Saweetie Hints At Upcoming Acting Role

Saweetie has teased an upcoming role in a “really big TV show” but has refused to say what show she will be appearing on. “Before the writers’ strike, I actually filmed with a really big TV show, so I’m really excited for whenever they decide to release it. I know it’s going to be a huge moment. They stripped me down: no lashes, barely any makeup, I had this wig on! They were like, “No lashes, take ‘em off!” And you know, I’m a lash girl, so I’m just like, “All right, cool. Let’s get into this acting bag, what’s up?!,” the singer told Billboard.

While she refused to name the show, she did give a hint with some of her lyrics. “I’m going to give you one of my lyrics: “Cocaina tiptoes/ Ride it like the whip stole/ Benjis in my bra when my titties need a lift though.” The answer’s in there!,” she teased the outlet. Previously, the singer has made appearances on Grown-ish and Bel-Air. What show do you think Saweetie will be appearing on? Let us know in the comments.

However, Saweetie is not the only songstress getting into acting. Megan Thee Stallion is taking her talents to Netflix’s popular animated comedy, Big Mouth. Megan was announced in a 48-second short dedicated to both her character and the Season 7 date reveal. She will play a caked-up hormone monster ready to cause trouble for the already embattled eighth-graders. While the show has proven divisive, Megan joins what is one of the most stacked casts on TV right now. Big Mouth already features Nick Kroll, John Mulaney, Jessi Klein, Jason Mantzoukas, and Ayo Edebiri.

However, Big Mouth is far from Megan’s only project in the works. She has a leading role in Dicks: The Musical, A24’s upcoming musical comedy. Furthermore, she is also reportedly in negotiations for a role in an upcoming project from the Safdie Brothers and Adam Sandler. While the nature of the project is unclear, the Safdies last directed Sandler in Uncut Gems.

DaBaby Wants To Act Alongside 50 Cent Someday

Besides 50 Cent’s widely successful music career, he also is a great actor as well. The 48-year-old rap mogul has been a part of quite a few productions during his time in the TV and movie business. Recently, he played the role of Easy Day in the fourth installment of the Expendables film franchise. However, his most notable efforts have been on the silver screen. 50’s STARZ series Power received some solid praise from casuals and critics on Rotten Tomatoes and IMDb. That chapter closed but a few more have opened and DaBaby wants in on it.

After the final season of Power in 2020, the New York icon created some spin-offs since then. It gets a little confusing with the titles and the seasons, but he is continuing to develop more stories from it. There have been three new additions to the franchise. Power Book II: Ghost, Power Book III: Raising Kanan, and Power Book IV: Force have all been released in a short period of time. A new season of the third book will be premiering on December 1. Fellow NY rapper Joey Bada$$ has already played a character in the show, so why not DaBaby?

Terry Crews Reflects On Financial Insecurity Following NFL Career

Terry Crews recently reflected on “feeling devastated” amid financial insecurities following his brief NFL career. Speaking on stage at the Chrysalis Butterfly Ball on Saturday night, he detailed his struggle with breaking into the entertainment industry. Crews had played for several teams in the NFL throughout the 1990s.

“After retiring from the NFL, I struggled to get to the next level where I wanted to be,” he admitted as noted by Variety. “I tried and failed many times to secure a job in entertainment, but there was no luck. And then my wife’s wedding ring took its fourth trip to the pawn shop. When that happened, she told me maybe it’s time you widen the search and do anything that could genuinely put food on the table.”

From there, he explained that he tried picking up manual labor jobs through a temp agency. “After spending the previous night searching the couch cushions for change, I made the humbling decision to go in and register to be placed as a temp somewhere, anywhere,” Crews shared. “The temp agency sent me to a factory and when I arrived I was unceremoniously handed a broom and told to sweep the entire factory. I did that for eight hours, earning $8 for each of those hours.”

He continued: “Now, my pride left me feeling devastated. But something else happened that allowed me to reshape my mindset bit by bit. At the end of the day, I was able to put gas in the car and food on our table. I went to sleep exhausted, but I would wake up ready to take charge of my life.” In the time since, Crews has gone on to host America’s Got Talent, while also starring in Brooklyn Nine-Nine, White Chicks, and more.

Snoop Dogg Breaks Down Fear Of Horses

Snoop Dogg then contemplated the possibility of overcoming his fear by starting with a smaller sized horse instead. “Maybe one day somebody can introduce me to a baby horse,” he remarked. “A little jackass or something so I can learn how to be around you muthaf***as.” The West Coast rapper also disclosed that his wife had kept a horse at one point for a few years, but he humorously admitted to avoiding any close encounters with the animal, stating, “I ain’t finna go meet this n***a, ‘cause I don’t f**k with horses.”

However, Snoop Dogg is not one to shy away from trying new adventures. So meeting a horse in the near future isn’t completely out of the cards for Snoop. Unfortunately, there’s no set release date that audiences know of yet.

