Halsey Uses A ‘Euphoria’ Scene To Joke About Dominic Fike’s Age Difference Mix-Up

Dominic Fike is at an important point of his career, as he’s in the midst of his first major acting role as a cast member of hit HBO series Euphoria. He’s doing well in music, too, of course, and he’s rubbed shoulders with some major figures in the industry, including Halsey; Fike featured on “Dominic’s Interlude” from Manic. Now, Halsey has used a clip from Euphoria to share a story about the first time they met.

Halsey tweeted a clip from the show, in which Zendaya’s character hits Fike’s character in the head and says, “He’s a liar and a f*cking snake. F*ck you!” Halsey wrote alongside that, “me and dominic fike when we first met and he told me he thought i was 35 even though im only one year older than him.”

Indeed, Halsey is 27 years old and was born on September 29, 1994, while Fike is 26 and was born just over a year later on December 30, 1995.

Halsey added in another tweet, “ive been doin this so damn long every one is tryna put me in the grave today. y’all better be careful! im 27 the universe might be listening [skull emoji].” Some of their followers apparently weren’t too keen on Halsey’s reference to the infamous “27 Club,” which features a group of famous celebrities who died at 27 years old, as they followed up, “too early in the day for dark humor i see. im sorry im kidding ily!!!”

Hours later, she added, “‘why would u share this’ because it’s funny as hell. i have a kid and i’ve been making music for 10 years i don’t blame anyone who is surprised by my age [crying emoji] y’all suck the fun outta everything.”

Who Is Dominic Fike From ‘Euphoria?’

The second season of Euphoria got underway earlier this month, bringing back the many characters we’ve come to love (or despise) over the course of the show’s first season. They include Rue Bennet (played by Zendaya), Jules Vaughn (Hunter Schafer), Maddy Perez (Alexa Demie), and Cassie Howard (Sydney Sweeney). This season has also brought new characters into the mix, a group highlight by Elliot who is played by Dominic Fike. Elliot meets Rue at a drug-filled New Year’s Eve party and the two quickly form a bond that Jules, who is also Rue’s girlfriend, initially questions but later accepts after warming up to Elliot.

So, who is Dominic Fike from Euphoria?

Aside from being an actor on the show, Fike is also a singer who delivered his first project back in 2017 with his Don’t Forget About Me, Demos EP. The project earned the singer plenty of attention from around the industry and it later sparked a bidding war between record labels to sign him. Fike eventually picked Columbia in 2018 where he re-released Don’t Forget About Me, Demos and his debut album, 2020’s What Could Possibly Go Wrong? That project featured no guest appearances across the 14 songs present on it.

Elsewhere, Fike has worked with Justin Bieber, Slowthai, Halsey, Kevin Abstract, and more throughout his career.

Dominic Fike Is All Up In The New ‘Euphoria’ Season 2 Trailer Alongside Zendaya

Dominic Fike is rolling. After the success of last year’s What Could Possibly Go Wrong, he’s spent 2021 appearing on high-profile collaborations like”Die For You” off of Justin Bieber’s smash Justice, Remi Wolf’s sizzling “Photo ID,” and even covered “The Kiss Of Venus” on Paul freakin McCartney’s III Imagined album alongside St. Vincent, Anderson .Paak, and others. He’s also rumored to have a Live From Electric Lady EP due out soon as well. These are high-profile looks and it’s all been building towards Fike’s acting debut on the second season of HBO Max’s Euphoria.

Today the trailer for the new season dropped and Fike is all over it. “I don’t have to do much acting. He’s exactly like me. It’s sh*t I would say and sh*t I would do,” he told Variety back in August. His musically-minded character is even playing guitar in one of the scenes. “I’m just in go-mode right now,” Fike said. “It’s kind of like I’m walking and people are putting tiles under my feet as I take each step.”

