Charlamagne Tha God Claims Drake’s 100 GB Drop Is Part Of An Album Rollout

Drake is doing the most right now. The rapper revealed a second Instagram account with memes aimed at other rappers. He also dropped a staggering 100 GB’s of new and unreleased material. Fans are still sifting through it all, but Charlamagne Tha God sees the bigger picture. At least, he claims to see it. The radio personality hopped on The Breakfast Club on Wednesday and theorized that Drake’s drop is much more calculated than it seems. He also claimed that the new material is in service of an upcoming album.

Charlamagne tha God felt that Drake failed to play to his strengths by staging a seemingly “organic” drop. Given what the radio host, and the public writ large, knows about Drizzy, everything he does is planned out. “That’s the issue, right. Drake just doing stuff,” Charlamagne Tha God explained. “There’s no direction to it. He’s trying to make it look organic, like it’s nothing, like it’s effortless.” Especially, in Charlamagne’s opinion, when the endgame is so apparent. He feels like Drake is trying to gage public interest in him after the disastrous Kendrick Lamar battle. “This is clearly a rollout,” the host explained. “He’s putting his toe in the water. He wants to see how people feel about him.”

Charlamagne Tha God Thinks Drake Is Gaging Fan Interest

Charlamagne tha God has a point when it comes to Drake “just doing stuff.” The Toronto rapper has been teasing lots of different projects throughout July. So many, in fact, it’s hard to keep track. He has unreleased songs with Conductor Williams in the stash. He has the trio of songs he just dropped with Young Thug, Latto, and 21 Savage. Drizzy also has a joint album with PARTYNEXTDOOR set for release in the fall. Not enough? How about a rumored European tour that riffs on Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” diss. In his 100 GB drop, the 6 God posted merch emblazoned with the title “No One Likes Us 2024.”

Charlamagne tha God assured Drake that the fans will be receptive. “Drake, you’re fine,” he stated on the air. “Today, you are you.” This is not the first time the radio host had kind words for Drizzy. Despite labeling him the loser of the Kendrick Lamar battle, Charlamagne though Drake did a great job. “This, to me, has been the best rap battle I’ve ever witnessed,” he said back in May. “I mean, the two best of their generation, in their prime. I’ve never seen a rap battle give us this much music.” Time will tell if the rollout prediction proves true.

Charlamagne And DJ Envy Question “The Breakfast Club” Hosting Situation

In the ever-evolving world of radio, change is the only constant. The Breakfast Club recently found itself in uncharted waters after the departure of their former co-host, Angela Yee. The quest for a new addition to the Breakfast Club family has become the center of attention. Sparking confusion and speculation. On January 10, during a segment of their ‘Rumor Report’ uploaded on YouTube, Charlamagne took the mic to express his confusion. “You know what I’m so confused by? We spent all last year rotating guest co-hosts, and I thought we were rotating guest co-hosts before we let God decide who’s supposed to be in here,” he pondered. The ambiguity surrounding the co-host search seemed to weigh heavily on his mind.

Charlamagne raised a compelling question for the Breakfast Club faithful in 2024. Is it time to throw in the towel on the idea of a new co-host altogether? The humor-laced banter between Charlamagne and Envy hinted at the challenges they face when left to converse solely with each other. “We can’t take it,” they joked, emphasizing the void left by Angela Yee’s absence. DJ Envy chimed in, shedding light on the initial expectations for the co-host search. “It was only supposed to be a couple of months,” he asserted.

However, Charlamagne quickly disputed the timeframe, stating, “No, it was never supposed to be a couple of months. Angela Yee, I’ve always said, is irreplaceable.” The complexity of finding someone to seamlessly fit into the dynamic trio became evident, with Charlamagne emphasizing that the new co-host, if any, wouldn’t be a mere replacement. “I just don’t know what the hell’s going on. I’m not even joking with y’all,” Charlamagne confessed, unveiling the genuine perplexity surrounding the situation. The search for a new co-host had taken an unexpected turn, leaving both hosts grappling with uncertainty.

Moreover, The Breakfast Club’s journey took an interesting twist in December 2023 when comedian Jess Hilarious announced herself as the show’s new official co-host. As the Breakfast Club navigates this uncharted terrain, the airwaves buzz with anticipation and speculation. Will the show remain a dynamic duo, or will a new voice join them? Charlamagne and Envy’s candid confusion has left fans eagerly awaiting the next chapter in the Breakfast Club saga. Only time will tell who will step into the coveted third co-host spot, and in the world of radio, surprises are always on the horizon.

