Yeat & Drake Team Up Again On New Single “As We Speak”: Stream

Yeat’s new album 2093 is out now, and we didn’t even experience a full day with it before he revealed more tricks up his sleeve. Moreover, he announced that he would drop another song for the project: “As We Speak” with none other than his “IDGAF” collaborator, Drake. Just like with that last link-up, this song starts with a dramatic instrumental, presumably a sample, before getting into the Portland rapper’s performance. Paired with grand pianos, buzzy synths, and then with distorted and heavy percussion, this makes for an unsurprisingly futuristic and unique sonic pallet. In fact, one could argue that this is probably the most unique and out-of-the-box instrumental that Aubrey Graham has rapped on… maybe ever?

That’s a debate for another day, but for now, there’s a lot to admire and appreciate about “As We Speak.” Lyrically, it’s a lot of cheeky and charismatic flexing from both MCs, and their deliveries and flows match well while defining their individual artistic approaches. Yeat is able to captivate our ears with his delivery and ad-libs, whereas Drake comes through with a more traditional flow that still does well over this more industrial beat. It’s a lane that he had never really tapped into like this, and for that alone, this is one of the most exciting songs either artist has put out as of late. It’s a similar approach to that of other features on 2093, such as Lil Wayne on “Lyfestyle,” and one that really resonates as a fresh and boundary-pushing track.

Quotable Lyrics
Back in America, f***ing on h*es from the ratchetest area, what?

Latto & Cardi B Go Platinum With “Put It On Da Floor Again”

Latto and Cardi B’s 2023 summer banger “Put It On Da Floor Again” has gone platinum, according to Complex. Released in June 2023, the track was a Cardi-infused remix of Latto’s April hit. While the original track only peaked at No. 25 on the Billboard Bubbling Under chart, the addition of Cardi saw the remix peak at No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100. Furthermore, the remix was widely praised by critics. “Cardi matches and then exceeds Latto’s energy. Once again, Cardi is endlessly quotable,” Tom Breihan of Stereogum wrote.

Furthermore, the high-energy video was full of brief cameos as Cardi and Latto twerked and flexed across a variety of retail outlets. Offset and BabyDrill both made an appearance, as did LSU’s Angel Reese. Additionally, Cardi name-dropping the 2023 NCAA National Champions led the school to invite her to campus.

Latto’s Belly Reference In “Sunday Service” Music Video Debated By Fans

Meanwhile, another of Latto’s tracks has a music video that is being hotly debated by fans. Latto appears bathed in neon blue light with glowing iridescent irises during a brief segment of the “Sunday Service” music video. The shot pays homage to a similar one in 1998’s Belly. While it is a striking shot, not everyone online is impressed. Some fans argued that Latto shouldn’t be praised for a reference that has been done countless times before. For example, JT had previously made the same reference to much less acclaim. Meanwhile, other fans argued that Latto was too light-skinned to make full use of the effect as seen in the original film.

However, of course, her diehard fanbase was there to defend the impressive shot. Along with calling it “iconic”, they argued that no one person has a monopoly on film references. Furthermore, something as iconic as Belly is going to receive countless homages, especially in hip-hop culture. Things inevitably got heated online over the issue. How do you feel about the reference? Let us know in the comments.

Kevin Durant Features On Stalley Track And Fans Are Here For It

“Sacred Money”, Stalley’s new track featuring Kevin Durant, has dropped. The track was previewed by a leak from TMZ, which showed Durant rapping about his grandmother. “RIP to Barbara Davis,We hit another layer/When she speak to me, it’s like she saying prayers,” Durant rapped in the leaked clip.

Fans seemed pretty satisfied with the flow, although many people are still waking up to the news. “Ok but wait Kevin Durant was flowin on this Stalley track.. I see you KD,” one fan noted. “I’m not the only one who thinks Kevin Durant sounds just like Jay Electronica on this new Stalley record right?” asked another. Are you feeling Durant’s bars? Let us know in the comments.

Draymond Green Calls Out Kevin Durant

However, one person note feeling Durant right now is Draymond Green. During a lengthy rant on The Draymond Green Show, Green called out his former teammate. “[Nurkic] and Kevin [Durant] questioning my character before,” Green said. “As if you’re going to question somebody’s character about a basketball game, as if this is not real life, as if that don’t affect people’s pockets. I think all of it was really cowardly… I think they all wack. Both of them. Everyone was questioning what I said to KD after the game… This is me. I do this. Been doing this. Gonna keep doing this. Which is the same thing I said in that Clippers game years ago. Been winning championships. Been doing this. Gonna keep doing this when you leave here. Didn’t lie. Got fined a whole game check… Fast forward, wasn’t a lie,” Green said.

