All The Best Festival Fashion At Coachella 2023

Coachella Music and Arts Festival returned to Indio, California this weekend, loaded with great music that literally drew fans from all over the world. With Puerto Rican star Bad Bunny and K-pop icons Blackpink among the headliners, Coachella’s global movement is in full swing, with other key artists (Frank Ocean, Blink-182, Phoebe Bridgers) hailing from the festival’s own backyard of Southern California. With so many locales represented, the expectation was that the fans would show up looking as fashionable and as eclectic as ever. And, they certainly delivered.

It’s been slightly more temperate weather conditions in California this year, thanks to a particularly cool and wet SoCal winter (there is even some snow still on the peaks near the fest). One of the questions for the weekend was whether people would tout as much skin as in years past. The answer was a resounding yes, as people still came ready for sun and dancing, even if the thermometer struggled to hit 80 degrees. The fans that didn’t arrive dressed to impress had options as well, with plenty of ways to tout Coachella-specific looks from the many merch vendors and an American Express pop-up with exclusive Blackpink shirts and accessories.

With Coachella’s first day in the books, take a look at some of our favorite festival fashion photos from the fest so far.

Kaytranada Brings Out Aminé, Kali Uchis At Coachella

Kaytranada took the Coachella stage last night, and fans were treated to some surprises. The producer already had people hyped, but the crowd had no idea what they were in for. True to the festival’s tradition of surprise guests, he brought out Kali Uchis. The singer performed their collab, “10%,” after Kaytranada had teased a snippet of her vocals. The event was live-streamed, and fans both in the audience and at home were thrilled by the guest appearance. Still, Kaytranada had even more in store for his fans.

In addition to the surprise appearance of Kali Uchis, Kaytranada also brought out rapper Aminé to perform with him. The rapper hyped up the crowd for the producer. He excitedly led them in a chant of “Kaytraminé,” a combination of the pair’s names. The name was flashing on the screen behind the duo as the set finished. The name might ring a bell for some. Last week, the pair hinted that it would be the name for a collaborative project between them.

Kaytranada + Aminé = Kaytraminé

Aminé and Kaytranada recently announced they were teaming up for an eagerly awaited collab. They announced the news in a teaser video shared on Instagram. While the video left much to the imagination, fans have already expressed their excitement in the comment section. Both Aminé and Kaytranada have been keeping fans waiting since their last projects dropped in 2021, making this collaboration highly anticipated. With their impressive track record of successful collaborations in the past, fans are eagerly anticipating the outcome of this project, whether it’s a single, an album, a mixtape, or something else entirely. The buzz around it is palpable, and fans are eager to see what musical magic Aminé and Kaytranada will create together.

Fans immediately noticed the post, commenting about how excited they were about the project. Scrolling through the comments on the video, it’s difficult to find a single negative one. “I USED TO PRAY FOR TIMES LIKE THIS,” said one user. “Peak music has returned,” another claimed. Seems like lots of people are looking forward to the collab. The Coachella performance was just a primer as we surely have plenty to look forward to from them in the near future. Kaytranada Brought Out Kali Uchis And Aminé As Some Surprise Guests During His Coachella Set

Kaytranada played his Coachella set today, as it was being livestreamed from the outdoor stage. He also brought out a few surprise guests during his performance — keeping with the festival’s tradition of bringing some friends along.

Kali Uchis showed up so the two could deliver their collab, “10%,” after he teased a loop of her vocals on the song. Fans watching from their devices were instantly thrilled.

“I wake up, it’s so good to be me / In the mirror, it’s good to see me / I don’t check for these other b*tches / You can ask God ’cause that’s my witness,” she sang.

As the story goes, back in 2019, the pair had originally premiered the song (and their fourth collaboration) at Coachella, so this brings things full circle.

“Kaytranada brought Kali Uchis out! I’m gagged,” one fan wrote. “yooo kali coming out during kaytranada’s set doing 10% was something i needed today,” another added.

