One player who has been responsible for this rise is none other than Anthony Edwards. Overall, Edwards is a player who has shown great resolve. Anthony Edwards Gets Huge Fine For Ref Comments

Anthony Edwards has been fined $40K for his derogatory comments aimed at the officiating crew present for the Timberwolves’ win against the Thunder earlier this week. The NBA levied the fine at the young star for “repeatedly publicly criticizing the officiating”. Edwards clearly expected it, saying that he was going to “take the fine” as he went after the refs. Despite the win, Edwards said like Wolves were playing “8-on-5” due to the lack of calls going the team’s way.

However, it’s not the first time that the NBA has gone after Edwards. Last year, he was fined $50K for throwing a chair courtside after the Wolves’ playoff elimination at the hands of the Nuggets. Despite the hefty fine, Edwards did not miss any games due to the incident. A number of staffers unsuccessfully sued Edwards over the incident, claiming to have been injured during the incident. The case was dismissed before going to trial.

Of course, the NBA has been getting increasingly frequent with its fines. Last year, the NBA fined Embiid $35K for “repeatedly making an obscene gesture on the playing court” in November 2023. The gesture in question was the “DX Crotch Chop”, something first seen in the WWE by the D-Generation X stable. Embiid broke out the move after scoring off a foul in the third quarter in the Sixers’ home opener against the Blazers. Earlier this year, in January, Embiid was fined $25K for making the same gesture in a similar situation against the Nets.

Despite being out $35K, Embiid has gotten an invaluable invitation out of the moment. After news of the fine broke, Triple H, one of the best known DX wrestlers, hit Embiid up on Twitter. “Hey @JoelEmbiid – I know a place where you can do that all day, and everyone will love it. WrestleMania 40 is right there in Philly…,” the wrestler wrote. Furthermore, the milestone wrestling will touch down in the City of Brotherly Love this April.

Of course, Edwards did not want the child and immediately resorted to demanding an abortion. Subsequently, the woman obliged although she was clearly uncomfortable with the entire scenario.

Following this leak, Edwards told reporters that he was sorry for what took place and that it was not in his character. It was a heartfelt apology although the damage was already done, in a sense. Now, many are commenting on the Edwards situation as they want to give the young man some guidance. Among those to do this was Cam’ron and Mase. Anthony Edwards has posted a statement in response to pressuring Instagram model Paige Jordae into getting an abortion after she told him of her pregnancy. Among the insensitive messages Edwards sent Jordae include the directions, “Get an abortion lol,” and “Just take the pills,” among others. Edwards responded to the backlash resulting from Jordae posting screenshots of the texts on social media, on Monday.

“I made comments in the heat of a moment that are not me, and that are not aligned with what I believe and who I want to be as a man,” Edwards wrote in a statement. “All women should be supported and empowered to make their own decisions about their bodies and what is best for them. I am handling my personal matters privately and will not be commenting on them any further at this time.”

When Jordae began sharing the messages on social media, she also posted a photo of a wire transfer of $100,000 followed by the texts “I will send you money to help you out” and “you got da money whats the hol up.” Despite the apology, fans on social media had no interest in forgiving Edwards. “‘Get a abortion lol’ is NOT a heat of the moment comment,” one user responded to the Minnesota Timberwolves star. Another added: “Wdym it’s ‘not you??’ It literally was you. Like you did that. Nobody else. Moreover, Instagram model Paige Jordae recently posted alleged text message exchanges with him in which she claims he got her pregnant. Now, the 22-year-old has much bigger fish to fry than his clapbacks with Adidas and Kevin Durant. In it, she sends him a picture of a positive pregnancy test and they fight over whether or not she should get an abortion. The basketball player was on board and told her to do so, but she mentioned that she got an abortion two years prior that she regrets every day.

“I’ve never once ran to the internet about NO ONE,” Paige wrote on her IG Story on Sunday (December 17) about Anthony Edwards, the Minnesota Timberwolves star. “I tried over and over to handle this privately and my efforts were ignored. I’ve bee lied to and manipulated by someone who knows exactly what they’re doing and takes no accountability for anything. Y’all always want someone to blame and I guess it’s going to be me.”

Furthermore, Paige also included a wire transfer she got of $100,000 and showed in their text message exchanges that she sent him a video taking the abortion pills. Apparently, his attorney wasn’t responding to Paige’s messages, and she was surprised that the chair-throwing player got legal representation in the first place.
