DJ Khaled made his runway debut as a model at Hugo Boss’ fashion show. He was in the spring-summer fashion show, which took place outside the One Herald Plaza in Miami. There was an aquatic theme to the show with walls of water and a runway that seemed to be floating. Marco Falcioni, SVP of Creative Direction at Hugo Boss, explained the theme in a press release. “One of the underlying motifs that inspired the collection is the exquisite tension that lies between contrasting elements, such as solid and fluid states; land and sea; opaque and transparent; past and present.” Khaled had a dark blazer on top of a white shirt and dark slacks.
In addition to DJ Khaled and Naomi Campbell, there were plenty of other famous models on the runway. Some examples include Pamela Anderson, Precious Lee, Ibtihaj Muhammad, Ezra Frech, Caleb Williams, and the recently retired image architect”/celeb stylist Law Roach. Despite his long history in the fashion scene, just like Khaled, it was his first time on the runway.
The Story Behind DJ Khaled’s Walk
Despite the slippery look of the runway, nobody appears to have fallen during their walks. However, DJ Khaled does escort Naomi Campbell to the finish line as the only escort of the event. From the behind-the-scenes footage that Khaled dropped on his Instagram, it appears that the escort was something always planned. It was not a last-minute ploy to cover up some of the issues that were present during the shooting. Vogue Magazine explained that not everything went exactly as planned. There were strong winds that night and the fountains were acting up a little as well. However, nobody was hurt. After the show was over, they all celebrated a job well done.
There is no way that DJ Khaled could have done this before he lost weight. In 2019, he lost over 40 pounds due to his dieting with Weight Watchers. His motivation for the weight loss was not for himself, but rather for his family. “I have to love myself to take care of the people that I love,” Khaled said. “It’s not a priority, it’s the only priority.” It is good that he can enjoy the opportunities that come with less weight now.
If you’re a fan of hip-hop music, then you’ve undoubtedly heard of DJ Khaled. Currently, he is one of the best DJs/producers, and most of his albums are the best in the world. DJ Khaled has been popular for a long time and has a huge number of followers on social media. He has also proven to be a hitmaker, even when his role in big songs is unknown. Nevertheless, the Miami-based producer and DJ have been a staple in the industry for over a decade. He has been producing hit after hit and collaborating with some of the biggest artists in the game.
Despite his ambiguity, his albums have continuously charted at the top. Also, he has continued to collaborate with the biggest name in the hip-hop/pop world, establishing himself as a generational musician. God Did, his 13th studio album, shows how much more he can do with his creativity. With so many albums under his belt, it can be tough to know where to start. That’s why we’ve put together a guide to the best DJ Khaled albums, ranked from worst to best.
“We Global” – DJ Khaled (2008)
We Global was DJ Khalid’s third studio album, and it failed to live up to the expectations set by his previous releases. The album featured a lot of guest appearances. However, the songs lacked the energy and creativity that fans had come to expect from DJ Khaled.
“Victory” (2010)
While Victory isn’t necessarily a bad album, it’s definitely not one of DJ Khaled’s best. The album features a lot of big names, including Snoop Dogg, Ludacris, and T-Pain. Nonetheless, the tracks just don’t come together as well as they do on some of his other albums. Notwithstanding, there are a few standout tracks, like “All I Do Is Win” and “Fed Up,” but overall, Victory falls short of expectations.
“Father of Asahd” (2019)
Father of Asahd was DJ Khaled’s eleventh studio album, and it met mixed reviews from critics and fans alike. While the album featured some great collaborations, it lacked the consistency and cohesiveness that fans had come to expect from DJ Khaled.
Suffering from Success – DJ Khaled (2013)
Suffering from Success was DJ Khaled’s seventh studio album, and it was a step in the right direction after his previous disappointments. The album featured some great collaborations, and the songs were catchy and energetic.
Kiss the Ring (2012)
Kiss the Ring was DJ Khaled’s sixth studio album, and it was a return to form for the artist. Interestingly, the album featured some great collaborations, and the songs were catchy and memorable.
