DJ Envy’s Cesar Pina Co-Sign Led To Numerous Investments, Claim Alleged Fraud Victims

The DJ Envy and Cesar Pina story has been capturing the minds of rap fans for weeks. Early rumors began to swirl last month when local news reports identified Pina as the person at the center of an alleged real estate fraud scheme. Multiple investigators came forward claiming that he had essentially stolen thousands from them and journalist investigations backed up their claims. At the time, Envy was considered as one of the potential victims of the scam.

But even then some suspected that he may be more involved than he wanted to let on and that debate has raged ever since. Some of the first people to throw gasoline on the fire were former business partners and other figures in the rap game. They called Envy out for his shady business practices and associating with somebody he should have known was scamming people. As lawsuits began to swirl around Pina, Envy finally addressed the allegations on an October 11 episode of The Breakfast Club. But that acknowledgement didn’t help calm any of the noise surrounding Envy and Pina down.

Cesar Pina Arrested As Fans Dig Through DJ Envy’s History

Last week, things official spun out of control for Envy. On the 19th Pina was officially hit with fraud charges. In the wake of that news there was a lot of speculation. In the immediate aftermath there were claims swirling that The Breakfast Club was looking for a new co-host and that there was an FBI raid of iHeartRadio spawning from an investigation into him. While neither seem to actually be true, some of the damage had already been done.

Envy’s attorney has maintained that he is more of a victim in the case than anything else. That was backed by some of the statements Pina has made since his arrest. Despite that, fans and rappers have continued to bash Envy for his involvement in the alleged scheme. What do you think of the newest developments in Cesar Pina and DJ Envy’s allegedly fraudulent real estate scheme? Let us know in the comment section below.

DJ Envy’s lawyer spoke with famed court reporter Meghann Cuniff, who details The Breakfast Club host’s relationship with Cesar Pina.

Speaking with Envy’s lawyer, Massimo D’Angelo, Cuniff reports that “Envy is going to be assisting and cooperating fully” to get money back for himself and his victims.

D’Angelo said Envy invested $500K with Pina and “didn’t get any money back.” Adding, “He paid out substantial sums similar to some of the other investors who thought they were getting money back.”

Earlier this month, federal agents arrested DJ Envy’s former business partner Cesar Pina on Wednesday.

According to Tony “The Closer” Robinson, Pina, a.k.a. “Flipping NJ,” is accused of running a real estate Ponzi scheme. He is charged with scamming investors out of millions of dollars.

DJ Envy, real name RaaShaun Casey, is a co-defendant in multiple lawsuits filed by investors who say they were ripped off by Pina in an elaborate Ponzi scheme.

Envy and Pina held seminars to lure hundreds of investors to flip distressed properties for profit. But investors say Pina took their money and ran. DJ Envy also promoted the seminars on iHeart Radio’s popular Breakfast Club morning show.

Many victims said they invested with Pina because DJ Envy was his business partner and they trusted Envy.

But DJ Envy denied any involvement in the Ponzi scheme. He said he’s also a victim because he gave money to Pina.

Jose Santiago and his wife, Jessica Ortiz told News 4 they invested $200,000 in a Paterson, NJ property that Pina claimed he owned.

“He’s advertising this all over radio and television, so I thought this was legit,” Santiago said.

Nigel Chamblin said he invested nearly $1 million in several properties that Pina claimed he owned. But Pina didn’t own any of the properties.

“There were other people investing in these exact same properties,” Chamblin told News 4. “It was a scam, it was a lie.”

DJ Envy Is Innocent, Claims Cesar Pina In New Video

DJ Envy and Cesar Pina are two names that have dominated hip-hop discussion. Overall, it has to do with Pina and his alleged real estate scam. He was arrested and subsequently released on bond last week. However, Envy is now being questioned for his alleged role in all of this. After hosting seminars with Pina, many believe Envy is guilty. Last night, Pina went on a livestream and did his best allege Envy’s innocence.

“You have all these people being coerced to sue people affiliated with me just because they are a bigger name,” Pina said. “That’s the situation that breaks my heart. In all these lawsuits, these 20 lawsuits, DJ Envy was never in the room with me. DJ Envy has nothing to do with any of these 20 lawsuits of these people that are suing me. It f**king sucks, bro. It pisses me off that all these people are bashing DJ Envy…What you gotta understand is, DJ Envy is so successful in hip-hop, as far as a DJ, that people just don’t like him.”

