Did DDG And Halle Bailey Break Up?

As Valentine’s Day approaches, love is in the air. However, based on whispers across social media, hip-hop and R&B’s hottest young couple DDG and Halle Bailey may be sending the lover’s holiday apart. The pair began their romance in January 2022 and have been publicly spotted in public ever since, including on the red carpet at the BET Awards.

Rapper and YouTuber DDG has spoken about how the singer has motivated him, centered his love for her in his past music videos, and used his platform to speak out against racist trolls targeting her starring role in Disney’s The Little Mermaid live-action adaptation. However, after fans noticed that DDG was no longer following Bailey on Instagram, they began questioning if the pair had quietly called it quits.

In a now-deleted tweet, DDG wrote, “All girls are the same.” Without context, the internet began to think that the singer had stepped out of the relationship, but Bailey’s oldest sister took to social media to clear Halle’s name. In the video, she said, “you’re not going to come on social media and insinuate that she was doing something that she wasn’t doing. You need to pipe down and get yourself together.”

After pushback, DDG retired to Twitter to seemingly address the rumors of the singer cheating, writing, “The internet so gullible.”

So, did they break up? It looks like the jury is out for now — but all the signs are there. We’ll have to wait until they confirm it one way or another; ’til then, it’s all just speculation.

Fans Think DDG & Halle Bailey Broke Up

Another Hip Hop couple may have called it quits—that is if you are to believe the rumors about DDG and Halle Bailey. It was just over a year ago when the pair were rumored to have vacationed together. Soon, they were displaying their love to the public, and while it seemed like an unlikely match, their bond quickly grew on fans. However, things seem to have changed online, and people have speculated as to the status of their relationship.

The rapper recently tweeted, “All these girls the same.” He dropped off a crying emoji and added, “Ain’t no wayy.” Then, people noticed that DDG scrubbed his Instagram clean of memories with Bailey. Further, it looked like they no longer follow one another on Instagram, either. It didn’t take long for social media users to hop online with their takes on what could have happened.

Despite sharing tender moments with the masses, DDG and Bailey were a private couple. They didn’t let the world into too many of their intimate moments, but when they did, they boasted about one another. Back in November, the rapper visited The Breakfast Club and detailed why he was so taken with Bailey.

“I’ve never been with nobody that’s like really motivated me like she do,” he said at the time. “I’m seeing different sh*t. I ain’t really been around this type of sh*t before. So, it’s like, she’s bringing me around sh*t that I ain’t really—you know what I’m saying?” DDG added, “I was my own person before her, but in a way, she put me on to different sh*t. That’s dope because I’m usually the one putting motherf*ckers on.”

Meanwhile, after unfollowing Bailey, DDG seemingly re-followed after going viral. People also believed he was insinuating that Halle cheated, which didn’t bode over well. It was further noted that DDG isn’t private regarding his love life, but for Halle, this is the first public relationship she’s shared. The rapper earned himself backlash from Bailey’s fans. DDG Explains Supporting Gunna Against Snitching Accusations

After Gunna was released from jail after accepting a plea deal and it has been non-stop allegations of snitching on YSL. Gunna’s team has denied the rapper cooperated with authorities while agreeing to a guilty plea, but the conversations haven’t ceased. DDG recently came forward to defend his “Elon Musk” collaborator, prompting a complaint from Tekashi 6ix9ine.

According to the controversial artist, his peers didn’t react the same way toward him as they are in defense of Gunna. DDG addressed criticism during a Livestream with DJ Akademiks.

Akademiks brought up that several artists haven’t openly shared opinions about Gunna. According to the blogger, some are watching comment sections to see how the public responds.

“I think that’s fake, though,” said DDG. “If you f*ck with him, then you f*ck with him. I don’t really be looking.”

“Me personally, I don’t claim to be like, in the streets or like, a part of none of that bullsh*t,” he also shared. “I’m thinking about gettin’ money, you know what I mean? So, it’s like, I look at Gunna as a cool n*gga. A n*gga that embraced me as an artist and put me in a different type of space. On some like—not necessarily some big homie sh*t, but like, I just f*ck with him a different type of way than—I don’t know. That sh*t ain’t got nothin’ to do with me.”

DDG admitted that he and Gunna aren’t best friends but further said he only communicates with a handful of people in the industry.

“I ain’t finna switch up over no allegations or whatever other n*ggas sayin’. I just don’t ride waves. That’s just not what I do.”

Meanwhile, the RICO case against the remaining YSL co-defendants is moving forward. We’re in the thick of jury selections, which has been a journey all its own. It was recently reported that the judge ordered a juror who missed a hearing to write a 30-page essay in lieu of a 20-day jail sentence.

Twitter Reacts To DDG Claiming YouTubers Make More Money Than Rappers

DDG recently sparked an online debate after tweeting yesterday (Dec. 6) that YouTubers bring in more money than rappers. And with the 25-year-old being both, he certainly has insight on the topic.

