YNW Melly’s Mom Reacts To Allegations He Tried To Escape Prison

It feels like there’s a new development weekly in YNW Melly’s case that won’t work in his favor. This week, it’s allegations that he tried to escape prison. The Florida Prison Board accused the rapper of trying to plan a prison break with another inmate.

The Broward County Sheriff’s General Counsel’s Office laid out the allegations after they were laid out in court on Wednesday.

“On April 11, 2022, Broward Sheriff’s Office received a confidential tip regarding inmates Nicholas Lewis and Jamell Demons, both housed in the same unit at the Main Jail, planning an escape from jail by having Demons’ attorney bring in two handcuff keys to aid in the escape. Additional information provided by the source was that Lewis had a shank and drugs,” the statement read, per Complex.

In response to the accusations, YNW Melly’s mom hit back at prosecutors in an Instagram video. She said that she only caught the headlines while at work. However, she took time to shoot down the theories that her son attempted to break out of prison.

“First of all, this is just another tactic for them to try to literally tarnish my son’s character and everything,” she said. The rapper’s mom believes the recent accusations against her son is part of a strategy for the prosecutors to secure a conviction.

“They do not want him having attorney visits in person, which will cause for ineffective counsel. So, we went to court for that, and they took his phone calls and they have him locked down. They had no evidence whatsoever that his attorneys did anything wrong to prove these accusations but they knew it would get picked up by the media,” she said. “So when we get ready to pick a jury, hopefully, in the next two weeks, it’s going to be ‘Oh, this kid tried to escape. Oh, this kid tried to do all these things.’”

She described all of the recent allegations surrounding Melly’s prison behavior as “fake because they do not have a case.”

“It’s still Free Melly until he’s free,” she concluded.

YNW Melly Caught Planning Escape From Jail According To Florida Sheriff’s Office

YNW Melly’s long-spanning murder case just got a lot more interesting.

According to Complex, a Florida Sheriff’s Office accused the 23-year-old – born Jamell Demons – of attempting to plan a breakout from prison alongside another inmate named Nicholas Lewis using the help of Melly’s attorney.

YNW Melly, real name Jamell Demons, is seen in a police booking photo after being charged with two counts of murder in the first degree February 13, 2019 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Demons allegedly conspired with Cortlen Henry to fatally shot two other Florida based rappers, Christopher Thomas Jr and Anthony Williams, October 26. The damning allegations were revealed on Tuesday (September 27) in court, and in the days after, the Broward County Sheriff’s General Counsel’s Office provided more information to the outlet about the “Murder on my Mind” artist’s current situation.

“On April 11, 2022, Broward Sheriff’s Office received a confidential tip regarding inmates Nicholas Lewis and Jamell Demons, both housed in the same unit at the Main Jail, planning an escape from jail by having Demons’ attorney bring in two handcuff keys to aid in the escape,” they explained. “Additional information provided by the source was that Lewis had a shank and drugs.”

Upon searching Lewis’ cell, multiple items were uncovered, including a six-inch shank, two razor blades, two lighters, and rolling papers. On top of that, the inmate was also reportedly holding both Seroquel and Klonopin pills, neither of which he has a prescription for.

Melly’s cell search yielded less troubling results, although officers did find food from the commissary and what’s been described as an “excessive [amount] of jail-issued clothing.”

“The confidential source gave us two pieces of information. One of them [about the shank and drugs] turned out to be a hundred percent true,” Assistant General Counsel Christian Tsoubanos explained on Tuesday in court. “And when they did the search of Demons’ cell, they did not find the handcuff key, but it could have been that there was not an opportunity to bring it into the facility yet.”

After the news went public, the attorney for the mother of one of Melly’s alleged victims shared a statement, saying, “As an attorney for a victim, we strongly feel any attempts to escape justice point to guilt.”