Later into the set, he also brought out Aminé, given the two have a joint album project, titled Kaytraminé, on the horizon.

Throughout the rest of Kaytranada’s show, he incorporated songs like Beyoncé’s “Cuff It” to heighten his trippy and energetic stage presence.

Frank Ocean Trends After It Seems He’s Not Dropping Music Before Coachella

Frank Ocean fans hoped that he would release something before his Coachella performance this weekend. However, it’s new music Friday, and seemingly nothing has popped up from the former Odd Future superstar. Still, his fanbase and the music community at large is eagerly anticipating his headlining slot at the music festival this Sunday (April 16). In fact, discussion and anticipation around the performance is so big that he started to trend on Twitter just because fans lamented he didn’t drop anything this week. That being said, there are a little over 48 hours left before he takes the Coachella stage. If there’s anything fans know about the 35-year-old, it’s that anything can happen in that timeframe.

Despite fans being mostly in the dark, they spotted some compelling hints recently of his upcoming performance. While we know nothing of a future Frank Ocean drop, some onlookers did spot a rehearsal for his Coachella slot recently. In a short social media clip that made the rounds online, you can faintly hear his track “Nights” playing on festival grounds in the distance. For anyone living near the festival desert, it must be a blessing (or a noise-complaint-prompting curse) for people to be close to the magic.

Frank Ocean Is (Almost) Silent Before Festival Return

Also, another picture surfaced online that was an edited picture of the “Pyramids” singer- but many thought it was his new look. Sporting a fuzzy beard and long-locked hair, people quickly identified that it was an edited version of a previous picture of Frank Ocean. Still, that didn’t stop people from putting all their hopes in a picture for new music. However, there was another recent public appearance that led fans to believe he was slowly coming out of his shell and into the public eye more. Fans spotted him watching Omar Apollo open for SZA during her “SOS” tour, even though that doesn’t mean much as far as his now hints towards something new.

For example, through a poster for his vinyl reissue of Blonde, he told a story that many interpreted as a hint towards new music. Basically, it revolves around “a fictitious Recording Artist” that tries to drop singles instead of albums. This mirrors Frank Ocean’s run of singles following the release of Endless and Blonde. In the end, though, it hints at the “Recording Artist” pursuing “more durational bodies of work” once again. With that in mind, log back into HNHH for the latest on Frank Ocean and check out reactions to his lack of drops before Coachella down below.

Fans React Ahead Of Coachella Performance

Bad Bunny Returned To Instagram To Tease A Revealing Coachella Set: ‘I Have So Much To Tell You’

As of this post, it’s just a matter of hours before the 2023 Coachella festival kicks off. Bad Bunny is set to close out the first day with a performance tonight (find the full list of set times for this first weekend here). Before that, though, he took to Instagram to set the table for a revealing set.

The post shared yesterday (April 13) includes a gallery of Bad Bunny photos and the caption, “tengo mucho que decirles, pero mejor les digo mañana en Coachella…,” which Instagram automatically translates to, “I have so much to tell you, but I better tell you tomorrow at Coachella…”

This post is also notable for marking Bad Bunny’s return to Instagram. In early January, he wiped his account clean, and days after that, he made the account private. At the time, he also updated his Twitter bio to read, “me van a extrañar…,” which translates to, “you will miss me.”

That came after he told Billboard in late 2022, “I’m taking a break. 2023 is for me, for my physical health, my emotional health to breathe, enjoy my achievements. We’re going to celebrate. Let’s go here, let’s go there, let’s go on the boat. I have a couple of sporadic commitments, and I’ll go to the studio, but there’s no pressure. Remember yourself, cabrón. You’ve worked your ass off.”

What Time Does Bad Bunny Perform At Coachella 2023?

Bad Bunny is appointment viewing. It doesn’t matter if it’s “Carpool Karaoke,” Wrestlemania 39, the 2023 Grammys, or his record-smashing tour, people just want more Benito.

