Tory Lanez, R. Kelly & More Celebrity Prisoners’ Christmas Meals Revealed

Thanks to a new TMZ report, we know how a couple of celebrity convicts like Tory Lanez and R. Kelly are spending their holidays behind bars. You might’ve caught similar coverage around Thanksgiving, as the end of a criminal case in pop culture by no means diminishes public interest in it. Sure, this is admittedly quite the voyeuristic approach, but also one that reminds folks of people’s humanity and mind state during a time in which we’re looking for joy and healing. Whether it’s Cornish hens, cornbread, or gravy, Christmas provided a silver lining for these folks. Hopefully they continue to hold themselves accountable for their crimes and can grow past their history.

Furthermore, Tory Lanez got quite the menu at California Correctional Institution Tehachapi. Reportedly, he received carrot and pineapple salad, pineapple-glazed ham, mixed vegetables, beef gravy, mashed potatoes, a dinner roll, ice cream, and a blueberry crisp. As for the rapper and singer’s current legal status, we recently got to see a new picture of him behind bars. Regardless of all the drama and conflict surrounding his conviction, he put on a smile and is hopefully having the best time he can while doing his time.

In addition to Tory Lanez, we also got reports of what R. Kelly got for his Christmas meal at FCI Butner Medium I in North Carolina. This included Cornish hens, cream of broccoli, mashed and sweet potatoes, gravy, glazed carrots, cornbread dressing, dinner rolls, and a pecan pie. However, when it comes to his time in the pen, it seems like he is facing more uphill battles than expected, although the deservedness of this is hard to deny. For example, the R&B artist sued prison workers and Tasha K for allegedly being part of a scheme to leak information concerning his case.

At these facilities, they will often do special activities or get-togethers for the holidays to give inmates some form of reprieve. Cardi B & Offset Reunite For Christmas

Cardi B and Offset have briefly reunited for Christmas. The move appears to have been made in order to minimize the disruption to their children’s holiday. In a collection of videos posted to Instagram, Cardi showed off her kids opening their various presents. However, fans quickly noticed that Offset was also present, helping Wave open some of his gifts.

However, this comes just days after Cardi was up in the club yelling “f-ck my baby daddy” for all to hear. It’s clear that the recently-split couple are only doing this for the sake of their kids and that they have no reconciled. Their breakup remains a developing story and we’ll have any updates as and when they emerge.

Meanwhile, Cardi’s aforementioned club outing led Charleston White to declare that he no longer wants to date the rapper. “I don’t like Cardi B no more. She out in the club saying ‘f-ck her baby daddy’. First all, that not her baby daddy, that her husband. That b-tch stupid. Why would a woman who be wronged by her husband go be wrong? She was dignified when they were together, why can’t she be dignified now? You’re somebody. Why you want to go back and be a ratchet, raggedy a– b-tch and a h-e?” White said to his wife.

The reversal of interest comes after White initially expressed a lot of interest in dating Cardi after news of her split from Offset first emerged. “I f-ck with the Migos. But I sure would like to go on a date with Cardi B. She’s fair game now. Why shouldn’t I go on a date with Cardi B? Cardi B can I take you out? Listen, we can do a Metaverse date. You go to a restaurant, I go to a restaurant. I used to want twelve gold teeth for Christmas, but I don’t want twelve gold teeth no more. I want a three-hour conversation with Cardi B,” White said.

Nick Cannon Visits Children’s Hospital As Santa, Dedicates Trip To Late Son

Nick Cannon swung by a California children’s hospital to bring some Christmas cheer to the kids spending the holidays away from home. The multi-hyphenate performer dressed as Santa and distributed presents across the wards. Furthermore, he dedicated the visit to his late son Zen, who passed away from cancer two years ago. “Zens’s Light shinning bright for the holidays!! Thank you to the Children’s Hospital of Orange County and everyone who made the day so loving, warm and memorable.,” Cannon wrote on Instagram.

Of course, it’s not been a wholly joyful Christmas for Cannon. Cannon was seemingly absent from Brittany Bell’s Christmas card photos. All of her children with Cannon were present, but not Cannon himself. However, on Cannon’s Instagram, it’s clear that he was present at the photo shoot. It’s unclear why Bell excluded Cannon from the shoot. However, it sparked rumors that the pair are currently beefing. However, many people were supportive of Bell’s decision. “I love how it’s always just her and the kids,” one commenter wrote on social media.