“This matter needs to be fully investigated, including the attorney’s involvement. Certainly, there are times when informants and even government agents are wrong or engaging in misconduct, but we’ve seen so much in this case from rooftop stripper parties across to diamond teeth dentist needs, this is yet another chapter in what needs to just be finished in court.”

It’s also been noted that, during his time behind bars since 2019, Melly has made over three thousand calls to his girlfriend, Erran Barnett, resulting in his phone privileges being taken away as he only used his own personal identification number to make 22 of them.

One of the rapper’s attorneys, Raven Liberty, has been accused of handing out her phone login credentials to others so they can make “non-recorded video visitation” calls with the Florida native.

C Blu Arrested Again After Beating Cop Shooting Case: Report

He managed to dodge charges after shooting a police officer but C Blu hasn’t stayed out of trouble. We previously reported on the 17-year-old’s run-in with the law back in January when cops were reportedly responding to a disturbance call. Williams got into a physical altercation with the police and during the ruckus, an officer was shot in the leg.

It was later determined that the officers didn’t have cause to search the teen, so he was released from jail and the charges were later dropped. However, the New York Post now reports that Williams is back in custody.

The outlet stated that the authorities stopped Williams when they saw him “running towards a car fumbling with his waistband.” When searched, cops claim they found a firearm “with a live round in the chamber and 11 rounds in the magazine.”

Williams has been detained and charged with criminal weapons possession as well as obstruction of government administration. Yet, his mother, Monique McGriff, reportedly stated that the gun does not belong to her son.

“It was another stop that shouldn’t have happened,” she reportedly said. “Another stop and frisk and the same group of kids being targeted by the same cops and them finding something that didn’t belong to my son. It’s not fair at all.”

Police Arrest Stepmother Of Teen Identified As PNB Rock’s Killer

Another development in the PNB Rock case emerged today. Police arrested a woman related to the other two suspects who allegedly played a role in the case.

LAPD Online reports that they arrested the stepmother of the teen accused of killing the “Selfish” artist on Wednesday. Police took 32-year-old Shauntel Trone taken into custody and charged her with accessory to murder. Authorities arrested Shantel hours after her step-son who now faces murder charges.

Now, the case is in the hands of the Los Angeles District Attorney for filing consideration.

Two out of the three suspects in the case are in police custody. Still, police are seeking any information on Freddie Lee Trone, the 17-year-old’s father and Shantel’s husband. The LAPD warned that Trone is “armed and dangerous.” They urged the public to bring forth any information they might have.

Police believe Trone was the getaway driver while his son entered Roscoe’s where he robbed PNB Rock’s jewelry and fatally shot him.

The rapper was eating dinner at the famed West Coast food joint with the mother of his two children at the time of the attack. Police said that Trone and his son were in the parking lot by the time PNB Rock arrived. The police theory counters those on the Internet suggesting that his girlfriend’s Instagram Post led to his death.

PNB Rock was buried in Philadelphia on September 21st.

R. Kelly Ordered To Pay Sexual Abuse Victims $300K For Herpes & Psychological Treatment

R. Kelly’s bank account is drying up after a judge ordered him to cough up six-figures to his sexual abuse victims.

A federal judge in Brooklyn ruled on Wednesday that the singer will have to cough up $300K to one of his sexual abuse victims for treatment towards herpes and psychological treatment.

Kelly’s conviction in New York already sent him to prison but the latest update from the judge details the monetary punishment he’s facing. A victim named “Jane” must receive $300K from Kellz to cover treatment for STDs and psychological help due to the trauma she suffered. A judge issued a similar order for another victim named “Stephanie.” However, the judge didn’t set a number yet. A judge also denied a third victim restitution.

A judge handed down a 30-year sentence to R. Kelly this year in the federal New York case.

Kelly was also convicted in another federal case in Chicago where he was accused of similar sex crimes. However, the case also surrounded the 2008 child pornography trial, where he was accused of obstruction.

There’s a good chance R. Kelly will have to cough up even more money for the victims in the Chicago case, though a judge hasn’t determined how much.