Ice-T On “Drink Champs”: On Acting Career, Past Beefs & Much More

On the latest episode of Drink Champs with N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN, Ice-T popped by as their special guest for the conversation. During their talk, the went through a lot of the most important and notable aspects of the New Jersey-born and Los Angeles-raised rapper’s career. Whether it was about his history in the hip-hop game, his acting experiences, or his thoughts on the current generation, he spoke earnestly and vividly of his perspective. Specifically, some of the most interesting points of the conversation revolved around him speaking on the evolution of the genre and his interactions with artists like Tupac Shakur and when he first heard the genre. Overall, it holds a lot of enlightening stories and insights into the MC’s legendary career.

For example, Ice-T briefly addressed how he interprets different roles as an actor, especially considering his life experiences. Specifically, he spoke on the surprising similarity between portraying a police officer and playing the part of a gangster. “We all have had enough experience with the cops, you can act like a cop,” he explained. “Like when I’m on ‘Law & Order,’ right before I do the scene, I just go ‘A**hole, a**hole, a**hole, a**hole.’ And then I talk down to you. But dig this, playing a cop and playing a gangster is the exact same acting. Exact same acting. We both got a gun, we both got an attitude, we both want answers, or there will be a consequence.”

Ice-T’s Drink Champs Episode

Of course, not every story told in Ice-T’s Drink Champs episode was as serious. One funny anecdote that he told was when he tried to get ecstasy for his wife Coco Austin at a club. When a dealer recognized him, he ended up giving him about 20 tablets of MDMA. It’s unclear what he did with all that ecstasy, but at least Coco was probably pleased with getting such a large stash for the foreseeable future.

Meanwhile, it’s heartening to see that the Drink Champs episode went well, because the 65-year-old isn’t the biggest fan of podcasts. “Artist Public Service: Doing Interviews can be risky if you Don’t know what you’re doing…” he wrote on Twitter. “They will talk to you for hours hoping you say one thing they can TWIST and hype up for clicks.. Unfortunately most podcast have now DEVOLVED to this BS. Just sayin.” For more news and the latest updates on Ice-T and Drink Champs, stick around on HNHH.

Ice-T Breaks Down Why Playing A Cop & Playing A Gangster Are The Same

Ice-T is almost as renowned for his acting career as he is for his incredibly influential hip-hop artistry, and some might even flip that table. Regardless, it’s clear that the actor has learned a lot through his time on the screen, and that it’s also garnered him much success and acclaim. Moreover, the 65-year-old will appear on an upcoming episode of Drink Champs with N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN, of which various preview clips released. In one of them, the MC-turned-actor revealed the similarities he believes there are between playing a policeman and playing a gangster. While they may seem like opposite roles, he actually finds a lot of common ground between them, an almost poetic assessment.

“We all have had enough experience with the cops, you can act like a cop,” Ice-T remarked.

Ice-T On The Yin & Yang Of Playing A Cop Versus A Gangster

In fact, his appearance on Drink Champs is actually quite ironic considering that the New Jersey-born creative warned artists of podcast appearances just about a month ago. “Artist Public Service: Doing Interviews can be risky if you Don’t know what you’re doing,” Ice-T tweeted. “They will talk to you for hours hoping you say one thing they can TWIST and hype up for clicks. Unfortunately, most podcasts have now DEVOLVED to this BS. Just saying.” That being said, it’s clear that he’s at least selective, so we’re sure that this latest appearance will host some interesting conversations and revelations.

Meanwhile, another clip from his interview was a wild story about doing ecstasy with his wife, Coco Austin. Maybe the full talk boasts more bizarre and zany tales like these, a mode that the artist doesn’t typically engage in. Still, we’ll have to wait and see until the full episode drops. The Weeknd Goes Back & Forth With Twitter Users Over “The Idol”

The Weeknd went back and forth with users on Twitter, Tuesday, regarding his ongoing HBO series, The Idol. When trolls criticized his acting skills, he decided to fire back in a series of posts on the site.

“Go cry about it more,” the singer said to one user. When another came at him, The Weeknd responded, “Bruh if you don’t shave that sh*t stain off your chin LOL.” That comment caused another user to share a picture of The Weeknd in character for the show: “IK YOURE NOT TALKING WHEN U LOOK HIDEOUS LIKE THIS.” The Weeknd replied: “Not you again LOL you thought I wouldn’t recognize you cause you changed your DP… dropping that Jennie song this weekend for you! On the same day as The Weeknd’s Twitter tirade, Variety published an interview with him in which he discussed The Idol. The Weeknd explained that his goal was for the show to reassess the meaning of fame. “Well, my goal was for people to feel that way when they watch it, you know, and that they’ll reassess [fame],” he said.

The Weeknd Goes At It With Fans

He continued: “It’s almost educational, that this is what comes with being incredibly famous. You’re surrounded by people who you’re not sure what their true intentions are, even if it seems like they’re good. You just never know. But of course, I’ve been very fortunate to have people around me that I’ve known almost my entire life, which is important, and is a gift.” Check out The Weeknd’s back-and-forth with fans on Twitter below.