In January, Coachella confirmed Bad Bunny as this year’s Friday headliner (April 14 and 21) — making him the first-ever Latin artist to headline the iconic festival — and one day ahead of what is sure to be an epic set, we finally know exactly what time Bad Bunny will take the Coachella Stage.

Coachella officially shared all set times for tomorrow, April 14, and Bad Bunny is expected to start his set at 11:25 p.m. PT on the Coachella stage.

The main stage will host Gorillaz (8:35 to 9:50 p.m.), Burna Boy (7:05 to 7:55 p.m.), Becky G (5:45 to 6:30 p.m.), Pusha T (4:30 to 5:15 p.m.), Doechii (3:30 to 4:10 p.m.), and Record Safari (2:50 to 3:25 p.m.) before giving way to Bad Bunny.

Fans unable to make it to Indio, California will be able to stream Coachella on YouTube, with each stage receiving its own feed.

Bad Bunny shared with Billboard toward the end of last year that he envisioned this year as one for rest, so it would be wise to take advantage of watching him perform in any capacity.

“I’m taking a break,” he told the publication. “2023 is for me, for my physical health, my emotional health to breathe, enjoy my achievements. We’re going to celebrate. Let’s go here, let’s go there, let’s go on the boat. I have a couple of sporadic commitments, and I’ll go to the studio, but there’s no pressure. Remember yourself, cabrón. You’ve worked your ass off.”

What Time Does Frank Ocean Perform At Coachella 2023?

Frank Ocean has been making headlines for a rumored collaboration with BMW and a viral new look. He’s also about to headline Coachella on April 16 and April 23 and fans are freaking out.

Festival attendees are restless for set times to know when to rush to stages to see their favorite performers, and finally, they’re out. Ocean’s highly anticipated set for the first weekend will be taking place at 10:05 p.m. PT on the Coachella stage, so concertgoers have to make sure to stick around late to catch him.

The Blonde musician was rumored to play Coachella before he was announced as a headliner. He was supposed to perform at the festival in 2020, which ended up being canceled due to COVID-19. He was unavailable for the 2022 dates, with festival co-founder Paul Tollett saying, “Right now, it’s the Wild West. I’m just trying to be as fair as I can to artists and to the fans to make sure that eventually they get to see everyone that we talked about.”

Other exciting acts taking the stage the same day as Frank include GloRilla, Fousheé, A Boogie With Da Hoodie, Latto, Rae Sremmurd, Sudan Archives, Noname, IDK, Dominic Fike, Willow, Pi’erre Bourne, and more. Find the full lineup here.

The Weeknd Seemingly Confirmed He’s Making A Surprise Coachella 2023 Appearance

Coachella 2023 is coming up this weekend, and just hours ago, the set times were revealed. A previously unannounced Blink-182 performance was a surprise, but it may not be the only unexpected twist: The Weeknd isn’t officially on the lineup, but it looks like he may end up performing at the festival regardless.

He stirred up some speculation on April 10, tweeting, “[desert emoji] ?” He followed that with,”where will you find me ?”

Then, during a recent Instagram Live session (as Complex notes), The Weeknd told somebody off camera, “You just said ‘see you in the desert’ on Live. Exposed,” seemingly indicating that they “exposed” his surprise Coachella appearance.

On top of that, fan Twitter account @abelstargirllll shared a graphic of The Weeknd yesterday (April 12) and wrote, “THE WEEKND WILL PERFORM AT COACHELLA THIS YEAR.” While that in itself isn’t a big deal, The Weeknd retweeted the post.

The Weeknd could potentially make guest appearances during other sets, as some of his collaborators/associates are performing, like Metro Boomin, Calvin Harris, and Kaytranada. He could also pop up during Blackpink’s headlining performance, considering he and the group’s Jennie star in the upcoming HBO series The Idol together.
