Cardi B Shows Off Her New Face Tattoo For The First Time

For a good chunk of 2022, it has been Cardi B’s mission to get a face tattoo. Back in January, she tweeted, “Random but ….I’m 1% close too tatting my sons name on my face….I really really wanna do it!” She then added, “I want mine on my jaw.” That wasn’t just a fleeting thought that quickly faded away: Last month, photos and video surfaced of the new ink, which sure enough was on her jaw and appeared to be text of her son’s name, Wave. Now, Cardi herself has shown it off for the first time.

In an Instagram Live broadcast on Saturday (September 10), she pulls the hair on the side of her face aside and shows off the red ink on her jaw, which does indeed say “Wave.” Cardi said, “I tatted my son’s name because I love him. And I tatted my daughter’s name.” As for that second tattoo, Cardi showed it off on her arm.

Also over the weekend, Cardi took the time to empathize with people struggling as inflation continues to increase, saying, “The way that the prices soared up… how are people surviving? I wanna know!”

Cardi B Is Just As Upset About Inflation As You Are: ‘How Are People Surviving?’

One thing about Cardi B is she keeps a finger on the national pulse and always has a response that reflects how the average person might be feeling about current events. Although she has stopped talking about politics, she’s still a news junkie at heart, just as likely to ask for empathy in the wake of a heartbreaking tragedy as she is to illuminate fears of an impending global pandemic.

Naturally, the “WAP” rapper had a pretty salient take on a pair of related crises in a live stream over the weekend. Taking on inflation and the housing crisis, Cardi gave a pretty apt breakdown of the problem while sharing her relatable response. Clicking her signature nails on her table, she recalled how she helped two cousins get apartments months apart, only to discover that rent prices had skyrocketed in the time since. “The way that the prices soared up… how are people surviving?” she wondered. “I wanna know!”

She pointed out how not everyone has a Cardi B in their life to help them out. She also flexed a little bit, shutting down critics who want to blame this global crisis on US President Joe Biden. “I wanna tell y’all that I get it,” she stressed. “Don’t ever think I’m one of these rich people that don’t get it and don’t give a f*ck… but I can’t do sh*t about it.” You can check out Cardi’s full video below.

Megan The Stallion Responds To The ‘WAP’ Conservative Backlash: ‘I Think They Secretly Like It’

On Hillary and Chelsea Clinton’s new docuseries, Gutsy, the mother-daughter duo sits down with women artists, activists, and leaders inspiring change. In the series’ second episode, the two sit down with Megan Thee Stallion, as they each paint a portrait while discussing the criticism and misogyny they’ve faced in their careers.

“I kind of came to awareness of you with Cardi B, ‘WAP,‘” said Hillary, referring to the collaboration the pair dropped two years ago.

“I’ve always wanted to do a song with Cardi,” Megan said. “As soon as she sent it to me, I think I sent [my verses] back to her the next day.”

“It’s great to see women be so fierce,” said Chelsea.

Elsewhere in the interview, Chelsea asked Megan, “Were you surprised by the conservative backlash to you?”

Megan responded, “I was surprised that in this day in time, when you have so many options of so many things to look at and listen to, that the first thing you want to critique and talk about is something that you don’t like.”

Hillary then refers to Megan’s video for “Thot Sh*t,” in which an elected official is seen watching one of Megan’s music videos, and commenting on the video calling Megan and her dancers, “stupid regressive whores.” This portion of the video is likely in response to commentary from political commentators like Ben Shapiro, who called the song “really really really vulgar.”

“They dissect my lyrics, they dissect my life,” Megan said. “Well, let me give y’all something y’all might actually want to see. So I’m like, ‘Boom, here you go.’ I think they secretly like it.”

“I do too,” Chelsea said.

“I feel like they’re the majority of the views,” Megan said.

All episodes of Gutsy are now available for streaming on Apple TV+

Cardi B Shared Photos From When She Was In High School And Says, ‘I Wasn’t Emo!’

Cardi B has a hot and cold relationship with social media and Twitter in particular. Back in April, she left the platform for two weeks because fans were harassing her for skipping the Grammys. You have to wonder why a big name celebrity like the “I Like It” singer spends their time engaging with trolls and shifty fans. But when she does, it’s typically gold. And for the most part, Cardi is just trying to have some fun. So when she posted a series of photos from her high school days in The Bronx yesterday, some fans were having some fun with her.

“Ghetto teenager……fun fact -The emo kids in school were actually really cool and will give me free cigarettes,” she wrote along with four photos from her as a high schooler. One photo focused on her eyebrow piercing, in another she was lighting a cigarette in another, and on the last one, she was holding a vodka bottle looking, well…sorta emo.

One user definitely thought Cardi was the emo kid herself and let her know, saying, “Idky the last pic got me screaming. Emo Cardi was deep in that sh*t.”

Cardi B got defensive, but she clearly was having a good time with it. “I wasn’t EMO ….I was pierced cause Piercings was a big thing in the Bronx specially since this was the side lip piercing era,” she tweeted. “However they were a lot of emo kids in my school I will have history convos wit them while they give me free cigarettes [cry laughing emoji].”

So you be the judge. Was Cardi B an emo kid in high school? If her thoughts on My Chemical Romance are any indication, then this case is closed.

How Much Did Cardi B Make From OnlyFans?

Anticipation is high for Cardi B’s sophomore album. But while she’s only put out one single this year, Cardi has been securing the bag. According to a report by research publisher Statista, Cardi pulled in an average of $9.3 million per month on OnlyFans in 2021.

If these numbers are correct, this means Cardi earned about $112 million last year solely by way of OnlyFans.

Although OnlyFans has become a platform for creators to share explicit images and videos, Cardi offers Q&A sessions and personal life updates, holding up her “Bodak Yellow” line, “I don’t dance now, I make money moves.” On OnlyFans, Cardi only charges fans a fee of $4.99 per month. When she realized that the platform was charging her subscribers $10.99 per month, she decided to lower it, citing the loyalty of her fans as the main reason.

“Ya spend too much on vinyls and my merch,” she said in a tweet.

Cardi launched her OnlyFans in August of 2020, following the release of her Megan Thee Stallion collaboration, “WAP.” One of the first pieces of content she shared was a behind-the-scenes clip of the making of the buzzy video.
