Big Sean, the GRAMMY®-nominated multi-platinum artist, has released the official video for his latest track, “Yes.” The visually captivating video follows the success of his recent singles, “Together Forever,” produced by The Alchemist, and “On Up,” dropped earlier this month.
If things check out, we should be receiving Big Sean’s brand-new album Better Me Than You on August 31. Of course, fans were supposed to have their hands on the tape back on August 9. However, thanks to the good old leaking community, Sean decided to make some minor adjustments beforehand. That’s we and a lot of other believe, however the Detroit MC pushed it back due to wanting to plan out concerts and such. That very well may be true, but with leaks ruining so many things from dropping on schedule or at all, we feel that’s what is going on here. Depending on how you look at it, Sean was able to drop another single this past weekend with The Alchemist.
Currently, we are up to four teaser tracks, which also include “Yes”, “Precision”, and “On Up”. Out of all the ones we have heard so far, we feel that Big Sean did his best work on “Yes”, which is single number two. So far, it seems this will be the album’s biggest banger. If that’s the case, we should be in for a solid album from Sean Don. The epic and dark instrumental suits his aggressive and “no f***s given” attitude on the track. His flows and deliveries are also engaging as he hits you with his familiar cool, calm, and collected voice. Additionally, he gets a little more animated and zanier to jolt some extra energy into his already thrilling performance. To give fans more to chew over, Sean teamed up with Lyrical Lemonade to deliver some equally gloomy visuals for “Yes”. They accentuate what the song sets out to be and we encourage you to check out the creative production below.
After the past few months of rollout for Big Sean’s new album, Better Me Than You, the video for his latest single, “Yes,” may come as a shocker. After all, he kicked things off on the wellness tip with “Clarity” and “Precision,” while his recent singles, “On Up” and “Together Forever” with The Alchemist have suggested a more soulful direction for Sean’s sixth studio album.
However, “Yes” finds him firmly in his gothic trap bag, in a similar vein to songs like “Blessings,” “Clique,” and “Mercy.” Over a haunting, thunderous instrumental, Sean reels off a string of defiant bars, anchored by the hook’s fiery mission statement: “When they tried to tell me, ‘No,’ I said, ‘No, motherf*cker, yes.’”
The Lyrical Lemonade-produced video is a suitably grungy affair, shot in murky greyscale with imagery including masked men raging around Sean, a dappered-up Sean taking over a chess match, and then swapping out his Sunday best for coveralls and paint splashing. It’s a little punk, a little polished gangster, and yet, it’s still very much in line with Sean’s past work, with Lyrical Lemonade’s signature flair for thrash aesthetics, which undoubtedly rubbed off on Sean when he teamed up with Eminem in the LL-produced videos for “Doomsday 2” and “Tobey.”

Better Me Than You has been delayed, but is coming soon via FF to Def Entertainment. Find more information here.
Big Sean has been one of the biggest leak victims this year, especially since it has affected the release of his upcoming album. Better Me Than You was slated to hit DSPs last Friday, August 9. Now, we should be receiving the new body work hopefully by the end of the month. If not then, we could also be looking at an early September date as well. The Detroit MC has been handling all of this very well given the circumstances, which you have to commend him for. He revealed he’s in the process of planning some shows immediately after the album drops, so he’s really trying to give fans a lot during this album rollout. In the meantime, though, Big Sean is tiding fans over with “Together Forever”, which brings the single total to four.
It seems that Sean Don is leaning into themes of family, relationships, self-confidence, and living a fulfilling life for this record. Overall, it seems like this project could be one of his best yet, because “Together Forever” is another W in our books. Here, Big Sean is reuniting with the mad scientist himself, The Alchemist. The acclaimed producer has worked with him once before on the Larry June-led cut, “Palisades, CA”. The West Coast native gives the Michigan technician a jazzy, soulful, and head-nodding boom-bap beat, which he floats on. Below, you can check out the song and its accompanying visuals. On top of this heater, Sean seems to tease another track from the album with a darker approach and it may feature some rapping from Uncle Al, so fingers crossed.
