DJ Akademiks’ attention has turned from Tory Lanez and Megan Thee Stallion to Hot 97’s Peter Rosenberg. After a wild week that saw Ak attacking Hip Hop’s Hottie, Rosenberg let off his thoughts: “Akademiks talks a lot of trash for someone who would go broke if Twitch and YouTube got shut down.”

From there, Ak let off his clip:

“Rosenberg, I probably made more this year on Spotify than you’ve made your entire career at Hot 97. I don’t fck with y’all nggas. Y’all been knew. I never apologize to none of y’all, I ain’t fck with y’all, I created my own sht. So, good, I’m glad you said that. It’s on now.”

Ak would go on to say they can fight. “We can meet up and box. I’m not doing it on no celebrity thing.”

Megan Thee Stallion And DJ Akademiks’ War Of Words Continues After Tory Lanez Tried Clarifying His Text Message Apology

Nearly two years after the incident that left her shot in the foot, Tory Lanez and Megan The Stallion’s felony assault case had a pre-trial hearing today. Tory is accused of shooting the rapper back in the summer of 2020 and he faces felony charges for assault with a semi-automatic firearm and carrying a loaded and unregistered firearm in his vehicle. Before the hearing began today, things took a turn when DJ Akademiks tweeted that Tory Lanez’s “DNA WAS NOT found on the weapon” that was used in the alleged crime. This sparked a war of words between the two, while Megan pointed out that the hearing had not begun at the time of Akademiks’ tweet.

Things cooled down for a bit, but picked back up after Tory Lanez himself jumped into the mix. Megan shared a screenshot of Tory apologizing to her the morning after he allegedly shot her. In response to the screenshot, Tory tweeted, “Good D*ick had me f*cking 2 best friends …. and I got caught [shrug emoji] … that’s what I apologized 4 . … it’s sick how u Spun it tho.” This sparked a brief back and forth between Tory and rapper and Megan’s boyfriend Pardi who wrote, “put the phone dwn let’s link .. you n me .. ain’t nothin to talk about.” Megan also responded to Tory’s tweet. “F*cking two best friends… n**** you SHOT ME YOU KNOW WHATS WHAT YOU WERE APOLOGIZING FOR,” she wrote on her Instagram Story. “YOU KEEP PUTTING A NARRATIVE OUT THAT ME AND MY FRIEND FELL OUT ABT YOU AND THATS NOT TRUE! WHY ARE YOU SKIPPING OVER THE SHOOTING JUST ADMIT YOU SHOT ME! BC SHE DEFINITELY AINT DO IT AND I AINT SHOOT MY DAMN SELF.”

Megan continued, “YOU THINK ITS OKAY TO SHOOT ME THEN HARASS ME ONLINE AND MAKE IT LIKE THIS WAS SOME WEIRD CAT FIGHT WHAT THE ACTUAL F*CK IS WRONG WITH YOU.” She also took a moment to address Akademik’s response after she called him at for falsely reporting things. “Big AKKKK??? LITTLE
Boy please,” she wrote on her Instagram Story. “Why would you post there was no DNA FOUND but now saying it’s inconclusive ?? How are YOU Specifically able to see documents before they come out in court?”

Akademiks jumped in with a message of his own on Twitter. “Aye.. i dont give a f*ck bout what u got with tory,” he wrote. “Yall can play yall PR games.. we kno what u n roc nation is doing. i dont care. Just dont try to bring in my brand in there. U literally a Peon in the game. 1501 OWNS u and u beg them everytime to drop a song.” He continued, “U so bothered over my TWEETING out FACTS about tory case. GO ASK THE DA… DNA RESULTS WAS SUBMITTED in discovery… why u care so much what the internet says? OH i know.. U been living off a narrative and its sad u made it where if tory dont go to jail u dont win.”

“WHERE ALL MY HOT GIRLS AT?????” Akademiks continued in another tweet. “Meg.. idc what u n tory had. but dont address big ak unless u talking what the DNA report said. Holla at the DA and figure out what they said and if i Lied. If i Lied.. File the lawsuit babe.”

Megan Thee Stallion Calls Out DJ Akademiks For Falsely Reporting Details Of The Tory Lanez Shooting Case

Megan Thee Stallion isn’t pulling any punches of late, using her Instagram to call out anyone who falsely represents her dealings in court. In one major case, Meg took Carl Crawford, the founder of her label, 1501 Certified Entertainment, to task for celebrating the dismissal of her lawsuit asking the court to allow her to release music after 1501 blocked her from doing so. In a post calling Crawford a bully, she reminded him that she currently has other cases against him, including a new one to force 1501 to count her latest project off her contracted term of four albums.