Lily-Rose Depp Reveals She Sometimes Had To “Steer Clear” Of The Weeknd On Set

In a recent interview, Lily-Rose Depp shared details of what it was like working on the set of her new series alongside The Weeknd, The Idol. While discussing the creative processes of different actors she worked with on the show, she got into The Weeknd’s methods, revealing that she occasionally had to “steer clear” of the artist on set.

I don’t think anybody went full method — nobody lost their minds,” Depp explained. “Well,” she continued, “sometimes when Abel would get — I don’t want to reveal too much about where Abel’s character goes, but when he would be in full Tedros mode sometimes, I would steer clear of him. I’d be like, ‘He’s in his zone right now.’”

Depp went on to explain, “For something that does, of course, explore darker themes and has some pretty heavy emotional moments to it and everything, the vibe on set was quite lighthearted.” She says, “We’re all really good friends and we all are similar people and really understand each other. We were having a lot of laughs, listening to a lot of music, dancing around, and that kind of energy is what made the heavier moments easier and possible, because whenever you knew that there was a bigger, emotional scene coming up, you felt like you were surrounded by people that you feel comfortable with, people that have your back, and you feel that in the show.”

The Idol premieres in the U.S. on June 4, and has already managed to stir up some controversy. Some critics noted frequent nudity in the series, while a Rolling Stone piece on the set’s culture featuring one interviewee comparing the script to “sexual torture porn,” also made waves. The piece explored the series’ production, and revealed a “major creative overhaul” that took place after Amy Seimetz left the crew. Accounts detailed a behind-the-scenes “shitshow,” on set. The project still has many supporters, however, including actress Sharon Stone, who said The Idol “addresses the root of crisis in entertainment.”

Jack Harlow Sees A Future In Acting: “This Isn’t A Side Mission”

Jack Harlow says that he wants to continue acting after the release of his debut, White Men Can’t Jump. The Jackman rapper discussed the future of his career during a screening of the movie in New York City.

“Through this film I was able to gain my confidence as an actor, and to me, this shit is not a side quest,” he said, as caught by PEOPLE. “This isn’t a side mission that I’m tacking on just to keep the entertainer thing going and make some extra money.”

He continued: “I really got the bug and fell in love with this, and I’m developing a deep passion for the craft of this the same way I had in music. I don’t want it to be a side hustle, I want to full-on go after this, and I’m going after it and I’m going to continue to do more.” Harlow also described the Los Angeles set as being like “summer camp or school” each day. He further admitted that “acting is way harder than music, if you ask me; way more grueling, so I loved the challenge and so grateful that this was the start.”

The screening comes a month after the release of Harlow’s third studio album, Jackman. With minimal promotion as well as no features, he dropped the project on April 28. It peaked at No. 8 on the US Billboard 200.

While White Men Can’t Jump is Harlow’s first appearance in a feature film, he will also appear in Wednesday night’s episode of Dave. The Hulu series was similarly started by Lil Dicky, another rapper who has found success in the acting business. White Men Can’t Jump will release on the platform on Friday.

2Pac Discusses Moving Away From Music In Resurfaced Interview

2Pac spoke about wanting to distance himself from music and focus on his acting career prior to his death, according to a resurfaced interview with Entertainment Tonight. The outlet shared the rare discussion on Sunday, following the premiere of FX’s Dear Mama docuseries. The show explores the relationship between the legendary rapper and his mother, Afeni Shakur.

For the original interview, 2Pac sat down with the outlet to discuss his role in Gridlock’d. In the film, he stars alongside Tim Roth, Lucy Liu, and Thandie Newton. It was released four months after he was murdered. “To have change in my image, really, number one,” he said when asked what attracted him to the role. “This movie is really about friendship and what unconditional friendship means. I did it basically because it was funny and I’ve never really got to be funny.”

From there, he discussed wanting to star in a rom-com and launching a movie production company. “We got a lot of good things happening,” he said. “If I say it right now, the way my luck has been going, it’ll all fall through … Just give me a month so I can lock it down before I tell everybody. I just want to push the envelope and work, work, work. I want to move further away from the music and start wading myself into the acting more.”

The legendary rapper also discussed how fame and wealth made him feel like a “kid in a candy store” with all the opportunities he had. “[I] got cash, everything you dreamed of, and they’ve held me back in so many other circumstances that now it’s time to go and it’s kind of hard to keep [myself] from just pressing the gas down all the way,” he explained. “[It’s hard] just taking my time and thinking and analyzing situations and trying to think before I do things… But my whole mind state is that if we don’t ever go outside of the boundaries, we will never change anything… We’ll just keep talking about the people who did it once and told us not to go outside the thing… They’re telling me, ‘You can’t do this. You can only rap and if you rap, you can only rap about this. Then, you can’t act. And if you act, you can only do the Black films and you can’t be a rapper…’ I don’t like that. So I try to go outside the boundaries.”

As for music, 2Pac explained that his album, All Eyez On Me, was fueled by “emotions,” and that he wanted to start releasing music that he found to be more “thought-provoking.” He also spoke about being a Gemini and learning from his past mistakes. Check out the full interview below.
