Drake Gives A Fan $10k And A First Class Flight To Atlanta

Drake has been hitting cities all over North America all summer and fans have noticed who is in attendance. From sports mega-stars like Kevin Durant, Jayson Tatum, and Johnny Manziel to musicians like Bad Bunny, Latto, Lil Yachty and more have shown up to attend. But just like fans have taken notice of the many celebrities in attendance, the rapper himself took notice of one particular fan.

During a stop in Houston, Drake took the opportunity in between songs to show love to one particular fan in attendance. He stopped the show to talk directly to a woman in the front row, shouting her out for appearing at numerous tour stops this summer. But he went far beyond just being happy to see her. He announced to the crowd that the special fan was being flown first class to Atlanta to sit in the VIP section for another show on tour. He concluded the interaction by offering her $10k to spend while there, which caused the crowd to erupt in applause. Check out the full video below.

This isn’t the first time recently that Drake has shown off his generosity during a show. He’s been giving out Chanel bags to fans in attendance recently and one particular fan’s sign caught his attention at a recent show. The sign showed just how many Brazilian waxes one fan had to perform to make the money for a ticket, and the rapper rewarded her appropriately with a Chanel bag to take home after the show.

During that same show, he also reunited with his splash brother French Montana. That led to speculation about if Montana would appear on Drake’s new album For All The Dogs. He’s already announced that Bad Bunny will be appearing on the record and released a new song with SZA that’s expected to land in the tracklist when it drops next month. Recently, Destroy Lonely took the stage at Music Midtown Festival in Atlanta. The rapper surprised fans in his hometown with a couple of special guests, Playboi Carti and Ken Carson. In a clip from the event, attendees are heard going wild as they make their way onto the stage. The trio gave fans a preview of what’s to come on the Antagonist tour, which is scheduled to begin later this year.

Playboi Carti recently announced the rescheduled Antagonist tour, which is now set to kick off in November. He’ll start with dates in Dublin, Manchester, and London. He’ll make his way to the U.S. in January, performing in notable cities like Miami, NYC, Chicago, LA, and more. Ken Carson, Destroy Lonely, and more will also appear as supporting acts.

Carti fans continue to eagerly-await his follow-up to 2020’s Whole Lotta Red. Supporters have been strung along by various leaks and previews for some time, but they’re starting to get antsy. Last week, he was scheduled to debut a brand new song on Atlanta’s V-103 radio station, but things didn’t go as planned. The station apologized, however, fans still weren’t happy. They took to social media to weigh in, expressing their disappointment that they didn’t get to hear the new song.

Joseline Hernandez was easily one of the biggest stars on Love & Hip-Hop Atlanta during her run between 2012 and 2017. Overall, Love & Hip-Hop is one of the biggest reality TV series in America, and the Atlanta version has proven to be a success. That said, when you think of all of the talent on these shows, you would expect them to be paid accordingly. After all, doing reality TV can be seriously hard work. Sure, you may just be living your life, but the vulnerability that comes with letting people see your inner world is quite taxing.

Recently, according to The Jasmine Brand, Hernandez recently sat down with Carlos King for a conversation about her life on LHHATL. As Hernandez explains, she was constantly being given raises for her work. However, there was good reason for this. Overall, she was the cast’s most popular personality, and the network wanted to keep her on board for many years. “Within the first week I went from making like $1,500 per episode to making $11,000 per episode,” she revealed. “In a week. I didn’t ask for them to bump me up, they bumped me up.”

She then continued about her salary trajectory and how it eventually reached $50K per episode. “Then second season, I was making like $15,000, and then like by the end of second season I went up to like $20,000…they just kept bumping me up,” Hernandez says. “They was just throwing money at me they was like ‘we don’t want her not to come to work’…they would just bump me up. They did that for years.” Considering the amount of episodes in a season, Hernandez could make close to $2 million per year. Moreover, she was getting a bonus that was close to $250K, every single season. Needless to say, she was bringing home a lot of cash.

High School Football Coach Arrested After Punching Player On Live TV

With documentaries like BS High hitting streaming platforms, there is increased scrutiny on High School football. Overall, there are some bad people associated with high school athletics. While some claim to have your child’s best interest in mind, that is not always the case. It can be extremely difficult to navigate these spaces, especially when you think about what is on the line. Although the coaches are now under more scrutiny than ever, some are still abusing their positions of power.

