Ryan Garcia Charged With Vandalism After Ruining Luxury Hotel Room

Star professional boxer Ryan Garcia received a misdemeanor vandalism charge stemming from his alleged meltdown at the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills. Garcia was first accused of the crime on June 8, after authorities claimed he snapped and wrecked a room and a hallway at the luxury Los Angeles area hotel. It is another instance to add to the pugilist’s year of making a regrettable choice and feeling the consequences.

L.A. County District Attorney George Gascón announced formal charges against Garcia on Thursday morning. One count of vandalism $400 or more in damage or destruction of property. If convicted, he faces up to a year in prison. He will appear before a judge on August 7. “While we are grateful no injuries were reported in this incident, reckless behavior that damages property shows a blatant and unacceptable disregard for the safety and peace of our community,” Gascón said in a public statement. “Our office will work to ensure the responsible individual is held accountable.”

Ryan Garcia Charged With Vandalism

This vandalism charge is the latest issue Ryan Garcia finds himself on the receiving end of. Garcia fought Devin Haney in April. The fight was originally for the WBC super lightweight championship. Unfortunately for Garcia, he was 3.2 pounds over the weight limit at the weigh-in. Garcia and Haney agreed to a wager that would cost the offending party $500 thousand per missed pound. That decision cost Garcia $1.5 million. Additionally, Garcia forfeited nearly $600 thousand of his purse and was ineligible to win the title. After Garcia defeated Haney, a positive drug test meant that the result did not matter. The New York State Athletic Commission declared the fight a no contest.

Garcia’s year only got worse when the NYSAC suspended him for a year for his usage of performance-enhancing drugs. Then, the WBC expelled him for using racist language. And now, he finds himself looking down the barrel of a jail stint. Garcia has been candid in discussing his mental health issues, but has reportedly declined any attempts to help him. An entirely avoidable situation for one of boxing’s former bright young stars.

Tiffany Haddish Charged For Thanksgiving DUI

Tiffany Haddish has been formally charged over her DUI arrest in the early hours of Black Friday. Around 5:45am on November 24, police received reports of a car stopped in the middle of the road and someone “slumped” over the steering wheel. Upon arriving at the scene, Haddish was roused and arrested. However, she was quickly bailed and appeared at a gig in Long Beach later that day.

Hours before her arrest, Haddish had taken to social media to express her frustration at not being able to get into an exclusive LA club. “I’m in Inglewood trying to go to the Habesha party. Trying to get my East African on. I’ve been partying with the white people. Now I’m trying to party with my East Africans, and they won’t let me in the club.” It’s unclear why Haddish was being denied entry to the club. However, she was eventually let in. After gaining entry, Haddish immediately asks “where’s the bar” before the video ends. Haddish’s case remains a developing story.

Tiffany Haddish Blamed For Kevin Hart Cancelation

Elsewhere, the decision to abruptly reschedule a Kevin Hart comedy special from this weekend to next June has been blamed by many fans on Tiffany Haddish’s recent DUI. Hart was meant to headline a comedy special at Lucas Oil Live on December 15. However, the show will now place in June 2024. Many fans have blamed this on the fact that Haddish was publicly named as one of the supporting acts. No official reason was given for the sudden cancelation. Chelsea Handler was also due to perform at the event.

However, Haddish’s work may not be the only thing being affected by her recent arrest. Her friends have also expressed concern about the Thanksgiving incident. “As soon as I heard it, I said ‘goddamn, I’m glad she’s okay. But it seems weird to me. You would think that someone would have a driver in that situation. This is tough because there’s nothing anybody’s gonna say to take away that this is her second offense. The way people look at drinking and driving. Hopefully there’s a lesson to be learned. If people want to be critical, I say f-ck that — you don’t know what a person is going through. You don’t know what’s troubling a person,” one of Haddish’s friends told The New York Post.

Pete Davidson Charged With Reckless Driving After March Crash

In early March, it was reported that Pete Davidson and Chase Sui Wonders had been involved in a car accident. Reportedly, the couple had struck a home in Beverly Hills while driving in Davidson’s Mercedes. At the time, police had ruled out that Davidson had been driving under the influence. Later, a video emerged online showing the car leaving the road and destroying a fire hydrant before crashing into the corner of a home.

While no one was hurt in the accident, the idea that Davidson may be charged was floated in April. Law enforcement revealed to TMZ that they had sent the case to the Los Angeles District Attorney for the consideration of charges. Davidson was not cited at the time of the original crash. However, the District Attorney’s Office has now made their decision.

Davidson To Face Charges

According to TMZ, Davidson has been officially charged with reckless driving. “Luckily, no one was seriously injured as a result of this collision. We know that reckless driving can have devastating consequences. In 2022, traffic fatalities in Los Angeles have reached the highest levels seen in 20 years. This is an alarming trend that we cannot ignore. As a result, it’s crucial that we take all allegations of reckless driving seriously and hold those responsible accountable,” a representative from the DA’s Office told the outlet. However, Davidson is not facing any charges relating to driving under the influence.

Reckless driving is a fairly serious charge. Penalties can include up to 90 days in jail, a $1000 charge, and points on your license. As no one was injured and the damage caused was relatively minor, Davidson should be able to avoid jail time. However, the destruction of both a utility (the fire hydrant) and private property could warrant a hefty fine and potentially further consequences in civil court. This is a developing story and we’ll have any updates here at HotNewHipHop.

André 3000 Reportedly Charged $100K For Kesha Remix Verse

Bangladesh just told a remarkable story about Kesha’s remix for her track “Sleazy,” which he worked on. However, the most surprising part about his tale was André 3000’s involvement in the new version, with him getting paid a truckload for a verse he didn’t even know if he wanted to do. In an interview with B High ATL, the producer said that fellow track producer Dr. Luke wanted him off the track because he didn’t understand his verse. “Ain’t too many n***as can say they got a 3000 verse on their beat,” Bangladesh said. “He just a discreet n***a, exclusive a** n***a, but man, 3000 one of my favorite rappers. Outkast alone one of my favorite groups of all time, Fugees, Outkast, s**t like that. And for it to be a white girl that got Bangladesh and André 3000 on her s**t? That was dope.

“I was locked in with Dr. Luke,” he continued. “Dr. Luke took a liking to me, f***ed with me, think I’m brilliant. Gave me the opportunity, cause Kesha requested me. I went out there, I made the beat right in front of them. I made the beat right in the studio and they got 3000 on it. She wanted 3000, she wanted Bangladesh and it came about.”

André 3000 Charged A “Football Field” For Kesha’s “Sleazy” Remix

“Dr. Luke told me a story about the process of getting 3 Stacks on the beat,” Bangladesh continued about André 3000. “N***a charged him a football field, that n***a charged him $100,000 for the verse, but still didn’t know if he wanted to do it So it ain’t even about money. He just wanna know if he could say something that’s real to him on this type of s**t. So he just kept giving him the runaround then he sent it to him last minute. Dr. Luke told me, ‘Man, I was gonna take it off because it was like, ‘What is he talking about?’ I’m not feeling it, like, what is he talking about?’

“I’m looking at this n-gga like, ‘What did you just say?’” the producer concluded. “Like, what did you just say? It’s probably a cultural gap and he might not understand what he’s talking about cause he’s saying something real on such a commercial record. You have to really be from that to know what he saying and appreciate what he doing. But to say you’re gonna take him off of it after you gave him $100,000… I would never take 3000 off of anything.” Regardless of your take on the verse’s worth, let us know what you think about this tale in the comments.
