Dave East And Cruch Calhoun Team Up For “30 For 30”

East Harlem, New York rapper Dave East is another of those grimy lyricists that just produces consistency. Since 2010, he has been dropping tons of projects, sometimes multiple times a year. 2023 has been another one of the instances for East. Back in the middle of July, he dropped a lengthy project, Fortune Favors the Bold.

That tape brought on the likes of Ty Dolla $ign, Jadakiss, G-Eazy, Tyga, Coi Leray, Cordae, Ghostface Killah, and more. His aggressive tone across a good deal of the tracks is something that fans have been accustomed to for years and it delivered in a big way. Now, with the success of that album, he is back with presumably one more before the end of 2023. However, he is not doing it alone.

Dave East & G-Eazy Are Carefree On Summer Banger “WDGAF”

By the middle of the month, Dave East plans to make his mark on the hip-hop industry with his Fortune Favors The Bold album. We’ve previously heard the New Yorker reflecting on the struggles of being wealthy in his “Rich Problems” single and giving us a sequel to a previous Nipsey Hussle and Bino Rideaux collaboration in the form of “Clarity Pt. 2.” On top of that, the legendary lyricist also had some fun remixing Lil Uzi Vert’s “Just Wanna Rock” alongside Nino Man.

This New Music Friday (June 30), East finally tapped in with G-Eazy for the first time, giving us a summer banger called “WDGAF.” As the title suggests, the track finds the artists chiefly trading braggadocious bars about their luxurious lifestyles, allowing them to take a carefree approach to things. “When they see me in the street, they be callin’ out my name / Back the f**k up, you keep foggin’ out my frame,” the “Perfect” hitmaker cautions his over-eager fans.

Dave East and G-Eazy’s First Collab, “WDGAF,” is Here

For his part, G-Eazy keeps his bars short and simple. “Karats, baguettes, I’m there to collect / We fly overseas, I Paris the jet,” he rhymes on the second verse. “She f**kin’ a rapper, her parents upset / She lie to her man, she still got me on her breath,” he continues before reuniting with East for one final chorus.

Quotable Lyrics:

Look, I do it so big, you would’ve thought I signed with Diddy
Only hit it once and she got Pablo on her ti**ies
Flowers by the union, I’m like Ralo in my city
If she swallow, I might I follow, I got oallows in this semis

Dave East & Nino Man Give Lil Uzi Vert A Run For Their Money On “I Wanna Rocc (EASTMIX)”

When Lil Uzi Vert dropped off “Just Wanna Rock” back in 2022, they likely didn’t anticipate it would gain the mass momentum that it since has. From Beyoncé borrowing the choreography during the opening night of her RENAISSANCE World Tour to now, Dave East sharing a remix, it’s safe to say the single is a certified hit. The New Yorker’s version of the popular song arrived on Monday (May 22), along with a feature from Nino Man and an accompanying music video that finds the duo partying with friends.

East kicks things off on the first verse, offering up rhymes like “Bitch in her feelings I told her I’m done, no way I could break up and leave / I know I’m a target, them n*ggas ain’t aimin’ at you bruh they aimin’ at me,” and “I’m everything that I’ve been claiming to be / Nothin’ but scammers and gangsters with me.” For his part, Nino also impresses with his lyricism later on in “I Wanna Rocc (EASTMIX).”

Dave East and Nino Man Put Their Spin on LUV’s “Just Wanna Rock”

The single is certainly not the first to arrive from the east coast icon this year. He’s been steadily dropping off both solo and collaborative efforts such as “Thiccer Than Water” with Uncle Murda, “Grew Up in Hell” alongside Quany Gz, and back in March, “Above Water” all by himself. More recently, East revealed that he’s working on a gym-inspired album alongside Jim Jones, Fabolous, and Maino, much to fans’ excitement.

Millyz Unveils Highly-Anticipated “Blanco 6” Ft. Jadakiss, G Herbo & More

One of the most ferocious lyricists in the game right now is Millyz. The Massachussets-based MC has earned incredible praise through his penmanship alone. His freestyles have gone viral while artists, from Jadakiss to Kodak Black, have co-signed his releases. All of the momentum Millyz built positioned him to make a major splash in the rap game and he certainly isn’t taking any of it for granted. Over the past few weeks, he unleashed a handful of records in anticipation of his next studio album.

Millyz built a strong discography within his time in the game but it’s the Blanco series that made his name known to the masses. He released the first installment in 2018, boasting features from underground titans like Smoke DZA and Nino Man. However, each of the subsequent releases within this series showed him getting hungrier and better. Last year’s Blanco 5 found Millyz trading bars with the likes of Fivio Foreign, Dave East, Styles P, and more.

Millyz Unveils “Blanco 6”

After much anticipation, he returned this week with the sixth installment in the fan-favorite series. Blanco 6 includes 18 songs in total with a run time of 48 minutes. This time, Millyz builds on the chemistry he had with a few close collaborators. Jadakiss slides through on “Moon Roof,” followed by G Herbo on “Becoming.” Additionally, Dave East, Berner, Albee Al, Leaf Ward, and Sada James appear on the tracklist. Millyz razor sharp flow and street tales take center stage in this one with an even more refined sound.

As most fans celebrate the project’s release, Blanco 6 was subjected to a brief feud against Rae Sremmurd, who dropped Sremm 4 Life today, as well. The sample of Eminem’s “Stan” on “Tonight” led Slim Jxmmi to diss Millyz rendition on the record, largely because they also used the sample for Swae Lee’s heavily-teased, “Not So Bad (Lean’s Gone Cold).” It seems like water under the bridge between the two artists. Check out Millyz new project above and sound off with your thoughts in the comments.