According to TMZ, a coach at an Atlanta high school was arrested recently after punching a player on the sidelines. The game was being televised, and consequently, the punch was caught on cameras. This match was between Mays H.S. and Douglas H.S. Subsequently after the punch, the player was in quite a bit of pain and was even clutching at his stomach. It was a horrific display that was immediately dealt with. According to Atlanta Public Schools, the coach is being investigated, as we speak. The coach will also be charged.

High School Football Under Scrutiny

“Video from the live broadcast of the game appears to show the lay coach physically assaulting a player,” APS said, according to TMZ. “The adult will be charged with simple battery and faces administrative charges from the district as well. The safety and well-being of all APS students remains a high priority for the district and all APS employees are held to the highest standard of conduct and professionalism.” Overall, it is good to see the school system acting swiftly in this instance. Otherwise, who knows what that coach could have done to another player?

This is all very distressing and we hope this is not part of a larger trend. Players have more of a platform than ever before, so hopefully, they can stop more coaches like this from getting away with abuse. Erica Mena Bit Police Officer During Weekend Arrest In Atlanta: Report

Rumour has it that Erica Mena was drunk when police apprehended her at an Atlanta lounge on Friday (August 25). At the time, she was with Love & Hip-Hop co-star Bambi Benson, as well as ZellSwag and his boyfriend, Saucy Santana. The initial reports lacked detail. Nevertheless, over the past few days, video footage of the brawl that resulted in Mena’s arrest has surfaced online. Though her charges are the most severe, three others were taken into custody at the Fulton County Jail alongside her.

In the footage taken inside the venue, the reality starlet is undeniably doing too much. She appears to scream and jump up and down on couches while partying. Her energy level reached far above anyone else in the area. When security guards asked her to leave is reportedly when Mena became aggressive. As he saw the large men apprehending his small female friend, Zell stepped in, causing the situation to further escalate.

On Sunday (August 27), the police unveiled new details surrounding the incident. Arguably the juiciest piece of tea in the update is that Mena’s simple battery against an officer charge (which only she received) stemmed from her biting an officer during their altercation. It’s unclear where the 35-year-old sunk her teeth into her victim, or why, but answers will surely come forward in the coming weeks when Mena finally feels ready to speak on the situation.

YFN Lucci Trial: New Photo Of Rapper Surfaces From Jail

Rapper YFN Lucci remains behind bars in Georgia as he awaits the start of his trial on the charges of murder and racketeering. At the time of writing, he has been incarcerated for 948 after being arrested in January 2021. However, court proceedings have been on hold for some time, leaving the rapper to languish behind bars. Meanwhile, the primary reason for Lucci’s trial delay has been the ongoing trial for Young Thug and the rest of YSL. Lucci’s trial will likely be further delayed following the indictment of former President Donald Trump, which was announced last week.

Amid all of this, an image of Lucci has been released. Dressed in a classic black and white jail jumpsuit, Lucci has dreads and looks entirely despondent. “Lucci’s trial date has been postponed. No new court date has been set,” the rapper’s attorney said earlier this week.

The primary reason for the delay in Lucci’s case is that Lucci is actually part of the YSL case. “YFN Lucci’s trial was due to begin January 9, same as Young Thug’s. The YFN gang and RICO case is just as wide-ranging as the YSL case,” Chidi tweeted. “The two are connected; Lucci is a witness,” tweeted journalist George Chidi. “And here we go. For clarification: Lucci is on the state’s witness list. That doesn’t mean he’s going to testify, but he could still be called. Don’t @ me with questions about snitching. I don’t care.”

However, it’s the possibility that Lucci could be called to testify means that his trial cannot start. Prosecutors would not want to begin only to be postponed if he was called to testify in the YSL case. This comes as more twists emerge in the YSL case. Last week, a warrant was ordered on the laptop of attorney Eric Johnson. Johnson had been accused of allowing one of his clients, Christian Eppinger, to use his laptop to contact people and YSL contacts outside of prison. Previously, the investigation into Eppinger’s conduct led to the arrest of a Fulton County deputy, who was reportedly in a romantic relationship with Eppinger. Given the chaotic state of the YSL trial, it’s unclear how long Lucci’s trial will remain delayed.

Jermaine Dupri Calls Out Lack Of Hip-Hop 50 Events In Atlanta

Jermaine Dupri recently took to social media, expressing his disappointment in the large brands of Atlanta. He posted a Tweet earlier today (August 18), in which he calls brands out for failing to host any events in celebration of the 50th anniversary of hip hop. It’s clear that the Atlanta-based musician isn’t pleased with the lack of festivities, sounding off on the platform.

