MTV News Isn’t Quite Gone Forever, Here’s How You Can View Old Posts From The Site

Earlier this week, music fans across the internet were devastated to learn that Paramount Global was shutting down the MTV News website, “as part of broader website changes across Paramount.” That meant that an archive of music history, from the rise of blog rap to the breakouts of international superstar artists like Taylor Swift, Lana Del Rey, Drake, Kendrick Lamar, and more was just gone in an instant, all because someone flipped a switch.

However, it’s not all bad news: Today, the Internet Archive announced it had created a directory of MTV News posts via the Wayback Machine. The index contains 460,575 articles previously published at MTV.com/news — here’s how you can access it.

This link leads to the Wayback Machine with the MTV News prompt already queued up and ready to go. These include posts about the fashion of the 2003 Grammy Awards, MTV’s announcement of the split between Taylors Swift and Lautner, and more.

In addition to MTV News, Paramount also shut down the sites for CMT, Comedy Central, TV Land and Paramount Network. This was an attempt to direct users to Paramount+ but… I don’t know how effective that’ll be, considering there’s no included promise that the desired content will be found there. At least they still have the best Super Bowl ad of 2024.

Keith Lee’s Security Restrains Him After Troll Calls Him DDG: Watch

Keith Lee has been making plenty of headlines since his appearance at the BET Awards this weekend, largely due to a viral mix-up. Host Taraji P. Henson mistook another influencer for him as she made her way through the crowd giving people their flowers. He later made clear that he didn’t appreciate the mistake. In a TikTok, the food reviewer explained that he doesn’t hold it against Henson, but does hold it against the event’s production team.

Henson later responded to his complaints, claiming that he had been in a different seat than he was previously assigned, which is what prompted the confusion. She also said that his “ego is hurt,” suggesting that he’s making a bigger deal out of the mishap than necessary. “Life really is too short for this behavior,” she wrote. “He wasn’t in his seat [shrug emoji].”

Man Approaches Keith Lee To Call Him DDG

Now, however, it appears as though one troll decided to poke fun at the viral drama by mixing Lee up with yet another person. In a new clip making its rounds online, he’s seen walking with his team when a man approaches him and starts calling him DDG. “Don’t do that,” Lee said repeatedly as a security guard grabbed him. The incident has sparked mixed reactions among social media users in The Neighborhood Talk‘s comments section.

Some see it as nothing but an innocent joke. Others think the man should have respected Lee’s boundaries, particularly considering all that he’s already been through this week. What do you think of a troll pretending to think Keith Lee was DDG after his BET Awards mix-up? Do you think he went too far, or was it an innocent joke? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

50 Cent Has More Jokes For Rick Ross Over Canada Brawl

50 Cent is still joking about his longtime rival, Rick Ross, getting in an altercation in Canada, last week. Speaking with singer Keith Sweat and comedian Earthquake on Instagram Live, he continued to troll Ross about the situation. Ross had attempted to play Kendrick Lamar’s hit diss track, “Not Like Us,” which takes aim at Drake.

“You saw that sh*t that happened in Canada? Rick Ross got f*cked up,” 50 began while shadowboxing. From there, Earthquake added: “All his bodyguards need to resign, n***a. They failed the number one thing. They didn’t guard nobody’s body — including their own.” After sharing more laughs, 50 added: “I could do this muthaf*cka all day with y’all.”

When the clip made its way to X (formerly Twitter), fans had mixed responses to the way 50 is handling the situation. “Nobody wants to say it, but 50 is just as corny as Drake,” one user wrote. Another remarked: “Keith & Ross cool so this interesting …well they did a song together and so did Ross & drake ….so who knows anymore lol.” It isn’t the first time 50’s brought up the incident either. He also posted a skit recreating the brawl on Instagram. Check out 50’s full comments below.

50 Cent Clowns Rick Ross

Not all of the responses to the situation with Ross have been so facetious. Both Uncle Luke and Marlon Wayans condemned the beef between Drake, Kendrick Lamar, and Rick Ross in posts on social media. Luke, in particular, was upset with Drake for liking a post about the altercation online. Be on the lookout for further updates on 50 Cent and Rick Ross on HotNewHipHop.

Months After Dating Rumors, Lana Del Rey And Quavo Are ‘Tough’ On Their Dreamy New Collaboration

In 2021, Lana Del Rey named Migos as the artist she’d most like to collaborate with, saying, “I love them. Everything they do. There was kind of like a new revolution of sound 11 years ago in the singer-songwriter community, which I loved seeing. And then with Migos, I think they kicked off a new super fun, super autobiographical, completely different style of rap. I love them.”

Now, that has come true as much as is possible given the current state of Migos: Del Rey teams up with Quavo on their new collab, “Tough.”

The track takes Del Rey’s ethereal, vintage-inspired sound and mixes it with a hip-hop flair. On the track, the two discuss how strong and resilient they are, like on the chorus: “Tough like the scuff on a pair of old leather boots / Like the blue-collar, red-dirt attitude / Like a .38 made out of brass / Tough like the stuff in your grandpa’s glass.”

The two also sparked dating rumors earlier this year, and Quavo explained at the time, “We having hits,” an apparent tease of the collab that has now been realized.

This isn’t the only hip-hop connection Del Rey had made lately, as she was spotted twerking with Sexyy Red back in May.

Kodak Black Announces That He’s Mostly Sober

Kodak Black has been open about his substance abuse issues in the past, and recently, he gave fans yet another hopeful update on his journey to sobriety. During an Instagram Live earlier this week, the rapper revealed that going a few days without substances is “nothing” for him now, which is a far cry from how he felt previously. “I’m sober for the most part,” he declared.

He went on to say that “if the Gremlin can do it, y’all can do it,” expressing a desire to motivate others battling substance abuse with his own progress. Kodak added that he’s proud of himself for taking steps in the right direction. Of course, fans are flooding him with praise in The Neighborhood Talk‘s comments section for the inspiring feat.

Kodak Black Opens Up About His Sobriety Journey

“Love that for him,” one Instagram user says. “A win is a win,” someone else writes. Others are commending him for being so transparent with his supporters about the pitfalls of addiction and trying to encourage others not to go down the same road he did. Kodak Black’s latest remarks on sobriety arrive only days after he revealed that he regrets some of his most popular lyrics about drug use during a show in LA.

The lyrics in question are from his 2022 track “Super Gremlin,” in which he raps about taking fake Percs. He clarified that had he actually been taking fake drugs, he’d be “dead” by now, and that it can be incredibly dangerous. The performer explained that he didn’t want listeners to hear the line and get the wrong idea. What do you think of Kodak Black revealing that he’s mostly sober these days? Are you happy to see him taking steps towards sobriety? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.