Busta Rhymes Wants A Truce With Charlamagne Tha God

In a surprising turn of events, Busta Rhymes made a pitstop at The Breakfast Club for an appearance on the iconic hip-hop morning show. He came ready to call a truce with none other than Charlamagne Tha God. While DJ Envy took the reins in moderating the conversation, Charlamagne was MIA, reportedly grounded due to a missed flight. “Charlamagne, you gon’ make this up to me, now,” Busta said during the interview. He was clearly disappointed at the missed opportunity for an on-air truce. “I’ve waited a long time to sit up here with Charlamagne. I love Charlamagne, but I needed to sit down with him up here.”

Undeterred by the absence of his co-host, Busta Rhymes emphasized the completion of the moment. He asserted that the beauty of the encounter transcended Charlamagne’s physical presence. “It should’ve been complete, but y’know the beautiful thing is it is complete, even without Charlamagne,” Busta reflected.

He extended a message directly to Charlamagne, a challenge and an olive branch. “You gon’ pull your a** up, Charlamagne, and we gon’ get into this building session. I’ma make sure that we are both available when you get back so we can do our building session, Charlamagne…and you travel back safely, king.” In a similar sentiment, as HNHH previously reported, Charlamagne Tha God also expressed remorse over disparaging remarks he made a decade ago. He acknowledged the regrettable comments that ignited a feud with Busta Rhymes. This signals a potential shift in their dynamic, hinting at the possibility of reconciliation and a more mature understanding between these two titans of hip-hop.

This unexpected visit left fans eagerly anticipating the much-anticipated dialogue between Busta Rhymes and Charlamagne Tha God. Angela Yee Addresses “The Breakfast Club” Comments On Her Radio Show

Angela Yee recently addressed comments she made about The Breakfast Club on her radio show Way Up. While she already responded to the backlash on Twitter, she further elaborated about them on air. Moreover, she said that she didn’t expect so many to come down her throat, as she didn’t mean to insinuate that no other women worked on the larger show. Instead, she was making a point on how she’s the only woman host on air. In fact, she said she’s made similar comments about not being able to talk to men for hours after they wrap up, but this one particularly got people fired up.

“Never blew up like this before, I guess?” she explained, adding on to her previous response. “Maybe it was the way that I said it, I’m not sure. I guess people were interpreting it to mean that I meant that there were no women working on the show, and that was not my intention. ‘Cause that’s simply not true. I was talking about in that studio, in that room. Even Sydney will tell you I’d walk out that room and be like, ‘I can’t be in here for now.’

Angela Yee Speaks Further On The Breakfast Club Comments On Her Radio Show

“And I would even say when I leave the show, I don’t even wanna talk to any guys,” Yee continued. “That’s why I had Lip Service with all women, because I was like ‘Ugh, I can’t talk to any guys for, like, two hours.’ I feel like I’ve said that on many interviews, but somehow this turned into a lot more. I was definitely surprised.” Furthermore, her surprise came at the immediate clapback from people online, such as former Breakfast Club co-host DJ Envy.

“I mean, it was her, Charlamagne and myself, so she was the only woman on air,” Envy stated. “But behind the scenes, it was so many different- I mean, our boss, the actual person that pays our bills and pays our checks and hires us is Thea Mitchem who’s a woman. I think she misspoke, I think the words were taken out of I guess technicality. I’m sure she would clean it up, but there’s a lot of women who work on that show.” Regardless of your take, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest on Angela Yee.

Angela Yee Says That She Felt More Criticized Than Charlamagne Tha God While On The Breakfast Club

Angela Yee Speaks on Relationship With Charlamagne Tha God Following Gucci Mane Interview

Angela Yee departed from The Breakfast Club last year after 12 years on the legendary radio morning show. She recently opened up about her experience on the show and revealed that she felt more heavily criticized than DJ Envy and Charlamagne Tha God, who both are no stranger to controversy.

Yee talked about her departure from the show and being heavily criticized while being interviewed on The Tamron Hall Show. She said that her contract was up in December of last year and was trying to decide whether to stay or go somewhere else. Obviously, she picked the latter.

“My contract had been up in December, and so I was already trying to figure out, ‘Am I staying here? Am I going somewhere else?’ And I just wanted to keep all of my options open,” Yee stated. “I never want to feel like I’m stuck somewhere.”

She went on to say how at times she felt as if she was more highly scrutinized than her male counterparts on the show, particularly Charlamagne Tha God, who is known for his controversial takes and behavior.

“Sometimes I would feel like I got it harder than [Charlamagne Tha God] did for some things that he said. And so I also want to make it clear that we’re all three individuals. You say what you say, feel how you feel, and I do too. But it’s hard because people affiliate you with the whole group.”

She added: “That was part of why I really wanted to have my own show because now what happens, I’m accountable for that. But when you have three different people with three different opinions or three different viewpoints and completely different personalities – we’re all individuals but sometimes it’s hard for people to separate that.”
