Doja Cat Speaks On Sam Hyde Drama & Relationship With Her Fans

Doja Cat recently sat down with Ebro Darden on Apple Music (which you can watch here), and they had a whole lot of topics to talk about. She released her album Scarlet earlier this year, has had a lot of other success and evolutionary moments in her career, and also faced satanist accusations that she called “tacky.” However, one of the most interesting parts of this conversation have to do with the “Paint The Town Red” hitmaker’s more scandalous controversies as of late. One of these stems from her use of a shirt featuring Sam Hyde, a controversial comedian who is infamous for his political views and social leanings. The other relates to Doja’s relationship with her fans, whom she refuses to tell that she loves them because they don’t really know each other.

Furthermore, let’s start on that first point. She claimed ignorance when it comes to Hyde’s controversies, and said that she never intended to cosign, promote, or acknowledge any line of thought in particular, especially ideologies that are more destructive. However, Doja Cat also believes that people took this too far, and that her fame numbed her to negative opinion. “It didn’t affect the world in a way where we have to look behind our backs,” she told Ebro.

Doja Cat Addresses Sam Hyde Controversy: Watch

On the other hand, we have her connection to her fanbase, which has gotten a lot better in recent weeks. Still, many fans think that the Los Angeles native is not as appreciative, thankful, or considerate when it comes to her die-hards as she should be. Regardless of the responses to her comments, she maintained in this new interview that she never presents any negativity; just an acknowledgement of reality. “One thing that I do want to set straight is that you’ll never see a direct quote of me saying, ‘I hate my fans,’” Doja Cat shared. “ Not once. But it’s a really big misquoted thing where everybody is saying, ‘She hates her fans.’”

Meanwhile, the 28-year-old recently praised Nicki Minaj, so fans hope that a collab is on the way. With this and these new interview comments in mind, it’s heartening to see her move past a lot of what’s dogged her this year. Hopefully that upward trend continues. What’s The Meaning Behind Doja Cat’s ‘F*ck The Girls?’

According to Doja Cat, she lives for all of the public’s attention, whether good or bad. On her album Scarlet, she used several verses across tracks like “Agora Hills,” “97,” and “F*ck The Girls” to address some of the online chatter. While it was clear for most of her bars who she was aiming at, “F*ck The Girls” was intentionally vague.

What’s The Meaning Behind Doja Cat’s “F*ck The Girls?”

Yesterday (December 14), during a sit-down with Apple Music’s Ebro Darden, the rapper revealed that despite rumors that the track was a subtle shot at frenemy Nicki Minaj or any other musician, it was actually about stan culture (an ongoing feud for her).

“It’s me saying f*ck Stan Twitter,” she said. “There’s that obsessiveness behind it, all the malice towards women in stan culture. The condescending-ness of people being like, ‘Mother, oh my god, queen, mother,’ and expecting them to give and deliver and serve for the purpose of serving and not just expressing themselves. And in the same breath, they’ll insult that person as well as call them ‘mother.’ None of that sh*t is real, that’s where ‘F*ck The Girls’ comes from.”

Here’s Doja Cat’s spicy second verse for “F*ck The Girls.”

“Said suck my d*ck, clit, tits, I’m yellin’ “666” / I can’t believe how bold you think the line’s that thin / I’m gettin’ rich-rich-rich, how many lick-lick-licks / Is it gon’ take to feel the barrel of my / Now what the heck, darn, frick? Y’all want attention / Since when was y’all my bastard children? Go ‘head and raise y’all self / Come get ya badass kids, no need to mention / I been sittin’ on that thought for a minute, now I got time for a min / I’m never poppin’ no sh*t, I focus most on my craft / I stay on top of my sh*t, but y’all done got me convinced / That I’m the popularist, that’s why you watchin’ my moves / So check the time on ya wrist, that’s why my mama said.”

Doja Cat Refutes “Tacky” Satanist Accusations

During a recent interview with Apple Music, Doja Cat shared her feelings on rumors prompted by some of her Scarlet tracks. Some listeners have accused her of being a Satanist. According to her, references to the devil in her music or visuals are merely a creative choice and don’t always carry the meaning that social media users assume. She says that while her work is up for interpretation, some of the speculation can get old, leading her to become frustrated.

“I like the idea of I did it on purpose and it’s this big ruse to make people react, but I also like the idea of—what it is is that I love this piece of visual art,” Doja Cat explained. “I like this visual for this sound. So, I chose that visual and I applied it to the sound and people made up what they want, which is what you do with art. You interpret it how you want to interpret it.”

