Metro Boomin Shares Emotional Tribute To Late Mother On Mother’s Day

On Mother’s Day this past Sunday (May 14), Metro Boomin wrote a powerful and heartbreaking tribute to his late mother, Leslie Wayne. Her passing was a terrible shock to her loved ones, and the wider hip-hop world reacted with mournful condolences. Via an Instagram post, the producer remembered last year’s Mother’s Day, which was tragically the last one they spent together. Through a profound testimony and his hard work, he keeps her spirit alive and shared his emotions with fans.

“I remember Mothers Day last year we rode together to go pick up some pizza and you really admired the inside of this truck,” Metro Boomin wrote. His post was a picture of Wayne in front of one of his cars. “I had told you I hadn’t really drove it in years and I felt your antennas go up. You went on about the truck some more. I told you that you could have it. You got real excited and wanted to take a picture with it when we got back.

Metro Boomin’s Tribute To His Mother

“You were the QUEEN of posing for pictures and I’m sure that’s where my youngest brother gets it from,” Metro Boomin continued. From there, his caption paid a heartfelt tribute to her character. “You had so much personality and charisma as well as hustle and drive as well as humility and compassion. I know that’s where I get all of that from. If I only knew You would be taken from me a few weeks later. I miss everything about You and it hurts so much as I cry so much typing this. Everyday I’ve woke up for the past year is like a nightmare that’s never gon end.

I Love and miss You with all my heart and every piece of my being,” he concluded. “Gonna continue to do great things and dedicate it all back to You. I can’t stress enough for everybody to love your parents while they are here because they are the only ones we get. Happy Mothers Day to all the Queens out there and to everyone going through this day without their Queen just know you are not alone.” For more on Metro Boomin, return to HNHH. Rest In Peace Leslie Wayne, and all the mothers who watch their loved ones from afar.

Kanye West Shaves Cross On Back Of His Head

Kanye West was recently spotted on a quick Chick-Fil-A and gym stop with his wife in West Hollywood. Moreover, he unveiled a new hairstyle to paparazzi following him around: a cross shaved on the back of his head. Of course, this is unsurprising from an artist that has been very vocal about their Christian faith and that plays with its imagery quite often. As small as the change may be, it’s another minimal piece of context that fans harped on to get context around his mind state. After all, following his bigoted rhetoric and slammed attacks online, it’s tough for them to connect with him in any meaningful way.

However, that can only be a good thing as Kanye West continues to reflect, heal, and stay out of the limelight. The damage brought about by his incendiary comments stretch far beyond any musical or artistic connection his audience may have formed. Still, things don’t look necessarily promising as of late. For example, his Yeezy Season 10 fashion show reportedly had various references to Nazi and other right-wing imagery. With that in mind, it’s probably not yet time for him to return to the public space after undergoing a significant change of heart and attitude.

Kanye West’s New ‘Do

Regardless, that’s not going to slow the Chicago rapper and designer down, or at least that’s what recent reports indicate. Given that he recently filed a trademark for “YZY Sock Shoes,” many believe that he’s breaking into the fashion space again instead of the musical realm. Despite those findings, it’s unclear whether it will actually result in a sold product or if it’s just another one of his ephemeral ideas. Only time will tell, although maybe he wants to stay low-key and reach more niche and blindly supportive audiences with his work. Another important component is Adidas’ decision to sell its Yeezy stock, an agreement that, if successful, would net Kanye West a lot of money.

Meanwhile, other roadblocks exist on the 45-year-old’s path that seem far more serious than his fashion endeavors. One of those is his chaotic presidential campaign, which might involve secret funds from conservative Marjorie Taylor Greene’s campaign and that’s gone through a lot of staff changes. His Donda Academy is also in dire straits as teachers, parents, and the wider public seek another way forward. We’ll see how important that cross is to his public image in the future. Lola Brooke, Kali, And BreezyLyn Are The Epitome Of Modern-Day ‘Bad B*tches’ On The Song’s Overtly Cocky Remix

Brooklyn’s latest rising star, BreezyLyn, set out to recruit the hottest rappers and scored big with Lola Brooke and Kali. The Marcy Houses representative’s FckBwoy!-produced single “Bad B*tches” began to grab the attention last year due to its catchy chorus. Now, with fellow Brooklyn native (Lola Brooke) and Georgia native (Kali) joining in on the song’s remix, this is gearing up for BreezyLyn’s breakout moment.

In the track’s official video, directed by Jerry Morka, the musicians encourage all ladies present to embody the epitome of a modern-day “baddie.” One line, in particular, emphasizes this point, “Bad b*tches, mad riches / Bad b*tches, can’t sit with the — / Bad b*tches, mad riches.” The stanza repeated throughout the song’s chorus serves as a mantra.

The track’s featured artists are required to allow their self-confidence to ooze out of them without shame. This declaration is almost mandatory for the listening audience as well.

When asked about the collaboration, BreezyLyn told Complex, “I’m very excited to share this moment with my girls Lola and Kali. They’ve been so supportive of this song, so it was only right they bless the remix. The vibe on set was amazing because we genuinely rock with each other and respect our crafts. We did this for all women who want to feel empowered and confident in their own skin.”

BlocBoy JB Defends Ja Morant

While a lot of people are commenting on Ja Morant’s most recent suspension after anything gun-flashing incident, few people are absolving him of any blame. However, BlocBoy JB broke that tendency and took to his Instagram Story to defend the Grizzlies player. According to the Memphis rapper, Morant should be free to enjoy his time away from the court however he pleases. In addition, he also brought up that guns themselves are not illegal and therefore shouldn’t be scrutinized as much as they have been in these cases. Whether you agree with JB or not, it’s becoming more clear by the day that he stands almost alone in his assessment.

“Guns are not illegal,” BlocBoy penned on the social media platform. “If he turnt in his car with his gun dats in his name in his yard and somebody recorded him dat ain’t on him. Free Ja.” Others in the NBA world and beyond, like Juan Toscano-Anderson, also pinned at least partial blame on Ja Morant’s inner circle. Of course, the “MURSIC” MC is far from the only figure in hip-hop to comment on this case.

BlocBoy JB Wants Ja Morant Freed

“That man is trying hard to go play [in] Turkey or China or Serbia-Montenegro,” Fat Joe chimed in. “He’s trying hard to get kicked out the NBA. And those guys that’s with you? They not your peoples, Ja. They don’t care. This is a problem we have with our community becoming famous because the people around you, they like the girls that’s watching, they love the lifestyle- but they’re not you. They didn’t dribble the basketball in the snow on Christmas trying to figure out the Kobe moves or the Jordan moves. They didn’t put in the work like you.”

While Snoop Dogg shared a lot of memes on the matter, others in the game took the issue more seriously on initial impact. Meanwhile, GloRilla recently responded to a meme of an old picture of her holding a gun that a user compared Ja Morant to. No matter how many more funny pictures or scolding takes emerge from this, his future remains unclear. Regardless, stay posted on HNHH for the latest news and updates on BlocBoy JB and Ja Morant.
