Prosecutors Deciding if Charges Should be Pursued Against Nicki Minaj in Alleged Assault of Former Manager

Nicki Minaj could be facing criminal charges in association with a lawsuit from her former manager.

In case you missed it, Nicki’s former day-to-day manager, Brandon Garrett, filed a lawsuit claiming the rapper assaulted him during a heated confrontation earlier this year.

But now, the Detroit Police have issued a warrant request to the Wayne County’s Prosecutor’s Office to investigate potential criminal charges. The prosecutor will decide the charges.

According to the lawsuit obtained by TMZ, Garrett alleges the incident occurred following Nicki’s April 2024 concert in Detroit. He claims Minaj sent him on an errand and, upon his return, summoned him to her dressing room, where she confronted her team over their responsibilities.

Garrett alleges that the conflict escalated when Minaj learned he had previously delegated a task—picking up one of her prescriptions—to another individual. According to the suit, Minaj erupted, screaming, “Are you f***ing crazy having him pick up my prescription? You have lost your f***ing mind! If my husband were here, he would knock out your f***ing teeth. You’re a dead man walking. You just f***ed up your whole life, and you will never be anyone. I’ll make sure of it.”

The lawsuit claims Nicki then struck Garrett across the right side of his face with an open hand, allegedly causing his head to snap back and knocking his hat to the floor. Security staff reportedly intervened, but Garrett says Minaj struck his wrist, causing him to drop documents he was holding.

Garrett says he was ordered to leave the dressing room, where he retrieved his belongings and locked himself in a nearby restroom. He claims he stayed there for hours, nursing a sore face and wrist, while calling his fiancée to explain the situation.

The lawsuit also alleges that Minaj’s team left Garrett stranded in Detroit, denying him access to the tour bus heading back to the tour’s Chicago base.

Garrett is suing for assault, battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress, seeking monetary damages.

Nicki Minaj’s attorney, Judd Burstein, responded to the allegations, stating, “At this time, no complaint has been served upon Mrs. Petty, and therefore, we are unaware of the specific allegations. However, if the lawsuit is as reported by TMZ, it is completely false and frivolous. We are confident that the matter brought by this ex-assistant will be resolved swiftly in Mrs. Petty’s favor.”

Master P Helps Reopen Bourbon Street After New Year’s Day Terror Attack

Master P stood next to New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell for the reopening of Bourbon Street. The event was the first time the storied street had been reopened since the New Year’s Day terrorist attack that killed 14 people.

In the video, Master P strolls the historic street and delivers a message: “The love that’s out here is incredible cause this evil act that happened, it can’t stop the Lord’s plan.”

Last year, Master P announced New Orleans would have their first-ever Walk of Fame and Lil Wayne would be the fist inducted. Lil Wayne received his flowers on stage at Lil Weezyana Fest. During the massive show, Wayne received the mayor’s key to the city of New Orleans before being honored by Master P.

“You made history my brother, what we about to for you next, February 6 on Canal Street we going to start the NOLA walk of fame and you the first one,” Master P said.

Master P also announced that February 6 and 7 would be Lil Wayne’s day in the city. You can see the moment above.

SZA’s ‘SOS’ Breaks Chart Records with 12th Week at No. 1

SZA’s SOS has made history, logging its 12th nonconsecutive week atop the Billboard 200. The album, bolstered by its recent deluxe LANA edition, earned 130,000 equivalent album units in the week ending January 2, including 125,500 streaming units (166.31 million on-demand streams), 4,000 album sales, and 500 track equivalent units.

This milestone makes SOS the first R&B/hip-hop album by a woman to spend 12 weeks at No. 1 in 38 years, a feat last achieved by Whitney Houston’s self-titled album in 1986, which reigned for 14 weeks.

Kendrick Lamar ascends to No. 2 on the chart, followed by Sabrina Carpenter at No. 3, the Wicked film soundtrack at No. 4, and Billie Eilish rounding out the top five.

Dwight Howard is an engaged man who won’t let past issues impact his current love. In case you missed it, the NBA star and his partner, Amy Luciani, recently shared heartwarming posts on Instagram, showcasing their engagement and their excitement for what’s to come.

Howard’s Instagram post featured a romantic clip of the couple on a boat, captioned, “POV you found her perfect person.” Luciani also shared photos of their engagement celebration, including a champagne toast and a sweet kiss on the cheek. Her caption read, “After all that … still committed,” seemingly referencing past challenges.

After fans attempted to warn Luciani about his past, Howard clapped back. “This person who wrote that comment will never get blessed like they’re supposed to. Fox Sports Employee Accuses Skip Bayless of Attempting to Pay Her $1.5M for Sex in Bombshell Lawsuit

Skip Bayless is the subject of a highlighted lawsuit for contributing to a toxic work environment.

