Bad news for Playboi Carti fans hoping to see him and his Opium cohorts Destroy Lonely, Ken Carson and Homixide Gang on tour this year: The Atlanta rapper’s Antagonist tour has reportedly been canceled, according to Complex. Fans were apparently notified via email after multiple delays, however, Complex‘s report does not offer a reason for the cancelation.

The tour would have been Carti’s first since 2021’s King Vamp Tour, as well as his second since releasing his most recent album, 2020’s Whole Lotta Red. While the rapper has made periodic appearances on other artists’ albums, including Kanye West’s Vultures 1, Travis Scott’s Utopia, and Future and Metro Boomin’s We Don’t Trust You, his long-awaited album Music does not have a release date after being promised in January.
Suffering through unexplained postponements has long been a feature of Playboi Carti fandom, as he infamously pushed back Whole Lotta Red so many times, fans like Mario Judah trolled him by releasing their own projects with the same title. He’s been teasing Music since the holidays in 2022, but despite releasing a string of singles including “H00DByAir” and “Backr00ms” with Travis Scott, he’s still yet to drop a release date for the album. Whether his tour cancelation counts as a setback or sign of increased focus remains to be seen.
Playboi Carti was supposed to head out on his Antagonist Tour last summer. Shortly before it was supposed to start, though, dates were pushed back to 2024. The tour was set to resume on January 14 in Salt Lake City, but now it appears that things are amiss once again.
Did Playboi Carti postpone his 2024 Antagonist Tour again?
It appears so.
The rapper’s website was updated, and now all his upcoming tour dates list the date as TBA (as Stereogum notes).
Furthermore, ticket links for individual shows have varying messages about the concerts being postponed. The Ticketmaster page for the Madison Square Garden show, for example, notes the show has a “Date & Time TBA” and says, “This event has been postponed. Your tickets will be valid on the new date when it is announced.”
So far, Carti has yet to say anything publicly about any tour status updates, it’s not clear why the tour was pushed back, and no new dates have been announced.
Fans are speculating that the recent postponement of Playboi Carti’s Antagonist Tour due to the legal battle that Homixide Gang is involved in due to jumping Summrs at a concert late last year. With HG tied up in a dispute with Live Nation, the tour is now in limbo. However, none of this is substantiated by official sources and appears to come from Playboi Carti’s official fan Discord server.
Homixide Gang jumped Summrs at BoxFest back in November 2023. A video, shot by an audience member, shows a large brawl occurring on stage in the middle of the show. It’s unclear what caused the altercation. However, Reddit users claim to have seen a second video showing members of the rap group rushing the stage. Summrs’ first track after the incident, “Check Me Out”, appeared to include several references to both the incident and other allegations against the group. “I DM one these n-gga’s hoes, I’m tryna see if the b-tch go” has been taken as a shot at the grooming allegations against the group. Furthermore, several bars directly reference the jumping and the subsequent threats Summrs made in return.
Meanwhile, Benji Blue Bills didn’t appreciate someone starting up Playboi Carti‘s new diss track about him. “Turn that sh-t off,” Benji could be heard yelling as he stormed out of the studio he was working in. Of course, the pair have been beefing for a while now. However, Benji’s reaction feels a little dramatic given he dropped an entire response to Carti’s “I’m looking for Benji” diss. What did you think of the diss? Let us know in the comments.
However, Carti appeared unbothered by the drama as he dropped a new selfie on Instagram. Many fans were wowed by the image, with several going as far as to ask for Carti’s skincare routine. Elsewhere, Carti is still building the hype surrounding his upcoming album, although details about the project remain scarce.
Playboi Carti is known to keep fans waiting, and it appears as though his eagerly-anticipated Antagonist tour is no exception. The hitmaker already moved the tour, which was originally scheduled to begin in September of 2023, with shows running in February of this year. Now, it appears as though he’s delaying select dates once again. The website for Orlando’s Kia Center claims his January 25 performance has been postponed, and a rescheduled date is not yet listed.
At the time of writing, this is the only show officially listed as postponed, but all prior tour dates have been removed from Playboi Carti’s website. The postponed Florida date may simply be a one-off thing, however, fans have been quick to express disappointment over continued delays on social media. While some are hoping that this is nothing but a false alarm, many can’t help but expect the worst.
Of course, the news also has fans wondering what this means for Playboi Carti’s upcoming album. The album, believed to be titled I Am Music or Music, is expected to drop sometime this month. This information comes from DJ Akademiks, who shared a Tweet revealing the rumored release window in December. He also called the project “the greatest thing you ever heard.” For now, fans can only wait to hear more about Playboi Carti’s tour, as well as the album.
Luckily, the Atlanta native has dropped a few bangers to keep fans occupied in the meantime. In recent weeks he’s unveiled “2024,” “H00DBYAIR,” “Over,” and more. Most recently, he teamed up with Travis Scott for “BACKR00MS,” which earned the praise of the Cactus Jack founder, Kanye West, and even Ice Spice. What do you think of Playboi Carti seemingly postponing dates on his Anatagonist Tour? Will you be getting tickets to catch him live? Are you looking forward to his upcoming album? Playboi Carti’s jeweler showed off a new “Antagonist Cross” chain for the rapper on social media over the weekend. The piece features an upside-down cross. When Jewelry Unlimited shared a video of it on Instagram, they used Carti and Travis Scott’s collaboration, “FE!N,” to soundtrack the clip.
