Joe Budden Thinks Cardi B’s New Single Marks The End Of The Female Rap Wave

The titular host of The Joe Budden Podcast launched a scorching take on the latest episode of the program concerning Cardi B’s new single, “Like What (Freestyle).” However, the part that social media is reacting the most heavily to doesn’t even have much to do with the actual song itself. For the record, the rapper and media personality thinks that the record is a cool one, although he expressed as such in a slightly backhanded way. But the part that really prompted heated fan debate is his assessment that the “girl rapper wave” is over, which is obviously tough to imagine.

“Y’all ain’t gonna want to hear it from me, but the girl rapper wave is over,” Joe Budden remarked on the show after he and his colleagues played “Like What (Freestyle).” “All of that ‘Go find a girl, send her to Columbia, get it done, put her in the studio with f***ing [Mike WiLL Made-It] or any one of them n***as.’ All that planting the girl in the scene, getting the record and it taking off, that wave is over.”

Joe Budden Speaks On Cardi B’s New Song & Female Rap: Watch

Not only that, but the Slaughterhouse MC also posited that record labels aren’t getting their investments back on femcees. While there wasn’t really any data or analysis offered to back this up, he did separately bring up the long wait for Cardi B’s sophomore album, which one could interpret as an example of this. “I think the Cardi freestyle is cool,” Joe Budden conceded. “I mean, I’m gonna think it’s cool. Because anybody’s gonna sound good over the ‘She’s A B***h’ beat.”

Meanwhile, it’s understandable to think that some female artists in rap didn’t capitalize on their hype, but can’t we say that across any demographic? The wave that the media personality is specifically referencing, though, has been around for quite some time. As such, it’s up to these femcees, whether superstars or on the rise, to define the next era. Considering all the talent floating around right now, we can’t wait for what’s in store. Sexyy Red Starts A Twitter Twerk Train, Teases New Music

Sexyy Red has been busy on social media as of late. In a pair of posts this week, the rapper riled up her fanbase in a number of ways. First Red began a “twerk thread”, encouraging fans to post their own twerking videos below hers. People responded ecstatically, quickly filling the replies with bouncing booty. However, Red also teased that she had new music on the way to get her musical 2024 underway.

Of course, Red twerking is nothing new. Last year, she joined the Penn State whiteout at Beaver Stadium. In a brief clip shared by Daily Loud, Red shakes her ass as the announcer hypes up the sold-out stadium. Adhering to the tradition of a whiteout game, Red had donned a white jacket and pants along with a blonde wig. While Red might be from St. Louis, it’s clear that she couldn’t resist hitting up the Nittany Lions for their annual event. With Red in attendance, Penn State shut out a hapless Iowa side 31-0.

Meanwhile, she also went viral for her NSFW baby shower antics. The rapper posed for photos at the hood-themed event with an unidentified man crouched behind her. The goal was to achieve a simulation of “a– eating”. “Mybad if my booty stank” 😂 #babyshowertings,” Red captioned the post. Red faced mixed reactions to the images, as her divisiveness continued to perpetuate.

Elsewhere, Red also posted some throwback beats on social media. “Yall ain’t know I made this too?” Red wrote on X along with a video of her vibing with a joint to her track “Slob on my Ckat”. The 2021 track is very much part of Red’s pre-breakout catalog. However, most people in her comments simply affirmed that they were indeed aware of the song. Previously, Red had reacted to images from her high school graduation going viral on social media.

Rihanna Pregnancy Rumors Run Rampant After Indian Pre-Wedding Performance

Earlier this week, Rihanna landed in India for her eagerly anticipated performance at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding party. The event reportedly hosted countless high-profile guests. Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Disney CEO Bob Iger, Ivanka Trump, Hillary Clinton, and more are said to have been in attendance. Ambani’s father, one of the richest men in India, paid the songstress well over $5 million for the private show. While that’s certainly no small price to pay, many can agree that it was well worth it, especially as the event is estimated to have cost over $120 million in total.

Not everyone has been focused solely on Rihanna’s performance, however, particularly as clips from the event begin to circulate on social media. The Barbados-born singer performed hits like “Stay,” “Diamonds,” “B*tch Better Have My Money,” and more. Based on the footage, some commenters suspect that RiRi could be expecting another little one with her partner ASAP Rocky.

Rihanna Performs In India

“Is she pregnant again?” one Twitter/X user wonders in Complex‘s comments section. “Ion even wanna know how rich you gotta be to book Rihanna and her unborn child,” another says. While some are expressing excitement over the hitmaker’s potentially growing family, others are disappointed. “I know my eyes are deceiving me,” one fan writes alongside crying emojis. “We never gettin music man enjoy what’s on iTunes. Rocky tryna make a village.”

That user could be on to something, though it remains unclear whether or not that’s due to a pregnancy. ASAP Rocky recently claimed that Rihanna is working on a new album, though she seemed uninterested in responding to fan questions about the projects after the show. During an Instagram Live, a friend told fans to “just relax,” prompting speculation that it might be a while. What do you think of Rihanna performing at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding party? What about rumors that she and ASAP Rocky could be expecting another child? Megan Thee Stallion Stuns In Motivational-Themed Nike Ad

Megan Thee Stallion has flaunted her curves, and positive mentality, in a new ad for Nike. “Hotties, when you use Thee Hottie State of Mind, it doesn’t matter what they see for you because you see it for yourself. So, keep that same energy and attitude no matter what life throws your way. At the end of the day, do what feels best for YOU,” Megan wrote on Instagram to promote the collab.

