Bryson Tiller Debuts A New Era On Self-titled Album

Bryson Tiller’s claim to fame was his debut album T R A P S O U L back in 2015. However, this new project over here, his self-titled LP, could overtake the throne for his best work. The Louisville, Kentucky rapper and singer has been taking some time to conjure up something fresh and diverse and that is exactly what this record offers up.

This was probably the smartest move Bryson could have made. While his first album is considered a modern R&B classic, the sound would grow a little stale on True to Self and A N N I V E R S A R Y. There was still quality on both, but adding some spice to the instrumentals and cadences is a welcome sight. Leading up to Bryson Tiller’s self-titled album he put out “Whatever She Wants” and “Stay Gold,” as part of his SLUM TILLER series that dropped on Soundcloud. Those projects were a part of his Tiller Tuesdays release schedule that began earlier this year.

Both were fan-favorites and now they make it onto the album. Additionally, Bryson dropped a third track, “CALYPSO,” which has also been a success. The progressive instrumental that mixes dancehall and R&B brings a fun and loose listening experience from beginning to end. Those two adjectives can describe the journey from track one to track 19. Bryson Tiller is back in full force and with an enticing new direction in the process.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new album, Bryson Tiller, by Bryson Tiller? Is this his best body of work ever, why or why not? What songs are you gravitating toward right now? Bryson Tiller Considering Music Break To Pursue Video Game Design and Be More Present for His Children

Bryson Tiller Hosts Star-Studded Listening Party for Highly Anticipated Album

Time flies. Bryson Tiller has been in the game for almost ten years. But it seems the “Don’t” singer and songwriter may take a break from being an artist as we know him.

As reported by Complex following an exclusive interview, Tiller surprised his fans by saying he wants to pursue the gaming world. He explicitly followed his interest in video game design after releasing his upcoming fourth album, which will drop on April 5.

“This is probably gonna be my last one for a minute,” Tiller said about his first album in nearly four years. “I just wanna take a hiatus ’cause my No. 1 passion is video games. I’ve been designing a game for the past three years,” adding, “I’ve been looking into internships with different companies.”

Outside of his creative pursuits, the Trapsoul artist mentioned he wanted to focus on being a good father and being more present for his children. “After this album comes out, obviously, I’m gonna go out, touch the people, see the world and tour as much as I can,” he said.

“I want to focus on, No. 1, is getting closer to my daughters. My oldest daughter is 10 years old now. I’m tired of telling her I gotta work, or I gotta be in the studio, and then we can hang out.”

Then Tiller shared why video game design so attractive to him. “The thing about game design is super cool ’cause I can do it from anywhere. I could be next to her while she’s gaming. It’s just what I love to do, and it doesn’t feel like work.”

He also continued, “If you love all music then you’ll probably love most of it. I wanted to show where I could go with it if I chose to.” Tiller also said “I really just want this album to be about myself more than anything, so I don’t want to bring too many people in.”

Whether it’s gaming or being a more active father, both are admirable for the already accomplished Bryson Tiller.

Bryson Tiller Wants To Take A Hiatus From Music And Focus On His Other Passion, Video Game Design

Bryson Tiller is known to take long breaks between albums. But after his upcoming self-titled fourth studio album drops next month, he may take a bit longer. In an interview with Complex, Tiller revealed he plans to take a hiatus from music for a while to pursue his passion — video game design.

“This is probably gonna be my last one for a minute,” said Tiller of the upcoming album. ““I just wanna take a hiatus ’cause my number one passion is video games. I’ve been designing a game for the past three years. I’ve been looking into internships with different companies.”

But not to worry, fans. Tiller says he still plans to meet his fans and visit their cities for the time being. However, following tour, he plans to prioritize his family.

“I want to focus on, number one is getting closer to my daughters,” said Tiller. “My oldest daughter is 10 years old now. I’m tired of telling her I gotta work or I gotta be in the studio and then we can hang out.”

Thankfully, this pivot will allow Tiller to spend time with his loved ones, as he’ll be able to work from anywhere.

“The thing about game design, it’s super cool ’cause I can do it from anywhere. I could be next to her while she’s gaming. It’s just what I love to do and it doesn’t feel like work.”

Bryson Tiller Reveals Crazy Story How “Don’t” Remix With Drake Was Derailed By Producer

The excitement around Bryson Tiller is such a refreshing feeling to have. The Kentucky singer and rapper is finally returning with a new studio album in about three weeks. Bryson Tiller will be out April 5 and we have already received some amazing tracks, “Whatever She Wants” and “Calypso.” It will be his fourth project and it is shaping up to be a special self-titled LP. There is a possibility it rivals his debut T R A P S O U L. It will be a tall task, especially with the amount of hits it has. “Don’t” is a great stand-alone Bryson Tiller record, but imagine Drake were to hop on a remix?

Well, that almost happened back in 2015 according to Uproxx. Tiller sat down with Complex to talk about the upcoming record and T R A P S O U L came up too. “Don’t” was naturally discussed and Bryson revealed a crazy story of how Drake was about to remix it. According to the Louisville native, the song’s producer, Epikh Pro, was getting word from a Young Money representative that Drake was interested in the beat. Tiller explains that Epik asked him to sell it back to him, not knowing that the Canadian icon was already talking to Bryson.

Bryson mentioned that the producer, who sold him the beat from SoundClick, never wanted to get on the phone with him. That had to be slightly frustrating because it wound up costing both artists a chance at giving the beatmaker some more recognition. “I was like, ‘Yo, bro just call me.’ And after I told him that, he just spazzed on me. He was like, ‘Nah, I ain’t doing this, man.’ He just blocked his own blessings. It’s crazy,” Tiller said.

What are your thoughts on Bryson Tiller and Drake almost collaborating for a remix of “Don’t?” Do you think the song would have been better or worse with him on it? Is this track still in your rotation today? Are you excited for Tiller’s upcoming self-titled album?
