Naomi Osaka Shared The First Photo Of Her And Cordae’s Baby And The Outfit Is Adorable

A few days ago, tennis star Naomi Osaka gave birth to a daughter, her first baby with rapper Cordae. Cordae first confirmed the news last weekend, when he told his audience at Canada’s Calgary Stampede, “My daughter Shai was just born a couple of days ago, so I want to dedicate this performance to my baby girl Shai. Love you, I’m going back home.”

Now Osaka has shared her first social media post since the child’s birth, and it includes the first photo of the baby. We don’t see the baby’s face in the picture, but we do get a look at her adorable and on-brand outfit: a onesie with pink and green tennis rackets and balls embroidered all over. The post also features a photo of Osaka looking down at her pregnant belly in what might be a Cordae recording setup, based on the musical equipment in the shot.

Osaka wrote in the post, “Well that was a cool little intermission, now back to your regularly scheduled program [tennis ball emoji] [peace sign emoji] [hearts emoji].”

As for what’s next for the couple, Osaka’s caption seems to suggest she’s going to start preparing for a return to tennis. Cordae, meanwhile, recently dropped a collaboration with Juice WRLD.

“Well, that was a cool little intermission, now back to your regularly scheduled program.” This is what Naomi Osaka posted to her Instagram on Thursday, July 13th. The main photo: A picture of her newborn baby girl filling out a tennis-themed onesie. Osaka and her longtime boyfriend, rapper Cordae, welcomed their first baby into the world this week, and the couple couldn’t wait to share the news with social media. The post also included stills from the pregnancy and delivery process, including Osaka in a hospital gown, waiting to start.

One commenter cheekily said, “Baby gonna win 25 slams and drop a #1 album.” It speaks to the powerhouse couple of Naomi Osaka and Cordae. Osaka, taking a break from tennis for her pregnancy, was quickly becoming the best female tennis player in the world. Cordae, on the other hand, has been performing shows and dropping tracks like nobody’s business. Together, they have dominated their respective industries while remaining strong in their relationship. And now they have a beautiful baby girl!

Naomi Osaka & Cordae Are Proud Parents

As for the name of the baby, it had been a secret up until Cordae let it slip during a concert. Via The Huffington Post, the rapper said to the crowd, “Speaking of family, my daughter Shai was just born a couple of days ago. So I want to dedicate this performance to my baby girl Shai. I love you, I’m going back home.” If what he said is true, the baby’s name is Shai, and she seems to be in good health, both she and her proud new mother, Naomi.

As for what Osaka said in her post, it could allude to her triumphant return to professional tennis in 2024. Her goal is to get ready for the 2024 Australian Open. Until that time, she will be plenty busy being a new mom and adapting to having another human in the house. Meanwhile, Cordae will be coming home after a bit of touring to be Dad for a few weeks. Congratulations to the happy, healthy couple!

Naomi Osaka And Cordae’s Baby Has Been Born, The Rapper Confirmed While Sharing The Child’s Name On Stage

Back in January, it was revealed that Cordae and tennis superstar Naomi Osaka were expecting their first baby together. Then, last month, the couple’s baby shower indicated the pair would be welcoming a baby girl. Now, we’re at the next step: Osaka has given birth, Cordae confirmed.

During a performance at Canada’s Calgary Stampede this past weekend (as TMZ notes), Cordae told his audience between songs, “My daughter Shai was just born a couple of days ago, so I want to dedicate this performance to my baby girl Shai. Love you, I’m going back home.”

People reports the baby was born in Los Angeles, and that both she and Osaka are “doing well” after the birth. The baby’s name lines up with what Osaka told the publication in April when she said, “We have been discussing names. I would say that we are going for something more unique than traditional.”

Before the birth reveal, the latest news about the child from the couple was the aforementioned baby shower photos. In them, Osaka wore a crop top sports jersey to proudly show off her baby bump. In one of the pics, Cordae bends down to hold the belly as he gives it a kiss.

Naomi Osaka & Cordae Welcome Their Baby Girl Into The World

According to PEOPLE Magazine and aggregated by @NoJumper on Instagram, Naomi Osaka has given birth to a baby girl. Osaka and her boyfriend, rapper Cordae, welcomed their firstborn into the world today in Los Angeles. Both Osaka and the baby are doing well, as confirmed by sources who told PEOPLE. Cordae and Naomi Osaka announced the pregnancy back in January via Instagram.

The love story between 25-year-old rapper Cordae and 25-year-old four-time Grand Slam singles champion Naomi Osaka began before 2020. The power couple is going strong, with a new addition to the budding family arriving today. Osaka and Cordae aren’t married, but that could be in the works after the birth of their baby girl. As for a potential name for the newborn, Naomi offered a little insight into her thought process to PEOPLE: “We have been discussing names. I would say that we are going for something more unique than traditional.”

How Is The Naomi Osaka & Cordae Family Doing?

