Kendrick Lamar found himself in the middle of a vicious battle with Drake just a few weeks ago. Overall, most fans have him as the winner of the feud. While “Meet The Grahams” was probably enough to win the battle, Kendrick ended up dropping a nuke with “Not Like Us.” It is a West Coast banger filled with scathing bars and some truly hilarious one-liners. It originally debuted at number one on the Billboard charts. However, it was dethroned in its second week by Post Malone and Morgan Wallen who teamed up on the song “I Had Some Help.”
During its second week, “Not Like Us” was simply number two on the charts. While many songs from the beef fell off hard on the charts, “Not Like Us” proved to be a true mainstay. Well, according to Billboard, Kendrick Lamar is staying atop the charts for a third straight week. Wallen and Malone are still at number one, although Kendrick is currently second for a second week in a row. This is a massive accomplishment for a diss record. If anything, it shows the record has legs beyond just a battle and that at the end of the day, it’s a versatile piece of music.
Kendrick has had a dominant start to the year. He has three platinum songs already, and fans are currently begging for an album. In fact, there is a sense that he could be dropping in the summer, although that is simply a rumor. Whatever the case may be, Lamar has proven that fans want to hear bars right now. Hopefully, we get some new music from Kenny sooner rather than later.
Let us know what you think about this chart position for Kendrick Lamar, in the comments section down below. Do you believe that he will get to be number one again sometime soon? Why do you think the Post Malone and Morgan Wallen is so popular right now? Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. J. Cole had everyone hip-hop fan’s phone blowing up when he dropped a new project out of nowhere. Might Delete Lateris now the German-born MC’s first solo tape since The Off-Season and is essentially full of B-sides and leftovers from the vlog series of the same name. Outside of it being a new release from J. Cole it had the community in a stranglehold because of the diss response to Kendrick Lamar called “7 Minute Drill.” While it was heavily discussed, the consensus seems to be that it felt to be a bit of a stretch and the disses were a little flimsy. Regardless, “7 Minute Drill” still did well for itself because it just peaked pretty high on the Billboard Hot 100.
According to Uproxx, Billboard announced the updated top 10 songs on the Hot 100 chart and the track is poised for a number six debut. This is extremely impressive considering our previous points, but also because Cole just removed the song off streaming a few days ago. Fans have been roasting the peaceful rapper for being just that. But if he did not feel comfortable in releasing it to begin with, you have to commend him for sticking to what he believes in and not buying into what the fans wanted.
In terms of other noteworthy tracks on this updated list, “Like That,” the song which started all of this trading of shots, has now gone number one for three consecutive weeks. “Type S***” by Metro Boomin, Future, Travis Scott, and Playboi Carti is also holding its own in the ninth slot. Furthermore, Beyonce and Jack Harlow are still going strong with their overnight hits “TEXAS HOLD ‘EM” and “Lovin On Me,” respectively. The only question going forward is, how does Cole feel about deleting the song now?
What are your thoughts on J. Cole debuting at number six with “7 Minute Drill” on the Billboard Hot 100 chart? Is this the best song still off of Might Delete Later, why or why not? Or do these stats not help how inauthentic it was for Cole to make this song? Did he make the right decision deleting the song off the project? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding J. Cole and “7 Minute Drill.” Finally, stay with us for everything else going on around the music world.
Kanye West is on a nice run right now thanks to Vultures 1. His collaborative album with Ty Dolla Sign continues to be a fan favorite, and many are excited to hear the follow-up. However, the first Vultures is doing some impressive numbers right now. Overall, “Carnival” with Rich The Kid and Playboi Cartijust hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100. This is a massive accomplishment, and it is yet another huge milestone for Ye in his career. That said, the achievement led to a pretty lengthy rant on Instagram.
