[WATCH] Usher Speaks On Performing At Apple Music Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show

Screen Shot 2023 09 25 at 9.41.52 AM

Its official! Usher, the reigning king of R&B, will take center stage at Allegiant Stadium for the Apple Music Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show on Sunday, February 11, 2024.

Just as the news broke early this morning, Usher joined Zane Lowe in-studio on Apple Music 1 live from Paris to discuss today’s news for the first time. He tells Apple Music about why he’s excited to perform on “the most grand stage”, getting the call from Jay-Z, growing up watching the show and joining that special legacy of artists, his connection to host city Las Vegas and what he’s learned from doing his residency there, whether fans can expect special guests during his performance, and why he’s only just getting started.

Usher on Why He’s Excited To Perform at the Apple Music Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show…

It’s happening. It has happened, ladies and gentlemen!! It’s been a lot like to keep secrets from my own kids at home. Yeah. A very, very close knit group of people knew and were really excited about the entire thing. Obviously a legacy. But more than anything the fact that this is the most grand stage to ever play on, man. Those 13 minutes mean everything. Been on my bucket list for a long time. I’ve been asked many a times “what are the benchmarks or what are the things that matter the most I guess to you?” It’s obviously performing, but being able to perform on stage because so many amazing performers throughout the years have have graced it and did an amazing job. So of course the obsession of that starts. But man, just the excitement in this moment like to really be able to savor this moment. You you remember the first time you ever heard your record play on the radio. You remember the first time you ever heard your voice, you know, on a on a format or radio, Right? This is like that for me. Yes, it’s one of those….I’m very, very happy…

Diddy Says He Locked Himself in a Room After Kim Porter Died: ‘I Barely Spoke to My Kids’

Sean "Diddy" Combs to Receive Global Icon Award and Perform at 2023 "VMAs"

Last Friday, music mogul Diddy seized the airwaves on Apple Music 1 for an unforgettable three-hour takeover in celebration of his latest LP, The Love Album: Off The Grid.

During the live broadcast, Diddy delved into the early days of Bad Boy Entertainment, reminiscing about signing the legendary Notorious B.I.G. He also revealed exciting upcoming touring plans and discussed his collaborations with an impressive roster of artists, including Mary J. Blige, The Weeknd, Coco Jones, Jasmine Sullivan, Ty Dolla $ign, and many more.

“The Love Album: Off The Grid” holds a deeply personal significance for Diddy, as he shared how the album emerged from a period of personal adversity and darkness, which included the loss of his ex, Kim Porter. This project marks a powerful comeback, reflecting his journey toward healing and renewed creativity.

“I’m going to be honest with you, right before the pandemic, after I had lost Kim, I locked myself in the room for a year as I’m changing, Justin can tell you, I barely spoke to my kids, barely spoke to anybody,” Diddy said. “So it gets rough. The not giving up. I mean, I think that you do give up, then you have to un-give up and you have to pull through. And it’s a process. When you think about the music industry, this is not a strange story.

“Only 1% of people in the music industry survive with all their marbles and aren’t depressed and actually are able to make it through their storm. So I just pray every day and give thanks that I’m able to have today. Every day I wake up, I got a second chance at life. So I just want to vibrate higher. If I walk in the room, I want you to feel good. If I touch you, I want you everything to be good. I want us to elevate, I want inspire you, I want to motivate, I want us win.”

You can hear the full story and more from Diddy here.

Earl Sweatshirt Admits To Zane Lowe That He’s Very Sensitive

Last month, Earl Sweatshirt teamed up with The Alchemist for a new project. The pair have collaborated in the past but never on a full-length album. The record was called Voir Dire and was met with pretty positive reviews from critics. Unfortunately, it was released on an NFT music streaming platform that prevented many fans from hearing it. Only one track from the album is available on streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music, the track Sentry which also features MIKE.