Furthermore, Green went after Durant’s teammate, Jusuf Nurkic. During the same segment on The Draymond Green Show, the veteran Warrior went after comments that Nurkic made during their tense first meeting since Green’s suspension last week. Green dismissed Nurkic’s comments about his volatility by suggesting that the center was just made that Green had cooked him all game. Green consistently brought up how poorly Nurkic had performed in the matchup. However, fans were quick to point out that the stat line that Green was roasting was a “typical Draymond night”.

Kanye West Hints Quavo & Rich The Kid Collab Is On The Way

Kanye West may be in a lot of public hot water right now, but that hasn’t stopped collaborations from coming his way. What’s more is that, with how cryptic and frankly misleading his movement tends to be, these could sprout up out of nowhere and be dismissed within a few hours. In this instance, speculation around a new team-up stems from the Chicago artist’s recent Instagram Story post about another rap duo. Quavo and Rich The Kid spent their time at an Atlanta Hawks game filming a music video, and Ye reposted this clip on the social media platform. As such, fans theorize that he could hop on whatever this video is for.

Of course, this is all just part of the rumor mill right now, and it’s likely that Kanye West just wants to shout some rappers out. In fact, Quavo supposedly features multiple times on his Ty Dolla $ign collab album Vultures, whose first volume reportedly got a tracklist revision. Furthermore, the former Migo appears on “F**k Sumn” with Playboi Carti and “Back To Me” with Freddie Gibbs, or at least he did on previewed versions of these songs. As is typical with a Yeezy rollout, we can’t really say anything is set in stone until it’s released, and even then, folks could edit and revamp elements as proven with 2016’s The Life Of Pablo.

Kanye West Reposts Quavo & Rich The Kid Filming Music Video

However, with all these previews, premieres, and more potential collabs on the way, this means it’s hard to find surprises these days. Leak culture sees Kanye West tracks as the cream of the crop, and he’s well-aware of how many people release his material without permission. Recently, he confronted one of these leakers via Instagram, and it was curious to see given his leak history. Some of the 46-year-old’s scrapped albums and fan-favorite unreleased tracks still made a massive impact on many rap fans out there.

Meanwhile, his recent appearance during Travis Scott’s tour sent concertgoers into an absolute frenzy. The “Jail” provocateur has a lot to atone for, but his listeners remain loyal for better or worse. We’ll see if a collab with these two MCs includes any progress in this regard. For more news and the latest updates on Kanye West, Rich The Kid, and Quavo, check back in with HNHH.

Taylor Swift Fans Beg Her Not To Collaborate With F.L.Y. Amid “Swag Surfin’” Trend

If you’re an NFL fan, a Taylor Swift fan, or have been on the Internet at all recently, you’ve probably seen her support her boyfriend Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs on their Super Bowl run. In fact, you probably saw her dance to Fast Like Youngstaz’s (F.L.Y.) 2009 hit with Ea$ton, “Swag Surfin’,” an HBCU and sports staple that sparked debate over who should get credit for its resurgence: its dancers or its creators? “My initial reaction to Taylor Swift swag surfin’ was I thought it was dope,” group member Mook told TMZ. “I automatically knew it was going to be a good look because of who she is, what she’s got going on.

“Our streams across all platforms [are] up 700%,” Mook continued. “Our YouTube numbers went up. We gained 20,000 subscribers in like two weeks. So everything is up. It’s just been a dope thing to watch everything unfold so quickly.” Not only that, but he also suggested this is the biggest moment the song’s ever had in terms of growth, and proposed and endorsed the idea of Taylor Swift remixing it with a rap verse. Some people already don’t like the league pushing her at every chance they get, and this was even more of a red flag for fans.

Taylor Swift Dances To “Swag Surfin’” + Watch F.L.Y.’s Original Music Video

Moreover, on social media sites like Twitter, folks lamented this prospect, as they see it as appropriation or a cheap way to capitalize on another artist’s work. Some didn’t take it that far, suggesting that it would just be cringe, and a lot of people don’t really care much about it at all. Still, it’s fair to say that making assumptions about Taylor Swift’s malice in terms of her NFL visibility and her participation in these dances is pretty unfair, and frankly unfounded. As unlikely as this remix seems, though, fans are very careful not push this to its limits. You can see these reactions down below.

