Tekashi 6ix9ine is living life on the edge. Hitting Instagram, Hip-Hop’s known informant hit Instagram to flex $1 million and let people in his hometown New York City know that he was on the way.
“On my way to New York. I got a million dollars on me and on my mother I’m by myself here’s what the jet lady texted me I copy and pasted it,” 6ix9ine wrote. “Arriving:6:45PM. Airport: signature flight. 1 Airport Rd, Morristown, NJ 07960. Well I’m with the kid who recorded this video but he’s like 5’4 140 solid I swear.”
In the picture, Tekashi is cuddled up with a million in cash on a private jet. The post was the latest effort to show that he isn’t scared to walk any street after snitching during the trial of the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods.
Akademiks, 6ix9ine’s friend, saw the post and just offered a brief statement: “bad idea.”
The rainbow-haired entity hit Instagram on Sunday night where he invited basically anyone to come to meet him in New York City. The rapper shared the exact location of where his plane was landing. However, he revealed that he was carrying $1M in cash and all by himself, in case anyone wanted to confront him.
“On my way to New York. I got a million dollars on me and on my mother I’m by myself here’s what the jet lady texted me I copy and pasted it Arriving:6:45PM Airport: signature flight 1 Airport Rd, Morristown, NJ 07960,” he wrote. “Well I’m with the kid who recorded this video but he’s like 5’4 140 solid I swear.”
In the post, 6ix9ine shared a photo of himself with an abundance of cash and jewelry. He also showcased three luxury sports cars that were waiting for him upon his arrival.
Of course, this was another attempt by 6ix9ine to antagonize anyone who has expressed a single negative thought about him. He used these online tactics in the past before releasing new music in hopes to gain some sort of momentum. In recent times, these efforts haven’t produced the type of results he’s hoped.
Akademiks chimed in shortly after, warning his friend that it was a “bad idea” to share his location.
Tekashi’s made the rounds on various platforms to discuss Gunna’s plea deal. As hip-hop’s apparent resident expert in cooperating, he popped on Clubhouse and Akademiks’ streams where he discussed the ATL rapper’s Alford plea and how it would affect Young Thug’s case. He also slid under Gunna’s post to troll him but that was to be expected.
Lil GotIt denied that there is any feud among the YSL roster following what appeared to be a slew of subliminals directed at Gunna.
Shortly after Gunna made his return to social media and paid homage to Lil Keed, GotIt appeared to shut down his tribute. Then, he unfollowed Gunna, prompting Akademiks to describe the public dispute as a “civil war” among YSL members.
“YSL having a civil war beef on instagram. Gunna came out and tried testing the water … claiming YSL the label and said Free Thugga … and everybody in ysl lookin at gunna like ‘N***a u the reason he in there’ … they all unfollowed him right after even thug sister,” Akademiks wrote.
Though Ak’s observation was largely satirical, GotIt clearly caught wind of what the media personality said and cleared the air. He later hopped on Instagram and denied there being truth behind Akademiks’ comments. However, he said his comments were directed at anyone showing Lil Keed “fake love.”
“This ain’t no civil war. This ain’t none of that cappin’. I don’t know what the fuck Akademiks got goin’ on. He on some other one,” Lil GotIt said. Though he didn’t mention Gunna by name, he stated that he wasn’t tolerating anyone using Lil Keed’s name for clout.
“I’m talkin’ about anything that got to do with Keed. If I know it’s fake love you saying, I’m gon’ say something. I’m gonna put this out there,” Lil GotIt continued. “If I know it’s fake love — this goes for anybody. It ain’t aimin’ at no one [person]. I said what I said, in general. Like don’t say bruh name if you know it’s fake love, you wasn’t fuckin’ with him when he was here. That’s all I be mad — n***as thinkin’ I’m just tweakin’ out there.”
DJ Akademiks has been quite the trending topic over the past few days.
As he continues to run his mouth on his Twitch streams, he’s not backing down when it comes to his recent beef with Lil Baby.
He hosted one of his notorious online sessions yesterday (December 15). During it, the media personality alleged that the “Yes Indeed” rapper won’t actually fight him.
In clips shared on social media, the streamer says he was serious about wanting to fight Lil Baby.
