Ryan Garcia Charged With Vandalism After Ruining Luxury Hotel Room

Star professional boxer Ryan Garcia received a misdemeanor vandalism charge stemming from his alleged meltdown at the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills. Garcia was first accused of the crime on June 8, after authorities claimed he snapped and wrecked a room and a hallway at the luxury Los Angeles area hotel. It is another instance to add to the pugilist’s year of making a regrettable choice and feeling the consequences.

L.A. County District Attorney George Gascón announced formal charges against Garcia on Thursday morning. One count of vandalism $400 or more in damage or destruction of property. If convicted, he faces up to a year in prison. He will appear before a judge on August 7. “While we are grateful no injuries were reported in this incident, reckless behavior that damages property shows a blatant and unacceptable disregard for the safety and peace of our community,” Gascón said in a public statement. “Our office will work to ensure the responsible individual is held accountable.”

This vandalism charge is the latest issue Ryan Garcia finds himself on the receiving end of. Garcia fought Devin Haney in April. The fight was originally for the WBC super lightweight championship. Unfortunately for Garcia, he was 3.2 pounds over the weight limit at the weigh-in. Garcia and Haney agreed to a wager that would cost the offending party $500 thousand per missed pound. That decision cost Garcia $1.5 million. Additionally, Garcia forfeited nearly $600 thousand of his purse and was ineligible to win the title. After Garcia defeated Haney, a positive drug test meant that the result did not matter. The New York State Athletic Commission declared the fight a no contest.

Garcia’s year only got worse when the NYSAC suspended him for a year for his usage of performance-enhancing drugs. Then, the WBC expelled him for using racist language. And now, he finds himself looking down the barrel of a jail stint. Garcia has been candid in discussing his mental health issues, but has reportedly declined any attempts to help him. An entirely avoidable situation for one of boxing’s former bright young stars.

Conor McGregor Takes Shots At Jake Paul, Calls Him A “Dweeb”

Conor McGregor did not leave how he feels about Jake Paul up to interpretation. Ahead of Paul’s next boxing bout against mixed martial artist and bare knuckle boxer Mike Perry, McGregor put his stake in the ground. At a press conference in Spain, McGregor called Paul a “dweeb” of a thing, praising Perry for his career with Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship.

“Look at what has happened to Michael Perry, one of our big stars here,” McGregor said. “He’s had such a rise in the sport. Now he’s up against a little dweeb of a thing in a fight this weekend. And we’re all rooting for him.” Perry has grown into a star for BKFC, winning the “King of Violence” Championship against former UFC Lightweight Champion Eddie Alvarez. It’s a symbolic, bragging rights title in the same way that the BMF Championship is for the UFC.

Conor McGregor was supposed to return to MMA at UFC 303 in a fight against Michael Chandler, who he coached against in the latest season of The Ultimate Fighter. However, McGregor pulled out of the fight because of an injury. The UFC has yet to announce a new date. McGregor’s last fight ended quickly, when he broke his ankle in the first round of a clash with Donald Cerrone. McGregor’s trash talk is famous, and “dweeb” is remarkably low on the list of insults he’s hurled towards his peers.

Mike Perry replaced Mike Tyson, Jake Paul’s original opponent, for this weekend. Tyson pulled out of the fight out of suffering an injury in training. Paul and Tyson rescheduled the fight for November, which will be the first live sporting event to air on Netflix. Fans have been critical of Paul’s boxing career, calling out the fact that many of his opponents are non-boxers. Paul’s only loss in professional boxing was against Tommy Fury, the younger brother of Tyson Fury. Even in his late 50s, the legendary Iron Mike would have been a challenging opponent. Fans will have to wait a few months for that fight to take place. For now, Perry will aim to give Paul his second loss on Saturday night.

If you pay attention to the boxing world, you know that the young and speedy fighter has been trading words with the It Is What It Is panel. This heated debate’s origins trace back to last weekend after the still undefeated lightweight boxer defended his title against the underdog, Artem Harutyunyan. Stevenson went on to win by judge’s decision after showing off his incredible defense and tactical approach. However, a lot of viewers of the violent sport are not too keen on his style, including Ma$e and Cam’ron.

Ma$e started things after saying that he does not want to see Stevenson fight anyone ever again during the segment on their show. It got around to the WBC athlete, and that kicked off the beef. It seems like Ryan Garcia wasn’t a big fan of The Death Of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce), because he just went on a wild Twitter rant against Eminem on Sunday (July 14). “Eminem is a satanist,” he posted on his account after cosigning Candace Owens’ takedown of the Detroit rapper for dissing her. “It’s not even debatable. I always thought he was overrated but hey that’s just my opinion. Wait Eminem is a homo? Eminem=Gay. For the record I don’t care if Eminem is Gay. Nor do I care if he was straight. Just keep that devil shit he’s doing in his music videos away from kids.”

