Drake may have had a rollercoaster in 2024, but the rap star’s sales stayed the course as he is reportedly the best-selling rapper of 2024, with 8 million sold. The milestone marks the 6 God’s tenth consecutive time as the year’s best. Chart Data shared the record on Sunday (Jan. 5). In 2024, Drake’s new releases included a series of diss tracks, like “Family Matters,” his 100gb series, and new collaborations with popular acts such as Sexyy Red, Gordo, 4Batz, and Camila Cabello. Among the many new songs, it was alluded that his anticipated joint album with PartyNextDoor was set to be released last November.

The announcement sparked fan reactions across social media with praise and mention of Drizzy’s rival, Kendrick Lamar. An X user tweeted, “Damn Kendrick, who had his best year, still couldn’t beat Drake in sales even tho Drake didn’t drop an album lmao.” Another tweeted, “Dang, I keep hearing a lot about this guy named Big Me, but he never shows up in any of the lists.” Others believe that Drake’s reign won’t end soon. “Drake is about to have an even bigger year this year… If he drops a solo album, numbers will be insane,” tweeted a user on X.

Drake Best-Selling Rapper For 10th Year In A Row

On Friday, Drizzy shared a new freestyle produced by Conductor Williams. Called “Fighting Irish,” the 6 God shares his disappointment in NBA icon LeBron James during the beef with Kendrick Lamar. Drizzy raps, “The world fell in love with the gimmicks / Even my brothers got tickets / Seemed like they loved every minute.”

Fans immediately pointed out the diss to James and Sacramento Kings small forward Demar DeRozan. DeRozan appeared in Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” music video after being mentioned in the massive hit. The freestyle has been removed from platforms by Universal Music Group. Drizzy teased more Conductor Williams collaborations on the way. His Anita Max Win Tour begins in February.

In an Instagram Live, Curry claims that Diddy and Jay-Z’s current situation results from how they treated others in the past to become successful. In his rant, Curry says, “You know why they going through what they going through? Because you don’t do God’s children that way. They crazy.”

Not looking to talk about the moguls much, Curry also says, “Don’t think that Jay Z and Puff are the biggest mobiles ever. They are great people, but what you wanna look at is the great people that were able to become because of some people, so we gonna leave them there. How many people could’ve been greater that weren’t made because of their empowerment?”

Curry’s Live received mixed reactions from social media. Some disagreed with the ex-rapper’s claims, while others claimed the moguls were finished. A user commented, “Grown men really want their hands held. Im really starting to understand Logan from succession each day more and more.” About Diddy and Jay-Z, a user commented, “They are both finished. I don’t know why people don’t get it yet. Jay Z will be locked up soon. Most likely after around the time of Diddy’s sentencing.” A user defended Jay-Z’s contribution to other’s careers. They commented: “Jay-Z is an example of someone who actually helped all the people around him. All his real friends are rich & part of his empire. Adam22 Confronts Wack100 About Being “Unapologetic” Over Recent Assault At No Jumper Studios

Adam22 and Wack 100 addressed the viral brawl that took place at the No Jumper Studios last week in the latest episode of their podcast. In a confrontation, Adam accuses Wack of being the “mastermind” behind the violent attack and sensationalizes it based on Wack’s demeanor. “I would start with the fact that there was a pretty vicious assault that took place at my facility, and you [Wack] seem weirdly unapologetic about it,” says Adam to Wack. “You don’t seem terribly concerned about it. Whereas for me, this has been a significant source of bad press as well as a potential legal risk..”

Wack 100 defended himself against Adam’s assumption, saying, “Bad press?! Bro, my mother, my grandmother, R&B’s ex-husband, we’re sorry for Wack getting his a$$-whopped. I’m the one now that got his a$$-whopped. Talking about bad press.” Wack is claiming that social media believed it was him being assaulted and stripped during the melee outside of the No Jumper Studios. It has been proven that it was not Wack being assaulted in the viral footage.