Cesar Pina Talks DJ Envy

Subsequently, he spoke on a recent statement from Envy’s lawyer. Overall, Massimo D’Angelo is claiming Envy is a victim. However, Pina does not see it that way at all. “I understand his attorney, his defense to DJ Envy is a victim. That’s the dumbest sh*t I ever heard in my life,” Pina noted “Me and him were partners in the real estate seminars. We are partners in a couple of real estate transactions. That’s it. He’s not a victim. He was my partner. He was an investor.”

These statements could go a long way in helping Envy get out of this matter. However, it still remains to be seen whether or not the law will see it that way. DJ Envy To Cooperate In Cesar Pina Case, Attorney Calls Radio Host A “Victim”

DJ Envy is currently being investigated as part of the arrest of Cesar Pina. For those who don’t know, Pina stands accused of running a real estate scheme. Overall, it is alleged that Pina committed wire fraud and stole money from investors. Envy was Pina’s business partner and the two could be seen in various videos together. However, Envy has maintained his innocence this whole time. In fact, he believes he is a victim in all of this as Pina made off with his money, as well.

This belief was recently corroborated by Envy’s lawyer, Massimo D’Angelo. While speaking to XXL, D’Angelo explained that Envy believes he is a victim. Furthermore, he intends to cooperate completely with the investigation. “DJ Envy is a victim of the purported fraudulent real estate scheme and sits in the same shoes of the other victims, and, of course, he will assist and cooperate to get his investment back, along with those of the other alleged victims,” D’Angelo said to XXL.

DJ Envy Maintains Innocence

Overall, this statement by D’Angelo is very much in line with everything else that Envy has said in the past. For instance, Envy was on The Breakfast Club where he said all he wanted to do was “uplift” his community. Although his legal representation has told him to stay quiet on all of this, he does seem eager to clear his name. Given his connections to Pina, and the public videos of the two together, a lot of damage has already been done in the public eye.

This is still a developing story with plenty of moving parts. Having said that, be sure to stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. We will always be sure to keep you informed. Additionally, let us know what you think of all this, in the comments below.

DJ Envy & iHeartRadio Offices Investigated By Feds Amid Real Estate Scam Allegations: Report

In case you missed it, this morning, we reported on how DJ Envy’s business partner Cesar Pina was arrested in New Jersey. He was subsequently hit with wire fraud charges before being released on bond. Overall, this all stems from allegations that Pina was stealing money from real estate investors. He and Envy were hosting numerous seminars about investing in the real estate market. However, things fell apart when people began accusing Pina of taking their money and never giving it back.

As for Envy, he was never accused of stealing money directly. Instead, many are accusing him of introducing them to Pina, who then went on to steal the money. Due to Envy’s association with Pina, it would appear that the radio host is now under Federal investigation. According to a report from NBC, the iHeartRadio offices were visited by Federal agents who proceeded to take some electronic equipment with them. Just last week, Envy spoke on the case and proclaimed his innocence in all of it.

DJ Envy Awaits Investigation

“Let me explain some things,” DJ Envy explained “So Cesar and myself did seminars. Now, the reason I did these seminars is because I wanted to uplift my community. I wanted to teach my community about real estate. Things that I didn’t know when I was buying my first home. So I did these seminars and brought industry professionals to all these seminars, whether it was real estate agents from different markets, contractors, money lenders. I even brought Auction.com to actually show people how to purchase houses online. Now Cesar, if he took money, I wasn’t privy to it nor did I even know. But I do understand how people feel if they did give him money because I gave him a lot of money that I didn’t see a dollar of return.”

DJ Envy Real Estate Associate Hit With Fraud Charges

DJ Envy has been wrapped up in some pretty wild allegations as of late. Overall, it all stems from his association to Cesar Pina. The two were in business together as they sought to teach people how to invest in real estate. Pina has been accused of taking money from people and ultimately screwing them out of their investments. Although Envy is not being accused of doing the same, he does stand accused of funneling clients over to Pina.

According to RLS Media, Pina has been arrested on fraud charges in New Jersey. He was subsequently released on $1 million bond, however, he still faces wire-fraud charges. As of right now, DJ Envy has yet to make a statement on any of this. However, during an episode of The Breakfast Club last week, Envy did address some of the allegations.