Earl Sweatshirt caught up with Apple Music 1’s Zane Lowe in a recent interview. They talked about a variety of subjects but many fans honed in on his admitted sensitivity. “I’m the most sensitive n#### that’s outside. I’m not going to lie to you. No, that’s what I was saying outside to them. I was like, what if I went in there with Zane Lowe and sat down and just started profusely crying right now. Serious,” he told Zane in their interview. He continued his vulnerability from there. “I swear to God, ask them, I was like, if I just sat down, first question, dry open and profusely crying in 10 minutes. I knew I was sensitive.” Check out the full interview below.

Earl Sweatshirt Confesses His Sensitivity

To celebrate the release of Voir Dire Earl Sweatshirt and The Alchemist announced a short tour. The pair will be playing 11 shows across various American cities running from November 6 until the 27. MIKE and Black Noise are also coming along for the ride as opening acts.

Earl has been playing plenty of his own shows recently and drawing attention for some of them. In one viral clip that made the rounds, he bumps Playboi Carti songs during a break in his set which both he and the fans in attendance are clearly enjoying. He also recently brought out Tyler, The Creator during a show in LA so the pair could play their song “Whoa.” What do you think of Earl Sweatshirt admitting to being extremely sensitive to Zane Lowe? Slim Thug Is Feeling Good On His Latest Record “Midlife Crisis”

Prolific, veteran, Houston rapper Slim Thug is back with another album for 2023. This new project follows up his second release from this year, BIGslim (Swisha House Remix) (Edited), and it is titled Midlife Crisis. Before both of these releases, he put out Where Dreams Are Made. Each output has been short and concise with each one not exceeding more than 10 songs. Midlife Crisis follows that similar trend with just 12 tracks at just over 37 minutes in length.

Thug is sounding extremely confident as he always has on this new effort. A good deal of the cuts here feature some nice soulful vocal samples. Additionally, the rapper is laying down his verses over the traditional bassy and bouncy Southern hip-hop beats. Some of the themes that are woven into the runtime of the project seem to reflect on his past when times were putting him in difficult situations.

Nicki Minaj Plays Megan The Stallion’s “Ungrateful” During “Queen Radio”

Nicki Minaj and Megan Thee Stallion have feuded on and off over the past year or so. It’s never been an all-out war between the two artists but there’s been some sizzle. The alleged start of the beef was allegations from Minaj that appeared to imply that MTS had tried to pressure her into getting an abortion and drinking while pregnant. However, the beef has never reached the same levels as, say, Minaj and Cardi B.

However, the presence of a beef meant that fans were more than a little surprised when Minaj appeared to play Megan’s 2022 hit “Ungrateful” on her Apple Music show, Queen Music. For many, “Ungrateful”, which is a venomous diss track aimed at former associates, is an underrated bop. While it has many fans, it only peaked at #82 on the Billboard Hot 100. Regardless, the song briefly appeared on Queen Music, as captured by several social media users. While there are some claims that it was a sarcastic play, it still happened.

Nicki Minaj Stuns Fans After Single Drop

Nicki only added to the hype surrounding Pink Friday 2, her upcoming album, after she dropped the album’s lead single on Friday. “Last Time I Saw You” has been coming for a while but fans were blown away by the quality, passion, and power behind the new song. However, Nicki wasn’t done wowing fans later in the day. Taking to Instagram, Minaj hit up her followers with her a seriously fire fit. Minaj dropped a simple video of her showing off a pink and black bodysuit that’s straining only a little against her significant bust. “J’adior Beverly Hills” is written over the front of the outfit. Nicki completed the outfit with a bucket hat and her Queen Sleeze pendant. Fans were absolutely gagging over the images. “Real pretty in the face, little in the waist, and you know she occupy first place ☝🏼,” wrote Landon Ramano.

Elsewhere, Nicki announced that she would be touring in 2024. “Giving a big virtual hug to all these countries,” Nicki Minaj wrote on Twitter. “Omg can’t wait to see you guys on TOUR next year. #LastTimeISawYou seems like it was decades ago~ and seeing some of you for the first time ever.” While details are scarce at this time, many people are expecting a full-blown world tour on the level of Eras or Renaissance.
