Charlamagne Tha God Admits To Disregarding Tyla’s Interview Requests: “I Have A Job To Do”

Earlier this month, Tyla sat down for an interview with The Breakfast Club, which ultimately earned Charlamagne Tha God some backlash. At one point in the conversation, he asked the songstress about her identity as a South African “coloured” person. He was shut down right away. Her publicist made it clear that she wouldn’t be answering any questions about that particular topic, prompting some viewers to accuse her of denying her Blackness. She later addressed this in a statement, clarifying that this was not at all her intention.

Peter Rosenberg was among the first to call Charlamagne out. He claimed that he made the interview “miserable” for both Tyla and her team. Moreover, he accused the personality of going through the list of questions she preferred not to be asked in the interview and asking each one anyway. He was obviously onto something, as Charlamagne has now confirmed that more or less, that’s exactly what he did.

According to Charlamagne, Tyla’s team previously asked him not to bring up Kai Cenat, her absence from Chris Brown’s tour, a recent injury, comparisons to other artists, her dating life, or her racial identity. “I said to them, ‘No,’” he revealed. He also claimed that at that point, it was up to them to either prepare Tyla for those topics to be brought up or just cancel the interview altogether.

Last week, Kendrick Lamar hosted his highly anticipated “Pop Out” event at the Forum in LA, surrounded by several of his celebrity peers. YG, Tyler, The Creator, Dr. Dre, and many more made appearances. Roddy Ricch even came out to perform his hit track “The Box.” As expected, he had the whole arena jumping.

According to Roddy Ricch, however, he almost wasn’t on the lineup at all. During a recent chat with Big Boy, he revealed that he originally had other plans. Luckily, he ultimately decided to prioritize “The Pop Out,” though he had to give up Paris Fashion Week in order to do so.

“Yeah, Paris Fashion Week canceled,” he explained. “We just had plans, and I had talked to Dot. I’m like, ‘Man, I spent a lot of money in Paris already.’” Roddy Ricch says that after thinking it over for a couple of days, he decided that he simply couldn’t miss the LA show. “It’s bigger than us,” he added. “It’s a blessing to just see everybody from the different communities just being together.” While he’s surely disappointed that he had to give up PFW to perform at the historic concert, he doesn’t appear to regret his decision in the slightest. The rapper was among the first artists confirmed to be performing at the event, and made his excitement known early on.

Chris Brown is currently making his way across North America on his “11:11” tour, and so far, fans are impressed. The hitmaker has left audiences in awe with explosive performances, wild dance moves, and elaborate stunts. Unfortunately, however, he recently ran into some technical difficulties onstage. Earlier this month, he was left stranded in mid-air after some wires got stuck, prompting him to chastise his crew. He was uninjured, though he certainly seemed fed up.

Now, it appears as though he ran into yet another mishap onstage at a recent performance. In a clip making its rounds online, he’s seen closing a song and expecting to be lowered into the stage. Things didn’t play out as he expected, and he got stuck. As a result, he was forced to walk off like normal. He didn’t look happy about it either, though it’s unclear whether or not his team heard about it this time.

Luckily, fans can agree that the small mishap didn’t outshine the rest of the show. He has many more opportunities to make things up too, as his tour is scheduled to run until late summer. Brown is expected to close his “11:11” tour, which also features Ayra Starr and Muni Long, with a performance in LA on August 7.

Aside from his impressive performances, Brown is also offering fans intimate meet-and-greets, allowing them to chat with him and take fun photos. Reportedly, he’s charging up to $1K per person for them, which is certainly no small chunk of change. According to one fan, however, the photo she got with Brown was so up close and personal that it cost her her boyfriend. Justin Timberlake Comments On DWI Arrest For The First Time At Chicago Show

Earlier this week, Justin Timberlake was arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated in The Hamptons. Reportedly, he was stopped after having dinner at a nearby hotel and refused to take a breathalyzer test. Officer Michael Arkinson said in his report that Timberlake was pulled over for not stopping at a stop sign, and swerving. “It was ascertained that the defendant was operating said vehicle in an intoxicated condition in that his eyes were bloodshot and glassy, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath, he was unable to divide attention, he had slowed speech, he was unsteady afoot, and he performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests,” the officer also wrote.

