JT Dips Her Toes Into A New Sound In Latest Snippet: Listen

The City Girls are mostly known for their high-octane bangers that get you up on your feet. They have been riding that formula for the past couple of years or so. However, after some disappointing sales from the duo’s last record, RAW, back in October, it might be time to try something else. DJ Akademiks has always been sending potshots toward Yung Miami. After hearing about the single-digit first-week numbers, you know he was right there to say something about it.

But, it seems that JT is taking this in the best way possible. One thing that is great about the start of a new year is to restart and improve on what you did in the past. That is what the 31-year-old rapper is doing with a new snippet that is making the rounds on social media. The Neighborhood Talk‘s Instagram caught wind of some music that she shared and its something new.

A post shared by The Neighborhood Talk (@theneighborhoodtalk)

JT is trying her hand at singing and going more melodic with this teaser. The production is more lowkey and minimal as well. It is heavily auto-tuned, however, this could be her just experimenting in the studio. Some people in the comments are saying this song is called “Paradise” because of how many times she repeats it. There is nothing else to really note, other than it is a little taster of what could be to come from JT.

What are your initial thoughts on JT’s new snippet? Does it sound like something you would be looking forward to hearing a full version of? If not, why? Do you think it is the right thing to do for her career to branch off into another sound? Is this something she could create a strong solo catalog, why or why not? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your hottest takes in the comments section below. JT Vows To Make Good Songs Not Just Good Verses in 2024

The new year is a time for many to make resolutions about the following 12 months. Though many don’t end up sticking to it for the full calendar year it’s still a fun bit of self-reflection. One person who shared their approach to the new year was City Girls rapper JT. She took to Twitter to share some musical plans she has going forward. “Sideways is a song not a verse & in 2024 I want to go from ‘JT has good verses!’ to ‘JT make good songs !!’” she said in a tweet posted earlier today.

In the comments fans seem mostly supportive of her, so long as she actually drops new music. “well babe you gotta actually drop the songs,” one of the top replies suggests. “well drop the song jatavia!” another reply agrees. The comment falls in line with another suggestion that JT made earlier this year following the release of the most recent City Girls album. She said that her next venture will be a solo effort, which would mean a lot more songs she’s handling entirely by herself. Details on when a potential solo album might emerge haven’t been released yet but she seems intent on making it this year. Check out her tweet and the replies to it below.

JT Wants To Carry More Of Her Own Songs

Back in October, City Girls released their new album RAW. Despite featuring some songs that connected with fans like “Good Love” with Usher and JT’s own “No Bars” the album underperformed commercially. Some fans suggested that part of the underwhelming sales was her City Girl contemporary Yung Miami. When they suggested that JT take the Offset route and go solo she stood up for Miami. Despite that, she clearly still seems interested in recording some more solo music soon.

What do you think of JT wanting to make more good songs and not just good verses? Would you listen to an entire solo album from the City Girls rapper? Let us know in the comment section below.

JT Falls In Heels At City Girls Show, Yung Miami Saves The Day

Besides being the strongest lyricist of the two City Girls, JT is also the rap diva with a fashion education that she uses to keep herself looking fly. Her taste certainly isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but that hasn’t stopped the Florida native from moving confidently on and off stage. During a recent performance, the “No Bars” hitmaker wore sky-high heels that unfortunately made her fall to the floor while performing on stage. Thankfully, her partner in rhyme Yung Miami was beside her to hype her up and get their show back on track.

In the clip below, JT seems to lose her footing as “Take Yo Man” blares over the speakers. After the City Girl awkwardly stumbles backward and recovers, we see Caresha Brownlee crossing over to help make sure she’s okay before getting back to spitting into the microphone. “I love how Miami went to help her and hyped her back up. Real friend shiii! 👏🏾,” one Instagram user observed in @theneighborhoodtalk’s comments.

JT Might Tumble Sometimes, But She Always Gets Back Up

“The way I would’ve went backstage, gon head Caresha just finish it 🤣🤣😭😭😭😭,” someone else quipped, praising JT for not letting a small fall embarrass her. As we move into 2024, it’s unclear exactly what the “Act Up” artists are planning to share with their fans, though the 31-year-old has hinted at her desire to release more solo music as she continues to grow as an artist.

At this point in their careers, Yung Miami and JT are no strangers to criticism from hip-hop heads. Still, they never let the bad attitudes of others get them down – instead, they use it to fuel their fires and become even better at their craft. City Girls’ Yung Miami Revealed That While She Wasn’t Diddy’s Type, She Got Him By Being ‘That B*tch’

City Girls recently dropped their new album, RAW. As part of the press cycle, both Yung Miami and JT talked with Billboard about the record. However, during the interview, the former was also asked about her relationship with Diddy.

