Myaap & 414Jungle Baby Are “Dripping” On Their New Collaboration

The Milwaukee low-end scene has been really coming on strong over the last several months. Assuredly, natives from the Midwestern city will tell you it’s been buzzing for years. But for some reason, it seems that more and more artists are starting to pop off at a higher rate in this recent stretch. AyooLi and J.P are arguably the biggest faces from the subgenre at the moment, but Myaap (Myaa P) is coming. At just 18 years of age, she still has a lot to learn and improve upon. At times, we have cited that she sounds like a Sexyy Red, for example, sometimes. But there is no doubt that she’s hot on their trails. Since getting her professional start two years ago, 2024 has easily been her most productive and successful run yet. She’s put out eight singles and two projects. Making up the latter is a collaborative EP with producer Nedarb and her second LP, BIG MYAAP, NOT THE LIL ONE.

However, based on Myaap’s activity over the last three months, she could be gearing up for one more before year’s end. Part of this hot streak includes “Dripping”, Myaap’s collaboration with fellow Milwaukee native 414Jungle Baby. On this track, you are getting some youthful energy and flexes from both talents. “I’m winning / Big Benz, I’m whipping / I’m winning / Louis V, I’m dripping”, she raps on the chorus. It’s pretty standard fare for her but it does bring some fun vibes. In terms of issues with “Dripping”, the mixing could be slightly improved as the instrumental sounds a little muddy. Additionally, the 414Jungle Baby feature could have been removed. You can’t even tell who is rapping because they sound almost the same. But as we said, Myaap has a lot of room to grow, and we are excited to see where she can go.

Ciara & Busta Rhymes Stunt On The Haters With “Wassup”

Ciara seems to be on her more hip-hop centric vibes lately because this new Busta Rhymes collab, “Wassup”, is definitely keeping that theme going. Just last month, the Texas born R&B icon put out “Run It Up” with BossMan Dlow in a surprising turn of events. Overall, this team up was a shocker just purely based on their respective sounds alone. But we have to give it its due for not being as much of a mess as it sounds on paper. Thankfully, Ciara is putting her better foot forward on “Wassup”.

She sounds much more at home on this club-friendly instrumental. Speaking of that, it seems like CiCi is aiming for that sort of vibe on her next record. Nothing is confirmed yet, nor has it been announced. But given how little time there is in between tracks, there’s a good chance we get that reveal sooner than later. For Ciara and Busta, this is just their second time being on a song, with their last link-up being on Janet Jackson’s “Feedback (So So Def Remix)” in 2008. “Wassup” is a pretty standard flex anthem, with Mr. Rhymes bringing his signature speedy flow and Ciara sounding like Nicki Minaj at points in her vocal delivery. Overall, it’s a solid effort that should get some decent play at nightclubs across the country.

VonOff1700, Polo G, & G Herbo Aren’t Playing Around On “Dead N****s”

The Chicago drill scene has been shouldered by names such as Lil Durk, Chief Keef, and G Herbo for about a decade. But with so many aspiring rappers out there, the changing of the guard is going to happen at some point. Someone who could be a face of the cutthroat subgenre is VonOff1700. The 21-year-old does already have a few hits under his belt such as “Opps On Deck”, “Free Brick Freestyle”, and “S.O.B.”. All of those are on his 2024 debut project, #FreeMyHoodF***YoHood. Thanks to its success, VonOff1700 is now getting a chance to work with Polo G and G Herbo.

You can hear some of the influences, especially in the production and in Von’s delivery on “Dead N****s”, the trio’s first collab. What makes this single a winner in our books is the eerie woodwind beat, and everyone’s aggressive verses and mic presence. Those two qualities are always things you can count on from Chicago drill artists to provide, and those are here and then some. Also helping “Dead N****s” is Von’s clunky but still catchy chorus. Overall, this all the ingredients to be a major track for him, and if you check out the YouTube video below, you’ll see that the view count helps prove our point.