While the rant itself has been deleted, the IG post it was attached to can still be found on his account. In this rant, he went after The Daily Mail, Adidas, and even Drake. “That’s how I feel And it’s fuck Drake for taking Durk right at the beginning of the Vultures role out I’ll come back to yall if I think of more fuck you’s,” Kanye West wrote. The Drizzy section was at the end of the rant. However, leading up to that, Ye unleashed the clip on the industry. He took the opportunity to go after anyone he has had a gripe with.
“Rich Ty Carti and the supporters that stood by us through everything This number #1 is for you. It’s for the people who won’t be manipulated by the system,” Ye wrote. “And fuck adidas and everybody who works there or with them. Anyone who goes to school with anyone who’s parents work at adidas. Just know they tried to destroy me and here we are with the number 1 song in the world. “Like the fake dude I saw in the lobby at the Ritz that works at Goat You pussys don’t stand for shit. And fuck everybody at the Dailey Mail. And Fuck everybody at the fashion houses that sided with Gabby and Hailey Bieber Fuck each and every single one of yall And fuck every so called Christian and so called friend or so called family member that watched me have my kids taken out of my control.”

Beyoncé continues to reign supreme in the music industry, effortlessly adding more feathers to her already illustrious cap. Her latest triumph comes with “Texas Hold ‘Em” soaring to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart merely two weeks post-release. Moreover, the Queen Bey’s domination doesn’t stop there, as she recently celebrated two more remarkable career milestones. Chart Data, the authority on all things chart-related, disclosed that as of Friday (March 1), Beyoncé has etched her name in history by clinching the record for the most unique chart airplay appearances among female artists. This milestone catapults her above the previous record holder, the iconic Mariah Carey.
This feat underscores Beyoncé’s unparalleled versatility and widespread appeal, with her songs gracing a staggering 18 different airplay charts. While some may expect her to dominate charts like Adult Contemporary, Adult Pop Airplay, and R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay, her influence extends even further, reaching unexpected territories like Country Airplay, Latin Airplay, and even Smooth Jazz Airplay.
Moreover, Beyoncé shows no signs of slowing down on the streaming front either. Chart Data confirms that “Texas Hold ‘Em” has officially crossed the monumental threshold of 100 million streams on Spotify. What’s even more impressive is that this achievement makes it Beyoncé’s fastest song to hit this milestone, further solidifying her status as an unstoppable force in the music world. Even Dolly Parton had to give her congratulations!
With each milestone she conquers, Beyoncé continues to redefine the boundaries of success and influence in the music industry. Her unparalleled talent, unwavering work ethic, and ability to connect with audiences across genres cement her as not just a musical icon, but a cultural phenomenon. As she continues to push boundaries and break records, one thing remains certain: Beyoncé’s reign knows no bounds. Are you looking forward to more country music from the Queen Bey?
Kanye West shocked the world a couple of weeks ago when he dropped “TALKING” on Instagram, then eventually on YouTube and streaming. It is one of the more touching moments on VULTURES1, a record that does not have many of them. One of the reasons why is due to the charismatic and cute performance by Ye’s oldest daughter North West. It was the second and final track to be released ahead of the album and it is one of the strongest cuts in our opinion. Now, after a week of Ye and Ty Dolla $ign’s effort being out, charting placements are now here. Mommy and daddy have to be proud of North West as she becomes one of the youngest to chart on Billboard.
This news follows a couple of days after the album went number one on the Billboard Hot 200. Both headlining acts reacted in ho-hum fashion to finding out as if they expected it to happen. To get the spot it did, VULTURES 1 sold nearly 150,000 copies. It marked Ye’s 11th number one debut and became Ty’s first.
Someone who reacted with a little more excitement was North West’s momma, Kim Kardashian. The entrepreneur and businesswoman reposted Chart Data‘s tweet about North’s accomplishment on her Instagram Story. “My baby! ” she wrote. Congratulations to North West and Kanye for giving her this platform.