For those who don’t know, Yung Miami has been apparently dating the media mogul for a while, even though they have a bit of a unique relationship. A few months ago, she appeared to go shopping with Diddy’s money as a celebration of his and City Girls’ collab dropping. Now she’s sharing how she first attracted him.

“I don’t know ’cause people say that I wasn’t Diddy type,” Yung Miami said. “But clearly, I am. So, I think that you just be yourself because people, they gravitate towards real. Like, so many people try to be something that they not.

“You just got to be yourself,” she added. “I’m just myself. I’m just that b*tch.”

In terms of the timeline of Diddy and Yung Miami’s relationship, they were first linked during the summer of 2021. By the following summer, she was in the crowd of the BET Awards, cheering him on while getting the Lifetime Achievement Award with a sign that read “Go Papi!.”

Meanwhile, JT had been seeing Lil Uzi Vert, but she confirmed that while they are a rap duo, the two girls won’t be going on double dates any time soon.

Lil Uzi Vert is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Yung Miami And Stunna Girl Clarify That There’s No Beef

Yesterday, Stunna Girl took to Twitter to express her thoughts on people stealing her catchphrases. “I got btchs stealing “Haaaan” like btchs took City Girls “Periodt” & ran witted,” her tweet read. While her intentions seem pretty clear up front, plenty of fans interpreted the tweet as her taking shots at Yung Miami. That was because Miami had just recently shared a selfie using her “haaan” catchphrase as a caption.

Thankfully, the beef didn’t last long as the pair took to Instagram comments about the post to clear things up. “I was SUPPORTING the song lol I pray it’s not that deep!” Miami said in a comment. It clearly caught Stunna’s attention as the also took the chance to clarify. “I ain’t even seen yo picture I literally just gave y’all props about how they stole “Periodt” like they did my sh*t I wasn’t talmbout you boo,” she responded. In the comments, fans mostly agree that there’s no covert beef. “She did give them props I doubt she talking about them,” one of the top comments read. Check out the full interaction and fan reactions below.

Yung Miami And Stunna Girl Clear The Air

Yung Miami is fresh off of a new album as part of the rap duo City Girls. The pair released RAW, their first new album since 2020’s City On Lock. While fans seemed to enjoy the record a lot, it ultimately delivered pretty underwhelming sales numbers.

For her part, Miami doesn’t seem bothered by the underperformance of RAW. “That’s good for a b**ch who voice y’all hate and can’t rap😏,” she responded to the news on Twitter. That comment plays into some of the common critiques that fans have of Miami. The criticisms can often go so deep that some fans think her City Girls partner JT should separate entirely and become a solo artist. What do you think of Yung Miami And Stunna Girl making sure fans know there’s no beef? Let us know in the comment section below.

JT And Lil Uzi Vert Spark Breakup Rumors With Social Media Changes

Even among the drama-filled world of celebrity couples, JT and Lil Uzi Vert have been followed extensively by public drama and fascination. Particularly, in the wake of the new City Girls album which was met with underwhelming sales despite fan acclaim. drama has brewed. That’s because she brought up an incident that happened earlier this year between the couple.

That incident was a viral fight behind the scenes at the BET Awards. Videos of the fight made the rounds online and internet sleuths quickly determined that it had something to do with Ice Spice. Everyone involved has maintained that Spice wasn’t involved, including when JT discussed it last week. At least that was the case until ASAP Bari, who was there for the fight, chimed in and claimed that her series of events was false. That led to even more reports wondering how the couple were actually doing, which have now turned into complete overdrive. Check out the newest rumors below.

JT And Lil Uzi Vert Breakup Rumors Swirl

The new rumors are spawning from the pair’s social media presence. Uzi has wiped almost their entire Instagram clean and now follows zero people on the platform. JT has been a bit more precise, clearing out pictures of the couple and unfollowing Uzi in particular. She also changed the name in her bio back, removing Uzi’s last name from her profile after first adding it earlier this month. The original addition of Uzi’s last name sparked pregnancy rumors for the pair, which now seem to be untrue.

One thing worth noting is that not all of her posts of Lil Uzi have been deleted from her profile. She’s kept some particular posts celebrating the rapper’s musical achievements. None of the rumors have been confirmed yet. But that hasn’t stopped fans online are running with them given the publicly available evidence on social media. Do you think the Lil Uzi Vert and JT breakup rumors are true? Let us know in the comment section below.

Is City Girls’ JT Changing Her Rap Name?