He joins the now-Emmy-winning Zendaya in the cast, which also includes Maude Apatow, Angus Cloud, Eric Dane, Alexa Demie, Jacob Elordi, Barbie Ferreira, Nika King, Storm Reid, Hunter Schafer, Algee Smith, and Sydney Sweeney.

Euphoria Season 2 comes to HBO Max on 1/9/2021. Watch the new trailer above.

Dominic Fike Said The Character He Plays In The New Season Of ‘Euphoria’ Is ‘Exactly Like Me’

Last year Dominic Fike released his debut album, What Could Possibly Go Wrong, a record indicative of the dark-pop pathos that seems to be taking over culture in this era of global crisis and imposed isolation. Now, he’s expanding into a different medium while keeping the same energy by joining the cast of Euphoria for the show’s second season. In a new interview with Variety today, Fike talked about the process of auditioning for the show, not once but twice, actually landing a bigger role the second time around.

The character he’s slated to play in the second season of the show is a friend of characters played by Zendaya and Hunter Schafer, aka Rue and Jules. According to Fike, his two co-stars are “the nicest people ever.” As far as his own experience acting on the show, Fike said he’s been having an easy time of it — mostly because his character has a life story that’s relatable to the rising star. “I don’t have to do much acting,” he admitted. “He’s exactly like me. It’s shit I would say and sh*t I would do.” As far as Fike’s take on what it’s like to film on set? “It feels like a long music video.”

Check out his full interview with Variety here, and look for him on the next season of Euphoria.

Brockhampton Lets Lil Nas X And Dominic Fike Embark On A Trippy Journey In Their Video For ‘Count On Me’

Brockhampton has promised two albums this year, and the first, Roadrunner: New Light, New Machine, arrived last week. Already there’s a new video for one of its tracks, and it finds the boy band teaming up with two of his musical peers, Lil Nas X and Dominic Fike. The two star in the video for “Count On Me,” the second single from the new album, and it begins with Lil Nas and Fike riding in a Jeep as they kick off while cracking jokes like, “Who the f*ck is Radiohead?” Things take an unexpected turn when the two singers end up in the midst of a seemingly drug-infused trip that ends with surprising make-out session.

Roadrunner: New Light, New Machine enlists ASAP Rocky, ASAP Ferg, Danny Brown, Jpegmafia, Charlie Wilson, and more for the thirteen-track effort. Prior to the project’s release, Kevin Abstract, the groups’ lead vocalist, delivered news about Brockhampton’s future in a tweet. “2 brockhampton albums in 2021 – these will be our last,” he wrote. Exactly when that second album will arrive remains to be seen, but it appears that after a long run that started back in 2016 with their debut mixtape, All-American Trash, Brockhampton will be no more come 2022.

Paul McCartney Announces A Collaborative New Version Of ‘McCartney III’ With A Cover From Dominic Fike

It appeared yesterday that a cryptic video Paul McCartney shared was teasing upcoming collaborations with Anderson .Paak, Phoebe Bridgers, Idris Elba, EOB (Ed O’Brien), Dominic Fike, St. Vincent, Damon Albarn, Beck, Khruangbin, Josh Homme, 3D RDN (of Massive Attack), and Blood Orange. Today, he has confirmed that to be the case: He is releasing a reworked version of his 2020 album, McCartney III, titled McCartney III Imagined, which features contributions from the aforementioned artists.

Tracks from the original album have been covered and/or otherwise reimagined by the guest artists and McCartney kicked things off today by sharing Fike’s rendition of “The Kiss Of Venus,” which he transformed from an acoustic ballad to an R&B jam.

During a Reddit AMA from December, McCartney cited Fike and other artists involved in McCartney III Imagined as modern performers he listens to, writing, “I’m lucky, I have a friend who sends me new music which helps me keep in touch with the modern scene. So I listen to people like Dominic Fike, Beck, St Vincent and Khruangbin. I also listen to a lot of classic oldies coming through, from rock n’ roll to 60’s to soul to R’n’B, with a sprinkling of classical music now and then.”