Furthermore, Megan has been finding her niche with her power of positive thinking. A previous video about the Hotties State of Mind had some fans online calling her the Bottitheesiva, a play on a figure in Buddhist mythology. Are you feeling motivated by the Hotties State of Mind? Let us know in the comments below.

Megan Thee Stallion’s 2024 Olympics Pitch Includes Winged Horses And Some Creative Rebranding

However, Nike is not the only brand that Megan is repping. Last year. NBC tapped Megan to help promote their coverage of the 2024 Olympics. The skit opened with Megan flexing her style alongside some gilded equestrians before introducing her “hot girl” – a talking, winged horse that also breathes fire. Furthermore, Megan also dubbed the Games “Thee Paris Olympics”. However, the entire vision is revealed to be an elaborate pitch that Megan is giving to a confused board of directors at NBC. This leads into Megan also using her signature vocal fry to dub the Games the “Ahlympics”.

“As America gathers together today on Thanksgiving, we wanted to surprise the nation with an Olympic moment as big as the holiday, and what better way to do that than with ‘Thee Olympics,’ featuring Megan Thee Stallion and dressage horses at Versailles. As we approach the new year, even more surprises are in store as we continue to bring to life the biggest media event of 2024 — the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games,” Jenny Storms, NBC Universal’s CMO Of Sports And Entertainment, told Rolling Stone about the promo spot.

Nicki Minaj Kicks Off “Pink Friday 2” Tour In Oakland: See The Barbz’ Reactions

Nicki Minaj officially kicked off her Pink Friday 2 tour on Friday (March 1) in Oakland, California, and fans couldn’t be happier with the results. Moreover, the Barbz took to social media to share not just their hype for the trek, but in the case of those who attended, some high praise. For example, many folks remarked on the extensive and versatile setlist, whereas others lauded the production design, outfit changes, Monica’s mid-show slot, and much more. Most importantly, though, die-hards are very happy to see the Trinidadian MC’s excited and engaged energy during this first show, and hope it continues for the rest of the journey.

Furthermore, it was mostly a very wholesome affair, but the Barbz let some of their online crusading into the building, too. For example, fans started a “F**k Latto” chant during this Oakland tour-opening show, alluding to Latto and Nicki Minaj’s beef in the past. It’s disheartening to see this feud bleed into live spaces, especially because it opens the floodgates for more combative scenarios moving forward. But die-hards were happy to chant along, and hopefully these femcees flaunt their artistry more competitively as a result.

Barbz React To The Pink Friday 2 Tour’s Opening Night

As the first female rapper to hit a billion streams in 2024, Nicki Minaj has a lot to celebrate, and a lot of material to showcase. From what setlist.fm indicates, this first show was obviously very dominant with Pink Friday 2, but contained plenty of beloved classics and gems across her catalog. Although the 41-year-old has a lot of new endeavors and releases to promote and hone, we’re sure that this must be a cathartic moment for Barbz everywhere who’ve been waiting to see her for so long. With that in mind, you can see it for yourself and check out more fan reactions down below.

Meanwhile, this unfortunately coincided with a new lawsuit against her and her husband Kenneth Petty for alleged backstage assault. This certainly paints the Pink Friday 2 tour in a different light, yet it’s important to note that isolated (and especially alleged) incidents are not reflective of any wider patterns. Still, it’s not the first accusation thrown their way, so we’ll see what comes of it. On that note, come back to HNHH for the latest news and updates on Nicki Minaj.

ScHoolboy Q & Ab-Soul Have A Fan-Favorite With “Foux”

ScHoolboy Q has finally given us BLUE LIPS and we are very pleased to say that it has delivered and then some. The California rapper almost always seems to be at his peak when he experiments with instrumentals, cadences, lyrics, and flows. Q does that throughout the duration of the LP and you can definitely tell five years were needed to craft this body of work. While it may not be for everyone, there is no doubt that this project was worth the wait. One highlight we had to cover is ScHoolboy Q and Ab-Soul’s “Foux.”

This one of the more introspective cuts here, as it sees each TDE talent dealing with internal struggles. Q’s hook is infectious but also quite gloomy. He quickly raps over the scattering drum patterns, howling background vocals, and somber piano keys. Incredibly, outside of some Black Hippy cuts, this the first time we have heard Q and Ab-Soul on a song together since 2012 with “Druggys Wit H**s Again.”

Listen To “Foux” By ScHoolboy Q & Ab-Soul

In fact, ScHoolboy references the first of those two songs, “Druggy’s Wit H**s.” That landed on his debut, Setbacks, and you can hear the callback on the bridge. Ab-Soul does not disappoint either. “Shot for the moon, now I need my gat
Cocaine is a hell of a drug / And my year been Heaven above / But ’nuff is just never enough / I’m stuck when I should be levelin’ up
.”

What are your thoughts on this brand-new song, “Foux,” by ScHoolboy Q? Is this the best track from BLUE LIPS, why or why not? What is your favorite element of the song and why? Is this the album of the year so far, why or why not? Who had the stronger performance? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Mouth full of drugs and it be like that
I done ran out of faith and it be like that (Be like that)
Hid many times and it be like that (Be like that)