Kelly’s recent court filings revealed that he is down on cash these days. Earlier this month, a judge ruled to seize $27K out of his commissary account, leaving the singer with only $500. The amount seized from his commissary will be distributed among his victims.

Cardi B Says Everyone Owes PnB Rock’s GF An Apology After New Details EmergeFr

As Hip Hop reels from the loss of PnB Rock, there have been several updates this morning (September 28) about his murder case. We previously reported that the authorities have zeroed in on several suspects, two of which has already been taken into custody. The other has been named as Freddie Lee Trone, a man that investigators have called “armed and dangerous.”

As we await more information about the unfolding of this case, Cardi B has tuned in and is shedding light on people who attacked Rock’s girlfriend, Stephanie Sibounheuang.

(Photo by Paras Griffin/Getty Images for Sprite)

Immediately after the news of PnB Rock’s callous murder was shared with the public, Sibounheuang found herself as prey for a vicious public. People blamed her for posting that she and the rapper were out at a restaurant, speculating that Sibounheuang was to blame for the assailants knowing where Rock was and targeting him in a robbery.

However, reports stated that a 17-year-old was named as the shooter and has been detained. He is reportedly the son of Freddie Lee Trone who has yet to be located, and it has been said Trone was the getaway driver. TMZ stated that Shauntel Trone, the stepmother to the teen, has also been arrested on suspicion of accessory to murder. The suspects allegedly burned their vehicle following the incident.

Additionally, the outlet claimed that their sources revealed Trone and his son were allegedly already in the parking lot of Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles when PnB Rock arrived. If true, that would mean social media was not a factor in the rapper’s death.

In the wake of this update, Cardi B believes that there are several people who owe Rock’s girlfriend an apology for adding to her grief.

“Told y’all……Yall must not know how the hood moves,” Cardi wrote. “Y’all owe that girl a apology for the sh*t y’all put her through knowing that she saw her baby dad die in her face….Social media investigators YALL SUCK!!!!”

We will keep you updated as this case progresses.

Gunna Files 3rd Motion For Bond, Argues “No Evidence” For Holding Him

Gunna is once again filing another bond motion, this time arguing that there is “no evidence” to support the prosecution’s claim that he’s dangerous. Gunna was booked, along with Young Thug and 28 other members of YSL, for a 56-count Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) indictment back in May.

“The State has presented no evidence to support its claims of dangerousness and has dismissed the only serious overt act (75) that was present when the first bond hearing was held,” Gunna’s legal team wrote in their request for a new hearing.

(Photo by Paras Griffin/Getty Images for BMI)

Steven Sadow, who co-leads Gunna’s counsel, explained in a statement provided to Complex on Wednesday: “Sergio Kitchens (Gunna) is very hopeful that the Court will now recognize that the discovery provided by the prosecution fails to show his pretrial release poses a significant risk of danger to any person or the community or poses a significant threat to witnesses, and accordingly grants a reasonable bond.”

Gunna is being charged with one count of Conspiracy to violate a RICO Act. If his third bond hearing is unsuccessful, he will likely remain behind bars until his January 2023 trial date.

Young Thug has also been denied a bond of his own. In total, the YSL indictment includes charges of murder, armed robbery, participation in criminal street gang activity, and more.

PNB Rock Murder: Police Identify Teen As Shooter, Father As Getaway Driver

More information emerged in the case of PNB Rock’s murder. As reported earlier today, police made an arrest while a second suspect, Freddie Lee Trone, is currently on the run. Police called Trone “armed & dangerous,” urging the public to provide any information on the suspect.

Police arrested the 17-year-old son of Trone on Tuesday in Gardena, according to TMZ. LAPD reps said the son was the shooter while the father acted as a the getaway driver.

Sources said that the son and father duo were already in the Roscoe’s parking lot when PNB Rock arrived.

