Beyoncé Asked Megan Thee Stallion To Rework Her ‘Savage Remix’ Verse, As Meg Hilariously Explained

Megan Thee Stallion is having a hard-earned moment, but for the rest of her life, it will be hard to top the full-circle moment of collaborating with her fellow Houstonian Beyoncé on 2020’s “Savage Remix,” a Grammy-winning track that hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Meg reflected on that milestone and her other “Hottest Career Moments,” an extension of her reign as the cover star of Elle‘s May issue:

“Beyoncé probably so tired of me saying her name,” Megan Thee Stallion said, giggling, about 70 seconds into the video. “We were in quarantine at this time. Beyoncé did the [‘Savage Remix’]. I didn’t believe she was actually gonna do it, but she did it, and my mind was blown. I called my granny. Me and my manager was in my living room, going crazy.”

She continued, “Beyoncé was like, ‘Could you please make your verse a little bit cleaner?’ I went in my living room, and I recorded it right then. Like, Beyoncé didn’t have to tell me twice! I sent that verse right back. But it was amazing. Everybody knows that I am obsessed with Beyoncé, so when I got the collab — like, being from Houston with her — I was just appreciative. When I saw people dancing to the song, vibing to it, loving it, how many famous people was dancing to the song, I was like, ‘Oh, my God, y’all know me.’”

Megan Thee Stallion’s “Savage (Remix)” Verse Was Made Less Explicit For Beyoncé, Hottie Says

Along with her ELLE Magazine cover shoot earlier this month, Megan Thee Stallion put together a thoughtful essay reflecting on her recovery after the Tory Lanez shooting. The Suga hitmaker made it abundantly clear that she no longer plans to address the situation in the press, and instead will be pouring her energy into healing in private. While that piece certainly caught the public’s attention, Meg also gave the outlet a more lighthearted interview, during which she spoke about past wins in her career, such as working with Beyoncé on the “Savage (Remix).”

“Beyoncé probably so tired of me saying her name,” the 28-year-old joked when reflecting on the making of their joint effort. “So, we were in quarantine at this time. [She] did the remix, I didn’t believe she was actually gonna do it, but she did it and my mind was blown,” Thee Stallion excitedly shared. “I called my granny, me and my manager was in my living room going crazy.” The moment was obviously major, but before the mother of three would sign off on the track’s release, she had a request for Megan.

Megan Thee Stallion Recalls Working with Bey

“[She asked me], ‘Could you please make your verse like a little bit cleaner?’ I went in my living room and I recorded it right then,” the multi-talent gushed to ELLE. “Beyoncé didn’t have to tell me twice, I sent that verse right back!” Thee Stallion went on to note that the entire experience was “amazing,” and that she’s always been “obsessed” with the RENAISSANCE vocalist. “When I got the collab, like being from Houston with her, I was just appreciative.”

On top of working with Beyoncé, Megan Thee Stallion also says that seeing the public’s reaction to the song, and how much celebrity support it got, was an incredible feeling. “When I saw people dancing to the song, vibing to it, loving it… I was like, ‘Oh my God, y’all know me!” she humbly admitted. Beyoncé, Jack Harlow, Taylor Swift, And Virtually Every Other Popular Musician No Longer Have A Verified Twitter Check

Today is 4/20, which means a number of things. It’s Killer Mike’s birthday. Snoop Dogg is in full celebration mode over the annual weed holiday. Earlier this month, Elon Musk promised that today would be the day that Twitter removed legacy verified blue check marks. Those are the ones public figures like celebrities, politicians, and journalists were given before Twitter switched to its current model of paying for blue checks. Well, Musk has delivered on his promise.

The check marks used to make it immediately clear if an account belonged to a notable person, but now that is no longer the case. Look on the official Twitter accounts of Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, and Jack Harlow, and you’ll notice that all three no longer have the blue checks they had yesterday. In fact, that should be true of pretty much any previously verified musician and notable figure you can think of (unless they’re paying Twitter Blue subscribers). Yes, even Pope Francis.