Miami rap duo City Girls has a new album out, but that isn’t stopping one of the group’s members from considering a name change to help her solo career out. JT recently admitted that her rap name is a little less than ideal from a search optimization standpoint after a fan on Twitter noted that efforts to get her name trending were futile since it’s just two letters. “I think I should change my rap name but to what?” she asked her followers.

Does this mean the rapper is officially changing her name?

Well, it wouldn’t be unprecedented for her to do so. In 2021, another rising rap star, Latto, changed her name after receiving some backlash over her prior nom de guerre. At the time, she explained why following through on those plans can be complicated with big implications for a career already in motion. “I want [my fans] to also understand that the name change at this level in your career is a big decision,” she said. “Freaking investors, labels, everything has been riding on this name, so it is a big decision.”

Also in 2021, Yung Baby Tate shortened her own name to just Baby Tate, which is admittedly a little catchier. Should JT decide to change her name, it’ll mean updating a lot of contracts and online info, but her fans’ responses suggest that at least a new one could still be recognizable; options suggested included “Jay Tea,” “The Girl JT” (based on her Twitter handle), or even just “Jatavia” — a strategy that has worked for her partner Yung Miami, whose talk show Caresha Please uses her real first name.

Yung Miami Eggs On Saucy Santana Amid Akademiks Beef

Yung Miami isn’t holding back Saucy Santana after she got into it with DJ Akademiks. Following Santana’s heated response to Ak, Yung Miami chimed in on her Instagram Story. Sharing a photo of Santana’s arm with his finger pointing, Miami wrote, “And when I send you this, it means meet me in the streets p*ssa*ss h0.” The photo was accompanied by a snippet of Drake’s scathing verse on Rick Ross’ “Stay Schemin” alongside French Montana.

This came after Saucy Santana and Akademiks issued shots at one another. After Saucy leaped to Miami’s defense, he and Akademiks got into an epithet-fueled shot at one another. However, Santana took it a step further in his latest video where he threatened to sexually assault Akademiks after beating him up.

Saucy Santana Leaps To Yung Miami’s Defense

It all began when Akademiks went in on the first week sales for City Girls’ new album, RAW, which moved about 10K in its first week. It’s an underwhelming figure, although there was little promotion or announcement before its release. “I talked to almost the head of the RIAA […] they told me this shit went 15x plastic,” Ak said on his stream after the album debuted at #117 on the Billboard 200. “They said, ‘Ak, this is the first triple plastic certification we’ve given out.’ He said the last time they dropped a record, it went double styrofoam, but now we gotta go to plastic.”

At first, Miami slyly quoted Meek Mill on X (formerly Twitter) when she responded to Akademiks’ comments. “IF YOU AIN’T ABOUT THAT MURDER GAME THEN PUSSY N***A SHUT UP PLEASEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!” Miami wrote. However, Santana came in afterward and berated Akademiks for frequently trying to have issues with women. He even brought up Akademiks’ recent spat with GloRilla over the weekend. Finally, Santana invited Akademiks to Yung Miami’s Halloween party to have a face-to-face conversation. Check out Miami’s response to DJ Akademiks and Saucy Santana above. We’ll keep you posted on anymore updates surrounding the situation.

JT Considers Changing Her Rap Name So She Can Trend On Twitter

JT has been pretty busy recently. She just released a new album as one half of City Girls called RAW. While the project was met with some acclaim from fans and critics alike it underperformed commercially. She’s also been dealing with plenty of beef online as artists like Asian Doll and A$AP Bari call her out for the way she’s handled some of her public dramas. But she isn’t letting any of it get to her and continues to muse on unrelated matters on social media.

“JT it sucks that your name can’t trend because it’s two letters” one fan tweeted. Clearly, the post got her thinking because shortly after she tweeted herself contemplating if she should change her alias going forward. “I think I should change my rap name but to what?” she said in a post over the weekend. Fans took to the comments to provide suggestions. “CityGirlJt if anything,” one comment reads. “Just spell it out girl … JayTee,” and “Jatavia just as catchy tbh” others suggest. Check out the original tweet and all the fan responses below.

Should JT Change Her Rap Name?

Last week, JT elaborated on a viral video of her and Lil Uzi Vert fighting during the BET Awards earlier this year. While some online speculated that Ice Spice could be the reason for their beef, both sides clarified that it wasn’t true. One person who disagreed with that diagnosis was A$AP Bari.

Bari was also involved in the incident and took to Instagram to refute JT’s series of events. He went on a profanity laced rant claiming that she was lying and attacking her for her low sales numbers. He concluded the rant by claiming that Ice Spice actually was involved and that Uzi mentioning her name in the song he performed helped incite the fight. What do you think of JT potentially changing her rap name going forward? Let us know in the comment section below.