Several fans complained about Carti’s “satanic” behavior when No Jumper reposted the necklace. One wrote: “Judgement day gonn be interesting for that young man but hey ‘live and let live.’” Others defended Carti: “Not everybody believes in Christianity. Jesus is not God to all. Stop judging and let this man live.” Another compared the move to Doja Cat: “Everyone saying Doja satanic are the ones telling playboi to drop the album.” One fan questioned how Carti is earning his money. “How he out here buying chains if he isn’t dropping any music, did the narcissist clothes even seII,” they asked.
The “Antagonist Chain” arrives as Playboi Carti continues to build up to the release of his highly-anticipated third studio album. Carti hasn’t confirmed details of the project, but with a tour coming at the beginning of 2024, fans expect it to arrive soon. Carti dropped his latest album, Whole Lotta Red, back in 2020. The project peaked atop the Billboard 200 chart with 100,000 first-week sales. Check out Carti’s new necklace below.
Fans will be able to catch Carti on the Antagonist Tour, early next year. For a run of shows that includes Houston, Miami, New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and more, Carti will be bringing along Ken Carson, Destroy Lonely, and Homixide Gang. Carti originally scheduled the tour to begin in September, but he postponed the dates earlier this month. He didn’t provide an explanation. Be on the lookout for further updates on the tour on HotNewHipHop.
Playboi Carti has rescheduled his upcoming “Antagonist” tour, pushing it into next year. The performer will kick things off internationally, leading with shows in Dublin, Manchester, London, Amsterdam, Milan, and more. He’ll then head to the U.S., making notable stops in cities like LA, NYC, Chicago, and Atlanta before closing the tour at the beginning of next year.
For now, the last scheduled date on the tour is on February 29 in Portland, however, there are two remaining dates in the midwest that have yet to be announced. Various other artists on Carti’s Opium Records will join him on the “Antagonist” tour. Ken Carson, Destroy Lonely, and Homixide Gang are currently listed as supporting acts.
It’s safe to say that supporters are eager to catch Carti live, and even more eager to hear some new music. Luckily, the performer updated his website recently, getting listeners thinking that he could have something new on the horizon. The update was the simple addition of new a “Music” tab, but fans can only hope.
This development would make sense considering the upcoming tour. DJ Scheme also shared a snippet of an unreleased Carti track earlier this month, getting fans excited about a potential new project. He was also spotted in a clip appearing to shoot a new music video recently. Check out the tour dates below and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates on Playboi Carti.

A few days ago, there were rumors that Playboi Carti was getting ready to announce a tour, rumors prompted by billboard that had popped up. The rumors have been confirmed now, as today (July 12), the rapper announced he’s embarking on the Antagonist Tour. But who is he taking with him?
Carti has a few openers who will join him on the trek, all from his Opium Collective. One of them is Destroy Lonely, an Atlanta rapper who has spent the past few years building buzz with a series of mixtapes. That built up to If Looks Could Kill, his debut album from May that managed a debut at No. 18 on the Billboard 200 chart. (The album was also one of Uproxx’s most anticipated releases of this past spring.) The single “If Looks Could Kill” also made it onto the hip-hop charts.
Also joining the tour is Ken Carson, another Atlanta rapper who found some TikTok fame in late 2022 thanks to a dance to the song that was popularized by folks like Rico Nasty. Then there’s Homixide Gang, who are fresh off performing at Wireless Festival this past weekend. Their latest album, Snot Or Not, just dropped in April.
Playboi Carti is an artist who has a very dedicated fanbase. Overall, they are constantly trying to figure out when he will release an album. Although Carti has promised a follow-up to Whole Lotta Red, he still hasn’t delivered. This has led to numerous theories about when the album is actually going to arrive. Unfortunately, no one has truly figured out when the album will come out. That said, we have gotten some Carti news in the form of a tour with his Opium artists Homixide Gang, Ken Carson, and Destroy Lonely.
This new tour is called the “Antagonist Tour” and it will take Carti throughout the United States and Europe. The tour kicks off in September and will go all the way through November. The European leg starts in November, and one of the last cities will be Berlin, where Carti and company will perform at the Mercedes-Benz Arena. According to a new press release from the aforementioned venue, Carti has new music dropping very soon. In the tweet below, the venue claims Carti’s album is called MUSIC and it will release before he heads to Europe.
Overall, this is a very interesting claim, and Playboi Carti fans are already getting excited. However, once again, Carti himself has not confirmed this. If the information is correct, then this is going to be huge. Name aside, this album could become one of the best of the year. WLR turned out to be a cult classic, and with Carti continuing his punk and metal sound at shows, MUSIC promises to be a treat. Now, he just needs to release it, and in a timely matter at that.
For now, though, fans will simply have to wait for new information. Patience is a virtue when you are a Playboi Carti fan. Sure, it might not feel great, but Carti is usually well worth the wait. Let us know your hope for this album, in the comments section down below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for more news and updates from around the music world.
Playboi Carti will be performing across North America and Europe, this fall, on his Antagonist Tour. Carti announced the shows on his Instagram Story, Wednesday. It will be his first headlining tour since 2021.
The run of shows will kick off in Denver, Colorado, at Ball Arena on September 6 before traveling to a run of cities in North America including New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, and more. On November 19, Carti will travel abroad to perform in Dublin, Ireland at the 3Arena. He’s also got shows lined up in Amsterdam, London, Berlin, Paris, and others. Ken Carson, Destroy Lonely, and Homixide Gang will be supporting on select dates.
The tour announcement comes as fans anticipate a new album in the works from Carti. The elusive singer previewed new music during a performance at London’s Wireless Festival, earlier this month. His last studio album, Whole Lotta Red, released in 2020. Check out Carti’s concert schedule for the Antagonist Tour below.
