Leaked Documentary: Kanye West’s Unearthed 2018 Rants Targets Cardi B, Teyana Taylor & More In Shocking Footage

Kanye West

Kanye West has recently been in the spotlight as leaked footage from an unnamed documentary reveals his candid and controversial rants about fellow artists and celebrities such as Cardi B, Teyana Taylor, and more. These leaked rants from 2018 have sparked a mixture of reactions from fans and observers alike. ‘Industry Plant’ After a series […]

What Did Kanye West Say About Cardi B?

Did you know that Cardi B is an Illuminati plant?

At least, that’s what Kanye West seemed to think in leaked video clip that has gone viral on Twitter (which I, personally, am never going to call “X”). In the clip, Kanye says, Cardi B is a plant by the Illuminati… She doesn’t write her raps. She’s just there to sound as ignorant as possible. She’s literally replaced Nicki Minaj purposely… She thinks it’s a blessing from the universe, it ain’t no f*cking blessing.”

Now, it’s important to take all this with a grain of salt. Kanye’s hair and clothing in the video suggest that it was shot sometime in 2018, when he was in the middle of his “bipolar is my superpower,” communing-with-nature-in-Wyoming era. You may recall that a documentary was being shot around that time and he also had some not-so-nice things to say to his onetime collaborator Chance The Rapper. He’s also known being somewhat… let’s just say “erratic” — both before this clip and more recently.

Likewise, since the video was shot, Kanye has worked with Cardi B (and Lil Durk) on her 2022 single “Hot Sh*t.” Cardi herself reminded followers that ‘Ye has also been plenty complimentary of her mic skills as well, posting a clip from Kanye’s 2022 interview with Jason Lee of Hollywood Unlocked in which he contradicts the above statements. “I’ve always believed in her since she was on Love & Hip-Hop: New York,” he said.

Is it “Oochie Wally” or is “One Mic,” Kanye?

Old Doc Footage Shows Kanye West Calling Cardi B an Industry Plant Made to Replace Nicki Minaj

Kanye West was once not a fan of Cardi B. In leaked footage from a 2008 documentary, Ye called Cardi B an “industry plant” created by the Illuminati to take Nicki Minaj’s spot.

“Cardi B is a plant by the Illuminati,” Ye said. “She don’t write her raps. She just there to sound as ignorant as possible and then make songs like, ‘fuck them and get some money.’ She has literally replaced Nicki Minaj, purposely that they put her there, and now she doesn’t know what to do, and she has no idea what the fuck is going on. She thinks it’s just a blessing from the universe. It ain’t no blessing from the universe.”

But Cardi isn’t holding any beef within the old clip. In fact, she shared a video where Ye praised her during a sit-down with Jason Lee. The accompanying message was a heart emoji. You can see it below.

Kanye West Called Cardi B An ‘Illuminati Plant’ In A Leaked Recording, So She Clapped Back With A Clip Of Her Own

In 2020, Kanye West took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his frustrations with record labels by leaking his contract with Universal Music Group. But that explosive moment wouldn’t be the last time a music label would be the center of one of the “Praise God” rapper’s random rants. In a now-viral clip, West took aim at Atlantic Records and one of their star acts, Cardi B.

During a phone call, West called out a host of industry professionals in what appears to be leaked footage from a documentary. “Cardi B is a plant by the Illuminati,” declared West.

He added, “She doesn’t write her raps. She’s just there to sound as ignorant as possible. She’s literally replaced Nicki Minaj purposely… She thinks it’s a blessing from the universe, it ain’t no f*cking blessing.”

After Cardi received wind of his statement, she subtly responded to her “Hot Sh*t” collaborator with her own clip. Last year, West sat down with Hollywood Unlocked’s Jason Lee. During their chat, he shared his admiration for Cardi.

“I’ve always believed in her since she was on the show,” said West, seemingly referring to her time on the reality show Love & Hip-Hop: New York.

Cardi B Slays “Hot Ones”—5 Takeaways From Her Spicy Interview

Cardi B is an artist known for her eccentric personality inside and outside the music. Whether she’s being interviewed by Jimmy Fallon or by niche music journalist Nardwuar, clips from the interactions often go viral. People gravitate towards her no-filter authenticity, which is humorous and engaging. During her recent appearance on Hot Ones, host Sean Evans saw this firsthand and discovered some previously unknown things about her.