“Just for the record!” Dupri began his Tweet. “No brands have done any dinners or get togethers in Atlanta celebrating the 50 anniversary of HipHop. That’s Crazy!!!” he wrote. Various commenters weighed in on 2cool2bl0g‘s repost of the Tweet, with some even suggesting that Dupri put something together himself. “He has the clout to do it,” one user notes. With that being said, Dupri did pay tribute to the anniversary earlier in the summer, in his own way. “I did a hi-top fade paying respect to Hip Hop 50,” he revealed in July. “Because like, I see everybody talking about, ‘We celebrating Hip Hop 50.’”

Jermaine Dupri isn’t the only person to have noted a lack of acknowledgement amid the milestone. Recently, Ebro called out artists for failing to even mention the anniversary, claiming that it’s the least they can do considering the industry allows them to make a living. “Making all this $$$ because of HipHop and artists can’t even post a ‘Thank You,’” he wrote.

Joe Budden also appears to share a similar perspective, taking to his podcast recently to call out labels. He claimed that major record labels should be going the extra mile to celebrate the occasion, even going so far as to suggest they put together a festival. “Y’all don’t think it’s a little odd,” he begins, “that without Nas and Jesse Collins, without Mass Appeal and Jesse Collins, we don’t get a tribute?” He continued, telling labels “Y’all are the ones that was supposed to do that.””

Summer Walker Shares Footage From Upcoming Documentary

Earlier today, Summer Walker shared and then shortly after deleted some footage from her upcoming documentary. The clip saw her performing her 2018 hit and fan favorite track “Session 32.” The footage comes from a special one night only concert she held in Atlanta on June 1st. The show was held in celebration of her Clear 2: Soft Life EP and featured the live debut of many of the project’s songs. During the performance she played the project in its entirety as well as a number of tracks from her back catalog with the accompaniment of an live orchestra.

Now, a documentary featuring stellar footage of the performance is set to be released. Walker herself shared a minute-long clip of the song on Instagram. The video shows Summer Walker singing alongside an orchestra intercut with clips of fans singing along to almost every word. The clip has since been deleted from her Instagram for unknown reasons, but fans managed to see it and repost it shortly after. You can watch the entire clip for yourself below.

The news of the upcoming documentary follows a turbulent time for Summer Walker. Her relationship with ex-boyfriend Lil Meech has been unfolding in the public eye for months. Despite stories breaking about another women wearing Meech’s chain and even being pregnant with Meech’s child Walker stood by her man for a while. Additionally, they made a number of notable public appearances that has fans convinced things were okay.

Then just a few days later despite Summer Walker calling Lil Meech her safe space and Meech holding Walker’s children in viral photos, the relationship appeared to be over. Summer took to her Instagram story with a pair of posts that many interpreted as an announcement of a breakup. “Tried my best to be jayda wayda but I couldn’t. It was cute though. 6LACK Gives His Take On The Greatest Atlanta Rappers Of All Time

Recently 6LACK appeared on All Up In My Grill to discuss a number of different topics. One of the longer discussions they have is about rappers from 6LACK’s native Atlanta. He’s asked about his “Mount Rushmore” which is shorthand for the four best/most legendary artists. ”If I could combine Andre and Big Boi into like a connected person on Mount Rushmore, then I would put OutKast right there,” he began. “I’m gonna jump to the new era because these two artists hand in hand have changed the sound of music today, Future and Yung Thug.”

6LACK also took the opportunity to flex just how many legends Atlanta has. “This is where it gets a little tricky because we’ve got T.I., we’ve got Jeezy, we’ve got Luda, we’ve got Gucci. I’m gonna give it to Tip because he had such an impact on my school year.” Even after discussing his Mount Rushmore of Atlanta rappers, he had more names to offer. He cited Jermain Dupri, Gucci Mane, Goodie Mob, Jeezy, and Usher as influences on his career. He also took the opportunity to express his love for hot lemon-pepper wings. 6LACK’s ATL Mount Rushmore

Earlier this year 6LACK released his third studio album Since I Have A Lover. The project came after a long 5-year gap in new albums. The album featured guest performances from Don Toliver, Wale, and QUIN. The album debuted at number 24 on the Billboard 200, a step back from his previous album which reached number 3. In between the two he released the 6pc Hot EP which featured Lil Baby. That EP went on to debut at number 15 on the Billboard 200.

6LACK has spent much of his time in between albums delivering guest vocals. Last year he teamed up with Jessie Reyez for a song called “FOREVER.” He also teamed up with J.