Woke up to a P-Y-T tellin’ me “Get up” Through all of the pressure, I’m keepin’ my chest up 2Pac, keep your head up, they aim for the neck up Plottin’ but f*** it, I’m set to go set up The b****es that settin’ me up for the sеt up Pushin’ the V and it’s not for Vendetta
GRAMMY®-nominated multiplatinum artist Big Sean has released his latest single and music video, “Together Forever,” in collaboration with The Alchemist. The track is part of his highly anticipated sixth studio album, “Better Me Than You,” set to drop under Def Jam Recordings.
“Together Forever” sees Big Sean reflecting on the pressures of daily life and the people who help him maintain his mental clarity. He starts the track with a candid admission, “I had to shake the little shit off,” highlighting the challenges he has faced and overcome. The song pays tribute to his inner circle, whose support has fueled his resilience, all set against a classic beat from The Alchemist.
The accompanying music video enhances the track’s introspective nature. It features Big Sean and The Alchemist and opens with a collage of clips that resemble a film reel, evoking the feel of a timeless movie’s opening sequence.
Big Sean first teased the track on social media, addressing the issue of his music leaking online. He posted, “I’m a just start droppin this new music before they leak it all.” The snippet quickly gained traction, with fans eagerly anticipating the full release. Now, with “Together Forever” available, listeners can fully appreciate the latest offering from Big Sean and The Alchemist.
Big Sean isn’t letting leaks or delays impact his forthcoming album’s promotion. Although the new release date for Better Me Than You hasn’t officially been announced, fans can sink their teeth into another track off the project.
Today (August 16), the “Precision” rapper dropped a new single off of the forthcoming body of work. On “Together Forever,” Big Sean forgoes his usual humble pie (as of late) to boast about how ambition has made him a household name.
In the track’s official video, his Better You Than Me partner-in-crime, The Alchemist, joins Big Sean to showcase that their chemistry far surpasses the recording booth.
“How does it get any better than this / Woke up to a PYT telling me to get up / Through all of the pressure I’m keeping my chest up / Tupac keep your head up, they aim for the next up / They plottin’ but f*ck it I’m set to go setup the b*tch that’s setting me up for the set up,” raps Big Sean.
The Alchemist’s fluid production and Big Sean’s even wavier bars make the wait for the project even harder to bear. But, it does build a confidence that it could very well be worth it in the end.

Does anyone else remember those 2000s mega-mixes of songs like “I’m So Hood” and “One Blood?” A popular rap song would get a remix that featured WAY too many guest stars, running the gamut from dancehall deejays to R&B court jesters like T-Pain. They were a sort of much more obnoxious version of rap supercrew posse cuts geared toward drawing in as many of the featured artists’ fans as possible to extend the life of a smash way beyond its normal expiration date.
Well, Gen Z finally has its version of this, courtesy of Cash Cobain and Laila! On “Problem,” the sample drill pioneer remixes the second-gen rapper‘s TikTok hit “Not My Problem” into a prime example of the form, adding in verses from a gaggle of game MCs ranging from blog rap vets 6lack and Big Sean to teen star Luh Tyler. Even mixtape staple Fabolous gets a look, while gender parity is provided by Atlanta rapper Anycia, Flo Milli, Kaliii, and Lay Bankz. New Yorker Kelz2busy, Don Q, and Kenzo B round out the Big Apple roster, while New Orleans rising star Rob49 completes the cipher. In the interest of keeping things short enough to appeal to the target demo, the verses are kept to bite size snippets, bringing in the whole thing at seven minutes — five shorter than “One Blood,” so there’s that, at least.
Cash Cobain has been dropping consistently since 2018. The rapper/producer has a much higher profile these days, however. Singles like “Fisherrr” and “Grippy” have blown up in 2024, thanks to collabs with the likes of Ice Spice and J Cole. Cobain’s upcoming album, PLAY CASH COBAIN, is consequently his most anticipated yet. Fans are excited to hear how the rapper/producer pushes his sound forward, but still maintain the fun, experimental vibe that must us fans in the first place. “Problem” is an interesting attempt to reckon with these two goals. The song is a staggering 7:40, making it the longest Cobain song by a mile.