He went as far as to reveal that he even sent the 28-year-old an address to pull up to.
“Apparently he messaged me yesterday when I was on stream, right? He said, ‘Yo, send the addy.’ I guess people went viral with this whole thing when I said I’ll box him. I will box him!” he exclaimed.
After proceeding to send him an addy in the DMs, the “Drip Too Hard” hitmaker never showed up.
“I really think the majority of these rappers without their crews and no guns, really ain’t all sh*t, I’m sorry. And if a n***a beat my ass.. trust me, I’m funny enough, I’ll joke about it,” Ak continued.
Furthermore, the former Everyday Struggle host says that Baby lied about being in New York.
While showing the DMs to the camera, we can see that Akademiks wrote “I love u too. Lmk if u in NY.” This came as a response to the Atlanta native’s “Send me the addy!!”
The media personality insists he was then sent a fake address and that the rapper even deleted messages afterwards.
This beef seemingly all began earlier this year. Upon dropping his third studio album, It’s Only Me, in October, fans were quick to point out Lil Baby dissing Akademiks.
On “From Now On,” he raps “Akademiks know he ain’t as rich as me / Brodie ready to eat for a twenty piece / I ain’t got nothin’ to say to you mini-mes.”
Only a few songs farther down the tracklist, he adds more. “Akademiks, n***as think they can’t get touched / I don’t be on compuers much, CED turned me on to YouTube,” he raps on “Top Priority.”
Although he initially laughed it off, it now appears as though the streamer wants the smoke.
In another streamed tirade earlier this week, he threatened to choke Lil Baby to death.
At the end of the day, it seems like the “Yes Indeed” rapper isn’t really taking all of this too seriously.
Do you think these two will finally squash their beef? Comment down below and make sure to stay tuned to HNHH for the latest updates.
Akademiks wants to go blow-for-blow with Lil Baby following the release of It’s Only Me.
Baby dropped off his third solo album in October, which contained two disses directed at the controversial figure. Baby didn’t throw subliminals, either. The rapper fired back at the media personality for stating that he’s richer than him on “From Now On.” “Akademiks know he ain’t as rich as me,” he raps. Then, he mentions the media figure on “Top Priority” when he raps, “Akademiks n****s think they can’t get touched/ I don’t be on computers much, CED turnt me on to YouTube.”
Though the streamer is a well-documented fan of Baby’s music, it’s clear that Baby’s bars soured his appreciation. Since the album dropped, the Off The Record host dissed Baby on numerous occasions. During one stream, he called the ATL rapper “short bus baby” and questioned his intellect.
In a recent live stream, Akademiks took it a step further. The beef may have began with words but the former Everyday Struggle host made it clear that he wants all the smoke. In fact, he went as far as saying that he would choke the rapper to death.
“I will fight Lil Baby for free or for money,” Ak said. “I just wanna get in the ring with him. You don’t got no 4PF, n***a, I will choke you to death. I will punch you in your face. You’re not doing shit. Stop it. You’re a fucking retarded rapper, you can’t do shit. Stop it. Who gon’ stand on that?”
Ak said that he was putting this out in the world before questioning other rappers who he’s challenged to scrap with.
“I’m putting this out on public media, n***a. If Lil Baby really thought it was some shit, he’d be like, ‘Yo Ak, let’s really get into it,’” he continued. “I’ve said this shit mad times. Have you heard any rapper say, ‘Yo Ak, well fuck it then, let’s get it in.’ Not one of these n***as, bro. Not one of them.”
No word from Lil Baby. But, considering that Akademiks’ previously said that he’d testify against the rapper, it seems unlikely that Baby will respond.
Akademiks and Yung Miami had the timeline in shambles on Monday as the two traded shots. After Diddy announced the birth of his seventh child, Twitter instantly began hounding down Yung Miami. Though her mentions were likely filled with trolls already calling her a “side chick,” Akademiks’s commentary clearly stood out.
“Diddy different… my N***a done f*cked around and had a side baby on his harem of side chicks,” Ak’s tweet read. “Brother Love a real 1.”
