Tory Lanez Motions To Dismiss His Sentence Due To New Testimony & “Childhood Trauma”

Tory Lanez is seeking to vacate his ten-year sentence for shooting Megan Thee Stallion, according to new reports from Meghann Cuniff. The reasoning behind this legal filing stems from a new testimony on behalf of his driver and bodyguard Jauquan Smith, who did not testify during his initial trial. While he didn’t see who shot the gun, he claimed to have seen the rapper and singer try to take the weapon away from Kelsey Harris before the shooting. “[Lanez] and Ms. Harris began struggling as Mr. Peterson tried to unarm Ms. Harris,” his statement, filed this week, reads. “I was still pulling [Megan] and did not see who shot the weapon.”

Not only that, but the Canadian artist’s habeas petition for re-sentencing also brings up other factors. For one, he wants the appellate to take into account his “childhood trauma” in their assessment of his case, as he also did with the sentencing judge. In addition, Tory Lanez expressed that deportation should not have become part of this decision due to its discriminatory nature. The specifics of these arguments remain unclear, but these summaries offer some necessary context for what aspects he is dissatisfied with.

Meghann Cuniff’s Update On Tory Lanez Appeal

Furthermore, Cuniff indicated on her social media platforms and articles that authorities will consider Tory Lanez’s petition along with his appellate brief. However, no one expects them to come to a conclusive decision on the matter for a couple of months given some logistic work-arounds. For example, the three-judge panel in this appeal stated that they will consider the petition once they have the entire appellate, which they haven’t filed yet. As of writing this article, it’s due December 26, so the defense still has time to prep it accordingly. Still, we’re sure that the 31-year-old would rather move things along as fast as possible so he can get an answer.

Meanwhile, this follows his attacks against Cuniff in a new promo video. Given how this whole case has progressed since the jury decided on a verdict, we’re sure that it won’t fully be over for years to come. Hopefully we’re wrong, though, as everyone involved needs their time away from it to heal and move on with their lives. For more news and the latest updates on Tory Lanez, come back to HNHH.

Armie Hammer Reveals Suicidal Struggles & Child Abuse In First Interview Since Cannibal Accusations

Things have been quiet on Armie Hammer’s front since accusations against him regarding various heinous acts came out in 2021. Among them were cannibalism and abuse, as well as cheating on his wife and taking sexual advantage of multiple women. This weekend, it seems the embattled actor is ready to break his silence following a sit-down with Air Mail reporter, Graydon Carter.

In the exclusive conversation, the 36-year-old addresses many of the allegations thrown at him. He notably denies any criminal wrongdoing but admits that he’s not entirely proud of his past actions. “I’m here to own my mistakes. Take accountability for the fact that I was an asshole, that I was selfish. That I used people to make me feel better, and when I was done, moved on,” he tells the outlet.

Perhaps one of the biggest moments to come from Hammer and Carter’s conversation found the Gossip Girl guest star revisiting his childhood. Apparently, his love for BDSM actually started due to sexual abuse at the hands of his youth pastor at age 13.

“What that did for me was it introduced sexuality into my life in a way that it was completely out of my control,” the California native explains. “I was powerless in the situation. I had no agency in the situation. Sexuality was introduced to me in a scary way where I had no control. My interests then went to I want to have control in the situation, sexually.”

Hammer says he spoke with an older friend, as well as his godmother, Candace Garvey, about the incident. The former has since passed on. However, Carter was able to confirm the details of the account with the latter.

Elsewhere, the father of two reveals that he struggled with suicidal thoughts in the wake of the scandal. In February 2021, he recalls swimming as far out into the Cayman Islands ocean as possible. His hope was to drown, be the victim of a shark attack, or perhaps have a boat hit him and end his suffering.

“I just walked out into the ocean and swam out as far as I could,” Hammer began. “Then I realized that my kids were still on shore and that I couldn’t do that to my kids.”

Last summer, a relative of Armie’s, Casey Hammer, played a role in exposing her family’s sometimes horrendous past. She co-produced the House of Hammer docuseries. It previously premiered on Discovery+ and sheds light on the layers of family trauma that exist among other relatives.

Check out the preview for that project here, and share your thoughts on The Social Network actor’s new interview in the comments.

Chrisean Rock’s Therapy Session Finds Her Getting Real About Childhood Trauma

Chrisean Rock’s tumultuous relationship with Blueface is sheer entertainment for some, but incredibly painful to watch for others. The duo is undeniably talented at making money. However, they also have a history of physical violence within their union, and with outsiders.

The first few episodes of their Crazy In Love series on Zeus covered plenty of these antics. More recently, though, the couple has been trying out healing tactics, such as therapy, on camera.

While Rock was initially resistant to the idea of seeking mental health help, she eventually sat down with Dr. Ish to dive into her toxic relationship and traumatic childhood.

As we previously reported, while discussing things with Blueface, the 22-year-old admitted to engaging in “flip outs” when a perceived threat appears to target their rocky coupledom. “I might do certain things to get his attention, but that’s only because I want it my way,” she shared with her therapist.

Elsewhere in the same conversation, Rock revealed that growing up around her abusive father was a terrifying experience for her. According to the reality starlet, the family patriarch would lay hands on her mother, sisters, and Chrisean. “My mother, his go to was to tie her up and beat her,” the Baltimore native recalled.

“He would line all my sisters up out back against the wall. He would put me against the wall – and I ain’t do nothing – with them,” she went on, getting emotional. “Like, I’m young as f*ck, I don’t know what’s going on… He would make sure he would slap one on each cheek.”

Afterward, Dr. Ish asked the entertainer if she struggles with empty feelings inside. To this, she said that there are days when she feels the need to sleep in because “it hurts so much [she doesn’t] want to move.”

In other news, Chrisean certainly made a splash at this past weekend’s Baddies West premiere. While she donned a red carpet-ready look for the event, that didn’t stop her from throwing hands at her former stylist.