Doja Cat Thinks Devil-Worship Rumors Are “Annoying”

“Everybody has the right to interpret it how they want, but this whole very confident Satanism thing is like, I’m sorry – when the f*ck did I say that I was a Satanist?” she continued. “When did I ever say anything or even go marching outside the church? Talking about—no, when the f*ck did I say that? Anyway, it’s really tacky and annoying and f*cking discredits a lot of the hard work that I’ve put in. It discredits a lot of the hard work that a lot of people have put in.”

She went on, to note how consumers can often struggle to see the difference between reality and art, arguing that there isn’t always an ulterior motive for what people create. SZA Reflects On Her Achievements This Year, Reveals She Has No More Goals

While it’s obvious that SZA had an absolutely massive 2023, she may have accomplished even more than people realize. During a recent interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music she reflected on a year that saw her star power reaching higher than ever before. During one segment of the interview when she focuses on what’s next she makes a surprising revelation. “I don’t have any more goals,” she revealed.

In an effort to explain herself, she discussed the incredibly impressive list of achievements she’s pulled off. “I didn’t think I would ever go platinum. I sold a bunch of records, I got to meet Stevie Wonder, I got to meet Beyoncé and work with her, I got to meet Frank Ocean. My mom came and my dad came to all these cool countries to see me perform. I’ve had sold-out shows, I got to headline a festival,” she explained. “I’m nominated for Grammys. I’ve won a Grammy. I’m done, for me, personally. … Anything past this is so much more than I wanted, thought of, dreamed of.” It’s a fair question to wonder what else is even left for her to achieve. Check out the full interview below.

SZA Doesn’t Have Any More Goals

Additionally, SZA recently celebrated the one-year anniversary of her smash hit album SOS. She did so by posting a series of teasers about a deluxe version of the album. The deluxe edition is called LANA and it’s been teased multiple times across the past few months. Despite that, the project doesn’t have an official release date quite yet. Kanye West & Ty Dolla Sign Remove “Vultures” From Apple Music, Will Host Rave In Las Vegas

Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign have a brand-new album coming out very soon called Vultures. However, there has been all sorts of controversy surrounding the album. Overall, it is very easy to see why this would be the case. After all, Ye has gone on numerous Nazi rants as of late. Furthermore, he has been pushing a lot of Nazi imagery and has even made an album cover inspired by Burzum, a Nazi black metal artist. Ye loves this new aesthetic and he will stop at nothing to push it to his mostly gullible fans.

Just a couple of days ago, a pre-save link made its way to Apple Music. This had a lot of fans convinced that the album was actually going to come out. Ye has a history of delaying projects, and this was some sort of sign that maybe he has changed his ways. However, it appears as though Ye has gone back to teasing the fanbase. In the tweet below, you can see that according to NFR Podcast, the pre-save link to Vultures is now gone. Although there is actually some good news afoot.

Kanye West & Ty Dolla Sign Keep The Fans Guessing

It was reported by some Kanye West fan accounts that a Las Vegas Vultures rave was going to take place on Wednesday night. Of course, that would have been last night, and no such footage exists on social media. However, one person asked Yes Julz, who subsequently confirmed that the rave was happening tonight. This means they could be having one final listening party before dropping the album at midnight. Or, they could just be doing one more preview before going back to the drawing board.

Be sure to let us know what you think Ye is going to do, in the comments section down below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. We will always be sure to keep you informed on your favorite artists and all of their upcoming releases.

SZA Started Making Music ‘To Prove A Point’ To Someone, And You’ll Never Guess Who

Around this time last year, SZA joined the Rolling Stone Music Now podcast and shared (among many things) that she “100 percent did not think” she’d enjoy mainstream success. She also discussed the somewhat accidental start to her now-acclaimed music career in an interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, posted Wednesday, December 13.

“Some people choose music as a career, and they feel very certain about what they’re doing and why they’re doing it, but I was never quite certain, and I really only did music to prove a point,” she said, beginning at the 26:19-mark. After Lowe asked her to whom that mentality was aimed at, she said. “When I started making music, it was to my ex-fiancé because he was paying for everything. My food, my clothes, where I lived, and he was eight years my senior, so I was so co-dependent.”

SZA continued:

“And he was so talented, and like, he’s a designer — so brilliant. His ex-girlfriends were all lawyers and businesswomen and artists that went to [Rhode Island School Of Design], and all these things, right? And you know, I’m a college dropout. I’m still bartending at the strip club, so it’s giving — like, I felt like a lacked value. So, when I started trying to make music, it was this thing that I didn’t have to try at but was randomly good at because I’ve always written poetry and always felt emotional.”

The most-nominated artist at the 2024 Grammys went on to explain how ostracized she felt from “the kids from my little suburban town,” her evolution toward how comfortable she feels within herself now, and how she doesn’t “have any more goals” because she’s already achieved more than she ever thought she would. She finished by touching on how she wants “healthy relationships” moving forward.