Major Key (2016)
Major Key is a solid album that features some of DJ Khaled’s best work. The album features collaborations with everyone from Jay-Z and Future to Nicki Minaj and Drake. While there are a few forgettable tracks on the album, there are also some absolute bangers, like “I Got the Keys.” Overall, Major Key is a great addition to any hip-hop fan’s collection.
We the Best – DJ Khaled (2007)
We the Best is DJ Khaled’s second studio album and one of his best. The album features collaborations with some of the biggest names in hip-hop, including Lil Wayne, T-Pain, and Rick Ross. Additionally, the tracks on the album are catchy and intresting, with standout tracks like “We Takin’ Over” and “Brown Paper Bag.
Grateful (2017)
Grateful is DJ Khaled’s tenth studio album and his best work yet. This album heralded a new era for DJ Khaled, introducing a brighter pop feel to his often rap and hip-hop-centric tunes. Likewise, the album features collaborations with everyone from Beyoncé and Jay-Z to Justin Bieber and Chance the Rapper. The tracks on the album are stylish and catchy, with standout tracks like “Wild Thoughts” and “I’m the One.” Grateful is a testament to DJ Khaled’s talent as a producer and his ability to bring together some big artists in the industry.
God Did – DJ Khaled (2022)
Finally, on our album rank, God Did is the smash hit album of 2022. It brings us all out of our post-pandemic funk and provides us with a hip-hop goldmine to lift our spirits. With appearances from Eminem, SZA, Kanye West, Drake, and Don Toliver, it’s evident that Khaled has up his game. He delivered a dynamic and thrilling record that fans had been requesting. Staying Alive is a terrific R&B interpretation of the Bee Gees’ classic tune. Overall, DJ Khaled’s attitude is nicely captured in the song’s extended music video.
In conclusion, DJ Khaled has had an impressive career in the music industry. He has been producing hit after hit and collaborating with some of the biggest names in hip-hop. While all of his albums have their merits, some stand out above the rest. Whether you’re a die-hard fan or just getting into his music, these albums above are a great place to start.
Twitter’s never the place for consistently positive discourse, but negativity can become comical when it seems so confusing. That’s what’s happening right now on Twitter, as DJ Khaled is trending for a viral tweet calling him fat. Of course, it can be hard to trace original posts on the Internet, but people seem to be focusing on one tweet in particular. “Drake is retiring, Migosbroken, DJ Khaled is fat, Rap game is in shambles rn,” the tweet read. Also, its author included a screenshot of Cillian Murphy holding a gun to his head in the show Peaky Blinders, which is a popular reaction meme right now.
Furthermore, a lot of people are amused at Khaled’s inclusion because, frankly, it’s not necessarily news at this point. While a lot of people took the opportunity to shame DJ Khaled, others recognized how ridiculous the comment is. “Why u gotta pack on dj Khaled like that,” one tweeter expressed. Another wrote, “Dj Khaled part outta pocket.” Still, for all the jokes and confused comments that Twitter could make, the industry titan will likely remain unfazed.
DJ Khaled’s Big Recent Moves
After all, he recently announced a massive partnership between We The Best Music and Def Jam. “I’m bringing my talents, and We The Best, and DJ Khaled to Def Jam Records,” he said during a press conference. “So it’s We The Best, Def Jam, and Cavalry dropping this music group, which I’m very excited [about]. Not only that, but shoutout to Sir Lucian Grainge for, you know, also giving me a major role in the Universal Music Group as a Global Creative- what do you call it? Consultant, yeah, you know what I’m saying? A Global Creative Consultant. I love that I’m going to be able to do that besides putting out my albums.”
“We’re going to be signing artists and we’re actually looking for some new A&Rs to add to the team,” he continued. “We’re going to be doing a lot of big things at We The Best and Def Jam. What I like also about this whole creative consultant thing is that I’m going to be able to touch the whole Universal Music Group. Not just in music, but in marketing, film, TV, just anything dealing with creating.” Check out reactions to his trending status down below and come back to HNHH for the latest on DJ Khaled.
