21 Savage Named Best Rapper Of 2022 By Complex, Fans React

Complex has named 21 Savage the best rapper of 2022, prompting plenty of discussion from fans on social media. In making the decision, the outlet cited his “consistent output, improvement, and evolution of his cadence and wordplay with every verse.”

21 contributed plenty of impressive features throughout the year while also teaming up with Drake for Her Loss. The two dropped the collaborative project back in November.

“I just feel like a lot of people lose their spot trying to take somebody else’s,” 21 told Complex for the piece. “I’d rather just keep [trying to outdo myself] over and over.”

Of Her Loss, 21 added: “I ain’t heard a project like this in a long time, honestly, probably since My Turn. This is like a real album you can ride to from top to bottom, that’s what I was thinking in the club. I just remember feeling proud of him because he put it together the right way, from the tracklist and everything.”

Following the selection, fans debated whether there were better options to choose from.

“So y’all think he’s better then Lil Durk & Uzi wow, that’s crazy…,” one fan wrote.

Another argued: “Music was good but if we talking about RAPPING specifically. No way did y’all listen to that Nas album and said this lol.”

One further complained: “This dude got carried by drake and metro the whole year this is fake.”

Despite the backlash, not all of the responses were as negative. Many others fans supported the decision, labeling it the correct take.

Chloë Bailey Discusses Her Upcoming Album

Chloë Bailey recently sat down with Complex to discuss her upcoming album in an interview published on Monday. The project will be her official debut solo studio album.

As for what lessons she’s learned during the making of the project, she told the outlet: “The biggest lesson I’ve learned has been to trust my gut and to trust the timing.”

Thus far, Chloë has released several singles that could end up making the tracklist. She says that her relationship with Gunna inspired her latest song, “For The Night,” a collaboration with Latto.

“Every single song on that project stems from my own experiences,” she explained before adding, “‘Have Mercy’ stemmed from my being sad. I was responding to haters. That is where that song came from. The single ‘Treat Me’ came from reminding myself that if there is something I want out of a man, I have to give it to myself first.”

Chloë further continued: “The song ‘Surprise’ came from, you know—it’s OK to feel a little sexy sometimes. I let that side come out of me with those lyrics. Now, I have released ‘For the Night.’ Every song I have is personal. It has been so much fun collaborating with such incredible song makers. I am happy people are getting more and more of me.”

While she didn’t give away any other collaborations to expect on the project, Chloë says there’s still a lot more to be revealed.

“Yes, absolutely!” she said. “There are a lot of exciting features and collaborations to look forward to. I cannot wait to say more and put it into the world.”