Fans React

Meanwhile, most folks only like to see Kelce and the superstar singer develop a wholesome bond for a bit. Beyond that, there are as many good reasons as there are bad reasons to be wary of this exposure. But we’ll see if the Super Bowl changes any of that. With that in mind, log back into HNHH for more news on F.L.Y., Taylor Swift, and the NFL.

Yeat Links Up With Childish Gambino, Teases “2093”

Fans have been eagerly anticipating Yeat’s follow-up to AftërLyfe since it dropped in February of last year, which featured the likes of NBA YoungBoy, Kranky Kranky, and LUH GEEKY. They’ve since seen him team up with Drake for one of For All The Dogs‘ most popular collabs, “IDGAF.” He’s continued to tease new music on social media in the months following, including a potential collab with none other than Childish Gambino.

Earlier this month, the performer took to his Instagram Story to share a cryptic message with followers. “Me n gambino going chips for grass and yall would never know,” he wrote. For obvious reasons, this led fans to believe that some sort of collaboration could be underway. Luckily for those awaiting confirmation, it appears to have just arrived.

Yeat Hits The Studio With Childish Gambino

Recently, the 23-year-old hitmaker took to his Instagram Story once again, to give fans another not-so-subtle hint at a collab. He shared a photo from a recording studio with Childish Gambino in the booth, tagging him in the post. Of course, this has left little room for interpretation, and listeners are fully convinced that they have something on the way.

So far, fans know that Childish Gambino has a new album arriving sometime in the near future, though details on that are again unclear. He confirmed the news late last month, however, during a quick chat with TMZ. When the outlet asked him when exactly they could expect to hear the album, he simply replied, “Soon.” It’s possible that Yeat could be making an appearance on that project, or his own new album 2093, which he just announced will arrive in February.

Drake Posts Up At Lil Yachty, Spotted Clubbing In NYC

Drake and Lil Yachty posted up for a film camera throwback photoshoot. “Everyone asks ‘is it better to be feared or loved’ but no one tells you what happens when you’re both of them,” Drake added as a caption. It’s unclear if this was just a social call or if the pair have more projects on the way. Yachty was heavily involved in Drake’s 2023 album, For All The Dogs. He featured on “Another Late Night” and is credited as a producer on another five tracks.

Elsewhere, Drake was spotted at a club in New York City. The appearance came as fans eagerly awaited the rapper’s response to Megan Thee Stallion’s “Hiss”. Megan took aim at the Canadian rapper and long-time friend of Tory Lanez. “These n-ggas hate on BBLs and be walkin’ ’round with the same scars (Ah)/ Real curvy, no edgin’, n*ggas fight to get in my section (My section),” Megan rapped, seemingly in reference to Drake. However, Drake has remained silent for the moment. This is somewhat surprising, given that For All The Dogs was full of Drizzy airing out beef. Despite his silence, fans are eager to see how, and if, Drake will respond.

Drake Asks SZA To Release “Joni”

Elsewhere, Drizzy recently asked SZA to drop her unreleased track “Joni”. He posted a picture of SZA’s published snippet on Soundcloud to his Instagram. “My [goat emoji], pls drop this,” Drake added to the image. The song, first teased in 2020 during a Rolling Stone interview, has been partially released as a minute-long snippet online. The trap beat is written from the perspective of Joni Mitchell, the iconic folk musician. It’s unclear whether his endorsement will see the song finally come to light.

Meanwhile, SZA is at the top of her music game right now. As 2023 ended, “Snooze”, from her 2022 album SOS, was the only single to spend appear on every Billboard Hot 100 chart of the year. “I’m so grateful to everyone in this comment section that streamed and supported me!! GOD BLESS YOU! Thank you so much,” SZA wrote in response to the news.

Snoop Dogg & Dr. Dre Reach Final Stages Of New Album “Missionary”

Back in 2022, Snoop Dogg confirmed that he had a new album with Dr. Dre on the way, Missionary. The project will celebrate the 30th anniversary of Snoop’s 1993 debut, Doggystyle. Fans have been anxiously awaiting the release ever since, and fortunately, it looks like they shouldn’t have to wait too much longer.