Miami tore into Ak in a series of tweets online, explicitly denying that she’s anyone’s side-piece. “I’M NOBODY SIDE BITCH LETS JUST MAKE THIS CLEAR ON THIS GOOD MONDAY! I don’t come 2nd to no bitch!” she wrote.
“Akademiks my name ain’t dick so keep it out your mouth!!! You the type of N***a my uncle doing life sentences for BITCH ASS N***A!!!!!” she continued.
Though Akademiks later clapped back during his stream, it appears that Brother Love caught wind of what the streamer had to say. Shortly after, Diddy hopped on Twitter to clear the air on his relationship status with Yung Miami, who he said was “very important and special” to him.
“@yungmiami305 is not my side chick. Never has been, never will be. She’s very important and special to me, and I don’t play about my Shawty Wop. I don’t discuss things on the internet and I will not start today,” he wrote.
Though he didn’t address Akademiks specifically, his subsequent tweet appeared to be a final warning for anyone who tries to play with Yung Miami.
“So think what you want. But know that if you do something to hurt mine, I’m gonna to come to your house and we’re gonna talk about it like human beings. LOVE,” he concluded.
No word from Akademiks yet but we’re sure he’ll have some thoughts on Diddy’s tweet during his next live stream.
Shortly after Ashanti revealed that a music producer asked her to shower with him in exchange for records he worked on for her, Akademiks entered the chat with his own opinion.
Saying that the singer is doing a disservice to other women by not name-dropping the unknown producer, the hip-hop commentator also brought up rapper Latto to validate his point.
“Here’s my problem with her saying this, I wish she revealed the name. It’s like when Latto said this…And then everybody thought it was Kodak.”
Prior to the release of her 777album, Latto shared that a man she collaborated with refused to clear the record after she rejected his advances. Though some fans suspected Kodak Black, she never confirmed who the artist was.
“It’s like, yo Ashanti. You’ve been in the industry for 20 years now. Just say the name,” Akademiks fired at the New Yorker on his live stream. “Just say the f**king name. You know what I mean? Because I don’t think you do any service to any other woman who might work with this n***a later.”
“If some sh*t like that happened and you’re trying to speak about it on an interview for awareness, why not just say the n***a name?” the podcaster added.
As HotNewHipHoppreviously reported, the “Foolish” singer recently stated on The Breakfast Club that an unnamed music producer requested a shower or a date with her in exchange for a musical working relationship.
“We did two records together. He was like, ‘Okay, I’m not gonna charge you, you know you my homie.’” But when she was assembling her album content, he then switched up and asked her to shower with him.
“I thought he was joking,” she then shared. “And then he was like, ‘Nah, I’m dead serious. Let’s go out, or let’s take a shower together, and I’ll give you the records. If not, I need 40 racks per record.’”
What are your thoughts on Ashanti’s account? Do you agree with Akademiks that she should drop the name of her past producer?
While he prepares for the release of his highly anticipated follow up to 2020’s critically acclaimed Alfredo, Freddie Gibbs has been dealing with beefs with Benny The Butcher and DJ Akademiks. He was even attacked and beaten up by Benny and his entourage at a barbeque restaurant.
In a clip for a new interview with Funkmaster Flex, the topic of DJ Akademiks comes up, and contrary to popular belief, Gibbs said that he thinks that if he and Ak sat down and had a conversation, then they would be cool with each other.
“I love Akademiks,” Gibbs said. “We gonna have a sit-down, but you had to get that shit for all that shit you’ve been kicking. You had to get that.”
Flex added that he admires Ak for speaking his mind, to which Gibbs agreed and said that he could see himself actually being friends with Ak. “I think if we were to have a conversation, we’d probably be cool, I take it too,” Gibbs said. “I’ll take everything he say, and I love it. But you gotta take it when I give back.”
Freddie’s beef with Ak started in 2020 after Ak responded to Gibbs calling his former label boss, Jeezy “irrelevant.” Ak commented “If Jeezy is irrelevant, Freddie Gibbs, you are absolutely irrelevant as well.”
Since then there has been an on and off beef between the two. While the beef has not been violent, it sure has been hilarious, with Gibbs making a humorous freestlye about Ak, saying that he was going to “squeeze [DJ Akademik’s] tittes,” and making “Fuck Akademiks” a popular phrase on social media.