There’s a reason for the length, though. Cash Cobain decided to bring a staggering 12 artists onto the song to make it stand out, and stand out it does. The glitchy, “problem” refrain sung by Laila! serves as the backdrop for a revolving door of guest verses. Big Sean shows up. FloMilli drops by. We also get bars from Don Q, Rob49, Fabolous, 6LACK, and Anycia. Not enough? Don’t worry, there’s more. The song has appearances from YN Jay, Luh Tyler, Kaliii, Lay Bankz, Chow Lee and Flee. We would need a dissertation to discuss everybody’s verses. That being said, Big Sean continues his string of strong features, and Flo brings lots of menace during her sixteen. It gets a little tiring as the song goes on, but such is the nature of posse cuts. Cash Cobain put together an unexpected treat for fans, and we appreciate it.

Cash Cobain Assembles An All-Star Roster On “Problem”
Quotable Lyrics:
My whole city totin’ straps, that sh*t a (Problem) You treat rumors like they facts (That’s not my problem) Hoe, stop wonderin’ where I’m at, that’s not your (Problem, What? What?) I done went broke and then bounced back, that’s not my (Problem)
Jordan Howlett, better known as Jordan The Stallion, is collecting musician collaborations like wild Pokémon. So far, the famed TikToker has created a fun clips with Method Man and Donald Glover, which all spawned hilarious nicknames including Grownish Gambino.
Today (August 9), Howlett added Big Sean to his growing cameo list. In the silly video, it is actually the “Precision” rapper that initiates the clip (which you can view here).
“So, the album didn’t drop tonight,” says Sean. “Maybe some days from now it will. But the last track [“On Up“] I did was about my son.”
“As a new dad, I realized that I don’t know that many recipes,” Sean said. “So, I guess my best bet is to ask Jordan. I guess I do that by zooming in and saying, come here.”
Jordan appeared and the sketch begins. But instead of flipping through Jordan’s handy dandy notebook of beloved recipes, Sean absorbs the vast world of culinary arts by shifting into a questionable fashion get-up. Oh, if only it was that easy in real life. But for the sake of Big Sean, Jhene Aiko, and baby Noah, it magically is.
Big Sean is entering a new era. The man who made “A$$” has become a family man. He’s not trying to hide it, either. The music video for his new single, “On Up,” is dedicated to his son, and sees the Detroit legend wax poetic on getting older. He’s wholesome now, so it shouldn’t really be a surprise that he linked up with the most wholesome artist in hip-hop history: Will Smith. Big Sean chopped it up with Smith on TikTok, with the latter providing some useful tips on how to navigate the music industry.
Big Sean posted the conversation on August 5. “@WillSmith dropping [gem emoji]’s,” he wrote in the caption. Sure enough, the former Fresh Prince made some good points. He urged the Detroit rapper to be mindful of change, and be willing to embrace it. If a person does’t embrace change, it’s going to be a difficult transition. “When you hit the edge of the material world and… you know, I call it cliff top,” Smith explained. “Cliff top is the opposing aspect of rock bottom. When somebody hits rock bottom and can go no lower, you need to get your sh*t together or you die.”
While the notion of falling off a cliff sounds frightening, Will Smith noted that it was also freeing. “Cliff top is either you find God,” the artist explained. “Or you die ’cause there’s nothing else here for you.” Smith’s words have additional resonance, given the setbacks his career was dealt after his infamous Oscars slap. He has fallen off the cliff he’s describing and managed to bounce back, to borrow a Big Sean phrase. It’s all seemingly in line with the path that Sean has been on as of late. The rapper has not only changed his approach to recording, but to art in general. His first book, Go Higher, is scheduled for release later in the year. It will focus on personal well being, according to the rapper’s press release.
Big Sean has also displayed a mature approach to rap beef. He assured fans he was cool with Kendrick Lamar and Kanye West, despite their past disagreements. He also told Charlamagne tha God that he’s more interested in raising a family than he is topping the charts. More recently, Big Sean tweeted out plans to promote a more family-friendly vibe at his concerts. “‘On Up’ gimme that cook out feel,” he wrote. “Local food vendors, merch, performance that the whole family can come to.”