DJ Khaled remains one of the biggest celebrities in the world but many of his supporters also wonder what exactly he does in the studio. He doesn’t rap nor does he produce but he strings together massive collaborations with the most revered artists in the game. He can call in and get a verse from Jay-Z and Drake easier than most while artists like Lil Wayne and Rick Ross are on stand-by whenever an album is on the way.
However, without a star-studded roster, what exactly can an album from DJ Khaled offer? It’s a question that Goodie Mob rapper Big Gipp asked on the latest episode of The Art Of Dialogue. While discussing “All I Do Is Win,” Gipp praised T-Pain’s talents as an artist who can basically do it all. “DJ Khaled is great at what he do,” Gipp said. “But I can turn around and look at a person that’s the real artist and that’s T-Pain. T-Pain really came through and really took it to another level. Song after song, hit after hit. Wrote, produce, singing.”
Big Gipp Questions DJ Khaled’s Job
Big Gipp continued to explain that Khaled owes a lot to T-Pain following the success of “All I Do Is Win.” He suggested that Khaled more or less figured out how to put together a hit record by observing others without actually putting in the groundwork. He added that the next step for Khaled would be to develop relationships in the industry in order to get others to rap on his records. “The first time that I really got to popping was because I got a relationship with T-Pain and he gave me a hook, and after that hook my career took off,” Gipp described Khaled.
“When they say play your biggest records, I hear nothing another n***a voice,” he continued, before reiterating that Khaled didn’t write but he produced the record in a fashion similar to a record label, rather than a producer. “But don’t be telling me you the best at what? Putting a record together?” he said. “But all I’m saying is if you the best, if you the greatest, get out here and show me you can tour without any of them people rapping on your muthafuckin’ record.” Check the full interview above.
DJ Khaled had a sweet message for Rihanna ahead of her Super Bowl halftime show later today (February 12). Moreover, the We The Best mogul spoke to Page Six at Michael Rubin’s Fanatics party at the Arizona Biltmore. While he celebrated Super Bowl weekend along with dozens of A-list stars, he’s more excited for the grand event than anything else. In fact, RiRi and Khaled previously worked on the track “Wild Thoughts” together, which became one of that year’s biggest hits. Before she hits the stage and wows us all, the New Orleans-born hitmaker gave her some encouraging words.
“RiRi, I love you so much,” he expressed. “Congratulations in advance. They changed the name of Super Bowl. It’s called ‘RiRi Super Bowl.’ I’mma have my airhorn ready and I’m going to order me a cheeseburger well done. I’mma sit back, relax, watch the show… come on! It’s Super Bowl!” Also, the publication asked Khaled whether he’d be performing as a special guest. “I’m coming as a fan and Rihanna’s my sister,” he stated, dancing around the inquiry. “I can’t wait to see it. I’m here to support,” he told press present. In addition, he clarified that he’s rooting for the “Diamonds” singer over the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles. “We’re all winners,” he said.
Also, he even performed a bit of his song “All I Do Is Win (Remix),” yelling to the crowd “Welcome to Rubinpalooza!” Elsewhere, he chatted with everyone from Odell Beckham Jr. to Kevin Hart. Other attendees at the event included Jay-Z, Drake, Travis Scott, Winnie Harlow, Teyana Taylor, and many more. Before celebrities from all over gathered to celebrate, Rihanna gave a press conference recently about her show.
“We’ve been working on it for a while, and every day it just gets closer and closer to the finished product,” she shared. “It’s a lot of preparation. This is the week that – it really is [about] being tested. Everyone, we’re just tightening up everything, everybody’s dialing in, everybody’s tuning up and [it’s] a lot of moving parts.” Let us know what song you’re looking forward to the most from Rihanna’s show in the comments below.
