Angela Simmons Addresses Backlash & Cringe Over Her Bedazzled Gun Purse At The BET Awards

Angela Simmons made quite the fashion statement at the 2024 BET Awards in Los Angeles last night (Sunday, June 30), brandishing a bedazzled purse shaped like a gun in the cameras’ faces. A lot of folks on social media, like you’ll see in the comments sections of the Instagram posts below, labeled this as a pretty cringe showing, or at the very least a bizarre one. Moreover, Yo Gotti’s boo recently took to the Internet to explain her decision and respond to a lot of folks hating on her for this move. From what she said in the clip below, she just really liked the design and didn’t want to promote that sort of lifestyle.

“So I see a lot of conversation around the bag, the purse I wore to the awards,” Angela Simmons’ message began. “And normally I don’t address, like, rumors and stuff. But I’m not like that, never been like that. I’m super -– like, I’m not violent. I’ve obviously been through a lot in my personal life when it comes to gun violence and it’s very personal to me.

Angela Simmons Responds To Gun Purse Backlash

“But I just liked the bag and I thought it was cool and I thought it was a fashion moment and that was it,” Angela Simmons continued. “I didn’t have any intentions of ruffling anyone’s feathers. It seems like everyone -– or a couple of people, I’lll say -– are a little upset. But I don’t mean no harm. [I’m] super, super peaceful, and… Yeah. I’m sorry if it bothered anyone, but that’s not me, that’s just not how I am.” While a lot of her content online can lean more in a thirst trap direction, it’s clear that she wanted to leave that to the side and focus on this current issue.

Meanwhile, Angela Simmons and Yo Gotti will continue to represent hip-hop at its own spaces and beyond. For example, they and E-40 hit up a White House party last year in lavish fashion, living it up with the big wigs and making their mark on pop culture extend beyond typical spaces. We’ll see what else she decides to try out to make a style statement. Hopefully it’s a tad less violent.

Offset Accused Of “Disrespecting” Cardi B On IG Amid Pregnancy Rumors

As of late, fans have started to speculate that Cardi B could be expecting, adding yet another layer of confusion to her already murky relationship status. Late last year, she announced that she and her longtime partner Offset had gone their separate ways. Since then, however, they appear to be back on good terms. It’s unclear at the time of writing whether or not they’re in a relationship again, though it seems like they’re at least keeping things cordial for their little ones.

The femcee stepped out last week for a BET Experience performance in an oversized sequined jersey dress, which left some suspecting that she was trying to hide a growing bump. Considering the fact that she and Offset just recently overcame some serious issues, this had fans concerned. Matters were only made worse today when the former Migos member took to Instagram to promote some new merch.

Offset’s Latest IG Post

The photos feature various scantily clad women rocking “rare” t-shirts and panties, an apparent nod to his recent Gunna collab. “She do what I say she gone fetch,” he captioned the post, quoting the song. Commenters are now accusing him of disrespecting Cardi, and they’re not holding back in the slightest. “If my husband posted this, I would be pissed! This is very disrespectful,” one user writes. “Who gone fetch?” another wonders. “You should’ve known better than to post this mess.”

Others are coming to his defense, arguing that he was just promoting his music and merch, which likely won’t impact his relationship with the “Enough” performer. What do you think of rumors that Cardi B could be expecting? What about Offset’s latest Instagram post? Do you think he deserves the backlash he’s receiving online, or are social media users simply overreacting? Swizz Beatz Dismisses Backlash To His & Timbaland’s “Verzuz” Deal With Elon Musk

The announcement of a new exclusive Verzuz distribution partnership with Twitter had many fans calling series heads Swizz Beatz and Timbaland out for allegedly “selling out.” Moreover, this new initiative became news on Juneteenth, and followed much controversy after Musk supported a tweet on his platform that provided false comparative data of Black-on-white murder. However, Swizz took to Instagram on Friday morning (June 21) to double down on his support and on his belief that he and Timbo are doing what’s right and best for them and the series without compromising on their values. He included a couple of other pictures of the meeting in which they apparently sealed the deal.