During a recent appearance on the All The Smoke podcast, Snoop provided viewers with an update on the project. According to him, he and Dr. Dre have reached the final stages. “I’m in the lab with Dr. Dre right now. That’s Death Row/Aftermath. We finishing that up right now, tidying up the pieces to that. Snoop Dogg & Dr. Dre Are “Tidying Up” Missionary

He went on, revealing how the album came to be in the first place. “The n***a called me one day about two years ago. He was like, ‘N***a, come over, let me do a couple of songs with you,’” he recalled. “I go over there and he like, ‘N***a, let me do your album.’ And I’m like, ‘Alright, let’s go!’ We go in, knock out a couple of songs. He hit me back: ‘I need two more days.’ I got that call probably about 85 times. This n***a need two more days all the time.

“But when you hear what we have and how he got me rapping, it’s like a grown Snoop Dogg,” he added. “There’s some growth to him. It’s the way he selects his bars, it’s the way he uses his voice. [Dr. Dre] uses me like a f*cking robot and I love it because I love to be produced. I love to be challenged.” What do you think of Snoop Dogg revealing that he and Dr. Dre are “finishing up” their upcoming album, Missionary? Are you looking forward to hearing it? Renee Rapp & Megan Thee Stallion Perform “Not My Fault” On “Saturday Night Live”: Watch

Renee Rapp brought out Megan Thee Stallion as part of her Saturday Night Live musical spot. The pair performed their collab “Not My Fault”, which they recorded for the newly released Mean Girls remake. The film is not directly a remake of the 2004 film, but a blend of the original film and the wildly popular Broadway musical. Furthermore, Rapp also performed her track “Snow Angel”, from her album of the same name released last year.

Rapp also performed in a sketch during the episode, which aired January 20. The main host was Jakob Elodi, who is widely expected to earn an Oscar nod for his role as Elvis Presley in Priscilla. Rachel McAdams also appeared in the episode, announcing one of Rapp’s performances.

Megan The Stallion Reveals Olympic Vision

Both Rapp and Megan have been very busy in the past few months. For Megan, this included doing some early promos for the upcoming Olympics in Paris. The skit, promoting NBC’s coverage of the Games, opens with Megan flexing her style alongside some gilded equestrians before introducing her “hot girl” – a talking, winged horse that also breathes fire. Furthermore, Megan also dubs the Games “Thee Paris Olympics”. However, the entire envision is revealed to be an elaborate pitch that Megan is giving to a confused board of directors at NBC. This leads into Megan also using her signature vocal fry to dub the Games the “Ahlympics”.

“As America gathers together today on Thanksgiving, we wanted to surprise the nation with an Olympic moment as big as the holiday, and what better way to do that than with ‘Thee Olympics,’ featuring Megan Thee Stallion and dressage horses at Versailles. As we approach the new year, even more surprises are in store as we continue to bring to life the biggest media event of 2024 — the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games,” Jenny Storms, NBC Universal’s CMO Of Sports And Entertainment, told Rolling Stone about the promo spot.

Lil Yachty Teases New Playboi Carti Collab

Lil Yachty has teased a collaboration with Playboi Carti, posting a picture of a double-stacked cup on top of an opium briefcase. If true, it would be their first collab. In 2018, Carti featured on Yachty’s “Get Dripped”. Then, in 2020, Yachty, along with Future, featured on Carti’s “Flex Up”.

Fans were understandably stoked for the collab. “I mean they already got bangers so thats a no brainer,” one fan noted. “Bro that’s literally the nicest duo we didn’t know we needed 💯💯,” gushed another. “Well ofc !! That would be the smartest thing to do especially if they ain’t beefin,” reasoned a third. However, not everyone was stoked for the potential collab. Are you excited for another Yachty/Carti collab? Let us know in the comments.

However, it’s not been all good news for Carti. Fans are speculating that the recent postponement of his Antagonist Tour due to the legal battle that Homixide Gang is involved in due to jumping Summrs at a concert late last year. With HG tied up in a dispute with Live Nation, the tour is now in limbo. However, none of this is substantiated by official sources and appears to come from Playboi Carti’s official fan Discord server.

Homixide Gang jumped Summrs at BoxFest back in November 2023. A video, shot by an audience member, shows a large brawl occurring on stage in the middle of the show. It’s unclear what caused the altercation. However, Reddit users claim to have seen a second video showing members of the rap group rushing the stage. Summrs’ first track after the incident, “Check Me Out”, appeared to include several references to both the incident and other allegations against the group. “I DM one these n-gga’s hoes, I’m tryna see if the b-tch go” has been taken as a shot at the grooming allegations against the group. Furthermore, several bars directly reference the jumping and the subsequent threats Summrs made in return.