Looking to be the best version of herself for her daughter, Naomi has been a huge advocate for mental health. This was especially the case when she decided to take a break from her tennis career, which was on its way to superstardom. She pulled out of all 2023 tennis tournaments and hasn’t played professionally since September 2022. Once she learned she was pregnant, she paused her career aspirations until the 2024 Australian Open. She’ll remain focused on being a rockstar mom for her new baby girl.

As for Cordae, the rapper has been busy with his own career aspirations. He recently released the single “Doomsday,” a collaboration with the late hip-hop artist Juice WRLD. The multi-hyphenate artist is close to obtaining an EGOT — an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony award — after winning an Emmy in the spring for the kids’ TV show We the People. He has three Grammy nominations and zero wins so far, but don’t hold it past him to achieve this lofty goal. For now, he and Osaka are going to have their sights on being terrific parents for their daughter. Congrats to the family!

Juice WRLD And Cordae’s ‘Doomsday’ Video Puts Deepfake Technology To Mind-Bending Good Use

Generally, I find all the deepfakes and AI use in music today — especially when it comes to deceased artists’ posthumous releases — ethically iffy, if not downright creepy. I’m willing to make an exception for Lyrical Lemonade’s off-the-wall “Doomsday” collab between Juice WRLD and Cordae, though. For one, Juice and Cordae were very tight in real life, and for another, both were extremely close with director Cole Bennett, who was instrumental to both of their careers.

But mostly, it’s because the project came out super tight, which is something you can’t always say for similar works. In this case, we get another opportunity to hear both young rappers at the respective heights of their game — something they got too few chances to give us while Juice was alive — as well as to hear Juice really rapping. Also, the deepfake effect in the video is used in a creative way, allowing Cordae to perform for the both of them as he morphs back and forth between his own face and Juice’s.

Eminem, whose song “Role Model” is sampled here, even makes an appearance at the beginning of the video and his association with Cordae and Juice is just enough to make you wonder whether it’s more digital trickery, or really the man himself showing love to the younger rappers (and Cole, who directed his “Godzilla” video).

Check out the “Doomsday” video above.

Cordae is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Juice WRLD And Cordae Team Up On New Single, “Doomsday”

Juice WRLD just released another posthumous collaboration. This time, he teamed up with Cordae. Renowned music video director and influential creator Cole Bennett has entered into a partnership with Def Jam Recordings. Many may know him from his friendship with the late Juice WRLD or for his company Lyrical Lemonade. As part of this collaboration, Lyrical Lemonade has released its debut single titled “Doomsday.” The track features a highly anticipated and previously unreleased collaboration between Juice WRLD and Cordae. The music video for the single is now available, as well.

When asked about the release, Cordae expressed his tribute to Juice WRLD. “Long Live Juice WRLD,” the rapper said simply. Both Cole Bennett and Cordae built up anticipation for the release through social media posts. This includes the interesting short film “whyrush?” directed by Bennett. This generated excitement and speculation among Lyrical Lemonade’s large subscriber community. Additionally, it excited the wider hip-hop culture.

Juice WRLD And Cordae Shine Together On “Doomsday”

“Doomsday” is a captivating track that brings together the Grammy-nominated rapper Cordae and the late Juice WRLD. It features their skillful wordplay and thought-provoking verses. They are set to music over the iconic Dr. Dre-produced beat of Eminem’s “Role Model.” The song showcases both rapper’s distinct style in a powerful collaboration. The accompanying music video was, of course, directed by Cole Bennett. It creates a visually stunning spectacle, utilizing technology to seamlessly transform Cordae into Juice WRLD and vice versa. All of this happens while chaos unfolds around them.

For those who don’t know, the release of “Doomsday” sets the stage for something much larger. Lyrical Lemonade’s upcoming debut full-length album is scheduled to be released later this year. Given the exciting nature of the first single, it’s likely that there will be quite a bit more to look forward to. Fans can anticipate the release more exciting collaborations in the near future. What do you think of the new single? Be sure to sound off in the comments and let us know! Stay tuned to HNHH for the latest updates on Juice WRLD.

Funny how two plus two equals foreplay

Something seriously potent has been in the air over the past few months, as we can hardly keep up with all the celebrity pregnancies being revealed. Osaka’s tennis career has obviously been derailed by the decision to expand her family. Regardless, she’s vowed to be back in action for the 2024 Australia Open and hasn’t held back on clapping back at critics who are skeptical of her ability to return to the sport with as much strength as before. Even while pregnant, she proved her dedication to the game, sharing videos of training both on the court and at the beach a few months ago.

As for the lyricist, just a few weeks ago we reported that he’s inching closer to joining the ranks of those with the prestigious EGOT status. After taking home an Emmy, he received a letter of congratulation from the Obamas, which he proudly showed off on social media. What do you think Cordae and Naomi Osaka should name their baby girl? Let us know in the comments, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.
