Cardi B Will Not Face Charges in Las Vegas Mic-Throwing Incident

Cardi B on Mic Throwing Incident: 'I Said Splash my P****, No My Face'

Cardi B will not face charges over a microphone-throwing incident last weekend at a performance in Las Vegas.

Speaking with Cardi’s legal team of Drew Findling, David Chesnoff and Richard Schonfeld, TMZ reports, “This afternoon we were notified by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Dept., that as a result of their investigation, there will be NO charges against Cardi. On behalf of Cardi, we appreciate the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Dept’s diligent and prompt resolution of this matter.”

The microphone Cardi B threw into a concert crowd in Las Vegas is now up for sale on eBay.

A production company owns the mic called The Wave, and was leased out to Drai’s Nightclub for the event. The owner, Scott Fisher, of The Wave, tells TMZ the microphone is being auctioned off to benefit charities.

Fisher stated the mic is still working and can be purchased here. Maybe Drake will buy it. The starting bid is $500; the current bid price is $50,800.

In case you missed it, Cardi B rocketed her microphone at a fan who threw a drink at her, splashing her in the face. According to Variety, the fan reported with the Las Vegas Metro Police Department on Sunday (July 30).

“On July 30, 2023, an individual came into an LVMPD police station to report a battery,” the LVMPD statement reads. “According to the victim, she was attending an event on July 29, 2023, at a property located in the 3500 block of Las Vegas Boulevard. During a concert, she was struck by an item that was thrown from the stage.”

In a new clip, Cardi says, “I said splash my pussy, not my face bitch.” It was the departing message for Cardi’s set.

That wasn’t the only time Cardi threw a mic. The night before, the DJ at her Drai’s show caught a mic too. There aren’t any details why she tossed the mic in that incident.

50 Cent Said He Won’t Pick Sides Between Cardi B And Nicki Minaj But Went All-In On One Anyway

The feud between Cardi B and Nicki Minaj has cooled off since their open conflict in 2018, but that doesn’t mean it’s over. Now, it’s more of a Cold War, as we saw last year when they renewed hostilities mainly through proxies like Akbar V and JT after Nicki apparently demanded a blood oath in exchange for a slot on the “Super Freaky Girl (Queen Mix).”

Likewise, most observers have remained cautiously neutral (although that hasn’t exactly been a winning strategy either). There is, however, one exception: 50 Cent, the king of controversy himself. Never one to shy away from a hot take or a chance to stir the pot, 50 weighed in on the feud between the two in a new interview with Billboard celebrating the 20th anniversary of his debut album.

At first, he feigns reluctance to choose a side, saying, “Hip-hop culture makes you battle. I love Nicki Minaj, but the funny sh*t is, I like watching her when she’s upset… When Cardi B came, I thought she was dope… When her and Nicki clash, I go, ‘Oh, sh*t, it’s going to be interesting to watch how it plays out.’ Lyrically, I won’t say anything competitively about the two of them.”

It didn’t take him long to throw in with his fellow Queens native, though, admitting, “… I love Nicki. I don’t have anything against Cardi. I think anyone who comes now, she is going to check their temperature. Nicki is going to check if this b*tch is friendly or looking to take over the sh*t.”

Nicki certainly does that, although in more recent years, she’s mellowed out to the point of working with Coi Leray, Doja Cat, and the Queen Mix crew. However, it doesn’t look like she’s revising her longstanding policy anytime soon, and for some — especially those who, like 50, relish the battle side of hip-hop — that’s just fine.

Last night, rapper Kodak Black took to his Instagram stories to react to PNB Rock’s passing. The Philadelphia rapper passed after being shot in Los Angeles during a robbery. Many have added that he was murdered after his girlfriend posted their location on Instagram.

Kodak posted a photo of his view from a plane and wrote over it, saying, “Big jets. Only jets anyways. Mannn I been low all day due to a headache I had earlier so I’m just getting to the news RF.”

He continued, “Ion usually speak on deaths! Go to funerals or nun kuz life goes on, but, SMH. PnB was my boy, I was jus OTP wit em last night! We be talkin bout him comin back out & poppin his shit again in this rap shit.”

“That hoe might as well kill herself,” he concluded.

Black added mentioning the photo has been circulating on social media, which Rock’s girlfriend posted on her personal Instagram account showing her food and the location of where they were.

The Los Angeles Times has reported that Rock was targeted for his jewelry.

Nicki Minaj and Cardi B. Each have also offered their outtakes on Rock’s passing.

“After Pop Smoke there’s no way we as rappers or our loved ones are still posting locations to our whereabouts,” Minaj began in a Tweet, referencing how Pop’s address had been posted on social media before his death. “To show waffles & some fried chicken????! He was such a pleasure to work with. Condolences to his mom & family. This makes me feel so sick. Jesus.”

After receiving backlash for her take, Minaj tweeted “The ppl around these rappers gain so much. It’s time to start really reminding them over & over!!! At least TRY to put your foot down if you CARE! Tell them!!! You’re not loved like you think you are!!! You’re prey!!!! In a world full of predators!!!! What’s not clicking???!!!”

In another tweet, she highlighted how being a mother influenced her decision to speak out on the situation. “Ima say what I want. As a RAPPER & as a MOTHER. I know 1st hand how these guys feel coming from the streets then being able to provide for their moms. My heart is hurting for the MOTHERS OF THESE KIDS that tried to make something better of their lives!!! LETS EDUCATE ASAP!!!

Cardi B had a different response to the details around Rock’s situation, discouraging people to place any blame for his death on his girlfriend. “I highly doubt n****s was looking at PMB’s babymom IG. He was in a bad location and people stay outside plotting. It’s very irresponsible and inconsiderate to blame her for something so tragic. We should be sending nothing but love to her and his family at this time.”

After Rock’s death, DJ Akademiks posted footage from an unreleased interview he did with the rapper a week-and-a-half ago. The video showed Rock revealing a time during the pandemic that he felt he had been targeted in a near-robbery attempt.
Watch the video below.

Rest in power PNb Rock our condolences to your family and loved ones.