Timberlake is scheduled to appear in court on July 26, but in the meantime, his “Forget Tomorrow” tour looks to be proceeding as planned. He kicked things off with a performance in Chicago last night. At one point in the show, he even seemingly addressed his latest legal issues onstage.

Earlier this week, Kendrick Lamar hosted his eagerly anticipated “Pop Out” event in LA, joined by several of his celebrity friends. YG, Tyler, The Creator, Jay Rock, and many more made appearances. Dr. Dre even joined Kendrick onstage and kicked off “Not Like Us,” one of the defining tracks of the hitmaker’s viral feud with Drake.

On top of the various peers who performed, many were also spotted in the crowd, cheering Kendrick on throughout the historic show. Of course, Dave Free was also in attendance, proving that he’s still on solid terms with Kendrick. For those who don’t recall, Drake accused Free of fathering a child with Kendrick’s fiancee Whitney Alford on “Family Matters.”

Clearly, those allegations don’t appear to be true, as both Free and Alford were seen at the show. In fact, Alford even brought along her two children with Kendrick. He was later seen making his exit alongside Free. This seemingly goes to show that Drizzy’s wild claims didn’t get in the way of their bond. The clip arrives shortly after fans noticed that Kendrick put Free at the very top of the credits after his “Pop Out,” which many thought was a direct jab at Drake.

Either way, Drake’s supporters are continuing to make jokes about the claims he made about Free and Alford. One of Drizzy’s biggest fans, DJ Akademiks, even Tweeted that neither of them showed up for the show as it was unfolding. He later deleted the post, though other users had already captured his false claims in a screenshot. He also issued a formal apology to Kendrick onstage at his Dreamville fest. This was a controversial move until the Compton MC went nuclear on Drake amid their lyrical battle.

Shortly after that debacle blew over, he joined forces with Cash Cobain for “Grippy.” His feature was far from well-received, however, and he was immediately ripped to shreds for what listeners called “cringe” bars. He managed to redeem himself with his fan-favorite appearance on “Free Fall” from Tems’ new album, and now, he’s gearing up to unveil yet another high-profile collab.

Earlier this week, the North Carolina-born performer was spotted filming what appears to be a new music video alongside Tee Grizzley. It’s been six years since XXXTentacion passed away from injuries related to a shooting, and in honor of the anniversary, his fans are looking back on his life and tremendous legacy. Ahead of his death, the artist was expecting a child with Cleopatra Bernard, Gekyume. Sadly, the two of them never got to meet, as XXXTentacion died seven months before his son’s arrival. The child’s loved ones, as well as fans, continue to remind him just how impactful his late father was regardless.

It appears as though the boy, albeit only five years old, is starting to get a sense of his dad’s stardom. In a new clip, for instance, he’s seen adorably posing alongside eager fans. He flashed a peace sign while rocking a t-shirt featuring XXXTentacion’s face, clearly happy to make supporters’ days.

While Gekyume may still be a bit young to fully comprehend his father’s fame, it’s obvious that he’s well on his way, and embracing having become an icon in his own right. Most were glad to see the young boy in good spirits, celebrating his dad despite not having the opportunity to get to know him.

Not everyone had the same reaction, however. YMT Boatwright, one of the men allegedly responsible for taking XXXTentacion’s life, reposted the clip alongside several laughing emojis. Clearly, he has no remorse for leaving Gekyume without a father, which may or may not change as he spends the rest of his life behind bars. Fans can’t blame Breezy for turning up. The track has gotten awfully comfortable at the top of the charts since its May release. He also has a history of bad blood with the Toronto superstar, as they were rumored to have gotten into a scuffle over Brown’s ex Rihanna back in 2012.

A few years later, Brown reignited their feud with a shady remark on Hot 97. Drake seemingly fired back at a show in New Zealand by switching up the lyrics to his If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late cut, “Energy.” The original lyrics are “I got rap n****s that I gotta act like I like,” but Drake said “R&B n****s” instead.

Obviously, Brown dancing to “Not Like Us” at the club suggests that he’s sided with Kendrick amid his lyrical battle with Drake.