What are your thoughts on North West charting on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with “TALKING?” Is this one of the best tracks on VULTURES 1, why or why not? What do you think about Kim Kardashian’s reaction to her daughter’s accomplishment? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding Kanye West, North West, Kim Kardashian, and VULTURES. They were fresh from a hiatus from the chart-topping original “boy band” New Edition. At the suggestion of producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, members Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins, and Ronnie Devoe formed Bell Biv Devoe aka BBD. The group released their debut album Poison in 1990. And although four hits emerged from the album, one song in particular mesmerized and built a fan base that started to prefer a harder sound, due to the mainstreaming of Hip Hop.
“Poison” was credited as pioneering the “new jack swing” era, combining hip-hop, funk, soul, and pop music. The album reached No.1 on Billboard‘s R&B/Hip-Hop chart. And the title song reached No. 3 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart, where it stayed for four weeks. It was certified 4x platinum by the RIAA on April 28, 1995. The music video boasts 16 million views on YouTube and of course, BBD has performed the song all over the world.
“Poison” peaked at No.1 on the Hot Black Singles (now known as Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs) chart for two weeks. The song became one of the most successful singles of 1990 and was a staple on MTV and mainstream radio that summer, spending ten weeks in the Top 10. In addition, “Poison” had overseas success, going platinum in Canada. It also reached silver certification in the U.K. and hit the Dutch Top 40 in The Netherlands.
Poison: An R&B Classic
“Poison” was written by American writer/ producer Dr. Freeze, who initially had doubts about the now classic lyrics, which started as a letter to an ex-girlfriend. However, the guys went wild when they heard it and knew it would be a hit. Bell Biv Devoe’s second single “Do Me!” also peaked at No.3 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart and No.8 in New Zealand while also charting in Australia, Canada, and the U.K. The third single “I Thought It Was Me” spent one week at No.1 on the U.S. R&B chart, and peaked at No.26 on the Billboard Hot 100 pop chart. “When Will I See You Smile Again,” the fourth single and one of only two ballads on the album, reached No.3 on the American R&B charts.
The sound of the single, “Poison,” was quite unlike anything in New Edition’s adolescent pop-R&B tracklist. The beat was funky and the lyrics were sexually potent. The song undoubtedly started a trend. Fans were learning the signature dance moves from the“Poison” video and starting to dress like the group in overalls with one strap down. But no one anticipated the critical shift in the evolution of R&B that the single fueled. The arrangements of their songs broke the rules by pairing rapping and singing together, making rap-free radio edits difficult to achieve. Bell Biv Devoe had now helped usher hip-hop into mainstream radio rotation.
Jack Harlow has had a big 2023 already, but it looks like he is not slowing down anytime soon. Back in the early stages of the year, the Louisville, Kentucky rapper dropped his more lyrically-focused record, Jackman. It was an all-killer and no-filler type of album. With just 10 songs at around 24 minutes and change, Harlow was spitting about some personal battles, white men in the rap game, and more. LPs like that do not really do well numbers-wise and that was the case for him too. However, he seems to be going back to what he does best.
That is to make catchy singles that slowly work their way into your head. His latest crack at this formula is “Lovin On Me.” It draws heavy inspiration from one of Jack’s biggest idols, Drake. He nabs the melody from “The Motto,” and adds a little element of what makes him who is. The track is doing serious numbers right now, with over 65.5 million streams on Spotify already. After being out for two weeks, it takes over the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, according to Uproxx.
This now gives the 25-year-old his third consecutive number-one hit. The tracks to do this before it are “First Class” and “Industry Baby” with Lil Nas X. In another new development amongst the top 10, we have up-and-comer, Tyla, with her summer-ready groove, “Water.” This dropped back in July, but it has just reached the upper echelon of bops. It slips and slides right into the tenth spot. Tyla’s first bonafide breakthrough track is just over 200 million plays. Additionally, she just released some new versions with Travis Scott and Marshmello.
