Tyla Shares Her Feelings On Being Compared To Rihanna

R&B singer Tyla has a massive breakout year in 2023. She released her song “Water” in the first half of last year and it became one of the biggest hits of the year. The song slowly rose up the charts eventually peaking inside the top 10 of the Hot 100 at number 7. At the same time, the song became a chart topper on the Hot R&B Songs chart marking her first number one. This year she’s capitalizing on that breakout with a self-titled album.

TYLA dropped in March and debuted inside the top 25 of the Billboard 200. The album featured appearances from Gunna, Skillibeng, Tems, Beck G, and Travis Scott. Cementing the singer’s rise to stardom, she recently did a cover story for Cosmopolitan. One question asked of the 22-year-old was about comparisons to another singer who achieved massive success at a young age, Rihanna. While she made it clear she was honored by the comparisons and took it as a compliment, she also specified that she wants to be her own artist. Check out her full interview below.

Tyla’s star could have potentially risen even more this year if she had embarked on the world tour she announced. Unfortunately, she was forced to cancel the tour due to health reasons. Julia Fox Rails Against “Sexual Being” Label The Media Has Given Her

Julia Fox laid bare her frustrations for her Cosmopolitan cover interview. In particular, she’s tired of being viewed as a sexual object for the fashion choices she makes. “Anyone getting mad at me for showing a lot of skin has slapped this label on me as a sexual being. But I’m so much more than that — and sex is the last f-cking thing I do with this body. I’m proud of my body. Why wouldn’t I wear something revealing, really cool and artsy? Your boner isn’t on me, that’s on you!” Fox told the outlet.

Furthermore, Fox turned her ire on women who judge other women. “It just really goes to show how even women want other women to stay in line. Cover up, dress down, dim your light. Women’s bodies should be celebrated and shouldn’t just be viewed as sexual objects,” she argued. To further her point, Fox’s outfits for the magazine were very becoming of her style. The cover image sees a nude, crouching Fox wearing a baseball cap, matching stockings and gloves, and fur boots.

Julia Fox Gives Pete Davidson A Suggestion

While Fox may be tired of being pigeonholed as “sexual”, that doesn’t stop her from talking about length about the world of sex. In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Julia Fox brought up the internet’s favorite topic – Pete Davidson. The model and former Kanye fling suggested that the tabloids’ favorite comedian should hire a particular kind of sex worker. “I think he probably needs to see a dominatrix. I could see him really liking the deprecation. Like, ‘you’re a little b-tch,’ things like that, I could see him getting off to that. Just a hunch,” Fox suggested. Fox and Davidson once posed together in a Barbie-themed shoot for Paper. However, she didn’t offer anything else on why she thought the experience would be beneficial for Davidson.

The interview was in service of promoting her new memoir, which is out later this year. Elsewhere, Fox has also spoken on the chapters of the book that address her time with Kanye. “I had my son, and then he want to talk on the phone a lot, and I’d have to change diapers. I bought a pair of AirPods so I could keep it in while I was doing mom stuff. It was so overwhelming and so unsustainable. Ultimately, I cannot put anybody else first. My son has to be first. It just became too much. I didn’t sign up to have two babies. I couldn’t do it. It felt like two babies,” Fox told Drew Barrymore.

“Thank you so much @cosmopolitan for this fun issue link in stories to article,” she captioned one post sharing the cover. In response to the latest upload, fans theorized that she’s hiding a pregnancy. “Lmao yup she’s pregnant! Congrats girl. Can’t wait for the announcement,” one wrote. Another user defended Bailey: “Why do y’all feel entitled to this woman’s body like she is obligated to tell you if she is or is not pregnant. It’s literally weird asf. seek help.”

As for the actual interview with Cosmopolitan, Bailey spoke about working on her debut EP. She says that her recent success in acting, such as starring in The Little Mermaid, has sparked her creativity. “Ariel was my college experience. She was the one to say, ‘Look, look what you have in you. You can.’ Nettie was the same type of lesson, almost in a spiritual way. These characters are speaking to me and teaching me,” she said. “It’s cool to learn things about life through their eyes.”

Additionally, Bailey spoke about her relationship with DDG, which she says is also serving as inspiration for the new project. “Love has been a really big one for me too, because that’s something I’m experiencing for the first time, and it’s, like, ‘whoa’ in your brain. It’s just fireworks, a spark for creativity,” she explained. Bailey also confirmed that she considers DDG her first real love. “You know, you have puppy love experiences, you think that’s love. Halle Bailey Reflects On “Love” For DDG Influencing Her Upcoming EP

Halle Bailey says that she’s “in love” with DDG and recently discussed how that experience has inspired her creativity while working on her debut solo EP. Speaking with Cosmopolitan, Bailey hinted at the direction of the new music while confirming that it’s “definitely” dropping this year.

She began by explaining that her recent work in film has served as a major inspiration, having recently starred in The Little Mermaid. Bailey then confirmed that she considers DDG her first real love. “You know, you have puppy love experiences, you think that’s love. But this is my first deep, deep, real love,” she said. Despite the inspiration, she says she doesn’t plan on getting too into specifics on the project.

“I don’t really talk about my personal stuff, but I will tell you where I get my creativity from,” she said. “This has been a really beautiful transformative time for me. I have all this new material to write about. It’s like, What the heck did I just experience and go through? A whirlwind of amazingness. You never know what you’re capable of until you’re put through it. I was very creatively inspired, and then from there, I fell in love. And so I really just played with those themes in my music. During a recent interview with Cosmopolitan, comedian Bobbi Althoff revealed how she was able to secure her famous interview with Drake. The interview blew up immediately after its release a few weeks back, raking in over 10 million views since. The 26-year-old’s podcast, The Really Good Podcast, had only been around since April of this year, but Drake’s episode catapulted her to fame.