Then, Ryan Garcia posted a picture of Eminem dressed as Britney Spears for the “Real Slim Shady” music video with the caption “Feminem.” “You can’t pay enough me to wear a dress and heels,” he added afterwards. “If I ever do, just remember I didn’t want to do it. I’d go down fighting before I start doing all that.” The boxer reacted to some outlandish Slim Shady lyrics and complained about his belief that people let Em slide for his stuff, but that they then trash Garcia whenever he has a controversial take.

Shakur Stevenson Intensifies Cam’ron Beef By Threatening To Drop A Song

Shakur Stevenson and Cam’ron are combative personalities. The thing is, they usually keep their beef to their respective areas of expertise. Stevenson trash talks other boxers, while Cam’ron makes fun of other rappers on record. Their disdain for one another has resulted in a beef that’s crossed mediums, however. Cam’ron claimed that he would “slap fire” out of the boxer if he ever saw him, and Shakur Stevenson decided to return the favor by saying that he would drop a song on the rapper.

The claim was made via Twitter on July 9. In order to make sense of it, though, we have to go through the entire interaction between Shakur Stevenson, Cam’ron, and Cam’s podcast partner, Mase. The latter two dissed Stevenson on their podcast, It Is What It Is. They claimed that he was a bad fighter, which led to a Twitter exchange in which Stevenson claimed he was “ready for war.” Cam chimed in, noting how easy it was to offend the boxer. “I see why they call you Shakur Twitterson,” the rapper joked. “My n**ga, four hours of tweeting about me and Mase is wild. You boring, n**ga! I thought I was rather polite about it.”

Stevenson had more to say. He proceeded to lay into both rappers, and even make a crack about Mase’s relationship with Diddy. “Boys ain’t gone do sh*t bout it either,” he wrote. “[If] Cam’ron ever lift his hand up this way I’m putting him right out soft ass old n**ga. “Mase go get back on Diddy playing wit yo man hood f*ck boy.” It was the claim that followed that really caught the attention of fans, though. Stevenson decided that he was going to beat Cam and Mase at their own game. “I’m bout to get in the studio next week,” he tweeted. “I’m gone drop a Hit watch.”

To be clear, Shakur Stevenson has never released music. He tried to attack Mase from a musical standpoint, claiming the rapper had a “failed career.” This is where Cam was really able to lay into the boxer. “Mase was Michael Jackson after Michael Jackson, n**ga,” Cam’ron tweeted. “Before Drake. Over the last several months, boxing sensation Ryan Garcia continues to find himself in some sort of trouble. Whether it be inside or outside of the ring, pretty much all of it seems to be self-inflicted. His most recent actions got him tossed out of the WBC (World Boxing Council). He went on a racially-charged X tirade, all of which centered around the death of George Floyd, the Israel-Palestine debacle, in addition to slurs directed at multiple discriminated groups. Furthermore, he is currently out of boxing entirely for 12 months after two positive PED tests, one of which occurred after his now rescinded win over Devin Haney.

These are just the tip of the iceberg for Garcia and now he is in more controversy. According to The Shade Room, his ex-wife, Andrea Celina, is accusing him of ransacking their home in addition to some extreme verbal abuse/harassment. She shared multiple photos of the damages, as well as the supposed text messages and FaceTime calls from Garcia all through her Instagram Story.

As far as the photo evidence regarding the interior wreckage, it is clear that Garcia was enraged. Multiple items including a small trampoline, plants, children’s toys, and a stroller were strewn about the living room and kitchen. Garcia appears to be in view of the security camera while holding that trampoline. As for the messages, they are very derogatory and quite disturbing. Garcia calls her a wh*re, a b****, and even threatens to “f*** [her] up”. Then, there are additional texts between Andrea and her former partner in regard to seeing their two kids. She is supposedly over the out-of-nowhere visits and wants supervision while he is around. Garcia allegedly is not taking responsibility for his actions and supposed addictions that she outlines. Because of her new rules and it led him to repeatedly trying to FaceTime. He has yet to comment on any of this alleged evidence from Andrea.

At the end of the day, you can either hate the player or hate the game because it has worked swimmingly. Stevenson went onto defeat Harutyunyan by judge’s decision to keep his WBC lightweight belt.

One person who caught the action, was former rapper and co-host of It Is What It Is, Ma$e. Like many boxing watchers, the New York/Florida native is also not too impressed with Stevenson and the way he won. “I was trolling I want all the killing to stop,” Ryan Garcia expressed on social media as an apology after his remarks. “I love everyone sorry if I offended you.” This is a pretty rough year so far for him, as the New York State Athletic Commission banned him from boxing for a year due to testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs for his recent fight with Devin Haney.