Viewers have praised Sean for his interview skills, and Cardi even complimented him at the end of the interview. For many viewers, this interview was the perfect mix of entertaining and informative. Even her die-hard fans commented about learning something new about her during it. In this list, we’ve gathered five things that stuck out most during Cardi’s time on “the show with hot questions and even hotter wings.”

She Didn’t Know If “Bongos” Would Be A Hit

Cardi B is no stranger to songs that are immensely successful, but even she can’t predict if the same level of success will happen every time. Upon hearing the beat of the song for the first time, she just knew it made her want to dance. She played the completed version for her husband, fellow rapper Offset, and he gave it his co-sign. Cardi also knew the music video for the song had to match the tropical party feeling it gave her and wanted this feeling to be accented by luxury. They brought designer Harris Reed in to create several hats that displayed the luxurious essence Cardi wanted, and she praised how his big and bold designs lined up with her vision excellently.

Cardi B Prefers To Make “Fun” Music

Many of Cardi B’s chart-topping hits feature her on an upbeat instrumental where she discusses having a good time or takes pride in her many abilities and wants as a woman. However, tracks like “Get Up 10” from her debut album Invasion of Privacy are far from this. Many of her listeners have asked why she does not make similar music. They believe it truly showcases her abilities as a rapper and shows a vulnerable side to her personality. In this interview, she says she doesn’t because the masses may not relate to her pain and struggle. Her preference is to have a track like that open the album and then let the rest of the album be about having fun.

She Hates Doing Clean Versions Of Songs

Like most people, Cardi B is not a fan of the clean version of songs. A sense of loss comes with censoring lyrics, which can sometimes throw off an entire bar. Cardi called it “annoying,” citing the clean lyrics she had to say as “corny” and comparing them to Kidz Bop music. Rappers often have to censor themselves when performing songs on television, although sometimes, something may slip out in the heat of the moment. In some cases, artists will purposely not edit themselves because they believe it compromises their creativity. The fact she admitted she doesn’t like it but has to so her music can reach the masses is two sides of one coin for an artist of her status.

Cardi B Doesn’t Believe In Aliens

Cardi B has the type of personality where she can give her feedback on any topic and have something interesting or funny to say about it. Sean Evans cited how Cardi said she wanted more people to ask her about current events, so he decided to question her about one of the most popular recent topics in the news today: aliens. “I don’t believe the aliens are real,” she said. “If aliens are real…and they’re smarter than us…why haven’t they invaded us?” Cardi believes they would want to control humans simply because we are power-hungry, and they know they could overtake us if they wanted to.

She Is A Big Fan Of American History

Deep knowledge and interest in American history is something sometimes associated with underground rappers or legacy artists but Cardi B’s interest in it was surprising to many viewers. She segued into the topic after Sean asked her about her interview with David Letterman and shared that visiting Franklin D. Roosevelt’s house with him was her favorite memory. She beamed excitedly about how surreal it felt to be in the same room where FDR and Winston Churchill discussed the nuclear bomb.

“Anybody that loves and knows me knows I love FDR. And I love Eleanor Roosevelt,” she shared. While watching the Hot Ones interview, it’s clear there were some timelapse edits as Cardi shared multiple facts about the former President and his wife. She shared that war fascinates her and prefers learning about World War II more than World War I.

Cardi B Explained Her Obsession With World War II History And Why It’s Such A ‘Moment’ For Her

As Cardi B says in her new interview with Hot Ones, anyone who knows her knows she’s a big history buff. And as she reveals in the interview, her favorite era of US History is World War II (she’s just like your dad!). She explains why as she struggles through the pain of munching on the “world’s hottest wings” (using her ultra long nails as “tweezers” to pick them up!).

“I’m obsessed with World War II,” she says, recalling her visit to Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s house. “I’m obsessed with just learning everything about it so for me to just be in the same room that Churchill and FDR was discussing the nuke, it was just such a moment for me.” She enjoyed talking about the moment so much, that she actually recovered from the 8th wing, the infamous Da Bomb (of course, there’s also a slick edit from the Hot Ones team, so it definitely took a while).

Cardi’s album rollout is off to a great start; between releasing “Bongos” with Megan Thee Stallion, performing it at the VMAs, and delivering an all-timer interview with Hot Ones, Cardi’s name should be lingering on listeners’ tongues the way Da Bomb did on hers. You can watch the full Hot Ones interview above.