She’s since gone on to post interviews with Lil Yachty and Mark Cuban, and is even scheduled to sit down with Tyga next. Althoff’s deadpan humor and aloof attitude make for some of the funniest videos yet. After all, who doesn’t want to see their favorite artists in an incredibly awkward situation. With that being said, Althoff has sparked some debate as to how she managed to land a performer as huge as Drake when she was just starting out. Rumors have been circulating that she’s an industry plant, however, she denies this. According to Althoff, she simply slid into his DMs.

In June, Althoff interviewed Funny Marco. Apparently, Drake was a fan of what he saw, liking clips of the interview and eventually following Althoff on Instagram. After discovering that Drake was into her content, she decided to take a chance and ask him if he wanted to be interviewed. “I decided to just go for it and shoot my shot. I DMed Drake and asked if he wanted to be on my podcast, and he said yes,” she explained. “He sent me his touring schedule, and I knew that I needed to make it happen fast, so my friend and I flew to Memphis two days after the original DM was sent to record the episode.”

Elsewhere in her Cosmopolitan interview, Althoff revealed how she prepares to sit down with all these celebs. “There’s no prep,” she explained, “and that’s the fun of it.” She continued, “I think that’s why celebrities are down to do it. They know it’s a character, and we just wing it. It’s not a real interview. I’m not trying to get hard-hitting information about you — I’m not trying to uncover anything. It’s just a conversation. It’s really a parody of a good interview.”

Latto Discusses Her Relationship With Mystery Boyfriend

Latto has explained why she prefers to keep the identity of her partner private. Speaking with Cosmopolitan while appearing on the cover of the magazine, Latto said that she likes to keep special things in her life close.

“If something is special to me, I’m going to keep it close to me because everything else has to be front and center about my life,” Latto told the outlet.

Further speaking about their relationship, Latto said that she’s not the “jealous type,” and that both of them truth each other. “You know what, I’m cr*zy, but I’m not that cr*zy,” she joked. “I let him have his time and he lets me have mine. We trust each other. When he’s at home, like now, he’s probably gambling with his friends. I let him do him. We’ve built that trust, and I think people will probably be caught off guard or shocked at who I am in a relationship versus my public persona.” She elaborated: “Because people think I’m so tough because I’m super confident and dominant. In this relationship at least, I’m way more comfortable with taking the passenger seat and letting him lead because he lets me be myself—and I can still be my alpha self. But I respect him as a man to play the man role. And I’m really in my soft girl era.”

Latto On Making Music: “I See Myself Going Out Like Rihanna”

Latto is only 24 years old, but she’s already thinking about the end of her career. The rapper has expressed her vision for the future, and it extends beyond music. In an interview with Cosmopolitan, she revealed her desire to explore acting. Additionally, she shared her admiration for Rihanna’s career trajectory. Latto explained that she sees herself transitioning into acting rather than pursuing music indefinitely. She has already been involved in music for a significant period. In the planning process for Latto’s cover shoot, her label manager approached her with the idea of posing nude. While she did agree, the rapper emphasized the importance of tasteful execution. During the shoot, she closely monitored the process and aimed for an element of fantasy and allure rather than explicitness. “Not just boom-bam right in your face but more like a tease. Like you’re imagining me being fully naked and not really seeing it for real,” Latto said. “I like the fantasy aspect to it.”

Latto says the experience of shooting for Cosmo made her feel incredibly beautiful. She also said she appreciates the opportunity to embrace her body while she is young. “I’m young right now. I like the fantasy aspect to it. I felt like the prettiest girl in the world, like that’s the best I’ve ever looked.”

Latto Gets A Personal Trainer Instead Of Plastic Surgery

Celebrities have plenty of tactics for making sure they always look their best. Two of those routes that many have taken in the past are plastic surgeries and expensive personal trainers. In an interview with Cosmopolitan, Latto discussed facing this crossroad for herself. While she has gotten plastic surgery before in the past, Latto said in the interview that she decided against doing it again. She’s instead confident that turning to a personal trainer to help her nail down the right routines is the best way to stay in her absolute best form.

Recently there’s been yet another discussion about the safety of plastic surgeries. Wild ‘n Out star Jacky Oh passed away earlier this month after reportedly undergoing a combination of surgeries in Miami. Just a few days ago the plastic surgeon involved spoke out for the first time since her tragic death. His failure to mention her directly in the statement rubbed some of her family members the wrong way. Given those events, it’s unsurprising that Latto and some others are having second thoughts about their plastic surgeries.

Latto Opting For More Natural Way To Stay In Shape

Latto has released two new singles this year. She led off 2023 with “Lottery” alongside Lu Kala and followed it up with “Put It On Da Floor.” A few weeks ago Cardi B joined her for a remix of the latter which is fittingly called “Put It On Da Floor Again.” The song debuted at #13 on the Hot 100 last week and already has over 6 million streams on Spotify. The song attracted even more attention yesterday when Yung Miami dropped her own verse over the songs beat in an Instagram post.

Last week we learned that Latto was stretching her talents even further into the world of TV. She will make a cameo appearance alongside NLE Choppa in the final season of Grown-ish.
