Nicki Minaj Poses In Bikini To Announce Return Of Queen Radio
Queen’s royalty Nicki Minaj is having a time in Trinidad since landing there for Carnival a few days ago. The Barbz leader reportedly performed for the festivities, her first time gracing the stage there since her 2020 appearance. Following the release of her first feature of 2023 on “Shake The Place (Remix),” Mrs. Petty hopped on Instagram to update fans on her return. “We’ll talk soon, barbz. Promise. Love you,” she captioned the post with an accompanying unicorn emoji.
Now it appears fans will be hearing from the rap legend herself next week. Today, Minaj uploaded a photo of herself and a caption mentioning her Apple Music show, Queen Radio, with a date. “#QueenRadio 3/3 @3pm PST,” it reads. “Bad gyal don’t die die die | Hunnit rounds on that gratata.” Additionally, the Trini lyricist is steady giving viewers glimpses of Carnival in her home country. Yesterday (Feb. 21), Nicki posted photos and videos from the fete, where she donned a custom-made, purple and pink costume.
Nicki Minaj’s Queen Radio Is Back This March
Recently, EPIC Records A&R Vice President Fly Ty made an announcement of his own about the Queen. In a since-expired Instagram Story, the exec revealed he’d spoken to Nicki Minaj about major plans in the works. “Just got off the phone with my sister… This move is about to be so big for Queens,” he wrote. “We[‘re] bringing it back to the drawing board!!!! Call Webb, then call Nitty | Queens n***as and its all hoodies.” While there’s no word on what exactly to expect, fans are hoping this all results in an album this year. It’s been five years since Nicki dropped Queen, her fourth and latest studio release.
In other news, the self-proclaimed “Super Freaky Girl” continues to receive praise from other female musicians when it comes to her longevity in the game. Last month, Ice Spice admitted to bumping Nicki Minaj’s The Pinkprint album, calling it a “given” on her playlists. Even singer Lil Mo celebrated the worldwide star during her recent debacle with rapper Latto. “Imma be real honest, “ Mo began. “You can’t compare a Latto to a Nicki, ’cause Nicki been in the game. So when [Minaj] say, ‘All these b*tches is my sons,’ people like, ‘Oh, she throwin’ shots.’ No! Because before her, she bows at Lauryn Hill.”

Rihanna’s Spotify Streams Spike By Nearly 2600% After Super Bowl
The NFL didn’t cut a check for Rihanna’s incredible performance at the Super Bowl. However, it seems like she’ll see a boost in revenue regardless. The Fenty creator undoubtedly reminded fans of how strong her brand is during the halftime show. Everyone’s talking about her baby bump, of course, but she also flaunted the Fenty line at one point and showcased her incredible catalog since emerging onto the scene. Unfortunately, she didn’t breeze through all of the hits, but she packed in a 13-minute set with fan favorites and chart-topping smashes.
Of course, fans had their own grievances with her set. Most were not only happy but surprised that “Bitch Better Have My Money” served as the opening song. In addition to classics like “Pour It Up” and “Only Girl in the World,” she ensured that she properly represented the Navy to the best of her abilities. Still, many felt a type of way that songs like “Pon De Replay” were noticeably missing from the set. Regardless, fans returned to their preferred DSPs after the halftime show to dive into her catalog.
Rihanna Sees A Massive Spike on Apple Music & Spotify
Rihanna saw a career-best on Apple Music immediately after her performance. Apple reports that her catalog shot up in streams by 331% across the globe. Additionally, the hour after her performance marked her biggest streaming period in Apple Music. On top of that, Sunday also marked her biggest day on Shazam. Though many are familiar with her catalog, it’s quite clear that she gained a new legion of fans, as well. It’s an impressive feat for an artist who hasn’t touched a stage or released much music in the past few years.
Spotify revealed Rihanna saw a 2600% increase in streams shortly after she took the stage. The streaming service revealed that “Bitch Better Have My Money” streams spiked by 2600% between 11 pm and midnight ET. During that same window of time, “Diamonds” spiked by 1400%, “Rude Boy” by 1170%, and “We Found Love” by 1160%. These numbers compare to the number of streams she received in the week prior. Rihanna Says ‘Jam-Packed Show’ Physically Takes a Toll on Her Body
Rihanna attended the Apple Music Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show Press Conference alongside Apple Music Radio host Nadeska Alexis.
During the conversation, Rihanna shared light on the physical requirements of returning to the stage for the Super Bowl. Now that we know she is pregnant, the road to and her actual performance were nothing short of amazing.
Everyone wants to know what will be in Rihanna’s setlist, but she calls that the biggest “challenge.”
“The physical challenge has definitely been immense, for many reasons, of course,” Rihanna said. “But, I haven’t done this in a minute. First thing’s first, so you’re just running around for 13 minutes, trying to put a two-hour set in 13 minutes, and you’re gonna see on Sunday, it just, from the time it starts, it just never ends until it’s like the very last second. Now I’m saying too much? But it’s a jam-packed show, and it takes a toll on your body, it does.
“We’re excited to do the Super Bowl. We are. We’ve been working on it for awhile, and every day it just gets closer and closer to the finished product. And today’s a really big rehearsal, really important one, so that’s gonna be crucial for Sunday.”
During the press conference, Apple Music also debuted the new short film “Run This Town,” which was shot on Rihanna Drive in Barbados. You can watch it below.

Rihanna Says Condensing Her Catalog to a 13-Minute Set is ‘Biggest Challenge’ of Super Bowl Set
Rihanna appeared alongside Apple Music Radio host Nadeska Alexis at the Apple Music Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show Press Conference.
Rihanna expressed her excitement for her return to the stage this Sunday at the inaugural Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime show, the focus and preparation that has gone into this moment, being asked to perform three months after giving birth to her son, and the “scary” and “exhilarating” challenge of returning to the stage. She also discussed the obstacles of creating a 13-minute setlist covering her 17-year career, the value of representation, work-life balance, and her next musical chapter.
Everyone wants to know what will be in Rihanna’s setlist, but she calls that the biggest “challenge.”
“That was the hardest hardest part. Deciding how to maximize 13 minutes, but also celebrate. That’s what this show’s gonna be, it’s gonna be a celebration of my catalogue in the best way we could have put it together. And you only have 13 minutes, that’s the challenge, so you’re trying to cram 17 years of work into 13 minutes. So it’s difficult. You know, some songs we have to lose because of that, and that’s gonna be okay. But I think we did a pretty good job of narrowing it down.”