Meanwhile, 12-year-old Moroccan Scott, the son of Mariah Carey & Cannon, made his live rap debut earlier in the month. Moroccan appeared on stage in Kansas City alongside his mother on her “Merry Christmas One And All” Tour. Moroccan dropped some solid bars as his mom nodded along approvingly beside him. Chrisean Rock Gets Drunk And Throws Chairs During Pre-Christmas Rant: Watch

Chrisean Rock declared that it “isn’t Christmas” for her because she’s not spending the holidays with her “real family” this year. The rapper was seen ranting in her home with a bottle of Hennessey as she went live on Instagram. “I know nobody got me a gift,” Rock lamented. “I really feel like there’s no Christmas,” she continued sadly. Elsewhere in the stream, Rock was seen throwing a chair across the room and stripping off her jacket to continue ranting in just her sports bra and sweats. Throughout the video, someone that Rock appears to identify as her nephew can be seen coming into view and teasing Rock.

However, people online were not very sympathetic towards Rock. “Y’all I’m headed to 2024 please don’t bring this kinda nonsense in our new year ,” one person said. “Remember? Doing it now throwing chairs in the house. They act like bad kids who mom ain’t home,” added another. “Put a tree up ! Put the Drank down & make memories for the kids .. & stop being destructive and toxic,” warned a third.

Of course, this new rant comes amid a renewed wave of beef between Rock and her baby daddy, Blueface. Both parties have given differing accounts of a recent visit that Rock paid to Blue’s home. Rock later took to Instagram Live to claim that Blue had physically assaulted her. Specifically, she claimed that he had punched her while she was holding Chrisean Jr in his home. Blue has denied the allegations, claiming that Rock arrived at his home unannounced and uninvited and that she never came inside.

The allegations come a few days after Blue declared that fighting people makes him “horny”. The bizarre confession came after Soulja Boy unsurprisingly no-showed for the physical fight that Blue had challenged him to. Furthermore, news emerged that Blue had then pulled up on Rock with the intention of fighting her brother.

Young Thug Gives Back From Behind Bars, Sponsors Christmas Toy Drive

Young Thug is currently wrapped up in quite a bit of legal drama. He hasn’t let that stop him from giving back this holiday season, however. Recently, the embattled rapper joined forces with Peewee Roscoe and the Nexus Church to launch a Christmas toy drive. The event was hosted at Atlanta’s Trap Music Museum on Wednesday (December 20). It aimed to provide kids in need with gifts in time for the upcoming holiday.

“We are overjoyed to be in partnership with [Peewee Roscoe] and [Young Thug] to serve them, the families and children that will be blessed by this Christmas gifting initiative,” the church’s pastor said. “Giving shows the heart of God and it is our heart at Nexus to connect all with Christ within the community. We hope this movement of contagious unity will spread through the city and beyond.”

Young Thug’s RICO trial is currently in recess and is scheduled to resume on January 2 of next year. Jurors were sent home by Judge Ural Glanville earlier this month after Thugger’s co-defendant Shannon Stillwell was attacked at the Fulton County Jail. Allegedly, another inmate named Willie Brown stabbed Stillwell multiple times.

The YSL founder isn’t the only artist fans have seen put their personal issues aside to pay it forward this year, however. SZA, ScHoolboy Q, & More Perform At TDE’s Annual Christmas Concert

SZA, ScHoolboy Q, Jay Rock, and several other Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE) artists performed at the label’s 10th annual Christmas concert at the Nickerson Gardens Housing Project in Watts, California on Tuesday and Wednesday. Jay Rock, who grew up at Nickerson Gardens, served as the host for the two-day event. Watts previously honored him with a key to the city back in 2019.

“I grew up here and for people to see us come back and give back, it’s a blessing,” Jay Rock said in a statement. “I was one of these kids out here too. This lets them know that they can do this too. If there’s a kid out there trying to strive for something great, it’s motivation that no matter where you come from, you can make it out if you stay dedicated.”