Monaleo & Kaliii Put Toxic Men On Blast With “Flush Em”

Throwing Bows might be the most spot-on title for a Monaleo project. Her rap style and bars exhibit similar actions that you would see in a boxing ring. Ironically, the cover for the aforementioned tape displays exactly that as she’s knocked out a man cold. Even crazier, is that Monaleo and Kaliii sound like they want to throw down with some toxic men for their girlfriends on their new single “Flush Em”.

This track comes just a week ahead of Throwing Bows, which will be her second LP of her still bubbling career. Where The Flowers Don’t Die, an 11-track, 28-minute-long effort was the last full-length-like effort we got and that came in May of 2023. “Flush Em”, which features production from Bankroll Got It, is the third offering, as it comes after “Passenger Princess” and “Don Who Leo”. While the flows are a bit clunky and do sound like Latto at times, what you can’t deny is the energy and mic presence from Monaleo. Give the track a try and tell us what you think in the comments below.

Ray Vaughn & NLE Choppa Hold Nothing Back On “FNBM”

TDE’s Ray Vaughn is doing everything but dropping an album at this point. Outside two EPs, the Long Beach, California rapper has no full-length to his name six years in. However, in January, we did get word from the label about which of their signees would be releasing an LP. So far, the ones we can scratch off the list include ScHoolboy Q, Doechii, SiR, Zacari, and Devin Malik. With just about two months to go, there’s still a lot of artists that are supposedly still going to be dropping before year’s end. One of them is in fact Ray Vaughn, so hopefully with this release of “FNBM”, we are closer to finding out more information soon.

This is his second single in just a week-long period with the trending “Everybody Dies” featuring SiR being the previous record. Hilariously, the tonal difference between these two songs is immense. “Everybody Dies” was an excellently written piece about living a fulfilling live and striving for greatness. On “FNBM”, Ray Vaughn is working with NLE Choppa and if you’ve been keeping up with the latter lately, you know what you’re going to be in for. We will let you decipher the title yourself by checking on the link for the track below, but some of these bars may give it away. “Gulp gulp gulp”, three thousand what I call her (Call her) / She don’t forget the balls, bunny b**** a real baller (Real baller) / F*** a baby daddy if you play you get a face shot (Brrt)“.

Nardo Wick & BossMan Dlow Remind Everyone Who They Are On “Oh Sh*t”

Nardo Wick has been building a career by bringing a murderous and unforgiving tone to his music. He’s drawn a lot from the playbook of former collaborator 21 Savage, and it was cool to see them tour together during the American Dream run. Since starting his professional career four years ago, the 22-year-old MC has just gotten better and better. However, with all of that time, there’s still only one project to show for it. That would be his 2021 debut, Who is Nardo Wick? In that same breath though, it seems that the Jacksonville native has been hard at work on his sophomore release. Proof of that comes in the form of “Oh Sh*t”, the first song between Nardo Wick and BossMan Dlow.

Both have been doing their thing, so it’s nice to see the bubbling Floridians finally unite. This looks to be single number five for WICK, which is due sometime in October. The lead-off cut looks to be the Sexyy Red joint “Somethin’”, which hit DSPs back in early February. Then, we would receive “Wickstyle”, followed by “Back To Back” featuring Future and Southside, as well as “Deep End”. On “Oh Sh*t”, you are getting both MCs in the braggadocious bag, as they continuously remind themselves and others that they are “him” as they say nowadays.

Wale Builds Momentum With Chaz French Collab “What’s The Play”

Wale is on the horizon of dropping a new album and although we don’t know anything else yet, that’s enough to get us excited. The Washington D.C. rapper has been inching his way back into the limelight as of late with his biggest step being a new tour. In just five days, he will be embarking on a 33-day trek across North America and it’s called Every Blue Moon. The Tour. There’s a chance we could be getting the project within the next couple of months, but no one really knows yet. For now though, Wale has been treating his starving fans with a few singles over the last week and “What’s The Play” is the latest one.