This wasn’t any sort of surprise. Aside from the aforementioned warning, Twitter tweeted yesterday, “Tomorrow, 4/20, we are removing legacy verified checkmarks. To remain verified on Twitter, individuals can sign up for Twitter Blue here: twitter.com/i/twitter_blue_sign_up.” Musk also replied to the tweet, “Tomorrow is shaping up to be quite the day!”

Megan Thee Stallion’s Twerk Trap Has Her Cheeks Clapping To Beyoncé In A Sexy Sparkling Dress

Megan Thee Stallion teased us earlier this weekend with some bedroom thirst traps that saw her welcoming fans to her “hottie club.” While many are still recovering from those spicy snaps, the Houston native is keeping her foot on our necks with more salacious content, this one falling under the twerk trap category. On Monday (April 17), she hopped on TikTok to tease some of her body’s best assets in a sexy sparkling dress, which was just sheer enough to show the outline of her bodacious behind as she shook it along to Beyoncé’s “CUFF IT (WETTER REMIX).”

In the caption, all the 28-year-old included was a honey emoji, seemingly referring to her sticky sweet moves. Aside from flattering her bottom half, Thee Stallion’s outfit of the night also showed off plenty of underboob, as well as her toned midsection, which she’s been frequently flaunting since making a comeback to the spotlight last month. She continues to wear her hair in a larger-than-life afro, though instead of the shiny black curls she initially showed us, she’s since switched things up in favour of a lighter brown look, which is equally flattering on the versatile fashionista.

Megan Thee Stallion Makes Her Booty Bounce

While her TikTok post is already blowing up, Megan also shared the clip on Instagram, where the comment section has been flooding with thirsty responses. “I mean, look at the material✨,” BET’s official account wrote. “Megan please,” someone else pleaded. “My man is somewhere on this internet.” Another user chimed in with, “Make that thing clap ma’am 😍😍😍🔥🔥🔥🔥,” as they obviously lusted over the “WAP” hitmaker and her famous knees.

When she’s not making us drool with her sultry social media antics, the multi-talent has been busy making plenty of public appearances, as well as preparing for her upcoming concerts. She gave her first performance of the year at the end of March and has since been announced as a headliner at various upcoming festivals with the likes of Mariah Carey and Lauryn Hill. After an undeniably bumpy 2022, it looks like Megan Thee Stallion is ready to come out on top in 2023. Are you excited? Let us know in the comments, and check back later for more pop culture news.

Chlöe Reflected On Touring With Beyoncé Back In 2016 For The ‘Formation World Tour’

Chlöe may have asked her estranged lover “How Does It Feel” to lose out on her love in the single. But actress and television host Drew Barrymore is turning the question back on her regarding a very special lady in her life. While out promoting her debut solo album, In Pieces, the singer stopped by Barrymore’s namesake talk show.

With the “Body Do” singer currently on tour, Barrymore wanted to take a trip down memory lane when Chlöe and her sister, Halle Bailey, were featured as guest openers for their mentor Beyoncé’s Euporean leg of the Formation World Tour in 2016.

“Oh my God! I’m so excited,” declared the host as she held hands with the singer. Barrymore went on to talk about first becoming a fan of Chlöe which included the tour appearance. “What was that like,” the host asked.

To that, Chlöe replied, “It was really exciting! And all those people [in the audience]. I was like, ‘We get to perform in front of all those people that came here to see Beyoncé?’ That was pretty cool!”

Later on in the interview, Chlöe acknowledged that despite all that she’s accomplished professionally, at times, she is still harsh on herself. When asked what she does to shake out of those moments, she replied, “So I’ll cry it out first. I’m gonna be honest. I call my God mom, and I call Halle and my siblings and just cry and cry, and they’ll be like, ‘Boss up.’”

She added, “And I’m gonna be honest, when my album came out last week, I never thought the day would come, so when it actually happened, I was like trying to figure out every way in my head to make sure it wasn’t happening, or it was like imposter syndrome, so I keep reciting to myself, ‘I deserve it, I deserve it.’”

In Pieces is out now via Columbia Records and Parkwood Entertainment. Find more information here.