Adam22 & Wack100 Argues About Viral Brawl At No Jumper

Adam proceeds to identify Wack with “Main Character Syndrome.” “See, you making it about the fact that some people thought it was you getting beat up is important,” Adam replied. “That’s an important thing to highlight here. Who the f*ck cares that people thought you got beat up? Obviously, that’s not even true. But you’re posting about this nonstop. Making it all about yourself… It’s about that the assault took place at my facility in the first place.”

The heated exchange would continue, with Wack denying that he excessively promoted the assault footage. Prior to the podcast, Adam22 issued an official statement that banned all parties involved from the No Jumper Studios. The podcaster expressed that he does not condone any violence at his facility. With the belief he was among the banned, Wack 100 shared an Instagram post that stated he and Adam22 have a contract and he will be at No Jumper as scheduled to podcast and honor the contract’s agreements.

Bad Bunny Doesn’t Care That People ‘Miss A Lot’ Of The Meaning Behind His Music, And He Explained Why

Today (January 5), Bad Bunny’s sixth studio album, Debí Tirar Más Fotos, hit streaming platforms. But before you dive into the 17-track body of work, just know some of the lyrics may be lost in translation—even if you are a Spanish speaker.

During an interview with The New York Times, Bad Bunny issued the forewarning. As the “Una Velita” musician discussed the heavy political messaging throughout on Debí Tirar Más Fotos which is likely to be misunderstood by non-Puerto Ricans, and he doesn’t care to clarify anything.

“There are a lot of political lines that you can’t tell are political,” he said. “The song ‘Bokete’ — it’s a song about a love story but the whole analogy of boquete is — in Puerto Rico there are a lot of holes in the street. It’s not a song about potholes, but… There are a lot of things like that.”

When asked about the confusion his lyrics may cause due to Puerto Rico’s unique dialect of Spanish, Bad Bunny acknowledged the interpretive difficulty. “People miss a lot,” he said. “Actually, there are even a lot of Latinos who speak Spanish who are missing a lot because I’m singing in Puerto Rican slang. After ‘Un Verano Sin Ti,’ it was the biggest spot of my career and I came with this totally different album — “Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana” — with a lot of bars and Puerto Rican analogies, and I’m 100 percent sure that people missed the best parts of that album. Definitely.”

But Bad Bunny laughed it off, singing: “I doooooon’ttttt caaaaaaaare.”

Adding to the tension, Blood claimed that Gloss Up attempted to file a restraining order against her without cause. In response, Blood has reportedly filed battery charges against the rapper. Gloss Up appeared to address the accusations indirectly through her Instagram stories, writing cryptically, “Smiling so hard in a mugshot about my livelihood.” The remark has left fans speculating about her perspective on the incident.

Gloss released her latest single, “Robbery,” last November. In May 2024, she released her latest EP, Not Ya Girl: Act 1, on Quality Control Music. The EP features Hunxho, Skilla Baby, and Jacquees. We know that numbers don’t really matter and that Lil Baby and Bad Bunny’s pride in their respective albums is so much more important. Still, this is a particularly interesting chart battle because it’s honestly near impossible to compare both releases. Baby dropped on a Friday for a full tracking week and a deluxe coming out soon, whereas Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio dropped on a Sunday (Three Kings Day Eve) with a shortened tracking week, a longer tracklist, and a larger fanbase. As such, this could really go either way, and both artists should receive their due flowers for these accomplishments.

Most importantly, props to both Lil Baby and Bad Bunny for starting 2025 on a hot note, dropping these quality records, and for not being afraid to hit the ground running. Whether you’re bumping “Dum, Dumb And Dumber” or “PIToRRO DE COCO,” these new year’s treats are pretty awesome.

Furthermore, Megan Thee Stallion herself hasn’t really said anything about this, and the inciting incident that seems to have triggered Jasmine Elizabethh’s accusations wasn’t even of her own doing. Still, we don’t want to jump to those conclusions as fast, as we are in no place to assume how angry or forgiving any of these individuals should be when it comes to this supposed love triangle.

Also, Megan Thee Stallion has enough to deal with already, as her legal situation with the other divisive Tory in her life, Tory Lanez, continues to develop. We obviously don’t want to equate those situations to each other, but the name coincidence is too easy to omit.
