Reese LAFLARE & DJ Drama Make Fireworks On “Diva Vol. 4”

It’s been quite a while since we’ve heard a long-form offering from Atlanta rapper Reese LAFLARE, and it seems like he knew that. Moreover, his latest project, a Gangsta Grillz collaboration with DJ Drama, holds a versatile set of tracks that sees him at his best. Diva Vol. 4 is as soulful as it is saucy, as hard as it is heavenly, and as versatile as it is volitional. Almost every track here seems like it serves a specific mood-driven or instrumental purpose in the tracklist. As such, Reese crafted a tight and consistently entertaining body of work that shows off a lot of catchy flows and compelling performances.

Instrumentally, there are a lot of pallets here that switch up from track to track, resulting in a lot of variety. Furthermore, Reese LAFLARE is just as prone to float over a trap beat, a West Coast banger, or more R&B-influenced cuts. Not only that, but the 35-year-old does a very effective job of switching his performance from song to song to fit the vibe. It’s definitely been a long way since the first volume of Diva, and his artistic sensibilities this time around display that growth. In addition, he taps a lot of guests here to add to Vol. 4‘s color, variety, and exciting nature.

Lil Tjay Unveils “222” Tracklist

Amid a slew of new releases and what’s shaping up to be a hot new hip-hop summer, Lil Tjay is throwing his hat into the ring at the top. Moreover, his next and very anticipated project, which has been two years in the making, is 222, and it drops on Friday (July 14). Not only that, but today he released a new single for the project, “Project Walls,” featuring none other than NBA YoungBoy. With this hype in mind, the New York rapper added another layer to it by revealing the album’s tracklist and features, as well. Furthermore, his first album since his near-fatal 2022 shooting is shaping up to be an impactful return statement with some big names.

In addition to YB, there are plenty of other features here to talk about, including ones that may seem like surprises to non-fans. For one, the legendary Jadakiss shows up on the track “Hole In My Heart,” which will surely make for one of the cuts people look forward to the most. In addition, the cut “Bla Bla” features Fivio Foreign, so there’s probably another NYC drill banger on the way. Also, Summer Walker, The Kid LAROI, Coco Jones, and Polo G make appearances across Lil Tjay’s 222, which contains 15 tracks.

Considering that a lot of people like to complain about long trackless these days, 222 is looking like a concise and tight offering. That being said, Lil Tjay has done so much in these past few years despite his circumstances that one wouldn’t be surprised if he fits 30 tracks of his experiences. Of course, that’s translated a little more into luxury as the 22-year-old developed his career. For example, he recently had a fantastic time at Paris Fashion Week, popping up seemingly everywhere.

Meanwhile, Tjay’s last project, Destined 2 Win, came out two years ago, so fans have been waiting for a while. He recovered well after his shooting, traveled the world, and pleased fans everywhere with great performances and other singles. Now, they wait to see what he brought to the table after some long reflection and healing. For more news and the latest updates on Lil Tjay, stay logged into HNHH.

Never Broke Again Team Up For New Mixtape “Green Flag Activity, Vol. 2”

NBA YoungBoy is one of the leaders of the new movement, and his label Never Broke Again is expanding to greater heights as a result. Moreover, the Baton Rogue label just released Never Broke Again Presents: Green Flag Activity, Vol. 2, their latest since last year’s October release Nightmare ON 38th ST. This new project involves all the names you’d expect: Lil Dump, Quando Rondo, Rojay MLP, and many more. Not only that, but if you’re a YB fan and you haven’t checked out the rest of his label, you have a treasure trove to discover. A lot of this album focuses on the hard-hitting, bell-heavy, and aggressive beats and deliveries that the MC exemplifies so well.

Of course, with a wide array of about ten rhymers on display, the tracklist’s size definitely hints at this being a hodgepodge. Across 18 tracks, Never Broke Again shows off each member with ease. No one overstays their welcome; if anything, some big names like YoungBoy himself could’ve popped up more. That being said, it’s not his time to shine, and members like WHOGANGDEE make a name for themselves within this collective.

SPINALL & Wizkid Keep The Summer Hot On “Loju,” Their New Song

SPINALL and Wizkid are among the two most prominent and celebrated figures in the Afrobeat genre, expanding further into dancehall, pop, and much more. In fact, the latter in particular just became the first African artist to score three platinum-certified singles by the RIAA. Moreover, they have plenty of tracks together, whether as solo releases or as part of larger projects from either creative. However, this newest single that they dropped this week, “Loju,” might just be one of their best collaborations yet for many fans, and hopefully serves as an entry point into them for many others. After all, the two Nigerian artists cook up a lot of chemistry here and show off their penchant for charismatic and infectious melodies.

Lyrically, SPINALL and Wizkid focus on wanting to have a good time with a lady, having a fun party, and some other playful and summery references. While it might not seem like a lot at first glance, this is one of those songs that conveys its easy-going message through its song without even needing to read into the lyrics. As such, they reinforce the themes with some sweet lines and words of longing and joy. Wizkid opens “Loju” up with a catchy intro before the even catchier chorus, and introduces some other interesting melodies to switch things up. Hopefully there’s much more to come from these two in the future, and with how they’re progressing and going farther as two of the biggest in the genre, it would only make sense.