What are your initial thoughts on Jack Harlow going number one with “Lovin On Me” and Tyla making the top 10 with “Water?” Which song do you feel is better? Are these two tracks the best hit songs of 2023? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your hottest takes in the comments section below. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest breaking news around Jack Harlow and Tyla. Furthermore, stay with us for everything else going on around the music world.
Brandy’s status as an R&B icon is unquestionable. The singer, songwriter, and actress have had a prolific career, releasing timeless classics over the course of seven studio albums. Nearly 30 years since she released her debut album back in 1994, the Vocal Bible is still actively releasing music with a brand new Christmas album dropping this month. Known for her impeccable vocal range and intricate overdubbing that continues to shine on records like Ty Dolla $ign’s “No Tomorrow Pt. 2,” Brandy has her fair share of hit songs including seven that cracked the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100. As we anticipate Christmas With Brandy, here are her biggest top 10 hits. Take a look at the list below.
The album version of “Brokenhearted” from Brandy’s 1994 self-titled debut album was originally a solo track. However, the single version was reimagined as a duet alongside Wanya Morris of Boyz II Men. The reworked edition of “Brokenhearted” was the fourth and final single from Brandy’s debut album and became one of her biggest hits. The ballad reached #9 on the Billboard Hot 100, joining her debut album’s first few singles to chart within the top 10.
6. “What About Us?” (2002)
Brandy’s 2002 album, Full Moon saw her dive into the pop realm. It drew inspiration from electronic dance music genres like UK garage and electro. The album’s lead single, “What About Us?” is a Rodney Jerkins-produced electro-funk track, over which Brandy smoothly expresses her frustrations over a former lover. The song’s clunky instrumentation exemplified the deviation in sound from her first two albums. While “What About Us?” was met with mixed reception at the time of its release, it still performed successfully on the charts, landing a spot at #7 on the Hot 100. It is also her most recent single to crack the top 10.
Brandy’s debut single is a bonafide classic. “I Wanna Be Down” embodies the pairing of R&B and hip-hop that defined the music of the 1990s. The lighthearted and flirtatious content of the song was fitting for Brandy, who was only 15 years old at the time of the album’s release. While her subject matter eventually matured, “I Wanna Be Down” is a definitive song in Brandy’s catalog. It has been sampled numerous times in hip-hop, dance, and pop music. Brandy’s debut single performed quite well on the charts, landing the No. 6 spot and marking her very first top 10 hit.
4. “Baby” (1994)
Brandy’s second single from her debut album performed even better than “I Wanna Be Down.” Charting at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100, “Baby” captivated audiences through its hip-hop drum break, soulful melodies, and catchy chorus. Much like “I Wanna Be Down,” it became a ’90s R&B classic over time. In addition to its position at #4, “Baby” also spent four weeks atop the Hot R&B singles chart.
“Sittin’ Up in My Room” supported the 1995 movie, Waiting to Exhale, starring Whitney Houston and Angela Bassett. The Babyface-produced instrumental utilizes a slapping bassline and upbeat grooves to perfectly complement Brandy’s vocals. It peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was her biggest track until the release of her second album.
2. “Have You Ever?” (1998)
Brandy’s 1998 album, Never Say Never contains both of Brandy’s biggest top 10 hits. “Have You Ever?” is a soft R&B and pop ballad with luscious instrumentation. In the lyrics, she pleads her love to someone who does not reciprocate, framing the emotion in the form of a series of questions. “Have You Ever?” was the second single from Never Say Never to top the Billboard charts. The song’s only rival is another massive track from Brandy’s second album.
“The Boy Is Mine” is undoubtedly Brandy’s biggest track. A duet with Monica, the song marked the first No. 1 hit for both singers. It was the lead single for both Never Say Never and Monica’s second album, The Boy Is Mine. In the song, the two fight over a man, emulating Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney’s duet off of Thriller, “The Girl Is Mine.” While the song saw Brandy and Monica playfully fight each other over a shared love interest, it sparked a rumored rivalry between them that has since been squashed. “The Boy Is Mine” remains an important song for both the careers of Brandy and Monica. In addition to being her first No. 1 hit, it was Brandy’s fifth top 10 entry and is still her biggest track to date.