We will show you better than tell you. Blessings to all,” Swizz Beatz captioned the social media post. In the comments section of that post (which you can find below), he addressed some specific concerns. “But nobody said anything before we been on that platform since Verzuz started,” the producer replied to a comment stating that folks have valid reason to be skeptical about this. “Verzuz been on this platform since day one !” he responded to a complaint that suggested they do this with another social media site. “People want to talk with out doing the homework . The convo always been on that platform King bless up!! and we’re 100% black owned that’s not enough we own 100% of the IP and company!”

Swizz Beatz’s Latest IG Post: See Comments For His Retorts

However, Swizz Beatz did agree with a bizarre comment about his new Instagram post being what they should’ve posted on Juneteenth. In addition, he had this to say about someone that criticized him and Timbaland for apparently selling out and doing something that the people aren’t feeling. “Trust me that was the last thing we did was sell out [crying-laughing emoji] relax you will understand in 1min.”

Meanwhile, Swizz Beatz teased a lot when it came to the reunion of Tha Dogg Pound that landed earlier this year. Hopefully this means that there’s much more new music on the way as well, regardless of what happens with Verzuz. It’ll be exciting to see how it develops, even with these grievances and concerns in mind. All we can hope for is that he and Timbaland got a much better understanding of a hopefully beneficiary deal than we did.

Kendrick Lamar Criticized For Inviting Dr. Dre To “The Pop Out” Despite Abuse Allegations

Last night, Kendrick Lamar took over the Forum in LA for his eagerly anticipated “Pop Out” show. He graced the stage alongside several of his celebrity friends, including Dr. Dre. The artist even kicked off “Not Like Us,” which fans were waiting to hear all night. Of course, this is the track widely believed to have crowned Kendrick the winner of his viral lyrical battle with Drake. On it, he famously accuses the Toronto hitmaker of being a “certified pedophile,” and more.

As reactions to the explosive performance continue to roll in, many are calling Dr. Dre’s appearance into question. While he’s certainly one of the most successful artists to come out of Compton, he also has a long history of alleged violence against women. Dee Barnes, for example, accuses him of having physically assaulted her at a release party in the early 90s over a Pump It Up segment. His former partner Michel’le also alleges that she was abused throughout their relationship.

Dr. Dre Performs With Kendrick Lamar In LA

Years later, he issued an apology. “I apologize to the women I’ve hurt,” he told the New York Times in 2015. “I deeply regret what I did and know that it has forever impacted all of our lives.” Social media users are now criticizing Kendrick for his decision to invite Dr. Dre onstage, particularly since he calls Drake an alleged abuser on “Not Like Us.” Many think this was counterproductive, and are sounding off online.

“Why did Kendrick even bother to call Drake out for being a pedophile who surrounds himself with abusers on ‘Not Like Us’ if he was just going to call Dr. Dre—King of the Abusers—to introduce it?” one Twitter user wonders. “DR DRE GOT A WEIRD CASE, WHY IS HE AROUND?”” another asks.

Charleston White Hit With Severe Backlash After Making Disgusting Comments About Enchanting’s Death

Charleston White is someone who has always said controversial things. Overall, that’s how he became famous. However, there are times where he completely steps over the line. When this happens, he typically goes viral. Furthermore, he gets hit with a ton of deserved backlash. Well, it happened again yesterday as White decided to weigh in on the tragic passing of Enchanting. Instead of saying some kind words about her, White delivered a disgusting IG post in which he had nothing but awful things to say.

“This young lady is from my city, I’m very familiar with her rap success and it wasn’t a success! I mentioned her situation years ago, she was a FUCK TOY with talent who hardly put out music but posted a lot of social media pics!” White wrote. “If someone die doing what they like to do (getting high) then why should anyone be sad for that person? She died a dopefiend just like the rest of them in the music industry! I told y’all they was just fucking on her and wasn’t putting no music out!”

DaBaby Doesn’t Care About The Backlash To Ignoring His Kids’ Birthdays On Social Media

DaBaby often pops out with some pretty interesting social media content, including a recent recreation of a now-iconic Boosie Badazz fishing pic. However, one particular fan went viral for suggesting that he does a lot for his friends and for himself online, but not his children. “DaBaby will post his homies birthdays but not his kids [crying emojis],” they tweeted. “My kids don’t have Instagram, w***e [crying-laughing emoji],” the North Carolina MC responded along with a confused GIF. “F**k do ppl be talking about? [crying-laughing emoji],” he added. In addition, Baby replied to a fan who pointed out that he probably just didn’t share a personal moment online, which is totally fine, with this message for the original hater: “Damn fool [facepalm emoji].”