For SZA, the performance comes as she continues to prepare for the release of her next effort, Lana. While the project initially began as a traditional deluxe version of her 2022 album, SOS, SZA admitted to Variety back in November that it was starting to feel more like its own full project. “It became more than I thought. It was gonna be something really soft because I had made all my screaming points [on ‘SOS’], and I just wanted to glide and not think [too much], and just get out of my own head. I was so happy to say some shit that didn’t mean a fucking thing. But now it’s definitely turning it into its own album. I guess I could drop another album randomly, because no one’s actually expecting that from me right now,” she told the outlet.

NBA YoungBoy Dresses As Santa Claus To Take Kids Sledding

NBA YoungBoy is spreading the holiday cheer, and also recognizing that he has the leadership and admiration to do something nice for the kids. Moreover, the rapper dressed up as Santa Claus and took people sledding through the Utah mountains, complete with Huskies and multiple carriages. It was a pretty wholesome affair for the rapper, who’s usually in the news for more conflict-driven headlines with other rappers. Nevertheless, even he isn’t immune to Christmas cheer, and he even previewed a new song with some holiday melodies and references. Sure, YB still included some typical rap subject matter in there, so he can’t quite let go of his craft.

Furthermore, it’s heartening to see YoungBoy have some pure, unbothered fun with the youth. Rarely can he engage in his personal life without facing some form of scrutiny, whether for his views or for the context around his house arrest. The 24-year-old remained quite vocal about his frustrations and struggles with this circumstance, something that he probably won’t let go of. Hopefully that clears up for him in the near future, especially leniency amid the holiday season to spend time with his loved ones.

In other news, YoungBoy actually did his part last week to spread the joyful spirit in the name of beef-squashing. In regards to his feud with Joe Budden, he then went on to claim that he “loves” the rapper and media personality, and that their bickering was solely “entertainment.” Of course, it’s very possible that the I Rest My Case hitmaker is simply playing around and trying to be petty, but it’s the holidays; how could we be so pessimistic? Budden hasn’t said much since on the matter, so it’s still a bit of an open-ended resolution.

Sure, you could watch Elf for the 500th time, but if you’re looking for something old to look at with new eyes, check out some of these holiday flicks featuring hip-hop artists or hip-hop songs on their soundtracks.

Hip-Hop Family Christmas (2021): Featuring Ne-Yo, Keri Hilton, Redman, and more, this recent hit tells the story of one of hip-hop’s most famous fictional families using a live Christmas TV special to fix their image in the wake of recent negative press coverage. The Sound of Christmas (2022): Ne-Yo also has a lead role in this holiday flick about a nanny who develops complex feelings about the millionaire that she begins to nanny for right before Christmas.

A New Diva’s Christmas Carol (2022): Ashanti stars in this modern-day twist on Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” as a once-famous songstress turned harsh judge on a reality competition show who is visited by three spirits of past, present, and future who try to show her the real meaning of Christmas- and love.

Miracles Across 125th Street (2021): Featuring Akon, Nick Cannon, Lil Kim, and more, this film tells the story of a troubled rapper who returns to his family’s Harlem church on Christmas Eve to connect with his past and hopefully work towards a better future.

Friday After Next (2002): Ice Cube stars in the third edition of the famous franchise, this time saving their Christmas by taking on the thief that stole his and Day-Day’s (Mike Epps) Christmas presents and rent money.

Dancing Through the Snow (2023): Ludacris stars in this family-friendly feature about a single father who through a turn of events, rediscovers Christmas magic with his young daughter.

Fred Claus (2007): Ludacris makes another holiday film appearance, this time as a record-spinning elf DJ in this family comedy about Fred Claus (played by Vince Vaughn), Santa’s older brother, who is forced to move to the North Pole to help Santa and the elves prepare for Christmas in exchange for cash.

This Christmas (2007): This holiday movie’s soundtrack features Chris Brown, B2K, Jordin Sparks, TLC’s famous holiday hit “Sleigh Ride,” and more.

Die Hard (1988): In the past few years, society has come to the consensus that Die Hard is indeed a Christmas movie. The film features a holiday-themed intro by Run-DMC.

The Best Man Holiday (2013): This holiday-themed sequel features John Legend, Ne-Yo, Monica, Mary J Blige, and more on its soundtrack.