Beyoncé, Doja Cat, And Steve Lacy Are Honored On The ‘Time’ List Of The ‘100 Most Influential People’ For 2023

Today (April 13), Time magazine has shared its annual “100 Most Influential People” list. It’s a prestigious roster, separated into sections of artists, icons, pioneers, leaders, titans, and innovators. It features some revered musicians, including Beyoncé, Doja Cat, and Steve Lacy.

The “Bad Habit” singer who unleashed Gemini Rights last year came up on the section of artists. Chloë wrote Lacy’s blurb, lauding: “What I admire most about Steve Lacy is that he’s always himself — a good person who loves to make music. In a world where everything’s so contrived, he just wants to nerd out and be free, and that makes him a force to be reckoned with.”

DJ Honey Dijon wrote Beyoncé’s excerpt for her spot as a titan: “From R&B to house, gospel to techno, hip-hop to vogue, Beyoncé wove a tapestry of music on Renaissance that celebrated all facets of Black music, including the immense contributions of the Black gay and queer community.”

Doja Cat was dubbed a pioneer. Australian film directer Baz Luhrmann sung Doja Cat’s praised: “Doja is a true child of the internet, creatively plugged into the kind of social connection that I’m generationally incapable of understanding. She is personally connected with her fans, and that allows her to understand and feed back to them. She can’t be boxed in. She’s a rapper, a singer, a performance artist — she’s the canvas on which she expresses a character or an idea. There’s no ‘brand’ to Doja Cat. You never know what she’s going to do next, and that’s exciting.”

Doja Cat, Beyoncé & Steve Lacy Honored In TIME’s Most Influential People Of 2023

TIME magazine just revealed their list of the most influential people of 2023, and some of our favorite musicians made the cut. Moreover, they specifically highlighted Beyoncé, Steve Lacy, and Doja Cat, with the latter receiving a cover issue and story with a foreword by Elvis director Baz Luhrmann. Furthermore, readers may remember that Doja provided the song “Vegas” for the film’s soundtrack. As far as other names, the publication also shouted out Jerrod Carmichael, Aubrey Plaza, Zoe Saldaña, Angela Bassett, and many more. On the athlete side, Brittney Griner, Kylian Mbappé, and Patrick Mahomes II were among the honorees.

When it comes to Doja Cat, she played with fans recently by saying that she was going to quit music while then hinting at what’s to come on her next album- though that could also be a joke. “I also agree with everyone who said the majority of my rap verses are mid and corny,” she stated on social media. “I know they are, I wasn’t trying to prove anything, I just enjoy making music. But I’m getting tired of hearing y’all say that I can’t, so I will. The whole album is no longer rap y’all. It’s rock/spoken work and the album title is not Hellmouth anymore.”

Steve Lacy, Doja Cat & Beyoncé Get Their Flowers From TIME

On the other hand, Steve Lacy recently shared some of the greats that influenced him in the creation of his hit album Gemini Rights from last year. “I’ve always loved doing that,” Lacy remarked on fusing genres together. “If I have a rocky beat, putting a soulful melody on it. Like ‘Dark Red’ and all those types of songs. It’s a way to play and introduce new ideas into things that we know already. Growing up playing Guitar Hero put me on to a lot of rock and guitar music. As I got older, artists such as Paramore raised me. Mac DeMarco, Dirty Projectors, Vampire Weekend. Even Weezer’s ‘Undone’ is one of my favorite songs ever. Hayley’s voice [of Paramore] and melodies are crazy because she takes the rock thing and makes it soulful.”

“When I make music, I take a small piece of everything that I love,” he continued. “I’ll take certain melodic approaches from Prince, but I’ll play it as if someone else was mimicking Prince, like if Jimi Hendrix tried to be Prince. But I like to mix different approaches together. It happens naturally. I’m never doing it all purposely. It’s just inside of me.” Meanwhile, Beyoncé recently reached another career high, as “CUFF IT” surpassed “Halo” as her longest-charting solo song of all time. Even someone of these artists’ caliber continues finding new ways to succeed, exceed expectations, and make new and equally relevant splashes in the culture. For more on Doja Cat, Beyoncé, and Steve Lacy, come back to HNHH.