In a 42-page lawsuit obtained by Front Office Sports, Bayless, along with Joy Taylor, Fox Executives, and more, have been accused by Noushin Faraji, who worked at the network as a hairstylist from 2012 to this past August.

According to Faraji, during her tenure, she experienced “a misogynistic, racist, and ableist workplace where executives and talent were allowed to physically and verbally abuse workers with impunity.”

Additionally, Faraji stated when the conditions were highlighted, the network responded against her and others, while those who created the environment were promoted.

As for Bayless, Faraji stated the former Undisputed host offered her $1.5 million for sex. She attempted to sidestep the advance, pointing out her ailments, but Bayless would try to have sex with the woman again just a week later.

Faraji asked about Bayless’ wife, to which he allegedly responded, “Aren’t you Muslim? Doesn’t your dad have three to four wives?” Maraji then alerted Bayless her father was dead.

QueenzFlip Defends Joe Budden After Lewdness Charge: ‘Things be Racially Motivated in My Opinion

QueenzFlip is holding down Joe Budden in light of his recent arrest for lewdness. This comes after Budden himself addressed the backlash over his recent indecent exposure charge, an incident that has sparked reactions from fans and law enforcement alike.

On Dec. 4, Budden was charged for allegedly standing naked outside a neighbor’s door in Edgewater, New Jersey, and attempting to enter the neighbor’s apartment. The situation, which might have gone unnoticed, only came to light when the Edgewater Police Department publicly addressed it on Dec. 31. Despite the seriousness of the charge, Budden tried to brush it off on social media, responding to the public outcry with his usual laid-back approach.

On X (formerly Twitter), he tweeted, “Y’all so dramatic lol,” attempting to downplay the incident. On Instagram, Budden shared a meme featuring former NBA player Jeff Teague’s shocked expression, paired with a caption that implied the situation had been blown out of proportion. However, the fact that recent episodes of The Joe Budden Podcast were recorded at co-host Parks’ home instead of Budden’s apartment suggests that there may be more to the story.

TMZ tracked down Flip who pleaded for people to let Budden enjoy his New Year and he was off “being rich somewhere.”

“I don’t know what’s going on, to be honest, I don’t,” Flip said. “What I’m saying is that the movement is strong. He’s ‘the podfather’ for a reason.”

He added, “A lot of times you hear things and this is the industry that we’re in, where people try to put smut and do things in your name, and a lot of things be racially motivated in my opinion, you know what I mean? But I don’t want to get into that because it’s none of my business and I don’t really know what’s going on.”

In a candid moment on his podcast, Budden gave his side of the events, saying, “I just sleepwalked somewhere that I shouldn’t have sleepwalked. And you know how I sleep: butt-a** [naked]! Good naked sleepwalking, I just did it again [laughs].” His lighthearted tone reflected his attempt to minimize the drama surrounding the incident.

However, Budden’s legal team is taking a more serious stance. His attorney, Nima Ameri, released a statement regarding the charges to TMZ. “Mr. Budden is saddened by Police Chief Martin’s press release,” Ameri said. “Mr. Budden has been waiting weeks for his cross complaints to be processed, which include substantially more serious charges [including] possible felony charges against the persons behind these charges against him.”

Budden and his team believe the actions of Edgewater Police Chief Martin are part of a publicity stunt. “The Chief has, in our opinion, sat on those [complaints] but instead used his time to gain some free publicity for himself,” the statement read. “Chief Martin should seek publicity by doing notable policing, not inflaming disorderly person allegations. The allegations against Mr. Budden are a minor charge, not even resulting in an arrest. A charge Mr. Budden is looking forward to beating in court on the merits, not in the press. The Chief’s comments are reckless, and, in our opinion, racially motivated.”

As the legal process continues, Budden seems resolute in his belief that the charge against him is exaggerated. Only time will tell whether the public agrees with him or not as this case unfolds. For now, Joe Budden is maintaining his signature nonchalant demeanor, even in the face of what has become one of the more bizarre headlines of the year.

Speaking with The New York Times, Bad Bunny revealed the album is his most “Puerto Rican” yet. “Everyone one of them is Puerto Rican and there for a reason,” he said. “When I listened to them I felt like I was there in Santurce, hanging out.”

50 Cent has responded to a Vegas entertainment critic who called his Las Vegas residency the worst in the city’s history.

In a video, 50 is seen with the same hand movements, and we get additional details. The review highlights bad theater sound, hypemen louder than 50, and delivering just 84 minutes of a performance. Ultimately, the review states that the mogul didn’t want to be there.