Furthermore, this is far from DaBaby’s only notable dispute online this year. He recently claimed that a well-known rapper tried to start fake beef with him, which had a lot of fans then accusing Joyner Lucas of being the culprit because fans thought he lined up with his description. Joyner denied this outright, and so the mystery of what this fabricated battle could’ve looked like will probably remain for years to come. Unless they actually get to barring up, which would be pretty interesting.

DaBaby Claps Back At Fan Questioning His Online Posts About His Kids (Or Lack Thereof)

In fact, we know that DaBaby is, at the very least, comfortable with the pace and aesthetics of rap beef, which is currently dominated by the Kendrick Lamar and Drake battle. He spit a wild freestyle over Kendrick’s “Not Like Us” recently, which has his fans holding on to his strong deliveries and emphatic energy. Maybe this is the same energy that the “BOP” spitter should have for online trolls, but that would probably cause more problems than solutions down the road. Whether or not a hypothetical beef is fake or not, there’s a good chance that he would absolutely impress in the ring.

Elsewhere, though, DaBaby is trying to postpone his alleged assault trial due to his lawyer’s health complications. We haven’t really gotten many updates on this case since this late April development, so we’ll see if there’s an answer soon. Regardless, he’s probably got some more big plans in store for 2024, so we’ll wait patiently to see what he chooses to release on wax or post online. If your moral and family criteria includes birthday tributes on the ‘Gram, you’re in for a rude awakening one of these days.

Meek Mill Faces Backlash For Post About The Notorious B.I.G.’s Casket

Meek Mill is coming under fire on X (formerly Twitter) for his recent post about seeing a picture of The Notorious B.I.G.’s casket. In the post, he wrote: “Today I seen biggie in a casket I stared at that pic for 30mins a [sic] straight.” Fans have been sharing plenty of laughs at his expense in response as he provided zero context to the story.

“wtf do meek mill be talking about forreal ? He stared at a picture of biggie in a casket for 30 mins straight?! Like who be asking this stuff.” Other users were quick to joke that Diddy must’ve shown him the body while more asked what they were supposed to do with the information. One fan came to his defense. “if I was you big dawg I’ll stay off this internet sh*t bro,” they wrote. “Everything you say now the internet trolling you your kids don’t need to see this bro live your life & get a bag but get a PR to write and promote and educate leave the other sh*t off THE NET.”

It’s far from the first time Meek has faced backlash on social media as of late. Amid the various allegations against Diddy, Meek has dealt with criticism for his continued support of the Bad Boy mogul. That changed when CNN published footage of Diddy appearing to assalt Cassie at a hotel in 2016, last month. The incident and Diddy’s subsequent apology finally caused Meek to unfollow Diddy on social media.

Ice Spice Defends Controversial “Y2K!” Album Cover & David LaChapelle

Earlier this week, Ice Spice finally announced an official release date for her highly anticipated debut album, Y2K! The project is scheduled to drop on July 26 and is available for pre-save now. Alongside the exciting announcement, the Bronx-born performer unveiled cover art for the upcoming release. In it, the hitmaker is seen perched up against a wall alongside a New York City subway.

Unfortunately, social media users were quick to react to the artwork, and many of them were less than satisfied. While some took issue with the Graffiti-inspired being placed on a trash can, others weren’t feeling the inclusion of her signature. They’ve been sounding off about it online, and calling whoever was behind the cover into question. Of course, this person is David LaChapelle, an award-winning photographer and music video director.

Ice Spice Says Y2K! Cover “Means Everything” To Her

Luckily, it doesn’t appear as though the criticism fazes Ice Spice. Earlier today, she took to social media to praise LaChapelle amid the backlash, making it clear that she loves the cover art. “David LaChapelle is #Y2K! soooo sweet + legendary he didn’t even charge me cus he f*cks wit a real b*tch,” she captioned a photo of the two of them together. “Thank U for all the incredible art you’ve put out through the years this cover means everything to me & yes Y2K was placed on the trash can on purpose can u guess why?”