Meanwhile, the instrumental creatively incorporates some faster percussion hits in certain sections that inject “Loju” with some more energy. Between the crisp afrobeat rhythm, atmospheric synth pads, and wailing lead melody, this is an easy add on any summer playlist. If you haven’t heard “Loju” yet, you can find the track on your preferred streaming service and peep some notable lyrics below. Rylo Rodriguez Proves He’s “Been One” On New Album

4PF artist Rylo Rodriguez is back with his latest album, released on Friday (June 30), titled Been One. If you’re already a fan of the Alabama rapper’s style, beat selection, delivery, and stream-of-consciousness flows, then we have very good news for you. Across 19 tracks, Rylo delivers a nice split between more introspective cuts and punchy, fast-tempo bangers that keep the tracklist experience pretty dynamic. Also, it’s clear that he came a long way from some of his previous singles, such as the early 2022 release of “Set Me Free.” As such, this is a consistent albeit elongated album that speaks to his strengths as an MC.

For example, the 29-year-old comes through with a lot of faster rhymes and hardened delivery over banging beats like “Unf**kwitable” and the EST Gee-assisted “On Da Floor.” Furthermore, these tracks represent the braggadocious and hungry sides of the street duality he delves into on Been One. On the other hand, Rylo Rodriguez also comes through with more melodic or low-key performances on tracks like “Room Comfort,” featuring Fridayy and Lil Durk. Others like “Thang For You” with NoCap and “Free Game” see him sharpening his pen with a little more topical focus. In addition, there are some tracks that fit somewhere in between like the Lil Yachty collab “Taylor Port Junkie.”

Rylo Rodriguez’s Been One

Unfortunately, Rylo had to battle a lot of demons on his way to the top, which he addresses on Been One. If you haven’t heard the new project yet, you can find it on your preferred streaming service and check out the tracklist below. Mac Miller Sells Over 1 Million Album Units In The U.S. In 2023

Mac Miller remains one of the most beloved and celebrated rappers-slash-singer-songwriters in the world. Moreover, news broke that the Pittsburgh MC’s catalog just reached over 1 million album unit sales in the United States in 2023. Of course, a large part of this success might be owed to his 2013 album, Watching Movies with the Sound Off, turning ten years old recently– which was commemorated with a tenth anniversary edition. However, fans still spin the rest of Mac’s catalog to keep his memory and legacy alive. With trends like these, surely his work will continue to inspire and resonate with listeners for generations to come.

Furthermore, fans got a few special surprises on Watching Movies‘ tenth anniversary repackaging. The most obvious of these is an original version of the opening track “The Star Room,” featuring a different instrumental using the same sample as the version that Mac Miller released first. In addition, Ear Sweatshirt graces the track with a brief but fitting vocal appearance. What’s more is that the vinyl edition contains an exclusive bonus track called “The Quest.”

Also, in relation to Mac Miller’s enduring catalog, the I Love Life, Thank You artist has some more releases on the way. For example, there’s his highly anticipated and mythical collaborative project with the legendary producer Madlib. Maclib was thought to be just the stuff of legend, with the beatmaker himself initially suggesting that it wouldn’t happen. Most recently, though, he said that he was “finishing up” the tape, so hopefully it’s an amazing testament to Mac.

Meanwhile, during our interview with him, Lil Xan spoke on the late great’s impact. “The cr*zy thing about Mac is he unknowingly- millions of kids he’s affected,” Xan stated. “I mean millions of people he’s affected, obviously, in a positive way with his music. But, from 2009, man, his music has just helped me in every situation that I’ve been in in life.” On that note, stay up to date on HNHH for the latest news and updates on Mac Miller.

Lil Uzi Vert & Travis Scott’s “Aye” Off “The Pink Tape” Is A Moshpit Banger

Lil Uzi Vert’s Pink Tape proved itself to be quite the versatile project: metal headbangers, rage, synth-led bops, and some softer cuts. Overall, fans of any style of theirs will probably find at least a couple of tracks to latch onto on this gargantuan and highly-anticipated project. However, there’s one song here that’s meant for the moshpit frequenters, and that’s “Aye” featuring none other than Travis Scott. Of course, this explosive track is exactly what fans expected from this team-up, and it’s actually been a long time coming. Not only is this a previous leak, but it’s also their first official collaboration since the 2018 single “Watch.”

As far as their performances, the two MCs follow a similar vocal and melodic path when it comes to their flows. Rather, La Flame follows Lil Uzi Vert’s flow at first, and includes some switch-ups and more high-pitched vocalizations throughout. In Uzi’s case, they bring the energy to almost overloading levels with their shouts, emphatic lines, and rough tone. They show off plenty of chemistry here, even if Travis Scott has a pretty cringe griddy bar in there that doesn’t show him at his best pen game by any means. Even though the Philly MC isn’t going full lyrical miracle either, both artists bring an infectious energy to “Aye” that will have you shouting that repetitive chorus as well.