Drake has achieved a remarkable milestone in his career by matching the legendary Michael Jackson as the male solo artist with the most No. 1 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. This historic accomplishment was solidified with his collaboration with J. Cole, titled “First Person Shooter,” a track that soared to the top of the charts. This song also marks J. Cole’s first number one. The Canadian rapper’s impressive feat of securing 13 No. 1 songs in the Hot 100 is a record that had remained untouched since Michael Jackson accomplished the same in 1995 with his hit “You Are Not Alone.” To celebrate, Drake posted a photo of Michael Jackson on his Instagram today with the caption, “Moooood” followed by “@realcoleword.” However, it wasn’t just an ordinary pic of Michael. It was a meme of him sporting an OVO hoodie.
The success of Drake’s latest album, For All the Dogs has played a significant role in securing his position in the charts. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart. Additionally, as HNHH previously reported, For all The Dogs sold a whopping 411k units. This marks Drake’s biggest debut since 2021’s Certified Lover Boy. Moreover, the album achieved one of the most substantial debut days for a hip-hop release in the current year on Spotify, accumulating approximately 108.7 million streams.
The significance of Drake posting the iconic Michael Jackson is because now the two are tied for the fourth-most No. 1 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The esteemed record for the most No. 1 songs still belongs to The Beatles, with an impressive 20 chart-topping hits, according to Billboard. They are followed closely by Mariah Carey, who claims the second position with 19, and Rihanna with a total of 14 No. 1 songs. The album, though has been met with mixed reviews, featured a star-studded lineup of guest appearances. Some of the features 21 Savage, Sexyy Red, Yeat, Bad Bunny, and more.
As Drake continues to redefine the boundaries of his musical journey and build upon his legacy, he has undoubtedly carved his name into the walls of music history. Now, he stands alongside the iconic figures who have left an indelible mark on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. People such as Michael Jackson. His unprecedented chart-topping success is a testament to his enduring talent and unwavering influence in the world of music.
At this point in his career, there’s not much that Drake feels he has to prove. The father of one is impressing us with his album run since unleashing Certified Lover Boy in 2021. After that came Honestly, Nevermind and Her Loss in 2022. Heading out on tour to perform hits from all of those was an ambitious feat, but Drizzy delivered on his It’s All a Blur adventure with 21 Sav back in the summer, all while working on his latest LP, For All The Dogs.
That project arrived just in time for Drake’s hometown shows in Toronto, where he brought out guests like Sexyy Red and Lil Baby. Thanks to 21 Sav finally getting a green card, he was able to perform in the 6ix on the tour’s final night, which is also when J. Cole came out to join his friend for “First Person Shooter.” Some have suggested that the Dreamville head “cooked” Champagne Papi on his own track, but nevertheless, both men had a blast spitting their well-crafted verses.
Drake and J. Cole’s For All The Dogs Collab Comes Out on Top
We’ve been eagerly waiting to see which of Drake’s newest arrivals would land atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart. On Monday (October 16) it was confirmed to be “First Person Shooter,” which officially marks Cole’s first-ever No. 1 song in his career to date. Besides that exciting news, it also means that the Scorpion hitmaker is now tied with Michael Jackson for the most chart-topping tracks from a solo male vocalist. Both the living and the deceased have amassed 13, and after his recently announced hiatus, it’s entirely possible that we’ll see the multi-talent overtake the King of Pop.
Tying Michael Jackson’s Billboard record is certainly an impressive feat for Drake, but still, that doesn’t mean the response to For All The Dogs has been totally positive. More specifically, the 36-year-old’s Spanish vocals on “Gently” featuring Bad Bunny left at least one TikToker’s mother less than pleased. See her reaction to the song at the link below, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.
