May 26) by another sure-fire hit. Called “Ant Pile,” the latest release finds Fike candidly reflecting on his first love, which definitely came with plenty of awkward moments during his younger years. As Uproxx notes, the forthcoming project is autobiographical in nature, and inspired by his childhood in Florida.

Dominic Fike Previews Sophomore Album with “Ant Pile”

“First grade / Somebody tied you to an ant pile / And that wasn’t even the worst day / Back then you knew I always liked you,” the multi-talent begins his first verse, revealing to listeners that his feelings for the girl in question stretch far back long before he found fame. “Ninth grade / I picked you up before the first date,” the 27-year-old later adds. “You were allergic to your entrée / You couldn’t do pasta.”

Quotable Lyrics:

The higher-ups will tell you what you can’t eat
Where you can’t go, how to dress, how to act decent

Seen you completely naked

Dominic Fike Reflects On His First Love On His New Song, ‘Ant Pile’

Singer-turned-actor-turned-singer-again Dominic Fike is onto a new chapter. Tonight (May 26) Fike has shared the latest track from his upcoming sophomore album, Sunburn. On the precious “Ant Pile,” Fike took us back to his days on the playground, where he recalls crushing on one of his classmates.

“First grade / Somebody tied you to an ant pile / And that wasn’t even the worst day / Back then you knew I always liked you,” Fike sings, over electrifying guitar riffs.

He then chronicles their love up to high school, where they started to take their relationship to higher levels, from dates, to hook-ups, to breakdowns, and painful dissolutions.

“Ninth grade / I picked you up before the first date / You were allergic to your entrée / You couldn’t do pasta / The movie was awful,” he sings on the second verse.

“Ant Pile” is one of Fike‘s more romantic songs, and the lyrics play out vividly, like the soundtrack to a coming-of-age movie. Sunburn is said to be an autobiographical album inspired by his childhood in Florida. The bulk of the album was written, produced, and recorded in his home state.

You can listen to “Ant Pile” above.

Dominic Fike Shares The Cover Art And Release Date For His ‘Aching And Vulnerable’ Album, ‘Sunburn’

After weeks of dropping hints and teasers on social media, Dominic Fike has finally announced his sophomore album. His next effort, Sunburn, will (appropriately) arrive this summer.

Ahead of the album’s release, Fike has released its lead single, the autobiographical “Dancing In The Courthouse.” This Friday, he will release the album’s second single, “Ant Pile,” which he previously performed at Coachella last month

According to a press release accompanying the announcement, Sunburn will offer listeners “the aching and vulnerable revelations of a young artist still growing and putting their best foot forward.” It continues, “Someone who returned home to discover himself once more, who found the right words in small rooms – conjuring timeless spells to close this last chapter of his life and open the door to an even more searingly bright future.”

Fike wrote and recorded much of the album in his home state of Florida, and the songs will serve as love letters to his time growing up there. He worked with drummer Henry Kwapis (Dijon), bassist Devon Workman, and producer Jim-E Stack, and the result was 14 personal tracks. Over the course of the album, Fike will share accounts of heartbreak, regret, addiction, and jealousy.