Meanwhile, the instrumental here is dramatic, hype-fueling, and addictive. The gorgeous strings that start the track off actually change pitch at a certain point, making the beat just a little more dynamic. Along with a slow-tempo trap beat with minimal hi-hats and snares (plus booming bass), it’s exactly the kind of track to throw elbows out and jump to at a show. If you haven’t heard it or the rest of Pink Tape yet, you can find it on your preferred streaming service. 42 Dugg Does It “One Time” For The Real Ones On New Single

Since May 5 of last year, 42 Dugg has been imprisoned on charges of failing to surrender for a six-month jail sentence due to illegal gun possession. As far as recent updates, the Detroit rapper received a one-year sentence and often provides updates and new music releases from behind bars. This time around, he released a new single called “One Time,” dedicated to the people that never snitched in their court cases. Overall, it’s quite timely lyrical matter, and one that he delivers with a lot of passion and energy on this cut. More than anything, he continues to prove himself as a skilled and expressive MC with a lot to say and a very unique vocal tone to do so.

To start with the instrumental, it builds around dramatic strings and hard-hitting drums, filled with the usual claps, bells, and whistles of Detroit production. Given the fact that 42 Dogg’s delivery is ear-catching enough, his beats usually leave a lot of room for him to dominate. That’s certainly the case on “One Time” as well, where a few melodic elements come in and out of the song with ease. As far as the track’s pace, it’s a shorter track centered with a big verse, and the drums keep up a fast energy. Overall, it’s one of the more engaging cuts to come from the 28-year-old in quite some time, which is exciting for his musical future.

Lyrically, the Last Ones Left artist delivers plenty of sharp and menacing lines directed at his enemies. In addition, he amps up his vocal delivery at a lot of points, giving the track a nice sense of dynamism. Despite his harsh prison conditions, it seems like he’s still got a grip of keeping his career in check by dropping the best material possible. If you haven’t heard “One Time” yet, find it on your preferred streaming service and check out notable lines below. Also, stay up to date on HNHH for the latest news and updates on 42 Dugg.

Fredo Bang Declares “Free Melly” In New Song

The YNW Melly double murder trial has been one of the biggest hip-hop stories of the year so far. In addition to all the regular case developments, the court mentioned plenty of rappers in their proceedings so far, whether for their involvement or in reference. One that is allegedly involved in the murders Melly stands accused of committing is Fredo Bang. Prosecutors argued that the Baton Rogue rapper picked the Florida MC up after he allegedly fatally shot YNW Juvy and YNW SakChaser. Now, he came through with a track in support of Melly, aptly titled “Free Melly” as many fans online are clamoring.

However, at first glance, the lyrics here don’t reference or talk about YNW Melly’s case at length; he most notably denied giving information in the case. Rather, the 27-year-old got into his storytelling and narrative bag, providing a lot of detailed descriptions of his rough street life and taking down his opposition. Sure, there is one sole mention of Melly, talking about how they’ve been close for a long time and his refusal to talk to the police or court. Other than that, “Free Melly” is a portrait of Fredo Bang’s day-to-day, or instead some of his darkest and most contentious moments. There are some sharp lines here that are meant to hit you in your core rather than make you evaluate the wordplay, and he switches from more easy-going flows to rapid-fire bars.

Meanwhile, the production her is reminiscent of something that NBA YoungBoy would ride with pride (after all, they’re both from Louisiana). Breezy guitars and piano mesh with a mid-tempo trap beat to create a surprisingly bright sonic pallet for the MC to float over. We’ll see how the rest of the trial progresses, and whether or not this song turns into an anthem for it. If you haven’t heard it yet, find “Free Melly” on your preferred streaming service and peep standout bars below. As always, stick around on HNHH for the latest news and updates on Fredo Bang and YNW Melly.

REASON Floats On New Song “You Betta (Jesus Take The Wheel)”

TDE rapper REASON is back with a vengeance on his bouncy and charismatic new single, “You Betta (Jesus Take The Wheel).” Of course, this is far from the first notable release from the California MC this year, with Jay Rock hopping on the remix of his track “At It Again.” This time around, his newest musical offering takes things back to a more light-hearted and joyful tone with an optimistic hook and exciting background group vocals. Sure, it still talks about all the expected themes in a contemporary rap song, especially one that’s meant to hype listeners up for the summer season. Still, it’s the rapper’s lyrical cleverness, infectious delivery, and laidback flows that give the track its power.

Lyrically, the hook mentions a few things that REASON leaves up to faith, and therefore isn’t worried about: catching charges, having a Glock on his lap, and romantic pursuits. Even though the subject matter may seem darker, his melodic inflections and breezy cadence firmly root “You Betta” as a summertime banger. In addition, the verses themselves are decidedly more sensual, centered mostly around his lust for other women. However, there are still some throwaway lines about gossip, switching narratives, and his come-up in Los Angeles. As such, you don’t really know where the track goes next, but you fully lock into the sunny instrumental.

Through a bass-heavy beat, and a fast tempo, the beat makes sure that you don’t lose the song’s playful energy. Overall, it’s an entertaining and occasionally anthemic cut that hopefully hints at this artist dropping something long-term soon. If you haven’t heard it, you can find it on your preferred streaming service and catch some standout bars below.
