History repeats itself? Erica Banks calls out her former label, 1501 Certified Entertainment, for skimming her on cash she believes she earned.

In a new single, Erica Banks blasts the label, rapping:

“Hoe, I’m busy, I’m drownin’ in VVs
Hook me up with a show up in 3D
I give a fuck about that life, when they see me
And they owe me some money, man, they greedy.”

If we need further confirmation, Erica Banks wrote “I’m not with them [1501 Certified] anymore.”

This is eerily similar to this situation….

Erica Banks Takes Shots At A ‘Greedy’ Label In A New Song And Fans Are Sure Who She Means

It looks like Megan Thee Stallion may have an unexpected new ally in her fight against her label, 1501 Certified — the woman ostensibly brought on to “replace” her at the label. Fans are sure that “Buss It” rapper Erica Banks has some beef of her own with 1501 after a new song snippet circulating online finds her criticizing an unnamed label for being “greedy.”

“Give a f*ck about that label they see me,” she snaps in the 30-second clip. “And they owe me some money, they greedy.” Of course, you never know; there could be a third label involved somehow, or Banks could even have issues with Warner Records, where she signed in 2021. Considering that her complaint sounds a lot like Meg’s issue with 1501, though, a lot of the signs are pointing in that direction. And where there’s smoke… etc.

If it is true that Banks is dissing 1501, that would make a couple of things that Meg’s been right about over the past few years after Tory Lanez was convicted of shooting her in 2020. Meg’s long maintained that the terms of her deal with 1501 were unfair; as she has fought the label in court, she later accused its owners of hiding money after she was granted numerous restraining orders against 1501 so she could continue releasing new music.

It could also mean that the collaboration between the two women some fans have been hankering for since the “Buss It” challenge broke the internet could be one step closer.

Megan Thee Stallion Shines Bright Like A Diamond At LA Pride Show As 1501 Rejects Her Deposition Demands

Megan Thee Stallion markedly hit the stage at Los Angeles’ Pride in the Park this weekend. While she was happy to twerk up a storm for the LGBTQ community, her mind was riddled with legal woes. The Houston native is gearing up to face off against 1501 Certified Entertainment, her former label, in court. However, a recent deposition sent to head Carl Crawford from MTS’ attorneys has reportedly been declined.

According to documents obtained by Radar Online, Crawford and 1501 have filed a motion which denies employing Darien Smith at the label. They do have a working relationship, though Smith is reportedly an independent contractor who manages one of their artists but is otherwise not affiliated with Carl’s company. In addition, the 1501 leader pointed out that the deposition seemingly confuses “Darien Smith” and “Darrian Smith”

Megan Thee Stallion Performs “Plan B” at Pride in the Park

“The label said it has never refused ‘to produce a corporate representative’ to testify regarding its publishing claim. Instead, 1501 has repeatedly asked [Megan’s] counsel to articulate what testimony [Megan] is seeking so that it might present an appropriate witness,” Radar Online reported earlier this week. It seems the next steps will be for the “Big Ole Freak” artist’s lawyers to personally subpoena “Darien Smith,” seeing as he’s not employed at Thee Stallion’s former label.

While the latest update in her legal battle is surely an annoying one, the southern superstar didn’t let it get in the way of her set on Friday (June 9) night. Her stage costume had her shining bright like a diamond while dancing along to hits like “Body” and “WAP,” all while the crowd proudly cheered her on. She may not have plans to release new music anytime soon, but Thee Hotties are still showing out loudly and proudly in support of their coach.

Megan Thee Stallion Requests Kelsey Harris’ Texts Mentioning Her Name Ahead Of 1501 Trial

It’s only been half a year since Megan Thee Stallion came out victorious in her Tory Lanez shooting trial. With another Hot Girl Summer looming, she’s now preparing to head back to court. This time Megan will be facing off against Carl Crawford, the head of her former label. According to documents recently obtained by Radar Online, the rap diva’s attorneys have filed a deposition demanding a motion to compel against her ex-BFF, Kelsey Harris. More specifically, they’re hoping to obtain texts exchanged between her and Lanez or Crawford using Megan’s name.

The motion was filed on Wednesday (May 31) and additionally asks that Kelsey answer questions under oath on videotape. On top of that, Thee Stallion wants answers as to whether the 1501 Certified Entertainment head approved her former friend’s “Bussin Back” diss track. As you may recall, the song was previously introduced as evidence in the aforementioned shooting trial.