In the other major case, Meg was due to go to court over the assault case against Tory Lanez for allegedly shooting her in the feet in 2020. However, before the hearing could begin, gossip blogger DJ Akademiks tweeted a major development, prompting Megan to call him out for being on Tory’s payroll.

“BREAKING,” Akademiks wrote. “It was revealed in court a few moments ago that Tory Lanez DNA WAS NOT found on the weapon in the Meg Thee Stallion case.” However, he quickly deleted the misinforming tweet when he was alerted that the hearing hadn’t even begun yet. By then, though, the damage was done, and the effectiveness of the maneuver was shot to holes. Even so, Meg took the opportunity to drag Akademiks for spreading the false info.

“Court ain’t even started so why y’all ready to start lying?” she wondered on her own Instagram Story. “I know some of yall blogs on payroll but please dont get sued trying to create a hate campaign. Be a real journalist and post FACTS. And to my haters… keep making yourself look stupid idc.” She continued her retaliation by naming Akademiks specifically, writing, “Yall got breaking news 15 minutes before court started and nobody has even been called in yet?? Yall tryna win a social media campaign this is MY REAL LIFE! Yall tryna get retweets SPREADING FALSE NARRATIVES! @iamakademiks Why are you lying? What did you gain?”

Akademiks later tried to clean up the error, claiming that he had seen court documents backing up his statements, but with the next hearing in April, it’ll be a while before anything he says is confirmed — let alone what the ultimate verdict will be. Meanwhile, Nancy Dillon, a real reporter for Rolling Stone, shot down Akademiks’ explanation, tweeting “There was ZERO mention of DNA at the Tory Lanez hearing today.” Again, check those sources, folks.

Roddy Ricch Says ‘Live Life Fast’ Would’ve Sold More Copies If It Was Released At An Earlier Date

Back in December, Roddy Ricch released his long-awaited second album, Live Life Fast, featuring Future, Kodak Black, 21 Savage, Ty Dolla Sign, Gunna, and more. Alas, listeners were not too impressed with it, only debuting at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 — an underwhelming release, especially when compared to his debut album Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial which spent multiple weeks at No. 1.

During a recent interview with DJ Akademiks, Roddy Ricch responded to the criticism behind the album and said it would’ve performed better if it dropped closer to when its lead single, “Late At Night,” was released. “That song was such a crazy song that people caught on two to three months later,” Roddy said. “If I would have dropped an album within that [time frame] and did whatever I did, I would have dropped and I would have been 180k up.” Roddy also said that he isn’t letting the negative criticism get to him.

“Just because the numbers didn’t align up or the timing or the plan didn’t really fall the way it was supposed to fall, now ni***s got this different narrative of how they wanna play it, but I know what’s going on,” he said. “That sh*t is cool, they can play it however they wanna play it, but I still know I’m an earner.”

Fans Are Confused About Meek Mill And Rick Ross’s Relationship After Birthday Party Drama Rumors

Fans of the team chemistry between the rappers of Maybach Music Group were distraught when a rumor surfaced on social media that two of the label’s flagship artists, Meek Mill and Rick Ross, might be on bad terms. The rumor postulates that Meek denied Ross entry to his birthday party (or his VIP section) over the weekend due to a disagreement stemming from Meek’s request to prematurely end his contract with MMG. Now fans are worried that the two longtime partners-in-rhyme have serious beef over the incident.

However, some digging revealed that the only source for this information comes from known rabble-rouser/video game streamer DJ Akademiks, who described the event during a recent stream but didn’t mention any names. Because of Akademiks’s tension with Meek Mill, fans naturally reached the conclusion that Akademiks was talking about Meek and Ross. It should be noted, however, that as Akademiks was not in attendance at the party in question, his reliability as a source is shaky at best, and given his relationship with one of the artists subject to the rumor, has to be taken with a brick-sized grain of salt.

Of course, a little thing like basic journalistic principle will never stop the Twitter rumor mill from churning. Once Akademiks’s video was aggregated into a Bossip tweet, the buzz began in earnest. We’ll have to see how this “story” develops, but for now, you can see some of the fan reactions below.