The revelation of the suspects location prior to the shooting eliminates theories of social media’s role in the attack. Police said that his girlfriend shared a photo of their meal with the geolocation 20 minutes before he was shot. Fans suspected she was at fault for his death. The flurry of commentary that followed prompted varying opinions on the safety of rappers in the Instagram era.

Police explained the son ran into the establishment where he robbed PNB Rock of his jewelry before fatally shooting the rapper. From there, he fled the scene, hopping into the vehicle with his father, and burning the car.

Family and friends of the late rapper gathered on September 21st in Philadelphia for a traditional Muslim burial service.

We’ll keep you updated on anymore information regarding the arrest of PNB Rock’s alleged killers.

PNB Rock Murder Suspect Identified, Police Say He’s “Armed & Dangerous”: Report

LAPD made an arrest in the case of PNB Rock’s murder, though a second suspect is still at large.

A police bulletin on Tuesday identified Freddie Lee Trone as a suspect in the rapper’s murder, NBC L.A Reports. Though they believe he’s armed and dangerous. However, there are few details surrounding Trone’s involvement available yet. Authorities described the suspect as a member of a Los Angeles street gang.

Police said they arrested another suspect near Gardena on Tuesday morning, though they haven’t released a name yet.

LAPD haven’t determined the roles of the suspect, since they believe the second person involved served as a getaway driver.

The culprits robbed and killed PNB Rock on Sept. 12th at Roscoe’s in Inglewood. Shortly after the rapper’s death, police said they haven’t ruled out social media’s role in the incident. Police said his girlfriend’s Instagram post revealing their location could’ve led to his death.

Police said the Instagram post shared 20 minutes before the attack may have led the suspects to the restaurant. Authorities suggested there was a good chance that that the Instagram post potentially put a target on PNB Rock’s back.

Additionally, the police investigation focused on PNB Rock’s beefs. With ties to Philadelphia and Atlanta, police suggested that the rapper’s past feuds may have led to his death.

We’ll continue to keep you posted on any more updates surrounding the arrests in PNB Rock’s murder case.

Boosie Looks Back On Life Before Prison

Baton Rouge rapper Torrence Hatch, A.K.A “Lil Boosie”, recently went on Revolt and reflected on some of the decisions he’s made in the past. When asked if he would have made different choices the rapper responded with: “I woulda done everything different. I woulda took rapping serious, like, 8-9 years ago. I woulda done it totally different if I could take it back, ’cause I ain’t wanna go to jail man.”

On October 22, 2008, Hatch was arrested after police found marijuana and a Glock in his car. Boosie pled guilty to the drug charges and was sentenced to two years in prison.

The rapper was electronically monitored and placed under house arrest between the time of his plea and sentencing; unfortunately for the 39-year-old, his sentence was doubled once authorities found out he had broken house arrest, thus, violating his probation. In the summer of 2010, Boosie was also charged with first-degree murder. He was 26 at the time.

In late 2009, during his last few hours as a free man, the controversial figure would sit down and talk about his life decisions before being put behind bars soon after. “They’re treating me on who they think I am,” he said at the time. “They judging me on Boosie Bad Azz, not Torrence Hatch.”

The “Wipe Me Down” recording artist explained to Revolt that there’s a difference between the music he makes and the life he actually lives. He also went on to explain the reason for breaking his house arrest, stating that he was sued by promoters for missing his concert dates and was worried that if he missed more shows he wouldn’t have the money to support his family. Boosie was a father of seven at the time, with one more on the way.

“I had to go do these two shows these last two days to feed my family,” Hatch recalled.

The Louisiana-born star is 39 now, and while he wishes he would have done things differently in the past, he understands that he put himself in those situations. “I ain’t wanna go to jail bro. But that’s how it goes, you know? I chose that life,” Torrence admitted during his Revolt interview.

That said, prison may not have been a complete waste of time for the rapper. Boosie has since gone on record to say he wrote over 1,000 songs while locked up, check out more on that here.