According to HipHopDX, it’s unclear at this time if 1501 has filed a motion to quash the request. Earlier in the month, Thee Stallion’s legal team also submitted a motion to depose Darien Smith – an executive label who is currently dating Harris. The reason he’s been named is due to his alleged “first-hand knowledge” of the situation.

On top of the trauma she’s endured, the Houston hottie is apparently also having a hard time getting 1501 to comply with her “in good faith to schedule these depositions.” As of now, the trial is scheduled to begin on August 7, leaving both sides just a few months to get their affairs in order. Do you think Megan Thee Stallion will come out on top in her fight against Carl Crawford’s 1501 Certified Entertainment? Megan Thee Stallion Accused Former Label 1501 Certified Entertainment Of Hiding Money To Avoid Paying Her

Megan Thee Stallion has returned to the public eye and the stage. However, the “Sweetest Pie” rapper has decided to take her time when it comes to jumping back into the realm of social media. The H-Town hottie is keeping a relatively low profile on social media, dropping a few sensual selfies here and there, holding back from fully immersing herself into any one app. According to TMZ, the recording artist is doing the exact opposite in the courtroom.

The outlet reports that in a motion filed in court today (April 13), Megan is accusing her former label’s (1501 Certified Entertainment) Carl Crawford of not only “keeping money from her,” but also of “hiding money” earned outside of the label’s main bank account. Megan is supposedly bringing this to light to ensure that if she does win her case against them for unpaid royalties amongst other things, she will be able to recoup the lost earnings without issue.

Meg alleged that the label’s account currently holds less than $10,000, “although they’ve deposited millions of dollars” into it over time. TMZ also shared that the musician is alleging that J. Prince and Gee Roberson are “the only ones receiving a payout.”

In the motion, Megan has requested that the judge, in the case, involve a third party to serve as overseer of 1501 Certified Entertainment’s bank accounts until the case is over.

Megan Thee Stallion Accuses 1501 Of Draining Funds

The label feud between 1501 Certified Entertainment and Megan Thee Stallion, a signee, continues escalating. Moreover, the Houston rapper recently added fuel to the fire by claiming that label boss Carl Crawford is draining the entity of their funds without properly compensating Megan. Furthermore, she filed a motion on Thursday (April 13) sending said shots and revealing that the label’s primary account allegedly has less than $10,000 left in it. In legal documents obtained by TMZ Hip Hop, the star brought up various red flags regarding 1501’s financial stability and their inability to properly compensate its artists.

While the exact amount that was initially deposited in said bank account was redacted, Megan Thee Stallion alleged that it was in the millions. Not only that, but J. Prince, Gee Roberson, and Crawford are the only ones getting paid according to Meg. As previously reported, the 28-year-old is suing 1501 for royalties, demanding a release from the label as well. However, this recent motion relates isn’t just a doubling down on the alleged actors’ fault. It’s also a point of concern, as Meg fears that they won’t have any money to pay her if or when courts side in her favor.

Megan Thee Stallion Wants The Money She Earned

Moreover, this news is interesting given that Crawford recently welcomed the Stallion back to Houston for her first performance in months in an attempt to extend an olive branch. Still, many fans remembered his taunts and social media feuds with Megan Thee Stallion leading up to this situation. As such, many didn’t take kindly to Crawford’s message. ““We want the entire Community of Texas to help 1501 Certified Entertainment welcome Queen of the Hotties, Megan Thee Stallion, back to the City of Houston,” the statement read. In addition, it hinted at a new album and tour, and stated that the label fully supports Megan.

The month prior, Crawford somewhat apologized to her. “Unfortunately, me and Megan haven’t talked since 2019,” he stated. “We been going through what y’all seen online. That’s unfortunate, too, because I never wanted to go have a situation where I was going back and forth with her on the internet. I never had problems with Megan Thee Stallion, but this social media stuff turned it really sour. You take this social media stuff out of it, and we won’t have a problem. You won’t hear me mention Megan Thee Stallion’s name unless it’s a big-time interview.” Regardless of this spat, stick around on HNHH for the latest on Megan Thee Stallion.

Megan Thee Stallion Gets Warm Houston Welcome From Carl Crawford Amid Legal War

A record label is singing a different tune these days after being at odds with Megan Thee Stallion. The Houston Hottie signed to the label years ago under the guidance of former MLB star Carl Crawford. She partnered with them in 2018 and signed a distribution deal with 300 Entertainment later that year. The following year, Roc Nation became Megan’s management team, setting off a tense reaction from Crawford. Soon, the “Savage” hitmaker publicly feuded with 1501, and both sides claimed the other owed them money.