Her Twitter/X replies are now flooded with guesses about the album title placement, though it’s unclear whether or not she plans to reveal its meaning. What do you think of Ice Spice and David LaChapelle receiving backlash for her Y2K! cover art? Do you think it’s warranted, or are social media users simply overreacting? What about the femcee coming to LaChapelle’s defense and confirming that she loves the album cover? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

50 Cent Laughs Off Lauren Boebert Photo Op & Her Groping Scandal

50 Cent’s recent trip to Capitol Hill and the White House to speak to Congressional and government officials about the liquor business, his battle with Beam Suntory, and Black excellence on Wednesday (June 5) took a pretty wild turn quickly. Moreover, this is because of the fan reaction to his picture with Republican Colorado representative Lauren Boebert. Apart from her controversial political views, she also faced many scandalous accusations in the past, such as inappropriate groping during a film screening. Fif seemed to take little issue with this response, but expressed annoyance with fans hyper-fixating on this.

“Wait, wait, guys i took pictures with everyone and all you seem to care about is Lauren,” 50 Cent shared in the caption of a recent Instagram post on the matter. “What did she do in a dark theater that hasn’t been done, my God ! Hey I don’t have chlamydia by the way. LOL.” Of course, many took more issue with her conservative politics more so than her, shall we say, extracurricular affairs. Regardless, we doubt that this will faze the biggest rap troll on the planet that much.

50 Cent Questions What All The Fuss Is About Over Lauren Boebert Photo

However, 50 Cent is much more well-known for his other political views these days, namely his mocking response to Donald Trump’s recent conviction. “SMH don’t worry the world’s almost over,” he wrote on Instagram regarding the news that Trump has received over $200 million in donations for his 2024 presidential campaign amid this guilty verdict (although it’s unclear how much in donations came after the verdict). “Just enjoy the moment and be happy.” It seems like that’s all we can do these days, because it’s not like we’re going to find good news about this upcoming election very often.

Meanwhile, we’re sure that 50 Cent will get back to his trolling antics surrounding the Diddy scandal very soon, as is business as usual. But seeing these political crossovers is not only a bit strange, but goes to show that some people aren’t politicians for a reason. We’ll see whether this Washington D.C. trip results in any favors or good graces for the G-Unit mogul’s legal liquor company battle. Maybe it will just be a photo op with some suits, as eyebrow-raising as this may be in this case.

50 Cent’s Flirty Lauren Boebert Link-Up Gets Him Flamed By Fans

50 Cent is certainly no stranger to sparking controversy with his online antics, and his latest batch of Instagram posts have done just that. While the hitmaker frequently shares his unfiltered takes on hot topics in hip-hop, such as Diddy and his countless allegations, he also doesn’t shy away from politics. Of course, this tends to get fans riled up in his comments section, but regardless, he doesn’t appear to be slowing down.

Today, for example, Fif took a trip to Capitol Hill where he linked up with various politicians and shared photos of his visit on Instagram. One in particular, with U.S. Rep Lauren Boebert, is causing an uproar. He had nothing but nice things to say in his caption about Boebert, who’s known for being a staunch gun advocate and for allegedly getting some action during a Beetlejuice performance last fall.

50 Cent Poses Alongside Lauren Boebert In New Photo

“Lauren Boebert, Colorado Republican making the white house look good,” he wrote alongside a smirk emoji. Followers are outraged by the seemingly flirty post, and sounding off in 50 Cent’s comments section. “Why anyone would want to associate themselves with this type of a woman is beyond me,” one critical commenter writes. “Sir there is still time to delete this,” another says.

He shared photos alongside some democratic reps too, including Joyce Beatty, Troy Carter, and Nikema Williams. Those posts seem to have earned him a fair bit of backlash as well, though they haven’t gotten nearly as much attention as his photo with Boebert. What do you think of 50 Cent sparking controversy with his latest photos from his visit to Capitol Hill? Do you think he deserves the backlash he’s receiving online for posing alongside Lauren Boebert? Are social media users overreacting?
