TwoTiime Gets In His Lover Boy Bag On “4U”

It’s been a busy few months for Ottawa rapper TwoTiime. The Canadian star has kept his foot on the gas since announcing his deal with Polo G’s ODA in collaboration with Columbia Records. With the major label backing, he’s on pace to make some serious noise in 2024. He came out swinging with the release of “Priceless,” followed it up with the Jackson 5-sampling “One More Chance,” and capped off the year by opening up for Polo G at his sold-out concert in Montreal, Canada.

TwoTiime isn’t slowing down, either. Now that he’s entered a new year, the Canadian rapper came back to set the tone for Valentine’s Day with the release of “4U.” It’s another step in the right direction for the young rapper, who has continued to showcase his evolution with each release. “4U” is a slower effort, one that allows his melodic prowess to take new directions, leaning into more experimental, spacier turf, over a subdued vocal sample. Sure, he’s a rapper but it’s songs like “4U” that shine a spotlight on his potential to expand his sonic palette.

TwoTiime Shines On New Single

As TwoTiime continues to pick up momentum, there’s no doubt that it’s helping put some eyes on his city. Ultimately, that’s what the rapper’s aiming for, as he told HotNewHipHop last year. “Where I come from, this type of thing doesn’t happen. I’m not doing this for myself or my circle at this point. I’m doing this for my whole community,” TwoTiime said. “I want them to know anything is possible if you have a dream, hard work, and dedication.”

Since singles like “Hood Cry” made a mark, TwoTiime has remained focused. Although he took a bit of a hiatus between 2022 and 2023, it’s clear that he’s ready to make his mark in Canada and the U.S. Check out his new single above and sound off with your thoughts in the comment section below. Blueface Has A Blunt Message For Columbia Records: “You Guys Work For Us”

Blueface has been looking to make some mogul moves as of late. Overall, he has been able to do just that with his new imprint, MILF Music. The new label is part of Columbia Records, and one of his first signees is his fiancee, Jaidyn Alexis. She has already dropped a couple of tracks, and fans have been praising them. Although Alexis is still very early in her music endeavors, there is a lot of potential there. Consequently, Columbia Records had her and Blueface in their offices yesterday, where they signed official paperwork.

When we reported on this, we noted how Alexis and Blueface seemed to be very excited while in the office. They noted just how great this was, and the employees at Columbia also seemed to be eager to get started on this endeavor. However, as Blueface noted during the meeting, he holds the power. Or, that is at least what he wants the label to believe. In the clip below, he claims to own Columbia Records. He also says all of the employees in the room work for him now.

Blueface Makes A Toast

“Shout out to your music,” Blueface said. “Being the marketing and budget behind Jaidyn so Columbia can see what we doing. I want to go far, I want to go to the top, I want this to never stop. I f*cking own you guys now, you guys work for us. Raise your hand if you work for MILF Music.” Everyone raised their glass to these words, which was probably a good feeling for the rapper.

It will be interesting to see where this endeavor goes from here. If one thing is for certain, however, it is that Blueface is very confident in what he has going on right now. Let us know what you think of MILF Music, in the comments section below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for more news and updates from around the music world. Blueface & Jaidyn Alexis Sign Deal With Columbia Records: Watch

Despite Chrisean Rock’s best efforts to capture Blueface’s attention over the past few weeks, the 26-year-old is fully focusing on the future of his first baby mama, Jaidyn Alexis. The parents of two have been together on and off since high school but only got engaged this past weekend. Interestingly, the “Thotiana” rapper got down on one knee shortly owing an astounding $13 million in damages over last year’s strip club shooting.

As if all of that weren’t enough for a few days worth of drama, Alexis and her man upped the ante with a trip to Columbia Records on Tuesday (October 24). From the looks of things, Blue’s MILF Music and the longstanding media behemoth are coming together to support the “Stewie” hitmaker as she continues to grow and evolve as an artist. It’s unclear exactly what the terms of her new contract are, but we’re certainly eager to see what she’ll be cooking up next in the studio.

Alexis and Blue were looking fresh for their meeting with Columbia execs. The rap diva showed off her curves in a blue two-piece suit, flaunting her growing wealth with a stack of chains around her next. For his part, the reality star kept it more casual in jeans and a sweater – not wanting to outshine his other half. Some have suggested that Blue only proposed to Jaidyn so that her income can help to pay off his multi-million dollar debt, but others are praising the 26-year-old for putting his baby mama on.

Against all odds, Jaidyn Alexis has gone on to make a name for herself as an artist, largely thanks to help from her baby daddy. Many are speculating that Blueface was the one who wrote the lyrics to her latest viral hit, “Barbie,” despite him constantly denying it. Check out receipts suggesting otherwise at the link below, and tap back in later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.

Ottawa, ON has never been celebrated as a hub for hip-hop. But, in recent years, the growing community has been planting the flag for the city on a global scale. Artists like Night Lovell, Lindasson, City Fidelia, and plenty of others shook up Canada’s hip-hop scene. However, TwoTiime is revving up to take it even further. The Ottawa-based rapper gained a significant buzz during his teenage years with singles like “Keep It Real” and “Hood Cry,” which have garnered millions of views on YouTube alone.

Things have undoubtedly been shaping up in his career as of late. Two years after linking up with Polo G, he signed to the Chicago rapper’s ODA Records and Columbia Records. It’s been over a year since he last released music but with the recent news of his signing, he’s opening up the gates to flood the streets with his debut on ODA/Columbia.

TwoTiime’s Basks In His Glory On “Priceless”

Q-Tip Remembers How Columbia And Def Jam Passed On Signing Megan Thee Stallion Despite His Co-Sign

Trying to get on in the hip-hop industry is always going to be a grind, but having a huge titan co-sign you is usually a huge help. Megan Thee Stallion might be one of the biggest artists in rap at the moment, but back when she was first trying to break into music, she apparently made a big impression on a legendary artist — none other than Q-Tip himself. In a clip from My Expert Opinion, the A Tribe Called Quest rapper explains that even with all of his own connections on the label side of things, both Columbia Records and Def Jam weren’t very interested in signing Megan when she was just an unknown rapper from Houston.

“Prior to this, my co-signs were Dilla, Nas, Redman […] so I’ve done it a few times,” he explains. “So this one in particular we’re sitting at the meeting [with Columbia] and it’s great. The dude comes back, ‘So we saw the views, yeah she’s good. We could just give her like… $30,000′ or some sh*t like that.’ Just say you don’t want to sign her, b! Don’t f*cking embarrass me. So I took her to Def Jam, but the same thing happened. And I was like I guess the co-sign isn’t working anymore. And she wound up being Megan Thee Stallion. The co-sign is kind of flimsy now, because they rely on data… I was like ‘Don’t you see who she is? She is going to be the wave!’”

Megan did post about the trip back when it happened, which backs up his story, in case there was any doubt:
