Cardi B’s Inflation Tweets Cause Twitter Rift, Rapper Claps Back

Earlier this week, Cardi B made headlines by addressing the steadily rising prices in grocery stores throughout the United States. On Tuesday, January 3, she tweeted, “Naaaaaa grocery shopping prices are ridiculous right now…You might as well eat outside !!” She also tweeted, “Bitch why lettuce cost 6 dollars where I live at ?”

While the comments seemed innocent enough, the “Bodak Yellow” rapper caused an uproar on Twitter. Some fans expressed their respect for Cardi’s money management skills. On the other hand, more irate fans dragged her for speaking about an issue that disproportionately affects lower-class people. See some of the Twitter reactions below.,

Cardi B responds to the social media backlash over her inflation tweets

After getting blasted by fans on social media, Cardi swiftly responded to the criticism. To demonstrate that her original tweets came from a sincere place, she shared a video on Twitter. In the video, she began by clarifying that millionaires have the right to watch how much they are spending.

“Let me tell y’all something,” Cardi said in the video. “When I be complaining about food prices, and y’all mother fuckers be like, ‘Aint’t you rich? Why you complaining about lettuce? Why you complaining about this?’ That just goes to show me when you become successful, when you have money, you’re fucking gonna go broke soon. Because y’all not budgeting.”

Then, Cardi explains that she regularly gets a summary breakdown of her finances. Upon seeing more money being spent in grocery stores than usual, she checked out a supermarket for herself. Although Cardi’s a millionaire who can afford higher prices, she explained why she chose to publicly comment on the issue.

“Of course I’mma say something!” Cardi said later on in the video. “The fuck? ‘Cause if I think that shit is crazy, I can only imagine what middle class or people in the hood are mother fucking thinking. So yes, I’m going to say something. The fuck! And I have a big platform, so I do want anybody that’s responsible of these fucking prices to put that shit the fuck down.”

After tweeting out that video, Cardi B also sent a follow-up tweet to clarify her optimism for bringing about change. One fan told the rapper her influence won’t magically fix inflation, and Cardi ultimately agreed with her. The Grammy award-winning artist simply responded, “Not necessarily cause of me but if we bring enough awareness to inflation you never know.”

Nick Cannon Expertly Claps Back At Andy Cohen’s Vasectomy Inquiry: Watch

Nick Cannon’s large blended family sparks no shortage of conversation in the media. By now, the father of 12 has undeniably become a pro at defending his decisions. Last night, he did just that while chatting with hosts Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper on their New Year’s Eve Live show from Times Square.

The Bravo icon asked the recording artist about his “endgame” on his apparent “single-[handed]” quest to “[repopulate] the Earth.” He asked Cannon, “What is your plan?”

In response, the California native said, “Clearly, I don’t have a plan. Honestly, man, it’s just so much joy and elation that I have. The family that I have, I embrace it. I love it, and I don’t have a plan. That should have been clear from the jump.”

Cohen couldn’t help but retort with an inquiry that’s been on the minds of many as of late. “A vasectomy?” he teased. “Is that what you want me to get?” Cannon clapped back. “It’s my body, my choice.”

Turning the conversation back to a lighter topic, Cooper jumped in and asked the 42-year-old for any fatherly advice for new dads out there. He happily obliged, encouraging them to, “just operate out of love.”

“I mean some people may say that’s what got us here in the first place, but that’s what I would always do, and always do it with a smile,” he went on.

As far as New Year’s resolutions go, Cannon says he doesn’t specifically have any. “Like I said, I’m just so happy for health, and want to continue to be as healthy and filled with as much gratitude as possible for the next year,” he told Cohen and Cooper.

As TMZ notes, The Masked Singer host welcomed a total of five children in 2022. He and Bre Tiesi had their first, Legendary, in June. Afterward, LaNisha Cole welcomed baby Onyx, and Brittany Bell delivered Rise Messiah.

Additionally, Abby Da La Rosa gave birth to Zeppelin, a baby girl in recent weeks. His latest arrival, though, is Halo, who was born to Alyssa Scott after the death of their son Zen. Read more about the new baby here, and check back later for more pop culture updates.

Yung Miami Speaks After Diddy Is Seen Kissing Podcaster Jade Ramey

No matter how many times they remind the world that they’re not in an official relationship, Yung Miami and Diddy continue to face flack whenever the latter is seen out and about with another woman. Recently, things have been particularly brutal for the City Girl.

This is because her Bad Boy not only fathered his seventh child with someone else (28-year-old Dana Tran) but has also been spending time with two other budding internet beauties. Around the same time he shared the news of little Love Sean Combs’ birth on Twitter, paparazzi caught him strolling through New York City with a YouTuber named Shawntya Joseph.

Not long after that, it seems Diddy took a mystery woman on a dinner date to Nobu. Once again, paps took photos that make it undeniably clear she had his attention. Internet sleuths have since identified her as podcast host Jade Ramey, who herself has over 1.1 million Instagram followers.

As the new father continues to make rounds with his roster, the heckling targeted at Miami has only increased. Initially, it was mostly Akademiks throwing shade, but now, randoms in her comment section have joined the chat. “Can we give Diddy the same energy he’s giving you?” one person asked Caresha.

“But [you’re] a City Girl, right?” they went on. “I get it, y’all got love for each other, but he’s making us City Girls look crazy. Likeee ain’t noooo way a real City Girl is letting a grandpa get one up on us.”

Shortly after seeing the comments, Miami reminded the internet for the thousandth time, “that’s not my man and he’s free to do what he want!”

“I’m not in a relationship,” the podcast host additionally explained. “My focus is building my brand right now! I been through a lot these past three [years]. I’m just having fun!”

In fact, amid all the drama, the mother of two has been busy on the set of her Caresha Please show. On Twitter last week, she revealed that a new episode will be dropping before the end of the month.

Keri Hilson Posts Bikini Video, Claps Back At Haters Suggesting She Needs A BBL

It’s hard to deny the imprint that “BBL culture” has left on society. Some might argue that the recent push towards cosmetic procedures is a way for women to embrace confidence and feel great in their skin. Others will say that seeing so many celebrities with artificially enhanced figures sets an unfair standard for average women who can’t afford the same maintenance.

Many in the industry have chosen to get breast implants or butt injections. However, there are still those who embrace their natural figure. Both GloRilla and Coi Leray have reminded slim women that they too can feel sexy. Now, “Pretty Girl Rock” singer Keri Hilson is doing her part to shut down those who think everyone’s body should be surgically enhanced.

Earlier this week, the 40-year-old posted a clip on social media. It finds her relaxing by the ocean in a bright pink bikini. Though she looked radiant and content while soaking up the sun, haters in her comment section didn’t hesitate to let their jealousy show.

“A BBL would do you some justice,” one person’s rude message to Hilson says. Of course, some would be devastated by a comment like this, but seeing as she’s so secure in her skin, the Georgia native was able to let the words roll right off her back. Not before she expertly clapped back, though!

Her response began, “I’m sure it would but hey.. like what you like.” She added that presently, she looks “the worst” she ever has in her life. However, “I love myself & adore my body at any weight,” the vocalist went on.

“Also, if you think your opinion would change any of that let me inform you: I’m so good if you never looked my way,” her sassy response concluded.

Unsurprisingly, Hilson’s fans were quick to rally behind her in support. “I love to see this. The naturally authentic you,” one person wrote. “You embracing everything about your body. I love it. And it’s refreshing to see.”

“She do not need a BBL!” someone else commented in her defence. “There are still women out here with their natural, God-given bodies!!!”

Keke Palmer Claps Back At Haters Who Attacked Her For Being Makeup-Free

Keke Palmer shocked fans everywhere when she announced her pregnancy while hosting Saturday Night Live over the weekend.

But after photos of her and her boyfriend recently made the rounds on social media, the actress clapped back at those who criticized her for not wearing makeup.

Photos of Palmer hugging Darius Jackson at a sporting event recently circulated on Twitter, with the Nope star opting for a bare face and red-rimmed glasses while rocking a green jersey.

The 29-year-old confidently shaded her haters in a series of tweets soon after noticing negative comments about her casual look.

“I just saw a few comments of ppl saying I was ugly cause I wasn’t wearing any makeup. And I really want y’all to get the help y’all need because makeup isn’t real,” Palmer posted on Twitter earlier today (Dec. 6) “I’m beautiful in real life, because of who I am, not what I look like.”

Because some people take comments to heart and these ppl just say anything. I mean truly it’s insane to say anyone is ugly, but especially me.”

Palmer has often discussed her issues and insecurities surrounding her skin.

In an Instagram video posted this earlier this year, she wondered out loud why plastic surgeons haven’t found a cure for adult acne.

“Plastic surgeons, y’all wanna know where the real money at? IN CLEARING UP ACNE.” she captioned the clip, sharing it with her 11 million followers.

“Enough with all the hard work of having to find the PERFECT diet and trying to get an expensive facial every other day,” Palmer continued. “Give us the plastic surgery we’re begging for, and make it possible for black skin as well… I need the dual love.”