Some social media fallouts took fans by surprise. Crawford alleged Megan did drugs, but she seemed to return the favor, alluding to him abusing cocaine. The scathing jabs wouldn’t frequently surface, but when they did, it made for a viral moment. This all unraveled as lawsuits were fired off, but 1501 has been extending olive branches in recent weeks. Today (March 29), Crawford offered another by praising Megan Thee Stallion ahead of her Houston performance. The label even released a statement that caught the rapper’s fans by surprise.

Megan Thee Stallion Gains Support From 1501

The message noted that the “Queen of the Hotties” would be touching down in H-Town. “We want the entire Community of Texas to help 1501 Certified Entertainment welcome Queen of the Hotties, Megan Thee Stallion, back to the City of Houston.” Megan is in the city for the NCAA March Madness Music Festival. The message also revealed that Megan is working on a new album and world tour. It all seemed friendly, but it’s a far cry from Crawford’s online taunts, especially amid Megan’s allegations against Tory Lanez.

Last month, Crawford emerged with an apology of sorts for his spat with Megan. “Unfortunately, me and Megan haven’t talked since 2019,” he said. “We been going through what y’all seen online. That’s unfortunate, too, because I never wanted to go have a situation where I was going back and forth with her on the internet.” He further added, “I never had problems with Megan Thee Stallion, but this social media stuff turned it really sour. You take this social media stuff out of it, and we won’t have a problem. You won’t hear me mention Megan Thee Stallion’s name unless it’s a big-time interview.” No word from Megan about this just yet. Check out Crawford’s statement above.

Is Megan Thee Stallion Still Signed To 1501 Certified Entertainment?

Megan Thee Stallion has kept a relatively low profile following the conviction of Tory Lanez for assaulting her, leaving fans to worry. However, after publicly being spotted at a surprise dinner to celebrate her birthday nearly two weeks ago, the chatter began to slow down. Even Carl Crawford, the CEO of her estranged record label, even took a vow to refrain from addressing her on social media.

Although the parties are still tied up in an ongoing legal battle due to Crawford’s seemingly declaration of peace, some are beginning to wonder, is Megan still signed to 1501 Certified Entertainment? Despite winning a minor victory against the label back in late December that cleared the rapper of any further albums under the company, according to TMZ, the war hasn’t been won just yet.

Despite her latest album, Traumazine, released in August, being her fourth album and final album on the label, to which the presiding judge over the case agreed, Megan Thee Stallion remains on 1501 Certified. In the meantime, the case will proceed to trial as Meg is also suing for $1 million in damages.

The trial date has not yet been set.

Carl Crawford Vows To Stop Discussing Megan Thee Stallion On Social Media

In late December, Megan Thee Stallion saw a jury convict Tory Lanez on three felony counts stemming from her allegation that Lanez shot her in the foot in 2020. Lanez was found guilty of assault with a semiautomatic handgun, carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle and discharge of a firearm with gross negligence (as noted by The New York Times).

Lanez is appealing the ruling and preparing for his sentencing tomorrow, February 28, but Meg has another complicated legal matter still up in the air.

Also dating back to 2020, when the Houston rapper claimed 1501 was preventing her from releasing new music, Meg has sued her record label, 1501 Certified Entertainment. Throughout the ongoing battle, Meg exchanged barbs online with 1501 CEO Carl Crawford. Today, February 27, Crawford commented to TMZ.

“Unfortunately, me and Megan, we haven’t talked since 2019, so we’ve been going through I guess what you guys see online, and like I said, it’s unfortunate as well because I never wanted to have a situation where I was going back and forth with her on the internet,” he said.

Crawford later added, “I never had any problems with Megan Thee Stallion. It’s just the social media stuff. It really just turned really, really sour. You take this social media part out of it, [and] we don’t have a problem. So, yeah, this is the moment for me to — I’m done with that. You won’t hear me mention Megan Thee Stallion’s name in the media unless I’m doing something like this or it’s just a big-time interview [and] I gotta say it. But you won’t see me texting or making a post or doing any of that stuff that would cause social media to go crazy.”

In late December, a Texas judge denied 1501’s request to not count Meg’s 2021 project Something For Thee Hotties as an album toward her obligations to her record deal, allowing her lawsuit to continue to a formal trial.

Megan Thee Stallion had filed in February 2022, requesting that Something For Thee Hotties be deemed an album to effectively release her from her contract with 1501. After releasing Traumazine last August, she amended her suit to specify that Traumazine could also be counted as her fourth and final record for 1501, additionally suing for $1 million in damages.