“My biggest priority now is being an emotionally regulated person with healthy relationships,” she said.

When Will Nicki Minaj’s ‘Pink Friday 2’ Be On Apple Music?

Nicki Minaj’s new album Pink Friday 2 is arriving on DSPs soon and she has promised that the album will take fans on a ride to “Gag City.” After teasing the allbum’s release — and its accompanying tour — for months, the album hits DSPs, including Apple Music and Spotify, on Friday, December 7.

The album will be Nicki Minaj’s fifth studio album, and it arrives five years after the release of her most recent album, Queen, in 2018. In the lead up to the album’s release, Nicki enjoyed a resurgence of popularity thanks to her placement on the Barbie soundtrack with the Aqua-sampling “Barbie World” alongside “Princess Diana” collaborator Ice Spice. Capitalizing on the attention from the new song from younger fans, she attempted to join TikTok’s “NPC” trend with hilariously disastrous results. Still, the move revealed an endearingly human side to the superstar, which she continued to cultivate with her first album single “Last Time I Saw You.”

After campaigning to appear on Drake’s new album For All The Dogs, Nicki teased the next single, “Bahm Bahm,” before revealing that Pink Friday 2 had been delayed. Just ahead of the album’s release, she dropped out of iHeartRadio’s Jingle Ball to ensure she had time to properly finish the album.

Pink Friday 2 is out 12/8 via Young Money Entertainment and Republic Records.

[WATCH] Alicia Keys Reflects On The 20th Anniversary Of ‘The Diary of Alicia Keys’ With Apple Music

Alicia Keys Invites Teenage Shooting Victim Ralph Yarl to Upcoming Summer Concert

The incomparable Alicia Keys joins Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1 to discuss the 20th Anniversary of her Grammy-winning multi-platinum sophomore album, The Diary of Alicia Keys. She opens up about collaboration over the years, dives into the process of creating ‘Diary’ fresh off the heels of her Grammy-winning first album, and reflects on how she kept that momentum going. Keys also opens up about how her husband Swizz Beatz helps her celebrate her wins and shares how Clive Davis has impacted her career.

“I’m reflecting back to “The Diary of Alicia Keys”. I’m reflecting back to this being my second offering to the world. There was so much that changed for me. There was so much that was different than it had ever been before in my life. Obviously a girl born and raised in Hell’s Kitchen in Harlem, never had travelled like that. You don’t travel like that. Where do you go? You go to Jersey. Maybe you’re going to get to Connecticut. There’s not really a tonne of places that I had gone at the time, but thanks to the Songs in A Minor. I travelled the whole world.” -Alicia Keys

Lil Wayne & Tyga Reveal Which Artists Inspire Their Unstoppable Work Ethic

Lil Wayne recently welcomed Tyga as the latest special guest on Young Money Radio on Apple Music, and they had a pretty great conversation. Moreover, the two hitmakers discussed the latter’s new collab album with YG, their current day-to-day, next moves, and what inspires them artistically. Particularly, they talked about what motivates their work ethic and the figures that taught them to constantly nurture their craft in the studio. Of course, there are probably plenty of names that popped into your head when considering this question for this duo. But if you’re a hip-hop head that knows each of their career trajectories, then there are two names that really stand out that you’d be right in assuming.

Furthermore, Lil Wayne and Tyga thanked Birdman and his brother Slim of Cash Money Records for their tutelage. For example, the former explained how their constant grind inspired him to regularly hit the studio up, even amid tours or other commitments. The California MC shared a similar sentiment, agreeing that they definitely showed him the way towards success with their dedication. Perhaps most importantly, both rappers emphasized how their love of music is what fuels much of this determination.

Lil Wayne & Tyga’s Convo On Young Money Radio: Watch

The segment on work ethic & Cash Money begins at around the 8-minute mark.

Elsewhere, Lil Wayne and Tyga also touched upon the phenomenon of artists falling out of love with their music or craft. This is something that they don’t want to fall into, since it not only hampers their success, but it also makes that success less fulfilling when it’s for something you don’t really care about. In particular, Weezy seemed to refer to André 3000’s comments on rapping at age 40, although he didn’t seem to name-drop the Outkast legend in his remarks. Regardless, the message definitely came across.

Meanwhile, this duo also addressed how you need the right atmosphere around you to do well in your career. That’s probably why they make solid collab albums, like Tunechi’s Welcome 2 ColleGrove with 2 Chainz: they know who to link with. It was also heartening to see him give the 34-year-old props for his hard work in the studio, as you can tell the legacy that inspired them had a profound impact to this day.