Prior to this, the “Lotus Flower Bomb” artist put out a two-track EP called Ghetto Speak. It consisted of the title track and “Mission Statement”. Both brought some more conscious ideas to the table like the pros and cons of growing up in D.C. Now, with “What’s The Play”, which features Chaz French, Wale is asking himself how he should continue to move. He acknowledges his own absence on the chorus and wonders if he’s still got real supporters still out there. Again, there’s more to like here in terms of substance, but Wale also gives a dynamic vocal performance, too. Check out the single with the link below.

Toosii & Gunna Are A Perfect Match On Melodic “Champs Elysees”

New York/North Carolina raised rapper and singer Toosii is back with “Champs Elysees”, a new single featuring Gunna. This is the first time that these two artists have crossed paths, which is kind of a shocker. Both possess the ability to rap melodically at a high level in addition to sharing similar tastes when it comes to production. Like his new album, a Toosii and Gunna collab is long overdue. It seems as that “Champs Elysees” will be landing on an upcoming album for the “Favorite Song” MC in just about a month.

According to Genius, Toosii will be launching JADED on October 4, with “Fuk You Mean” being the lead-off track. Overall, Toosii and Gunna really do their thing over this soulful and luxurious trap beat. The main attraction has a catchy stop-and-go flow right from the opening lines of the sticky chorus that open up the record. Gunna similarly tackles the instrumental well with his signature auto-tune-tinged vocals. Besides being a head-nodding tune, Toosii and Gunna are also delivering some uplifting bars about chasing what they want in life. For example, Gunna raps, “The mansion in the hills, I need a few more / Five hundred Ms, I’m tryna reach the goal“. Jay Worthy & MadeinTYO Preview Their Upcoming EP With “Master Delux”

Jay Worthy and MadeinTYO have a joint effort on the way soon and they are kicking things off with “Master Delux”. This is the lead single from an upcoming EP that you wouldn’t know about if not for some slightly deeper digging. The underground California MC announced that “Master Delux” was out yesterday on his Instagram, and in the comments was the Hawaiian-born multi-hyphenate spilling some tea. “I’m ready for this EP, thanks for letting me rap & make the beats 🙏🏾😤✔”. If you haven’t been keeping up with MadeinTYO as of late, you may want to. If his “Uber Everywhere” era was something that you weren’t rocking with because it was too mainstream, his recent material might be for you.

He’s been on quite the torrent stretch in terms of producing some jazzier and drum-less beats for some of the underground’s best. For example, just over a month ago, MadeinTYO connected with New York’s Ransom for a mini three-track EP, SMOKE & MIRRORS. While obviously robust in terms of length, the minimalist instrumentals from MadeinTYO made room for some excellent performances from Ransom. Overall, we are saying that he can bring out some quality material from other artists. With Jay Worthy being on a solid run himself, it makes sense that these two are linking up. We don’t have any other information in regard to when their collaborative EP will drop, nor the title, tracklist, and cover art. What we can pretty safely say though is that Jay and TYO will deliver tenfold together. The production on “Master Delux” is almost nonexistent. However, it’s really beautiful and delicate on the ears. They also display chemistry on the mic, making for a complete listen.

BNYX & Yeat Reconnect On “GO AGAIN” With Superheaven

BNYX is officially beginning his solo catalog with collaboration track featuring nonother than Yeat called “GO AGAIN”. The track also features the alternative rock band Superheaven via a re-recorded sample according to Genius. This single has been highly awaited, and it dates back to 2023 when the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania producer began to tease the instrumental on TikTok. BNYX was trying to sample “Youngest Daughter” by Superheaven. However, the track went through some setbacks thanks to clearance issues.

The in-demand talent was not able to use the guitar, and it led to BNYX requesting Superheaven to re-record their vocals for things to work out. So, yes, the song did it takes it time getting here and we understand that, however, we feel that “GO AGAIN” is a bet of a letdown. It mostly has to do with Yeat as he doesn’t add much of anything to the cavernous and grungy instrumental. He’s never been a lyrical giy, which is fine, but he sounds barely alive and audible on the microphone. The good news is that BNYX is now starting the roll out for his debut album, so better songs could be ahead.