“Ngl.. youtubers/streamers make more money than rappers & it’s not even close,” he wrote on Twitter, leading to thousands of likes and retweets.

MrBeast replied to the tweet soon after with a simple comment, writing, “Interesting.”

The social media star has over 100 million subscribers on the video-sharing platform. Last month, it was announced that he had the most subscribers compared to any other YouTuber, a title that once belong to PewDiePie.

Rapper, boxer, and YouTuber KSI also chimed in on the topic. Breaking down the pros of his different careers, the “Number 2” rapper replied, “YouTube/Streaming = most money Music = most respect mainstream wise Boxing = most respect online wise.”

Sharing why he thinks YouTubers bring in more bucks, content creator and streaming star Stable Ronaldo also claimed that they are able to better connect with their fans.

“YouTubers/streamers connect way better with their audience IMO then artists in terms of working with them and I think that leads to more $,” he tweeted, adding that “keeping up with daily trends/ideas” also helps drive their content.

Still, some weren’t entirely convinced.

One user tweeted under DDG’s post, “Eh, I would say the top top tier rappers making more, but more than your average rapper, yeah.”

“So you tryna tell me someone like adin Ross/ Mr beast makes more money than drake?” another tweeted in response.

DDG’s New ‘9 Lives’ Video Revisits His Past Alongside Polo G And NLE Choppa

DDG is celebrating the arrival of It’s Not Me It’s You on Friday (September 30) by recounting his struggle to get here. The Michigan-bred rapper simultaneously dropped the music video for “9 Lives,” the project’s opening track, featuring NLE Choppa And Polo G.

Directed by Michael Daniel, the four-minute visual finds DDG revisiting his old neighborhood, with a young boy presumably serving as a younger DDG — filling up a pot with water in the kitchen, boiling it on the stove to use for a bath. “But for my family, that’s alright, I’m doing anything,” present-day DDG raps, watching the boy boxing outside while his parents argue about bills inside.

NLE performs his verse from a church pew, mentioning a Percocet problem in 2019, and Polo G provides his insight from the block at night.

It’s Not Me It’s You follows the footsteps of DDG’s Epic Records debut album Valedictorian from November 2019. In between, DDG was named to the 2021 XXL Freshman Class last June and dropped his Die 4 Respect mixtape.

DDG has previously shared It’s Not Me It’s You singles “If I Want You” with real-life girlfriend Halle Bailey including a steamy music video, “Stay In My Circle,” “Storyteller,” and “Elon Musk” featuring Gunna. The project’s full tracklist was revealed last week. Check it below.

DDG Unloads “It’s Not Me It’s You” With Gunna, NLE Choppa & More

DDG returns with his sophomore effort It’s Not Me It’s You, giving fans a deeper look into the highs and lows of his personal and professional life. On the 12-track album, the 24-year old tackles mature topics as he navigates love, success and a sprinkle of toxicity throughout the record.

DDG tapped some of hip hop’s most polarizing talents for INMIY, including Kevin Gates for track number eight entitled, “Love Myself”— and as well as NLE Choppa and Polo G on the album’s opening track, “9 Lives.” Last month, the Michigan native released  his single “If I Want You,” which features his girlfriend Halle Bailey as his leading lady.

Earlier this year, he dropped “Elon Musk” featuring Gunna, giving fans a taste of what they can expect from the album. The young rapper/boxer has been on the up and up as far as his music career goes. On a personal level, DDG recently celebrated his charges being dropped after he was arrested in June for driving his Lamborghini erratically.

DDG’s ‘It’s Not Me It’s You’ Tracklist Features Gunna, Polo G, Kevin Gates And More

DDG has been actively honing his boxing skills in the squared circle, going so far as to compare himself to Floyd Mayweather, and enjoying a life of love with his girlfriend Halle Bailey, one half of the pop duo Chloe x Halle. The 24-year-old is now looking to bring the hits and romance musically next Friday (September 30) as he gears up for his next project titled It’s Not Me It’s You. The rapper has assembled quite a cast of features to get the job done.

The 12-track effort will include appearances from Gunna, Polo G, Kevin Gates, NLE Choppa, and Babyface Ray. The Gunna-assisted “Elon Musk” has already been shared with the world, in addition to “If I Want You,” “Stay In My Circle,” and “Storyteller.” Thus, fans will be treated to eight completely new tracks next week. “If I Want You” was especially notable as the video featured DDG getting steamy with his lady, Halle Bailey.

As for 2022, DDG also appeared on Blueface’s “Meat This,” Baby Rich’s “Roll Tide,” and “Worth It” from Traetwothree’s Out The District. With momentum heading into It’s Not Me It’s You, and no shortage of confidence, time will tell if the tracks hit like the Mayweather jabs DDG aspires to possess.
